Memorial Day, Honoring A Debt We Cannot Repay

More Than A Day Off, or a Day for Picnics and Bar-B-Ques

When I entered the cemetery I removed my hat out of respect and honor. The flags were waving in the slight breeze, each one placed on the edge of the plaque of the grave of each fallen hero. The resting place of my grandfather is at the Riverside National Cemetery in Southern California, a location of many graves of brave men and women who gave voluntarily for liberty, and the American Way. Line after line of simple grave makers mark the final resting places of the brave. The graves are alone, yet among their brothers and sisters in arms.

Standing over his grave marker, it brought back the memories of my visit to the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia near Washington DC, my visit to the tomb of the unknown soldier, and the rows and rows of crosses and grave markers I observed there.

My memories also harkened back to the first time I stepped into the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. As with Riverside National, I removed my cap as I stepped upon that sacred ground. I read the names in silence, tears welling up in my eyes. The dead called to me, asking me not to weep, for they gave their lives willingly, so that others might live, and live with the promise of freedom.

There were those at the USS Arizona Memorial that were less respectful, leaving their caps on, talking loudly, letting their children run around the solemn place. It made me desire to shout out, "Hey, show some respect!" But I didn't. Perhaps they didn't understand. Maybe they didn't know the price for freedom that veterans like myself have experienced. Perhaps they didn't view the fallen as brothers and sisters, and as heroes that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that our liberty might live.

My grandfather fought in World War II, and though he survived the war to live a long life, many of his fellow soldiers did not. Many of his friends and fellow troops lie in foreign lands. Many lie in graves, much like my grandfather's, in National Cemeteries across America. All of these heroes are owed a debt of unspeakable gratitude by Americans, and Memorial Day is that opportunity to do so.

With the recent war against the Islamic Jihad, and the continuing service of our fine military personnel, yet another generation of those who have proudly served and died in the service of our country is owed our thank you, and deserves our prayers.

Some ask how we can repay this debt, and show our gratitude.

One way to thank these fallen is to pause on Memorial Day to remember their sacrifice, and to thank them with our prayers for paying the cost of our freedoms. After all, our liberty has been bought and paid for with the blood of these brave heroes.

1.2 Million Americans have given their lives for our freedoms across more than two centuries and in more than a dozen wars and armed conflicts.

At the cemetery a small American flag is planted in the ground next to each grave's plaque. May they stand tall, and wave reverently.

Never forget. Keep the faith. Remember those fallen in service to the country, and to preserve the liberty of you and I.

The Rise of Secular Humanism in America

Herbert London wrote the book "America's Secular Challenge: The Rise of a New National Religion." As one of America's leading intellectuals, Herbert London is president of the Hudson Institute, and a noted social critic whose work has appeared in nearly every major newspaper and journal. A contributing editor for the St. Croix Review and the American Arts Quarterly, as well as the author of 21 books, Mr. London argues that the rise of radical secularism in the United States is a flaccid response to the challenge presented by the fanaticism of radical Islam.

Secular Humanism wages war against traditional religion using multiculturalism and cultural relativism, materialism, and a belief in scientific reality as the arbiter of human value. However, this belief in secularism is ill equipped to battle head on the oncoming inroads of fanaticism being waged by a zealous enemy with totalitarian ambitions. Secular Humanism has destroyed the West's only beliefs worth defending, and have left us exposed to the monumental battle on the horizon against the rising scurge of Islamism.

Tonight, at 7pm Pacific, 10pm Eastern, Herb London is my guest on the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution. Listen to the program live, or listen to the archive later: HERE.

Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee Honors Son's Final Wish

As we approach Memorial Day, our hearts go out to our fallen military warriors, their families, and their friends. Our prayers especially go out to the wives and mothers of our lost heroes, for they have lost so much. In the case of Debbie Lee, however, she has taken that loss to fuel what she has to give back, and her work of generosity is driven by the final wishes of her son, Marc Lee, the first Navy Seal to lose his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"Pass on the kindness, the love, the precious gift of human life to each other so that when your children come in contact with a great conflict that we are now faced with here in Iraq, that they are people of humanity, of pure motives, of compassion." Marc Alan Lee in his last letter to his mother, Debbie Lee.

Marc Alan Lee was the first Navy Seal killed in the war in Iraq. He lost his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 2, 2006. The moments before his death he single-handedly held off enemy fighters as his team rescued a wounded soldier from a rooftop. Debie Lee, his mother, has experienced a torrent of emotions since the day she lost her son. In Marc's final letter to home he wrote of his wish for Americans to support each other with random acts of kindness. With this idea in mind, Debbie began to implement Marc's dream.

In his final letter home, Marc wrote: "When was the last time you paid for a random stranger's cup of coffee, meal or maybe even a tank of gas? . . . Think to yourself and wonder what it would feel like when the bill for the meal came and you were told it was already paid for. More random acts of kindness like this would change our country and our reputation as a country."

Since Marc's death, Debbie Lee has been touring America to honor her son's final wish. She recently established America's Mighty Warriors dedicated to random acts of kindness for military personnel and their families stateside and overseas.

