Hillary Clinton Throws Benghazi Families Under The Bus....Again

by JASmius

Let's set aside and otherwise ignore my post from the other day reiterating the likelihood that Hillary Clinton will never be the Democrat presidential nominee and just stipulate, for the sake of conversation, that she will be.  This story illustrates in spades why, in the absence of her November opponent being Donald Trump, that she could never win a general election:

Hillary Clinton was confronted with her conflicting stories about the reasons for the attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya, and answered by throwing the victims’ families under the bus. She suggested they lied, because she never told them about the attack being caused by an offensive video. Perhaps they got caught up in “the fog of war.”

That is not only a lie, but a bad lie, one that has been debunked six ways from Sunday long before now, thanks to her email scandal.  But she was confronted with an issue that makes her look really bad (one of many), she got angry, and in her imperious arrogance, she blurted it out anyway

Conway Daily Sun columnist Tom McLaughlin asked the video vs. planned terrorist attack question.

Which was all it took to trigger her mother of all gaffes.

He reminded [Mrs.] Clinton that she “told an Egyptian diplomat the Benghazi attack was planned and not a protest but that she told family members of the deceased that the attack was the result of a demonstration. He said she then told George Stephanopoulos that she didn’t tell the families the attack was a demonstration about a film.”

Leaving her no wiggle or spin room for even her clumsy, ham-fisted, pathetic dissembling.  She quite simply had no place to flee.

And so.....

“Somebody is lying,” said McLaughlin.”Who is it?
[Mrs.] Clinton replied, “Not [I], that’s all I can tell you.”

You know how you can tell that she was angry and flustered?  She didn't challenge the core premise of McLaughlin's question - "Somebody is lying".  Her husband would have waxed fecal about how there was no lie, probably fibricated a whopper about how there were top secret intelligence reasons why he couldn't publicly reveal that the al Qaeda attack on the Benghazi compound was an al Qaeda attack on the  Benghazi compound - and of course, since they're still "top secret," he still cannot disclose them.  Such creative mendacity is instinctual to Sick Willie, as is his savantish knack for emotionally connecting with his listener(s) and convincing them of his faux sincerity.  By the time he'd have been done with this interview, Tom McLaughlin would have been convinced not just that the Benghazi attack was caused by the YouTube video, but that it never happened, and that al Qaeda never existed at all.

The best Hillary could manage is an indignant, "T'warn't me!"  Which means, if somebody is lying, it had to be the families of J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glen Dougherty.

Patiently, calmly, and relentlessly challenge Hillary Clinton on the substance and core of her corrupt, ubiquitous deceptions, and she will wilt like William Donovan's face....

....a task for which Ted Cruz is uniquely well-suited.  And no amount of "war on women" whining would bail her out of that self-created Iron Maiden.

Once again, from the top, everyone: The more publicly visible Hillary Clinton is in this campaign, the worse her campaign does.  And she can't hide behind Mr. Bill indefinitely.

If I were a Democrat, I'd be rooting for Bernie Sanders to pull what just about everybody else will consider the upset.  It may be the only chance, aside from a timely executive order sometime before November, that the party of Marx and Alinsky has for a third Obama term.
