The Pope's Green Marines

by JASmius

Now the Catholic Church, unlike the GOP, is an organization that really has been shot through with statist infiltrators:

Roman Catholic leaders from around the world on Monday made a joint appeal to a forthcoming United Nations conference on climate change to produce a "fair, legally binding and truly transformational" agreement. [emphasis added]

Their words, not mine, folks.

The Catholic cardinals, patriarchs and bishops from across the globe signed the appeal in the Vatican, saying climate change had to be linked "to social injustice and the social exclusion of the poorest and most vulnerable of our citizens".

How about also linking it to Exodus 20:16, which inveighs against "bearing false witness," since the "anthropogenic global warming" hoax is one gigantic lie designed to vastly overempower the "kingdoms of this world" and vastly inflate the ranks of the poor?

Their ten-point document....

Think it's any coincidence that they made it a "green decalogue"?

....was based on Pope Francis's major encyclical last June, called Laudato Si, which demanded urgent action to save the planet from environmental ruin.

That is utterly and completely fictional.

"Whether believers or not, we are agreed today that Earth is essentially a shared inheritance, whose fruits are meant to benefit everyone," said the appeal to the conference, which meets in Paris from November 30th to December 11th.

"For believers, this becomes a question of fidelity to the Creator, since God created the world for everyone. Hence every ecological approach needs to incorporate a social perspective which takes into account the fundamental rights of the poor and the underprivileged," it said.

Well, that's interesting, because if you do a word search on any online Bible site under "steward" and "stewardship" - which is the label these collared greenstremists are essentially employing - you will not find a single instance of either term that is used in an ecological context.  Every application of those two words is spiritual, and all in the Pauline epistles to refer to Apostolic responsibility for the churches they had planted and their teaching and discipling of the "flocks" within them.

As to the planet itself, you have to go back to Genesis 1:26 to find the divinely ordained arrangement:

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all Earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on Earth.” [emphasis added]

Thus, we can do whatever we want to this world - period.  So even if the mere existence of modern human civilization was producing "environmental ruin" - and not the sun, for instance - there is nothing in the Word of God that proscribes it.

"Beware false prophets," indeed.
