Hard Starboard Radio: Obama's Race To Chaos
The anti-RFRA backlash is a perfect storm of hysteria and legal ignorance; Letting Iran get nuclear weapons is the most catastrophic decision in the history of humanity; "Under Obama, we have switched sides, an abomination that ensures a legacy of infamy"; The epitome of an Obama fiasco; and what Obama does because he doesn't have to care what anybody says - and, you know, is a dictator who can make any opponent "disappear" at his whim.
The end is near at 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific.
Obamunist Economist Deletes Tweet Calling Christians “Nazis” Over Indiana’s RFRA

Above is the Christ-hater, ElizabethAsshat Ass-Hack Ashack.
Below is her tweet:
Here's what she did with it:
I think we know....
What is the Obama Labor Commissariat doing about this? About what you'd expect:
i.e. MissAsshat Ass-Hack Ashack has a greater chance of being clonged on the noggin by a stray meteorite than she does being disciplined for her rather public indulgence in hate speech, because the Regime for which she works shares that Christophobic hatred.
For the actual story on Indiana's (and twenty other States', plus the federal) Religious Freedom Restoration Act, click here.
As to MissAsshat's Ass-Hack's Ashack's originally tweeted sentiments, I think the noted evangelist George Carlin said it in his own inimitable, NSFW way:
What can I say, Liz? When it comes to slurs like this against my brothers and sisters in Christ, I've always been kind of a "son of thunder".

Below is her tweet:
Here's what she did with it:
She has deleted the tweet which reads, “people in the red states vote for nazis to govern, and then call themselves Christian, it will not end well for them. #BoycottIndiana”. Now first off, that’s a run-on sentence. You would think an economist would have a better grasp of the English language. Secondly, doesn’t that sound like a threat? How is this gonna end badly for Christians again?
I think we know....
What is the Obama Labor Commissariat doing about this? About what you'd expect:
A Labor Department spokeswoman told The Blaze that Miss Ashack still works for the agency and “the matter is under review.” The spokeswoman had no estimate of how long the review might take, The Blaze reported.

Iranian Nuclear Armageddon Dreams Of His Father
by JASmius
Well, I guess Syrian Opposition Strategist Mohi ad-Din al-Ladikani is a Tea Party Republican racist, then:
The translation, per Zaid Benjamin of Radio SAWA, is that al-Ladikani asserted that Barack Obama is supporting Iran because his father was a Shiite Muslim from Kenya.
Truth has the oddest sources sometimes, doesn't it? And what does it say about the state of this country that a Syrian TV analyst says something so plausible and, frankly, self-evident about The One that no Republican would ever dare to allow within their own thoughts even as a passing random neuron flicker?
Exit question: Will O bomb Syria now?

This kid can't be Muslim, can he? Arab, sure, that's an ethnicity, but Muslim? Would any Muslim publicly give voice to words wickedly kneecapping Israel's enemies and vehemently defending the Jewish State at the UnitedMuslim Nations?
This lad is so brave. And so dead.
It's such a crying shame that he's got zero chance of being granted political asylum in the U.S.
Why? You know why.....
Young Mr. Hussain has done a whoooooole lotta "slanderin'". I hope his imminent martyrdom accomplishes something.