Her first random act of kindness raised money that she included in a condolence card to the family of another fallen soldier. She then took a wife (who was battling breast cancer), daughter, and granddaughter of a deployed soldier to Easter dinner. Debbie Lee heard of a Marine unit in San Diego scheduled to deploy without essential EOD power lock tools, and thanks to America's Mighty Warriors the unit will be traveling with the tools.

On Mother's Day, Debbie took other Gold Star Moms to lunch, followed by a limo ride to a mall where she organized an event based on the hit show "Amazing Race." Clues led moms to retail stores who donated gifts to pamper these women who have lost so much. Plans for a similar Father's Day event is in the works.

Debbie Lee met with President Bush, and appeared onstage at the 2007 Country Music Awards, where Tim McGraw performed his new song "If You're Reading This" which honors those in the U.S. military who gave their lives in service to this nation. she has also traveled to Iraq and Guantanamo Bay to personally thank troops serving overseas.

Tonight, Debbie Lee joins Political Pistachio Radio. Join us live at 7:00 PM Pacific, or listen to the archive later, HERE.

Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul’s name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America.

Former Palestinian Terrorist Speaks Out Against Islamic Jihad

Walid Shoebat joins Political Pistachio Radio tonight during the second hour to discuss:

- As the Taliban and Al Qaeda make inroads into Pakistan, it comes as no surprise to Former Terrorist Walid Shoebat because he predicted it over two years ago!

- Iran has a missile that can reach Israel, and their nukes are nearly finished. Now that Israel is in Iran's crosshairs, what, if anything, should the U.S. do?

- FBI foils homegrown New York Muslim terror attack on a Jewish Temple and military aircraft! The men reportedly planned to use C-4 plastic explosives to detonate a car outside a Bronx Jewish Temple, and to fire missiles at military planes at Newburgh, New York Air National Guard base - but when the deal came down, the would-be terrorists were sold fake weapons and were arrested. With the potential of imminent attacks on U.S. soil, how can the United States prevent the worst? Would understanding fundamentalist Islam be a start?

- The terrorists don't care who the president of the United States is, but are emboldened by a show of weakness by Barack Obama. Walid Shoebat will discuss how our president is showing weakness, and why this emboldens Jihadists.

- Closing Guantanamo Bay prison is dangerous. Allowing Islamic Terrorists from Gitmo into the American prison system would be devastating to our national security. But if the prison in Cuba is closed, what to do with the prisoners?

- The Holy Bible is a Middle Eastern book, and Walid Shoebat will also shed light on prophecy from a perspective Western Christians never recognized before - until now!

Join us tonight live on Political Pistachio Radio. The program begins live at 7pm Pacific, 10pm Eastern, and then into the second hour of the program, Walid Shoebat will join us live. Tune in to tonight's show live, or to the archive later, HERE.

Obama vs. Cheney

Barack Obama, trying to defend himself against the rightwing extremist threat, and apologize for everything America has become, delivered a disgusting array of commentary yesterday that was even moronic for Barry. The fear is apparent. He sees the growth of the Conservative movement, and the realization by America that Obama is a con-artist, a statist in rock-star clothing.

The diatribe in particular by Obama I wish to address is his assessment that the existence of Guantanamo Bay prison encourages terrorism. This is like saying, the existence of maximum security prisons encourages crime, and creates more criminals, so let's just shut down the prison system so that we don't make more criminals.

Terrorists are terrorists, whether you jail them or not. What crates terrorism is not Gitmo. What caused 9/11? What caused the kidnapping of American Citizens in Iran under Carter's watch? Guantanamo Bay was not being used to imprison Islamic terrorists, but they had it out for us then as well!

Do you want to know what creates more terrorists?

Recruitment into terrorism increases when terror attacks are successful. Terrorists are able to recruit even more terrorists when they believe they have had an affect, or are winning, or if they have a better chance to cause damage because signs of weakness are being portrayed by the enemy. And guess what? Obama is encouraging terrorists to take arms through his weakness!

Meanwhile, Dick Cheney laid it out in easy to understand details. He explained the reason for enhanced interrogation techniques. He explained the enemy and the steps taken to stop them.

The Jihad is laughing at Obama and the liberal left at this moment. They call water boarding torture? The Islamic Jihad has methods of torture, and they don't even resemble "simulating drowning." In fact, the torture methods by Islamists simulates nothing. They actually cut off limbs, heads, and anything else they can get a blade on.

The prisoners in Guantanamo Bay have served as valued intelligence sources, and the Bush policies, as flawed as they were on occasion, ensured that we never received another terror attack.

To quote Cheney, "Critics of our policies are given to lecturing on the theme of being consistent with American values, but no moral value held dear by the American people obliges public servants to sacrifice innocent lives to spare a captured terrorist from unpleasant things -- and when an entire population is targeted by a terror network, nothing is more consistent with American values than to stop them."

