Veteran's Home Targeted in Northern California Shooting

A Veterans Home was the target of a shooting turned hostage situation.  Three female hostages, employees of the veterans program, and the gunman, are dead.  The attack by a gunman occurred during a going-away party in a building that houses Pathway Home, a program that assists combat veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Napa County Sheriff John Robertson declined to identify the gunman Friday night, but authorities said he was a veteran who was being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Reminds me sort of the Chris Kyle shooting.

Exactly when the hostages and gunman died was unclear.

The gunman had exchanged gunfire with a deputy early on when he entered the area where the party was being held, and then had been silent for eight hours.

Hostage negotiators from at least three agencies were at the scene, attempting to make contact with the individual.
