Liberal Left's War on Women and Motherhood, From Abortion to Hilary Rosen

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Individualism is dangerous to authoritarian ideologies like American Liberalism, Communism, Socialism, Fascism, and the list goes on.  In order to be able to properly control the populace the people must be broken down into a homogeneous mass where individual thought, actions, and relationships are eliminated. The emphasis is placed on community over the individual. The individual is taught that without government he or she is incapable of making reasonable decisions, or even take care of themselves (remember the "it takes a village to raise a child" comment by Hillary Clinton?). Those who have succeeded through individual decisions are then marked as the enemy, and the people are convinced that those rich individuals must be punished, and their wealth must be redistributed back to the "less fortunate" people for fairness. Ultimately, the perfect society according to these people, are where the ruling elite controls the economic means of production in the society, and the net beneficiaries of government outnumber and dominate those that remain as the individual producers of the society, making the populace largely dependent upon the government - until of course utopia is reached and the people live in communes and shed the shackles of money and government.

The destruction of any institution that encourages individuality, personal responsibility, self-reliance, and allegiance to anything else other than the nationalistic government ruled over by a ruling elite is paramount, for these statists.

Marriage, family, and defined individual roles in those family units, have come under attack as a result.

Homosexuals, who ridiculed marriage just a few decades ago are demanding marriage now, not for the purpose of equality, but to destroy marriage, or at least to destroy the connection that union has with religion, and the traditional definition of a family unit. Feminism, too, has made it a goal to destroy the family unit, and to even destroy human nature, or at least how it has been defined by traditional standards.

Acting in line with Marxist principles, the liberal left has been obediently waging war on the family unit, which in turn is a war on individuality.

The propaganda has gotten to the point that if a man is accused by a woman of inappropriate behavior, we automatically assume the man's behavior was out of line. There is no consideration that the woman might be lying, or that what she considers inappropriate was an innocent encounter where the man never had an ill thought in his head. Isn't that what happened with Herman Cain? He was accused by four women, with no evidence, and stories that did not stand up to scrutiny. But did anyone notice that once he bowed out of the presidential race nothing became of the accusations? A large segment of the population just assumed that Cain, because he was a man, was guilty. No one considered the possibility that the accusations were trumped up for the purpose of political destruction.

This is what feminism has been forcing through our culture for nearly a century. Their tactics are deceptive, and deliberate. The tactics have become more pronounced in recent years, however. Now, they have no fear. The tactics are more forward, because the public has been conditioned to believe anything the feminists scream out. They use political correctness as a tool for censorship of the opposition.  Political correctness has become just as much about our behavior as it has about what you are allowed to say. As we saw in the case of Herman Cain, the feminists have positioned society to the point that now they can use sexual harassment, and their interpretation of "sexism," as a political tool. What is even worse is that it can be anything they want it to be, even if it contradicts them in another arena. No evidence is needed, no specific allegation is needed, all the liberals need is the appearance of impropriety by men.

Mitt Romney, according to Hilary Rosen, has stepped over the line. He dared to say that when it comes to economic issues he consults his wife. The problem is, according to the feminists, Ann Romney has never been down for the struggle, she has not been a career woman juggling a million things as the poor dears are forced to do because, as they see it, men are scum.

How can Hilary Rosen make such a silly accusation? The answer is clear. Rosen can spew such nonsense and for the most part get away with it because of the roar of feminism throughout our culture. Even the most innocent of things can be a guilty action, if the feminists deem it so. I am surprised the liberals haven't accused the Romney of being sexist by "not letting his wife work."

You watch. That's next.

Remember, to feminism, every man is the enemy. Men are, according to these people, predators and sexists, just because of their gender. Automatically guilty. Men are offensive to feminists just because they are men, and to put them in their place the feminists believe they must overpower, control, and be above men. If you disagree with that, you are automatically labeled the enemy, and it is assumed you support male rule over women.

