Death to the Constitution

The following is an email recently sent out to the loyal supporters of the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution Network, Constitution Radio, and all of my efforts teaching the principles of the Constitution. . .

Dear Class, Friends, and Fellow Constitutionalists,

Throughout the Muslim World it is not uncommon to hear chants of "Death To America." The leftwing of the world has their own chant: "Death to the Constitution." The socialists in Europe, and the United States, are calling for an end to the American System. The most frightening part of it all is that right here in our country the voice calling for the end to the America Way is loudest. There is actually a political ideology purposely orchestrating the death of the Constitution.

As stories have it, when Benjamin Franklin stepped into the sunlight from Independence Hall after the final signature graced the United States Constitution, a woman asked him, "Sir, what have you given us?"

The elder statesman adjusted his spectacles, and said, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Dr. Franklin recognized that with the creation of a federal government came the potential peril of tyranny. The Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution with the intent of limiting the size and scope of the new federal government, while protecting State Sovereignty. The Constitution, however, is only ink and paper if we don't fight for it.

But if you don't understand the Constitution, how can you be expected to fight for it?

Thomas Jefferson said, "In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

James Madison said, "A well-instructed people alone can be permanently a free people."

The key to preserving liberty is to educate the masses in the principles of the U.S. Constitution.

While the statists of the world cry out, "Death to the Constitution," we realize that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is preserved, protected, and promoted when the people understand the law of the land, and that occurs when the people are educated about the Constitution.

Few voices are out there defending the originalist view of the Constitution, and even fewer are out there teaching the principles of the Constitution in an understandable manner in classrooms, at various events, Online, and through broadcast media. Few of these people exist, and more are needed. And it is imperative that we preserve what few voices are out there.

My efforts to educate the public in the principles of the Constitution began in 2006 with the launch of Political Pistachio, and since then I have added classes, public speaking engagements, writing at various locations around the web and in print media, and radio programs.

After more than five years on Online radio, on August 6, 2011, the Lord provided me with an incredible opportunity. . . to broadcast on AM Radio.

KCAA is not a conservative station, and the perfect place for a show that views political issues through the lens of the Constitution. Because the audience is mixed with those that support the Constitution, and those who do not, it gives me a chance to educate those that look down upon the Constitution, as well. Having this show on KCAA 1050 AM also shows the industry my value, because I am bringing listeners to a station that would not normally have listeners who support the Constitution, and the room for growth at this small independent station is incredible. In addition to that, the station's commitment to using Online and smart phone technology has also been integral to the growth of the program.

After nineteen months on KCAA, two advertisers have stayed with the show since the beginning; Constitution Quest Game ( www.constitutionquest.com ), and FST Sand and Gravel ( FSTsand.com ). Their commitment to Constitution Radio, plus various advertisers and donors that have come and gone who have helped in funding the show, makes me eternally grateful.

But now, the radio program has reached a crossroads.

With the recent death of a dear friend, Paul "Prying1" Young, who helped support the program, and the cancellation of an opportunity to hold a Constitution Class in Murrieta, we find ourselves short in funding the program during the current contract. At the same time, opportunities for growth have revealed themselves, including a syndication service taking a look at the radio program with the potential intent of making the show go national.

KCAA provides a service, and without payment for the airtime, the station will have no choice but to end the contract with Constitution Radio. That does not mean all would be over, I could regroup and return later, but by interrupting the continuity of the program, it would be like starting all over again.

The show is short $1,200, and the funding for the show is past due. The show remains on the air due to the generosity of the owner of the station, and a promise that the funding will be forthcoming.

After 19 months of pulling off the funding for the show, we have fallen short, but I still believe that this effort of mine is in God's Will, and that He will provide. On the marketing and advertising front, I have been joined by a new group of folks who believe in what I am doing and are working to help find funding for the show with advertisers, but the immediate need must be met or my work, and theirs, will be in vain.

A dozen $100 contributions will meet the goal. Any contribution will help.

All contributors of $24 or more will also begin receiving my newsletter, and be placed on the list for a free, autographed copy of my book, The 25 Myths of the Constitution, when it hits bookshelves, potentially by the end of the year.