As Goes California, So Goes The Nation

California is in an Economic Crisis, and Obama's Budget Mirrors The Failed Economic Strategies Used In California

California is a fiscal failure. The state brags the highest corporate income taxes in the West (and only seven states have higher corporate rates). California ranks at the top of the heap with the most progressive tax scheme in the nation, including the second highest rate in the nation for those making in excess of $1 million. The sales tax burden in California ranks 13th in the nation. The total tax burden by California ranks 6th highest in the nation.

And California is asking Obama for a bailout.

To try to save the state's economy, the liberal Republicans and liberal Democrats that run the once proud "Governor Reagan State" proposed propositions 1A through 1F last Tuesday, which promised even more taxes. However, the California voters voted all of them down except 1F, showing that even a liberal state like California has a populace with a limit on how high they are willing to be taxed. 1F, by the way, limits raises for politicians in times of economic crisis.

Problem is, now that the voters have spoken in California, no Republican has appeared to pick up the baton and remind Americans that Obama's fiscal policies are not much unlike those of California. The fate of The Golden State is the fate of America, should Obama's policies continue to pass, and overtake the federal budget.

If you are curious what Barack Obama's economic policies will do to our nation's economy, take a look at California and the economic collapse the once prosperous state faces. California's economic downfall is the result of liberal policies, policies not unlike what Obama is proposing for our great nation. California is an image of what is sure to come for America, should the federal government continue down the road of chasing Obama's proposed economic ruin.

Humanity Loses Thousands - Nationwide Automobile Mileage and Emissions Standards

The New York Times Editorial "The Earth Wins One" is so rife with inaccuracies and dangerous myths that I almost couldn't finish reading it. The writer seems to think that President Barack Obama's new nationwide automobile mileage and emissions standards will save the planet, and reduce American dependence on foreign oil.

To answer the second part of that, the best way to reduce American dependence on foreign oil is to produce more domestic oil. Simple as that. Drill local, add more product to the global market, add a new competitor (us), and drop taxes on sales in America to encourage the domestic oil sales to Americans, and the need for foreign oil is abated.

The writer of this editorial may be fairly young, or has a poor memory, because the person also doesn't realize that Obama's new standards are not so new. Similar standards were passed in the 1970s, and rather than result in a drop of oil usage, armed with cars that received better mileage enabled Americans to drive farther, and more often for the same amount of money. In the long run, oil use rose, as did the number of deaths in the small, lighter death traps Detroit was calling automobiles.

The New York Times editorial also declares how important it is to limit greenhouse gases. I hate to break it to you, NYT writer, but the human contribution to the overall population of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is akin to a penny being added to a multi-trillion dollar bank account. The heaviest polluters of greenhouse gases are volcanoes and the oceans - and until you find a way to control them with liberty killing regulations, they will keep on spewing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere until the end of time. Besides, global warming is a natural phenomenon that is currently shifting into a cooling trend.

The writer is also excited about Obama's plan being much like the standards in California - the same standards that are among the many factors killing the economy, forcing people to leave the state, and breaking the backs of the remaining drivers. Trust me, I live in California, and the emissions standards are not considered to be wonderfully green by my statewide neighbors - we just consider it all too expensive and unreasonable.

Americans do not wish to buy these cracker-boxes that the United States Government is pushing Detroit to produce, either. The biggest sellers are SUVs and trucks, for a reason.

Let's see you pull that boat with your Chevy Volt.

I can appreciate your desire to save the planet. It seems noble on the surface. And I agree, we should be good stewards of the planet. The huge lie you have fallen for with gullible idiocy is not about the environment, though. It is about government control through environmental regulations. Besides, with the lighter, less than crash-worthy vehicles on the road, not only does the Earth not win, but humanity loses. After all, the standards will result ultimately in a real payment of thousands of American lives. The editorial in The New York Times is titled, "The Earth Wins One." It should have been named "Humanity Loses Thousands of Lives."

Harry Reid, like Pelosi, has trouble telling the truth

Nancy Pelosi promised no earmarks or pet projects were in the Stimulus Packages, and they were packed with the pork. Nancy Pelosi argued that she was never advised that water-boarding was being used as an interrogation technique, but the CIA said she was. She then turned around and essentially called the CIA a bunch of liars.

I know that politicians are known to be liars, but the Democrats take it to a whole new level.

Now, enter stage left, Harry Reid, Pelosi's close buddy, and colleague. He can't seem to get the facts straight either.

In fact, in one appearance, he fouled up three statements.

Reid was asked if Senator Edward Kennedy's cancer was in remission, and Reid replied, "Yes." Turns out, however, that Kennedy's office refused to confirm Reid's comments. Silence in Washington is a classic affirmation.

Reid was then asked about the health of Senator Robert C. Byrd. Reid indicated that Byrd was released from the hospital, or perhaps would be later in the week. Senator Byrd's spokeswoman stated that there has been no determination of when he will be released.

Finally, when asked if the Democrats in the Senate would join the House Democrats in withholding the money for closing Guantanamo Bay prison, he stated that "We will never allow terrorists to be released into the United States."

Conservatives have suggested that if Guantanamo Bay prison is closed, sending the prisoners home would be foolish because each of them would either face a death sentence, or be reabsorbed into the world of terror. The only other option would be to either release the prisoners into the free world, or place them in American prisons, but unacceptable options.