In this brave new world all a woman has to be is slightly offended by something, and the man is guilty. Hilary Rosen was offended that Romney would ask his wife an opinion, which you would think she would approve of - but you see, Romney, though not a very conservative one, is a Republican, so he must be guilty of something every time he has any interaction with women. . . including his wife.

Feminism has created an environment that has made men afraid of being themselves. Men have to ask themselves before they do anything, or say anything, if the feminists will see it as sexist. And the feminists know it. They created this situation for the purpose of destroying the family unit, demasculating men, and ultimately making us one big homogeneous mass of government controlled automatons.

For God's sake, I've even heard of some women going off on a guy for opening a door for her.

"I can do it myself!"

Okay, so back to Hilary Rosen, and Ann Romney.

Hilary Rosen is a perfect example of the complete false religion that feminism is. It contradicts itself right and left, because the point is not to be beneficial to women, but to have complete hostility against men, and especially those men whose wives stay at home, and those that don't bow down obediently to the hard left liberal political message. In fact, I would say that feminism hates women who dare decide to be stay at home moms.

The goals have changed. Feminism says that they are all about equal pay for equal work, which is a load of bull crap. They sure aren't complaining about how women make 18% less than men in the Obama White House. That's because equal pay for equal work was just a mask. The real goals have been hidden, and are now beginning to fully expose themselves.

The goal of feminism is one and the same with the goals of liberalism, which is to destroy individualism through the destruction of the family unit. That is what the collectivist goals of the democrats requires for them to move on to their next statist goals that Obama even now is trying to put into place. Therefore, they have a genuine hate for women who do not work. They hate women who only stay home and raise their families. They hate women who make that choice.

Remember, liberalism needs division and crisis to move forward, so they can't just be satisfied with a divide between men and women. They have to go deeper and create hostilities between working mothers and stay at home moms. They want you to think it is virtuous to be a working mother, and that it is anti-woman to be a stay at home mom.

Hilary Rosen revealed all of this in her words about the Romneys. She allowed us to see her hostility against women who stay at home. She's angry because there are people that look up to Ann Romney, and that crazy ol' republican woman has not been down for the feminist struggle because she has never worked.

The comment by Hilary Rosen was on CNN's Anderson Cooper program. As a guest, Rosen was challenging Coopers assertion that Romney appeals to women despite the War on Women the republicans seem to be waging. Of course the democrats are trying to convince everyone that the term "War on Women" originated in the GOP, even though the leftists coined it.

Hilary Rosen, upset about the fact that Romney indicated he listens to his wife because she listens to women on economic problems faced by women, went into a tizzy, and said some things that truly boggles the mind.

Hilary Rosen said, "What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know, my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues. And when I listen to my wife, that's what I'm hearing.' Guess what? His wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She's never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school, and why we worry about their future. There's something much more fundamental about Mitt Romney. He just seems so old-fashioned when it comes to women. And I think that comes across. And I think that that's going to hurt him over the long term. He just doesn't really see us as equal."

It is as if she is calling Ann Romney a lazy so-and-so, and Romney is being compared to the cliche of men that feminists created so long ago. Never mind the fact that Ann Romney had breast cancer, has multiple sclerosis, and still found a way with those challenges to raise five children while undergoing treatment for those two conditions. But, you see, Hilary Rosen could care less about the facts. She's angry because first of all Ann Romney is not a feminist, liberal, or anything else that Rosen approves of. She's also angry because Ann Romney doesn't work, which means she isn't like the rest of the feminists, which must mean she is too ignorant to understand the economic problems women face. She's never worked a day in her life, so Rosen thinks Ann is essentially a worthless member of society and should just keep her mouth shut. . . and Mitt has no business asking Ann her opinion.

This almost sounds like it is the opposite of what these people should be thinking, doesn't it?

What is even crazier is if you remember, these same liberals and feminists came down on Sarah Palin because she dared to go to work rather than be home with her Down Syndrome child. They hammered Palin for going to work when she had those children to raise, but are now hammering Ann Romney for not going to work and instead staying home to raise all those children.

Talk about a contradiction.