Obama Supports Military Retirement Pay Cuts
by JASmius
Actually a bit more of a nuanced issue, for a change. But it still leaves near-term discharged veterans high and dry:
And if the story ended there, it would be the usual Red Barry double-extended middle-fingers to his enemies to which we've grown accustomed over the past six-plus years. Not that he isn't looking at this with the green eyeshade mentality he eschews and vilifies when it comes to doling out the goodies to his own constituencies - he most certainly is - but this isn't simply throwing vets into the nearest snowbank to eat Alpo:
This is what's known as an "employer matching contribution". It is, essentially, additional gross pay that is income tax-deferred and is never subject to FICA and Medicare levies at all. It goes into a qualified retirement (defined contribution) plan, there to earn a return per the mutual funds into which it is invested along with the percentage of gross pay deferred by the employee. DOD itself cites 401(k) plans as the template they are using and recommending for this plan.
The catch, though, is that in civilian DC plans, the employee can't touch it until age 59.5. I don't know what the equivalent age would be for military retirement plans, but I would imagine it would be twenty years after discharge at the very least. And that does pose a problem, because military pay isn't exactly lucrative, even with family, housing, and other allowances, even for officers. So the "employer" matching contribution is a higher percentage of a very low gross base in the first place. Whether the present value of the "employer" match is greater or less than the status quo direct military pension payments, I don't know. Although it's probably a pretty good bet that they're lower, and this move does constitute an obfuscated military retirement pay cut.
"Fiscal sustainability" is not a term Barack Obama makes much of a habit of uttering. This means, of course, that since veterans - whom his VA is still neglecting unto death to this day - aren't one of his constituencies, he's free to whack away at their goodies - which they, unlike any other federal welfare recipient, really DID earn. Whereas the "fiscal sustainability" of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare, civilian federal pensions, etc. are orders of magnitude more grave, and need logarithmically larger such privatization overhauls than the military retirement system.
But that will never happen, because senior citizens, the "poor," public employee unions, and, well, everybody else, ARE Barack Obama's pawns, and there is no way in hell he will ever relinquish his leverage over their votes.
It makes one wonder how many vets, particularly injured combat veterans, regret the sacrifices they made defending our former freedoms, given that We, The People, have almost entirely forfeited them at the ballot box. That almost to a man (and woman), they would say, "Hell, no!" is a testament to the quality of human being that undertakes the defense of such corrupt, ignorant, and ungrateful countrymen, and their leaders' green eyeshade costume fetishes. Which is why they deserve so much better.
Actually a bit more of a nuanced issue, for a change. But it still leaves near-term discharged veterans high and dry:
Barack Obama said Monday that he supports the idea of reducing military retirement pay by about 20%.
According to the Washington Times, Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders saying he favors the recommendations put forth by a military commission.
Under the plan, troops serving at least twenty years would not be affected and would continue to receive full retirement benefits. Those serving [fewer] than twenty years, however, would have their retirement checks slashed by about 20%.
On the other hand, the proposal would help boost troops' retirement savings accounts, as the Department of Defense would contribute up to 6% of a soldier's basic pay for those serving more than two years. Under the current system, the Defense Department automatically contributes 1%.
Although it's probably a pretty good bet that they're lower, and this move does constitute an obfuscated military retirement pay cut.
The proposals are "an important step forward in protecting the long-term viability of the all-volunteer force, improving quality-of-life for service members and their families, and ensuring the fiscal sustainability of the military compensation and retirement systems," Obama wrote, according to the Times. [emphasis added]
"Fiscal sustainability" is not a term Barack Obama makes much of a habit of uttering. Red Barry's War Surplus Emporium

It's almost like a fire, or liquidation, sale, isn't it? And, given that Barack Obama is as bent on blanketly disarming the United States as he is arming all our enemies, I would suggest that there's no "almost" about it:
Don't you just love the cavalier ambiguity of that phrase? The Obamagon "lost track" of sensitive equipment from a counter-terrorism weapons program that jihadists, once in possession of it, can reverse-engineer in order to better conceal their roadside IEDs (wherever they may be deployed). As if to say, "WHOOPS! There goes another rubber tree plant...." Oh, well, we'll try to be more careful the next time! No worries! It's not as though they're Islamic and out to kill us all or anything, right?
Kind of like if they required all their pilots to fly blindfolded. And then, whaddaya know, the Navy would start "losing track of" entire squadrons of F/A-18 Hornets, EC-3 Hawkeyes, the Naval version of the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning (if they have any), etc.
If you're browsing around on Ebay one day and you come across an item purporting to solicit bids on a fully-loaded Harrier jump jet, or perhaps even an entire aircraft carrier battle group, now you'll know the story behind its availability - and the bargain basement price tag.
Only caveat might be that the bidding may be limited to Muslim buyers only.

The Pentagon lost track of sensitive equipment from a $750 million program to help U.S. soldiers spot roadside bombs — and some of it wound up for sale on eBay, Craigslist and other websites, according to a Navy intelligence document obtained by The Intercept.
Don't you just love the cavalier ambiguity of that phrase? It's not as though they're Islamic and out to kill us all or anything, right?
The missing equipment includes thermal optic imaging and night vision devices that were supplied to U.S. forces to help locate improvised explosive devices, the leading killer of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, as well as related threats. “Since 2009, some of this advanced hardware has been reported as missing and is actively being sold or discussed on the global market on a variety of websites,” says an intelligence brief by the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service and its Multiple Threat Alert Center.
The bomb-detecting equipment was provided as part of a larger program called RCOS/Keyhole, which was funded by the Pentagon’s bomb-fighting agency, known as the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), and administered by the U.S. Navy.
JIEDDO has been heavily criticized over the years for expending large sums of money without attaining clear results. According to a 2012 report by the Government Accountability Office, JIEDDO had spent over $18 billion yet lacked an effective way to oversee its programs.