Though there had been no talk among the Democrats of releasing terror suspects among the American populace, his statement suggested there had been such discussions. Then, to try to clarify, he dug a deeper hole stating, "We don't want them put in prisons in the United States, we don't want them around the United States."

The question arose, then, that the Obama Administration was asking for money for closing Guantanamo Bay without setting out how the money would be spent.

Reid claimed "Not at all," while his fellow Democrat, Dick Durbin responded, "Yes."

These comments come from a well known partisan super-spender who recently also bungled the handling of Illinois Senator Roland Burris, stating that Burris would never be seated. He bowed to public pressure, when an outcry arose over his comments.

His popularity in Nevada is in trouble, but the GOP hasn't found a candidate to unseat Reid with, yet.

Nonetheless, between Obama's gaffes, Pelosi's accusations that the CIA is full of a bunch of liars, and Reid's inability to get facts straight, the Democratic Party is running into some trouble, and considering the fact that Reid's Senate Seat is up in 2010, it may be very possible the Republicans will take his seat in the next election.

As an added note, after Harry Reid vowed that Guantanamo detainees would never be released on American soil, Michele Flournoy, the under secretary of Defense for policy, said "I think there will be some that need to end up in the United States."

California Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein echoed Ms. Flournoy, saying she favored moving Gitmo Bay prisoners to the United States.

Iran Tests Missile That Can Reach Israel

In response to Obama's soft talk and appeasing dialogue, Iran test-fired a missile capable of striking Israel. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, desired to show the world Iran's strength. The launch is a clear refusal of the dialogue offered by President Barack Obama.

As Iran threatens to destabilize the region, the launch of the missile, coupled with the Islamic Republic's thirst for nuclear weapons, and the pending fall of Pakistan, sends a clear message to Israel.

Israel, before this launch, called up missile reservists, and has stepped up training operations in the Mediterranean Sea - evidence, some would say, that Israel is preparing for confrontation in the Middle East.

The missile test also follows President Obama's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which time Obama urged Netanyahu to engage in diplomacy with Iran, and the Palestinians. Obama also urged that Israel accept a "two-state" solution with the Palistinians, an opportunity for statehood that Palestinians have rejected numerous times in the past. Speculation suggests that Palestinian rejection of the two-state solution reveals that Palestinians want more than a part of Jerusalem, and the peripheral territories. Palestinians desire to take the land of Israel. If Palestinians do accept a two-state solution, it will be because they see it as an opportunity to eventually eliminate Israel. Iran's missile test may give them that assurance.

Hamas viewed Obama's meeting with Netanyahu as a means of deception.

Jewish Temple Target of Alleged Terrorist Bomb Plot in New York City

The FBI, tonight, arrested four men for planning to bomb a Jewish temple in New York City. The Associated Press and The New York Times are reporting that the arrests of the men for the alleged plot comes after a long-running undercover operation conducted by federal agents.

Republican Peter King of New York, the senior Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, said of the arrests, ". . . it shows how real the threat is from homegrown terrorists."

As I have said before, we don't have to fear the arrival of Islamic terrorists to the United States - they are already here.

What if Bush Did What Obama Has Done?

I wonder how the liberal left would have reacted if:

If George W. Bush had made sure he appeared on as many television shows as possible, including the Jay Leno Tonight Show. . .

If George W. Bush, while on television with Jay Leno, had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics . . .

If George W. Bush had demanded the removal of Winston Churchill's bust from the White House . . .

If George W. Bush had given Tony Blair a set of inexpensive and useless (to Tony Blair's UK video formatting) DVDs, when Tony Blair had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift . . .

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches . . .

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia . . .

If George W. Bush had mispronounced "Orion" when using the firm as an example of innovation in a speech . . .

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language" . . .

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who turned out to be a bunch of tax cheats . . .

If George W. Bush promised to reject lobbyists in his cabinet, then appointed lobbyists throughout his cabinet . . .

If George W. Bush had ordered the CEO of a major corporation to resign, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so . . .

If George W. Bush disregarded folks protesting (tea parties) his policies as minor irritations . . .

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year . . .

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years . . .

If the Bush Administration had allowed Air Force One to fly low over New York City while 9/11 remains fresh in the minds of New Yorkers . . .

If after promising transparency in government George W. Bush had refused to release the photographs of Air Force One flying over New York City . . .

If George W. Bush had claimed tax cuts for family's earning less than $250,000 per year, and then the fiscal budget set the income threshold at $200,000 per year . . .

If George W. Bush had called Democrats "bitter" . . .

If George W. Bush's Department of Homeland Security had released a report calling liberals "leftwing extremists," and possible "domestic terrorists" . . .

===

So, please help me understand how Obama is so brilliant and impressive.