The inability to agree with themselves has nothing to do with what they are saying it has to do with. Liberals like Hilary Rosen lie, and hate, and are hostile against anything not liberal. That's it! If you are a republican, you are a target. Ann Romney had five kids, cancer, and MS, and she doesn't understand economic hardship because she didn't go to work? Are you kidding me? And because of that Mitt has no business asking her for her opinion on the economic plight of women?

Some of the democrats have realized that Hilary Rosen said too much about what the Left really believes, and now they are trying to do some damage control The Obama campaign is trying to distance itself from Rosen, while not necessarily condemning what she said. They are saying she doesn't work for them, she's just some DNC person.

Never mind the fact that Rosen has been a guest at the White House 36 times since Obama was inaugurated, a half dozen times to see Obama personally. Besides, Rosen used to be a lobbyist, and we know how much the Obama administration loves lobbyists, despite their language to the contrary.

Rosen has simply released with her flapping mouth what the liberal left truly believes, and some of the democrats are mad because they are supposed to be doing things incrementally, without exposing what they are really about so openly. They are working for the destruction of individuality, and the destruction of whoever is Obama's opponent, so it is true they are going after Romney and his wife, but Rosen let the cat out of the bag and let everyone know that was what was going on. The thing is, Ann is liked, and is a woman that knows what life in America is all about. She's a role model for what she's done despite the obstacles in her way, and she can articulate responses better than any democrat can.

The democrats want to use this "she's never worked a day in her life" angle for another reason, too. The Romneys represent those evil rich people, remember?

"Of course she's never worked," they are telling us. "She's RICH! Those rich people don't work, they just take money away from the poor to become richer."

Carol Costello of CNN challenged Hilary Rosen on her statement. Costello said, "You said Ann Romney never worked a day in her life. This is a woman who suffered breast cancer, has MS, raised five boys. That's hard work."

Hilary Rosen, true to her feminism, responded, "I have kids. Being a mom is the hardest job in the world. That's the truth of it. I've said consistently that the issue... Look, Mitt Romney's brought his wife into this conversation. This is not about Ann Romney. This is about the waitress at a diner in someplace in Nevada who has two kids whose daycare funding is being cut off because of the Romney-Ryan budget, and she doesn't know what to do. This isn't about whether Ann Romney or I or other women of some means can afford to make a choice to stay home and raise kids. Most women in America, let's face it, don't have that choice."

And why is it these people don't have that choice? Could it be because of Obama's last three years in office? Could it be because despite the manipulated numbers, jobs are harder to come by, the debt is out of control, and inflation is on the rise? Rosen hammered the Ryan budget, which is full of solutions, instead essentially defending the Obama economic plan, which has been destroying this economy.

There is less opportunity in this nation because of the democrats, because of liberalism. The republicans have revealed what the damage is, and now Romney, though not the most conservative choice, has said he plans to stop much of the liberal madness. This makes people like Hilary Rosen angry. Romney has become the enemy, and out of it all Hilary Rosen despises Ann Romney, and maybe even resents Ann Romney.

All of this because Mitt Romney said he listens to his wife. Shouldn't feminism be happy about that? Would they rather the women of America just don burqas right now? The couple talks about things, and Rosen is pissed off over it?

It makes no sense. The liberals somehow have come to the conclusion that Ann is a dumb woman, and not capable of understanding economics because she's a stay at home mom. Is that it, Hilary? Because Ann is not a feminist she must be too dumb to understand anything?

So Mitt is in trouble for saying he respects his wife's opinion. I wonder what would have happened if he had said, "I don't respect my wife's opinion. She's never worked a day in her life and doesn't understand economics."

You're damn right, the liberals would have been all over Romney for not respecting his wife, which then would make him a sexist, and so forth.

You see, with liberals you can't win for losing.

What's the answer to the question?

Answer: Whatever benefits the liberals the most at that moment.

As for the part about hating the Romneys because they are rich, and Ann not understanding what it is like to struggle, does the liberal left not remember the story about the Romney's early years when they lived in a basement apartment with no income, enduring the hardships that came their way?