Barry U. Joins Cornell In Pro-ISIS Fan Club

....along, apparently, with the rest of American academia:
I don't want to poop on the "academic freedom" parade or anything, Allah knows, but seeing what American academia is doing with that freedom, might it not be about time to yank back on those particular reins? I know loyalty oaths are all "McCarthyite" any everything, but is not open identification with and support of a declared, bloodthirsty enemy of the United States not, well, treason? Shouldn't this be cracked down upon?
Just listen to "Laura" almost bending over backwards to let on that this was a PV parody sting, and Mr. Bley not only not getting it, but enthusiastically endorsing every outrageously ridiculous thing she said. It's like he's already orange-jumpsuited and in his cage happily awaiting incineration:
The valley girl motif was a nice touch.
An homage to State Commissariat deputy spokesbimbo Marie Harf, who said last month on MSNBCCCP that, "We cannot kill our way out of this war' with ISIS," and that we should, "go after the root causes that lead people to join these groups," including "lack of opportunity for jobs." Something that, of course, the Obama Regime has been pointedly preventing here for over six years.
"Laura" then really ramped up the pro-ISIS absurdity, doubtless wondering what it would take to get this educratic fop to finally balk:
And Mr. Bley bought it. Every last ludicrous word. And so did several of his colleagues. The only caveats raised were the logistical difficulties of getting all these "CAIR package" shipments to eastern Syria and northern Iraq and the need to obfuscate this "club's" name to hide its true purpose:
Which evidently doesn't mean jack bleep to Barry University (and isn't that an appropriate name? You really can't make this stuff up).
Check.
"....that they're all Islamophobes."
These are the perfidious devilspawn that are running this country, ladies and gentlemen - all the way to the very top. And sixty-two million gerbils, hamsters, lemmings, and traitors put and kept them there.
And there's not a damned thing we can do about it.
Is there?
....along, apparently, with the rest of American academia:
Administrators at a Catholic university in Florida agreed to help an honors student start a campus club that would send money and supplies to the ISIS terror army.
Hidden camera footage released Monday morning shows officials and faculty at Barry University advising a senior – identified only as 'Laura' – about the best way to secure funding for a club she called 'Sympathetic Students in Support of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.'
'I want to start fundraising efforts on campus, and what I want to do is raise funds to send overseas,' she told Derek Bley, the school's Coordinator for Leadership Development and Student Organizations.
Bley offered to help her create the organization and agreed with her request to 'pass out Islamic State flags and educate people' at an annual student 'Festival of Nations' fair.
The video is from Project Veritas, a conservative 'guerilla film-making group' that last week captured a Cornell University dean agreeing that ISIS and Hamas would be welcome at the Ivy League school.
Laura put the murderous ISIS army's credentials front-and-center.
'They are terrorists,' she told Bley, 'but, like, we're trying to help them. We're trying to, like, educate them and give them funding so that they don't have to be impoverished and get involved in acts of violence.'
The valley girl motif was a nice touch.
'You should create jobs and help promote education in the Islamic State,' she added later, 'because that's what helps reduce terrorism.'
At one point Laura expanded her fictional club's mandate to include providing paper and pencils to the 'widows and orphans' of dead ISIS jihadis.
Another part of her pitch to college officials was a mission that included providing flashlights to ISIS fighters and their families.
'A lot of the facilities have been destroyed' in Iraq and Syria, she said, 'so there is not a lot of electricity and power.'
'A lot of the fighters, they can't see at night, you know?' she continued. 'So, like, people are attacking them and they can't see at night. And because they are so poor, like, they don't have night vision and stuff.'
And Mr. Bley bought it. Every last ludicrous word. And so did several of his colleagues. The only caveats raised were the logistical difficulties of getting all these "CAIR package" shipments to eastern Syria and northern Iraq and the need to obfuscate this "club's" name to hide its true purpose:
'The only thing, as far as the name [goes],' she heard from Frederique Frage, the university's associate director of international and multicultural programs, is that 'technically our country is at war with ISIS'.
Which evidently doesn't mean jack bleep to Barry University (and isn't that an appropriate name? You really can't make this stuff up).
Frage was quick to add: 'I am not saying that – at all – ISIS represents Islam.'
Check.
But students might have 'some reservation' supporting a group engaged in a 'humanitarian effort' aimed at the terror group, she said. 'It's just unfortunate.'
"....that they're all Islamophobes."
Another multicultural program administrator, Daisy Santiago, chimed in that Laura should rename her group 'Students in Support of the Middle East' – 'as opposed to having the 'ISIS' [name].'
A professor who runs the university's honors program later agreed to serve as the pro-ISIS club's faculty advisor.
Laura explained that despite a less focused name that didn't include any mention of terror groups, her organization's mission would remain 'raising money and sending it to the Islamic State.'
Professor Pawena Sirimangkala responded: 'I'll sign. I'm glad to do it.'
These are the perfidious devilspawn that are running this country, ladies and gentlemen - all the way to the very top. And sixty-two million gerbils, hamsters, lemmings, and traitors put and kept them there.