When Global Warming Wasn't Man-Made

As Alaska Glaciers Melt, It's Land That's Rising - The New York Times, Cornelia Dean

Man-made Global Warming has President Obama taking more control of private industry by unveiling a plan to sharply increase federal gas mileage rules for vehicles sold in the United States, a similar plan to the one that backfired and failed during the 1970s. The newest installment of the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards have the same deadly nuances as the standards applied over thirty years ago, and promises to result in the same deadly results. To fall within the government rules newer cars will have to get even smaller, lighter, and less crashworthy.

Obama is placing these deadly fuel economy rules on the heads of automakers to produce vehicles that consumers do not want because he believes the foolish notion that mankind somehow has the ability with our miniscule contribution of greenhouse gases to change the temperature of the planet, causing a worldwide crisis that only Al Gore and his fans truly believes is on the horizon.

CAFE standards, in reality, have been blamed for being the cause of thousands of deaths per year, and to increase the standards to make vehicles even smaller, using lighter materials that are unable to withstand an impact, is suicidal.

While the debate in Washington over tightening CAFE standards as a global warming measure rages, the "consensus" regarding man-made global warming is losing its supporters. On a continuous basis scientists are hopping off the bandwagon, and declaring that there is either not enough evidence to support Gore's claims, or that from a scientific standpoint, Al Gore's inconvenient truth is a convenient lie.

Articles like Cornelia Dean's piece about how Alaska's land is rising because the weight on the land by glaciers is being relieved due to melting contributes to the Global Warming hysteria. In the article she quotes a golf course owner who is planning to add holes to the course now that the sea is receding as a result of melting glaciers. She explains that "Relieved of billions of tons of glacial weight, the land has risen much as a cusion. . . after someone gets up from a couch. . . Land is emerging from the water to replace the lost wetlands, shifting property boundaries."

Did she consider there might be other causes of the land rising? Perhaps seas are receeding, or perhaps (of which she mentions casually) tectonic science can explain the rise of landmasses.

As for the Global Warming part of the argument, aside from the fact that the Antarctic ice is expanding, remember that Greenland was once green, and even Dean's article in the New York Times states warming began 200 years ago (long before mankind could be causing it).

When will the Left finally admit they are wrong about Global Warming, and that the Leftist politicians are only using it as an excuse to squeeze more taxes out of us, and to exercise more control over us?

My Last Amen - A Simple Look At The Complexities of Politics

Lucy Van Pelt: Aren't the clouds beautiful? They look like big balls of cotton. I could just lie here all day and watch them drift by. If you use your imagination, you can see lots of things in the cloud's formations. What do you think you see, Linus?
Linus Van Pelt: Well, those clouds up there look to me look like the map of the British Honduras on the Caribbean. [points up] That cloud up there looks a little like the profile of Thomas Eakins, the famous painter and sculptor. And that group of clouds over there... [points] ...gives me the impression of the Stoning of Stephen. I can see the Apostle Paul standing there to one side.
Lucy Van Pelt: Uh huh. That's very good. What do you see in the clouds, Charlie Brown?
Charlie Brown: Well... I was going to say I saw a duckie and a horsie, but I changed my mind.

My wife and I sit in the balcony during the early service when we attend church. My pastor is Greg Laurie, and he's a pretty relaxed guy when compared to what I grew up around. As a child, the church that dominated my early teachings in Christianity was Calvary Baptist Church in Bellflower, California, pastored by Dr. H. Frank Collins.

A rather large church, Calvary Baptist even had school buses that brought children to church who wished to attend when the parents did not. The main sanctuary was a large brick building, and the congregation was a typical fundamental Baptist group. In other words, when Dr. Collins laid out the Bible in the most simple terms, every once in a while someone would utter "Amen," and receive a couple glances afterward.

I suppose that is where I get it from. Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California is a little more upbeat. Jeans and a decorative T-shirt is acceptable attire, while Calvary Baptist sent girls home for dresses that were too short, and discouraged the wearing of pants by the ladies. At Harvest, when moved to do so by song, some of the folks in the pews will raise their hands to God in praise. Applause for a well said sermon note, or enthusiastic verbal responses of approval, are not unheard of.

When Pastor Greg Laurie says something especially relative to my own life, a snippet of absolute truth, or something I find to be very important to the walk of a Christian's life, I simply say "Amen," just as I did so many times at Calvary Baptist Church as a child.

As complex as some Christians make The Faith out to be, I find that a simple "Amen" in response to the simple message of salvation is adequate for me. Though many may feel comfortable discussing the Christian Faith with complex, esoteric language of academic theology, I tend to see God as a being that is much less complicated. Don't get me wrong. I have a deep appreciation for the complexities of theology. But when you lay it all out on the table, the message of salvation and God's Love is rather simple, and a simple "Amen" is more than enough confirmation that in its simplicity, the message is powerful and rich with love and common sense.

Politics is similar in many ways. Sometimes I will be in a room full of my friends who proudly remind me that they have a West Point or Naval Academy education. Some of my friends are Stanford, Occidental, Pepperdine, Harvard, and Yale graduates, and they use the academic vocabulary that goes along with their years of studies when articulating the complexities of our current political environment. And while discussing politics with them, though they congratulate me for my incredible political insight and logic, sometimes around them I feel like Charlie Brown looking up at the clouds seeing duckies and horsies, while the academics discuss the more complex issues of derivatives, and Obama's disastrous Cap and Trade tax.