That has nothing to do with it. Remember, pregnancy, and therefore motherhood, is a disease to these people. That's why they love abortion so much. They consider pregnancy to be a hassle. Obama calls it a mistake that a woman is punished with. That's why they hate people like Michelle Duggar who has 19 kids, wants to have more, and dared say we don't have an overpopulation problem. The left believes people are an epidemic ruining this poor planet. We are a parasite, they will tell you. They hate motherhood, they hate individuality, and they will do anything they can to stop both, including going after a woman like Ann Romney who dared to stay home with her children.

The greatest part of this story, however, is not the obvious contradictions by the liberals, or their apparent war on motherhood - which has women in general angry with the democrats. The best part about all of this has been Ann Romney's response to Hilary Rosen's madness.

Ann Romney responded to Rosen's attack on Fox News with Martha MacCallum.

Ann Romney said, "She should have come to my house when those five boys were causing so much trouble. It wasn't so easy. My career choice was to be a mother, and I think all of us need to know that we need to respect choices that women make. Other women make other choices to have a career and raise a family, which I think Hilary Rosen has actually done herself. I respect that. That's wonderful. There are other people that have a choice. We have to respect women in all those choices that they make. I will tell you that Mitt said to me more times than you would imagine, 'Ann, your job is more important than mine.' Mitt respects women that make those different choices. He had a lot of women in his life that have been his advisers, that he listens to a lot of different women."

This is why the democrats hate Ann. She is everything they have tried to push down, and they are hoping now that the voters will believe their propaganda and refuse to listen to Ann Romney.

Ann Romney continued, "Hilary needs to know this because I've been on the campaign trail for one year, and guess what women are talking about? And I don't care if they're stay-at-home moms or they're working mothers or they're grandmothers, guess what they're all talking about? They're talking about jobs and they're talking about the legacy of debt that we're leaving our children. That's what I'm hearing."

They are talking about the economy, just as Romney said, and just as the democrats are trying to get you not to talk about. They want to take the attention off of the economy, because people aren't buying the "it's Bush's fault" idiocy anymore. That's why the liberals are attacking the Romney's in this manner. They want Ann, and Mitt, to shut up about the economy, and if they can make her look like an uninformed buffoon with their attacks, then they will do it. They want to stop the Romneys politically. But Ann is effective, and the leftists hate it.

The democrats want you to think it is the 1960s all over again. The blacks and the whites are at war with each other, and men are suppressing women. That's what they want you to think. That's the reason behind the Trayvon Martin crap, the birth control pill crap, and now this attack on Ann Romney. They need division, they need crisis.

That is how Obama wins elections. He destroys the opposition with attacks, taking them out of the game. He can't beat opponents fair and square, so they have to attack and attack, and make you believe that Romney is some old fashioned guy who wants women in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant, and that his wife Ann is too stupid to have an opinion because Mitt made her that way, not allowing her to work, keeping her home, refusing to catch up with the times, which according to the liberals, is supposed to be the golden age of feminism, socialism, and the destruction of individuality and the family unit.

The thing is, when the facts emerge, as they tend to do every once in a while, the liberal left is stunned when the truth of the matter reveals that men and women are different, and that they are for a reason. We are not supposed to be some faceless, genderless, homogeneous mass of automatons doing as the government tells us to do.

The feminists and the abortionists and the liberals all say they are about choice, as long as that choice agrees with them. I'm here to tell you that they are right, choice does matter, but the greatest thing about it is that women can be individuals, and make individual choices, which should also include the option to not work, not to murder their unborn child, and be a mother. It's an individual choice a woman can make, and that choice to put all of her efforts into the family unit should be just as respected as any other, if not more.

With an added note, let me say that my wife of nearly twenty eight years has a bachelors degree, and four associates degrees, and she chose to stay at home with the children for most of our marriage. She got her current job two weeks after our youngest moved out, after spending the majority of the previous twenty five years performing her greatest role, as a wife and mother. She made that choice as an individual, and she is proud of it.
