Marine Le Pen Places Full Stake in France Leaving European Union

The fate of France may rest in the hands of a woman who is being called a female version of Donald J. Trump. Marine Le Pen's rise to prominence in the European country follows her firm rhetoric about how France should reverse its policy on Muslim migrants, and that France should follow Britain's lead and get the heck out of the European Union.

Her plan is to pull France from the union, and from the euro currency, which she believes has been detrimental to France's economic well-being.  And, she is so adamant about removing France from the euro currency that she says if she becomes France's President after the upcoming elections, and pulling France out of the euro currency is rejected, she will resign her post as president.

Her powerful declaration was made while speaking on a radio program.  During the broadcast she reiterated her plan to hold a referendum on the euro issue if elected president, and said, "If it's no, I will go."

All of her other policies she would like to put into place, or at least "70 percent" of her plans, depend on abandoning the euro.  Otherwise, "my project cannot be put in place."

The French election has two dates coming up.  The first will take place on April 23, and is much like the California primary, where the top two vote-getters remain, and the rest of the candidates are eliminated.  A run-off election between the two remaining candidates then takes place on May 7, and the winner becomes President.  Le Pen remains a favorite, according to the polls, along with independent centrist Emmanuel Macron.