To me, however, it is all really simple, and it should be simple. After all, the U.S. Constitution was written for the people, and for that reason the founding fathers kept it simple, and easy to understand. The first three words do not say "We the Lawyers," or "We the Government." The first three words of The Preamble are "We the People" for a reason.

Amen.

When it comes to economics, the logic is simple. If you spend more than you have coming in, eventually it is going to catch up to you. I don't care how many complex models you use to explain the complexities of the financial market, in the end, spending more than what is coming in eventually ends in disaster. It is true for households, businesses, and churches. Government is no different. Deficit spending cannot be sustained, and will eventually collapse an economy. I don't care what party the leaders are members of. It doesn't change the facts. If you don't have the money, don't spend it.

Amen.

Abstinence is the only 100% reliable form of birth control. This is not to say that other forms of birth control should not be used. If a married couple does not feel they are ready to have a child in their lives, by all means, use contraception. But to argue that teaching the younger generation to practice abstinence doesn't work is ridiculous. The Left has been handing out condoms to kids, putting them in front of sex education videos, and throwing around the "safe sex" mantra for years. How is that working out for you?

Due to human nature, of which I believe our nature is one determined to do the wrong thing if left unchecked, we will never be 100% successful in any strategy used. But to downplay abstinence is insane. We don't tell our kids that it is okay to steal, as long as they use safe methods. We don't encourage our kids to lie, using safe lying methods. No matter what, those behaviors are destructive. Sex outside of marriage is destructive as well, carrying with it the possibilities of consequences that are usually too horrid to even dare imagine. Sex outside of marriage is no longer just about the danger of pregnancy, or getting some minor venereal disease. In the simplest terms, taking into consideration the presence of AIDS, sex outside of marriage can cause death. Imagine the world we would live in if folks practiced Biblically based abstinence outside of marriage. STDs would be all but gone, abortion would be rare if in existence at all, many families would hold together and remain an all important building block of the nation, rather than splitting up because of the selfish sexual desires of a cheating spouse, the porn industry would dwindle and die, and sexual intercourse would return to its rightful place as a special moment of intimacy between a married man and a woman, rather than being some casual toy used for a quick fix of animalistic pleasure.

Amen.

Workers are going to go where the greatest potential for income is. Companies are going to conduct business where the greatest potential for profit is. It is not about doing what is best for their country, unfortunately, and as much as I wish it was, the need for profit in order to keep the doors open is a stronger drive than patriotism. Therefore, if a company is finding it difficult to make a profit in a particular environment because of a workforce backed by unions that demand outrageous benefits, or in an environment where the taxation, regulations, and government intrusions are not beneficial to conducting business, the corporation is going to go where the environment is more business friendly. Basic economics: Product A was manufactured nearby and costs $20, and Product B was manufactured in some foreign country and costs $10. In the long run, most people are going to purchase product B, and if the only way to make Product A competitive in quality and price is to move the production plant outside the U.S., the business will do so. Not because of greed, or because they aren't patriotic. They do so in order to be able to sell Product A - because if they don't start selling the products soon, they will be filing for bankruptcy. So, the simple resolution to the problem is to make the business environment less hostile here in America by cutting corporate taxes, eliminating the federal intrusions we see on the rise, and backing off on regulations that does not allow the industry to produce the products in a manner they feel will be most marketable.

Amen.

Reducing taxes allows citizens to keep more of what they make, as the founders originally intended. This enables the people to increase consumption, which increases consumer spending, which increases production, which creates more jobs. More jobs and a higher profit by companies then result in increased revenue despite the drop in tax percentage because everyone is making more money, and the increased amount of income equals an increase amount of income that can be taxed. Raising taxes, or taxing the citizen with nickel and dime taxes like cigarette taxes, fuel taxes, and the like, discourages the consumer, which in turn lowers consumption, reduces productivity, and results in a loss of jobs and profit - in turn dropping the amount of revenue received by the government, despite the raised rate of taxation. In short, tax and spend policies like the ones currently being employed by the Democrats, is disastrous in the long-run. And, as the revenue drops, in their shallow little minds, they will think the only way to save us is to raise taxes, further damaging the dying economy, and killing the drive for achievement. This is why Obama recently made the statement that his spending tactics can't be sustained. It is a setup for raising taxes.

Amen.

Marriage belongs to God. In the eyes of God, a marriage is between a man and a woman. For the Gay Agenda to attempt to hijack marriage, it is a direct assault on faith, and God. The homosexuals would not desire for the government to pass a law requiring Bible Studies to be held in Gay Night Clubs, and for Bibles to be required reading at these facilities frequented by the gay community. If they want to call themselves "married" in their own community, have at it. Don't redefine marriage from an official standpoint. And it has nothing to do with rights. The same rights of marriage can be obtained through powers of attorney, and numerous other legal means. Face it, the drive for Gay Marriage is nothing more than an attempt to destroy the meaning of marriage, and justify a perverse, unnatural behavior. Gay Marriage is a direct assault on the God that refuses to justify or bless the unholy unions of people who practice the homosexual behavioral fetish.

