GOP Begs Loretta Lynch To Prosecute Lois Lerner In IRS Scandal

by JASmius

Whether out of unprecedentedly pathetic prostration or simply to check off that box on the "Well, we tried" list, it's impossible to tell.

But I really wish they hadn't, because this is just embarrassing:

Republican lawmakers are petitioning the new attorney general, Loretta Lynch, to criminally prosecute former IRS official Lois Lerner over the agency's targeting scandal, having failed to convince her predecessor to do so.

According to the Hill, twenty-four Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee sent a letter to Lynch asking for her to take up the panel's 2014 request to charge Lerner for possible crimes....

You know, the one that that doubled over Eric "The Red" Holder in hysterical laughter....

"The American people deserve the truth as to how the IRS was used as a political tool to target and harass Americans for their beliefs. … It is outrageous that despite having evidence right at their fingertips, the DOJ has refused to investigate potential criminal acts taken by Lois Lerner at the IRS," Boehner said in a statement, according to the Hill.

"The administration's silence on this targeting might as well imply its consent of these abusive actions," the speaker continued.

Finally, you're starting to catch on, Mr. Speaker.

"I hope the new attorney general will take this investigation seriously. The American people deserve answers and to know that justice will be served."

Well, Mr. Speaker, if the American people didn't want an ongoing criminal conspiracy running their government, they wouldn't have elected and re-elected Barack Hussein Obama in the first place.  And if you wanted an attorney-general who would take your investigation of IRSgate and Double-L seriously, maybe your Republican colleagues in the Senate should have defeated the other Double-L's nomination instead of confirming her and forced The One to appoint somebody who actually would.

Jus' sayin'....
