Mr. Constitution Hour, KPRZ: Article IV. and Prayer at the Constitutional Convention

Mr. Constitution Hour by Douglas V. Gibbs

Mr. Constitution Hour by Douglas V. Gibbs: Full Faith and Credit - Article IV. of the U.S. Constitution concerns the States. More specifically, as a new union, the States needed to work together as a country. In addition to the Full Faith and Credit Clause, Article IV. addresses the privileges and immunities of citizens, extradition, the constitutional provision used to write the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, how new states join the union, territorial authorities, the guarantee of each State having a republican form of government, and the requirement that the federal government protect the states against invasion and domestic violence. In addition, Douglas V. Gibbs also discusses the importance of Christians being active in the public square, and Benjamin Franklin's call for prayer before each session of the convention in 1787. The first prayer by William Rogers on July 4, 1787 is read in full in this episode.