Amen.

"Infringe," in The American Heritage College Dictionary, is defined as "to violate," or "To encroach on someone or something." The word "Shall" is an absolute. In current language the meaning has changed to mean "should," but in the archaic language used in the Bible, and in the U.S. Constitution, "Shall" means "must." In the years of the American Revolution, and the time preceding the birth of this nation, the Colonies did not have a standing army. So, in order to defend itself, America used a militia. This well regulated militia comprised of local farmers, store keepers, or whoever else was willing to take up arms to protect the homeland from tyranny. The founding fathers saw this militia, which was basically armed citizens willing to fight for liberty on a moments notice, as a necessity for the security of the free state America was becoming. Therefore, they wrote the Second Amendment to read as follows: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. - Meaning, the federal government cannot in any way restrict or violate our right to own and carry firearms. To take away our right to do so will open up America to foreign invasion, internal tyranny, and turn the populace into what they were before the American Revolution: Subjects.

Amen.

I only cover an handful of issues, here, and there are so many more that weigh heavily on my heart. For some what I just wrote may seem as simplistic as duckies and horsies, and that is fine. As for me, when I die, I don't wish my legacy to be one that was of complacency, regardless of whether my explanations were filled with academic conjecture, or laid out in the simplest terms. I do not wish to be remembered as one that failed to stand up for what is right because I believed the propaganda of the rising evil when they proclaimed it is all just "too complex for right-minded individuals to understand." I desire that after I go to be with the Lord that folks will look at my writings and proclaim that I recognized what the founding fathers intended, and that I was willing to stand up and be counted for in this battle between good and evil that has erupted around us in this great nation.

I want my final words to be remembered as my last "Amen."

Obama At Notre Dame on Abortion: The Great Contradiction

The invitation of President Barack Obama to Notre Dame is a lesson in America's tumble into moral ambiguity. Popular culture is making truth relative. Standing on moral grounds has become the behavior of an extremist, in the eyes of the Left. Having dialogue and a diversity of opinion to them means allowing evil into our Christian institutions, and silencing anyone who rejects murder and perverted behavior as acceptable, normal life decisions.

There are some things that you can't have dialogue on. Child killing is one of those issues on the top of the list. Abortion during any time of a pregnancy, partial-birth abortion, and infanticide, which is a procedure that permits the destruction of a living child after he or she survives the attempt to kill it in an abortion, deserve no dialogue.

However, Notre Dame's president, Father John Jenkins, and President Barack Obama, believes that dialogue must be opened regarding the issue of abortion.

Killing children before they have a chance to move on to the next developmental stage of life is not something that can be compromised on. There is no middle ground.

Either, the unborn child is a living baby, or it is a blob of tissue.

If it is a blob of tissue, then for the Left, the argument should end there.

Obama, however, stated that even though he is pro-choice, he believes that the number of abortions should be lessened. Specifically, Obama said, "So let us work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions. Let’s reduce unintended pregnancies. Let’s make adoption more available. Let’s provide care and support for women who do carry their children to term."

If abortion is good, if the child inside of the mother is nothing more than a lifeless blob that won't be missed, and is dispensable, then why seek to reduce the number of abortions? Obama, in an attempt to appeal to both sides of the debate, crossed himself. By declaring that the number of abortions should be lessened, he is declaring that abortions are a bad thing. If they are a bad thing, then the question must be asked, "Why are abortions a bad thing."

They must be a bad thing - Obama has stated that the number of abortions must be reduced.

The argument by pro-abortion activists is that the fetus is not a child. It is simple the property of the mother that can be disposed of at will.

If the fetus is not a child, then why the concern to lower the abortion numbers, Mr. Obama?

Obama's declaration that the number must be reduced is an admittance that the practice of killing children in the womb is evil.

But it goes farther.

If the mother has the decision to dispose of the child, or carry it to term, this places the mother in a position of ownership over the child. The child no longer has the individual right to live, using this logic, meaning that the right to live belongs to the mother.

The baby's rights are owned by the mother.

You would think that an African-American like Obama would be opposed to one human's rights being owned by another human, considering his heritage as a Black, which directly links him to the issue of the history of American Slavery.

Obama Proclaims Spending Cannot be Sustained

Let me get this straight. Obama has been proclaiming that the only way to save us from certain catastrophe of the economic kind is for the government to spend our way out of it. Then, once he sets in motion the greatest deficit spending splurge in the history of the nation, he calls current deficit spending unsustainable.

No kidding! Conservatives have been saying that all along.

Of course, his cuts are too small to notice, and the spending cuts are not being applied where they really should be.

So, in short, the biggest spender of all time, which blames the deficit on the fact that he inherited it from Bush (which I admit never saw a spending bill he didn't like), though Obama's spending dwarfs what he inherited, after signing a string of costly bailout and stimulus measures, believes his own spending trend is unsustainable, and something must be done about it, even though he is unwilling to do anything because he is a liberal Democrat, and that is what lefties like him do - they tax and spend and spend and spend. . .

