....says the Border Patrol that isn't being allowed to patrol the border that no longer exists, but can only sit and watch helplessly as the rest of the world pours in:
The situation at U.S. borders is still out-of-control despite reports that the number of illegal [alien]s attempting to [invade] the U.S. is on the decline, Border Patrol officials told the Washington Post.
"This notion that DHS is saying the border is more secure than ever — they don’t have any evidence of that," said Brandon Judd, a seventeen-year agent who is president of the National Border Patrol Council. "It’s just smoke and mirrors."...
[T]he Washington Times reported in April that more than three thousand unaccompanied minors came across the Mexican border in March, the most since the peak of the 2014 crisis when tens of thousands of unaccompanied Central American minors showed up at U.S. borders.
And in the first six months of this fiscal year, authorities have reported apprehending 15,647 unaccompanied minors trying to get across the border. Though that’s 40% fewer than the same time last year — a situation that "sparked a political crisis" — fiscal year 2015 is "shaping up to mark the second-biggest surge on record," according to the Times.
So, astonishingly, the Obama Regime continues to brazenly lie about the passive invasion of America that they are continuing to facilitate via DACA and DAPA in order to do the long-suspected end-run around the American electorate and entrench the Democrat Party in power forever:
Fifty-three percent (53%) of Democrats think tax-paying illegal [alien]s should have the right to vote. Twenty-one percent (21%) of Republicans [!!!] and 30% of voters not affiliated with either major political party agree.
Women are more supportive than men of letting tax-paying illegal [alien]s vote, but the two are in general agreement that the size of voting districts should be determined by counting only the number of eligible voters.
Wow, that's cognitively dissonant. But I'm sure they'll come to the logical conclusion, and probably sooner than later.
Voters under forty are twice as likely as their elders are to favor allowing illegal [alien]s to vote, but they, too, draw the line at counting illegal [alien]s when setting up legislative districts.
Why, keeds? In for a penny, in for a pound, as the saying goes. Besides, you don't want to be denounced as "nativists" and "xenophobes," now do you?
It's depressing to realize that the only thing keeping that fraying string of national sovereignty and citizenship meaning [if you can even call it that] from snapping once and for all is the blanket inability of the next generation to think its way out of the proverbial collective burlap sack. Almost as demoralizing as contemplating this quite likely scenario:
If you thought Bush v. Gore was a legal and political clusterfark, imagine if [Elizabeth Warren] wins the presidency thanks to a razor-thin margin in Ohio or Florida and there’s statistical evidence to support the belief that illegal votes were the difference.
Boy, I can't wait to blog and podcast about that insanity any more than you can to read and listen to it. C'mon, you know it's true.
The last piece of what the White House considers "good news"? The proportion of invaders that are "OTMs" (other than Mexicans) is now the majority of them:
The Pew Research Center has reported that immigration flows are at a twenty-year low and for the first time in more than six decades of Border Patrol data, more non-Mexicans than Mexicans were apprehended at U.S. borders in 2014 (229,000 Mexicans, 257,000 non-Mexicans).
This is good news?
To tweak a Hawkeye quote, "You and I define 'good news' very differently".
