Ireland Next Domino To Fall Under Weight Of Liberal Socialist Policies

By Douglas V. Gibbs

First Greece, now Ireland. Government systems that embrace entitlements, and liberal spending measures, are dropping like flies. Progressivism, liberalism, socialism, whatever you want to call it, is proving to be a failed system across Europe. . . yet the American Liberals wish the United States to maintain its course toward hard left policies.

Ireland's economic crisis has reached such a point that with the signing of the latest budget, the government is going to collapse. The Prime Minister's announcement that he would dissolve the government led to protests that included citizens storming the Parliament building in Dublin.

Liberalism fails wherever it is tried. All the compassion in the world does not stabilize economic systems; and unsustainable spending, no matter how good the intentions, always results in a collapse of the system.

Europe, with Greece and Ireland collapsing, and many other countries rapidly approaching a similar point, is fighting to remain intact. Financial markets are teetering, and austerity measures are being imposed in a number of the nations. Liberalism/socialism has failed, and now the European nations must move in a more conservative direction. . . or face a complete meltdown.

Amazingly, the necessary budget cuts are very unpopular with the people, to the point that any austerity measure triggers riots in these nations. The fact is the citizens of socialist Europe have become so brainwashed about being blindly dependent upon the government, rather than being self-reliant and personally responsible, that even in the face of complete collapse they will fight for their entitlements.

Portugal and Spain are next.