Enviro-Friendly House Goes for $900,000, and is a complete failure

Pipes in the Floor Explode Due To Freezing Cold Weather
Last Friday Rush Limbaugh discussed an Enviromentally-friendly house that is setting us backwards. As you can see in the picture, the house looks more like a trailer. For $900,000 bucks, I'd rather buy a real house instead.

According to our environmentalist whackos, however, this house is environmentally clean, and represents the future. Well, if this is the future, they can keep it.

Limbaugh remarked about the failure of the project on his radio show. He stated that according to the article in his hot little hand, "The floors blew up because the pipes froze. No electricity, no gas. . . We're going to spend billions and billions and billions to "green up" schools. . . We're going to find out that the pipes are gonna freeze. We're going to find out the roof is going to collapse when your average thunderstorm goes through there. We're going to find out that they're going to end up full of mold because of lousy air circulation. The kids are going to get sick from raw wood rot and mold and insects."

I'll keep my electricity guzzling home, thank you. The only green I want when it comes to my life, is the grass on my front lawn. Keep the "green homes" for yourselves, environmentalists, and enjoy returning to the dark ages.

As for me, I'll keep real technology.

Mark of the Beast Invented In Saudi Arabia

Just When You Thought Big Brother Couldn't Get Any More Orwellian. . .

Enemy of the State with a twist. They can track you with satellites, find your doorway with the GPS coordinates shot at your doorway, and now if you try to get away, with the push of a button they can release a lethal poison into your body.

Beware, rightwing extremists, and lovers of the U.S. Constitution, the means to competely control you has arrived.

A Saudi inventor was seeking to bring his insidious killer chip to Germany until the German patent office rejected his request. Germany's laws prohibit inventions that are unethical or a danger to the public. Considering the sinister history of Hitleric proportions, one can understand that law.

The device in question is a tiny semiconductor that is designed to be surgically implanted or injected into the body. The purpose of the device is to track persons using GPS satellite technology, and in the case of the intention on the patent request, to track visitors who are overstaying their visas.

For some, the creation of such a device is not a surprise considering the increasingly percieved need for security. However, it is not a long shot to consider that the device could be used against citizens for more sinister reasons. How far of a stretch is it for the government to use such devices to keep an eye on "undesireables" and those considered to be subversives? The device could be used to track political opponents, as well as the usual suspects of troublesome people, and eliminate them at will.

Though Germany rejected the inventor's device, that does not mean the inventor won't find success in securing a patent for the device in another country.

Joe Biden Reveals Secure, Undisclosed Location of Secret Bunker Designed to Protect Him in Case of Attack

Biden Reveals Location of Secret VP Bunker

Vice President Joe Biden is well-known for his verbal gaffes. Tonight, while attending the Gridiron Club dinner in the place of absent Barack Obama (only the second president ever to miss this dinner), Joe confirmed the existence and location of a secret hidden bunker that is designed to protect him in case of an attack. This same bunker, according to Fox News, is believed to be the same one used by Vice President Dick Cheney after the 9/11 attacks.

Confidential information being spilled out over a casual dinner. Just imagine the other secrets Biden must be giving away.

Biden, one to tell stories, proclaimed with glee at the dinner that a young naval officer gave him a tour of the Vice President's residence and showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment.

The blunder is the latest of many from Biden, who has a long history of political blunders. Between his blunders, Obama's need for a teleprompter to speak relatively coherently, and Pelosi's habitual lying, it is a wonder that Washington DC has not completely fallen into the Potomac by now.

5.0 Earthquake Strikes Los Angeles

A deep, booming quake struck Los Angeles a mile away from the city of Inglewood tonight. The preliminary magnitude is 5.0. The quake was felt as far away as San Diego, and the damage in Inglewood was minimal. I base these facts on the testimony of my listeners on tonight's Political Pistachio Radio program. One of my San Diego listeners asked if I felt the quake, and my Inglewood listener proclaimed that a lightbulb broke during the quake, which was followed by one aftershock. He also stated that he didn't feel the quake as much as he heard it - a big booming sound, he told me.

I am slightly south of the epicenter, and didn't feel a thing.

The New World Order and the Global Recession

Conspiracy theorists used to ramble on about the coming New World Order, arguing that part of what would bring on such a sinister system will be the drive for a global currency. Then, the conspiracy became a headline when at the G-20 Summit British Prime Minister Gordon Brown proclaimed that the New World Order was on the horizon.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is being seen by some as the vessel to bring about a global currency, and to bring about the reality of a global governance.

Rob Roselli maintains that bankers created the Federal Reserve for the reason of creating something like the IMF, and unless we realize this soon and change direction, the United States many not be able to escape a perilous future of globalism, and the New World Order.

The author of "The THEorYofLIVEvolution," Rob Roselli is my guest tonight on Political Pistachio Radio, and he believes the drive for a "New World Order" is afoot, and it is not an accident. Join the program live at 7pm Pacific/10pm Eastern, or on archive, HERE.