Two Transvestites Attack NSA Headquarters
by JASmius
Headlines you never thought you'd ever write.
I wonder if they saw them coming:
Man, I can hardly wait for the updates on this story, can you?
Such as....:
One thing we already know for certain: The Obama Regime will never attribute this attack to terrorism. Which almost guarantees that that is precisely what this was. Probably of the "lone wolf" variety, but terrorism nonetheless. All that remains is to learn that the two "boys named Saladin" were of Middle Eastern decent, or recent American converts to Islam, and collect the White House's standard "random act of violence" boilerplate, and this story will be in the proverbial can.
Here's another thought, though: If there's more to the "posing as women" angle than just costuming, would that not inject a stiff dose of literalism into the phrase "militant homosexuals"? Or have the Ronulans/Paulnuts really gone nuts?
Headlines you never thought you'd ever write.
I wonder if they saw them coming:
One person is dead and two others are injured following an incident at the gate of National Security Agency headquarters in Maryland Monday morning, officials say.
A firefight erupted when two people in a car tried to ram a gate at Fort Meade, the U.S. Army installation that houses the NSA, according to preliminary reports cited by two U.S. officials.
The officials said at least one of the people in the car died as a result of the gunfire. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss an ongoing incident on the record.
U.S. law enforcement officials also tell CBS News that cocaine and a weapon were found in or near the vehicle, and that investigators believe the people in the car were men dressed as women.
Man, I can hardly wait for the updates on this story, can you?
Such as....:
There is no indication that the incident was terrorism-related. The FBI is also investigating the shooting.

Supreme Court Rejects ObamaCare Death Panel Challenge
by JASmius
Remember how we were all rock-solid certain three years ago that the SCOTUS would strike down the Individual Mandate as the unconstitutional fine it really is, and then Chief Justice John Roberts and the Obamunist wing....didn't? Remember the King v. Burwell case challenging the legality of federal ObamaCare subsidies that the Unaffordable Care-Less Act explicitly omits from its text that Olympus will hear and rule on in June?
This development does nothing to bolster O-Care foes' confidence:
Does anybody still believe that the SCOTUS won't side with the Regime on this case as well? Does it not illustrate vividly anew the futility of resorting to the federal courts and that the only way out from under ObamaCare is via Congress and a Scott Walker presidency? And does that not illustrate why an Obama coup de tat is becoming more and more likely?

This development does nothing to bolster O-Care foes' confidence:
The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a new challenge to Barack Obama's healthcare law that took aim at a bureaucratic board labeled by some as a "death panel" because it was designed to cut Medicare costs.
The high court left intact a ruling by the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that threw out the lawsuit.
The court's action in an unsigned order was a victory for Obama administration, which has faced a barrage of legal challenges to the 2010 [Una]ffordable Care[-Less] Act, often called ObamaCare. The court is currently weighing a separate case challenging health insurance subsidies that are key to ObamaCare's implementation.
A ruling is due by the end of June.
Does anybody still believe that the SCOTUS won't side with the Regime on this case as well? Does it not illustrate vividly anew the futility of resorting to the federal courts and that the only way out from under ObamaCare is via Congress and a Scott Walker presidency? Germanwings Pilot Body Parts Found
By Douglas V. Gibbs
Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings co-pilot that deliberately crashed a passenger plane into the ground last week has been found, all over the Alps. The traces of Lubitz's body was found among the crash debris in the mountains. Other bodies have been found, and family members are being asked to give DNA samples to help in the identification process. Forensics experts have confirmed that Lubitz's remains were among the body parts located. Experts expect that the majority of victims will be identified and certified dead by the end of April, identifying 78 separate DNA strands from body parts at the crash site - of the more than 150 victims.
The flight data recorder has not been located, and some officials doubt it will ever be found. The device may have information to help authorities determine the motive for the co-pilot's decision to crash the plane, while locking the pilot out of the cockpit. Considering the speed of the plane, almost 500 mph at the time of crash, it has been one consideration that the recorder was pulverized by the sudden impact.
While officials continue to blame mental illness for the actions of Lubitz, and still designate the investigation a manslaughter inquiry rather than upgrading it to a murder probe, the politically correct Europeans are still refusing to take into account the connections the co-pilot had to Islam, and the press has refused to report that evidence shows Lubitz was a Muslim convert and that his decision to purposely crash the plane was an act of terrorism.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel's political allies have been calling for a relaxation of Germany's privacy laws, so as to better enable persons in sensitive jobs to be identified if they have mental illness, or other factors, that may affect their ability to properly do their job.

Iranian Defector: U.S. Secretly Helping Iran

It isn't that much of a secret, actually, but maybe it will attract more public and congressional attention to Barack Obama's treasonous perfidy:
We can take this as confirmation of our worst suspicions - assuming, of course, that Mr. Motaghi's claims can be trusted. It's always possible that his defection is a swerve, that he's an intelligence operative, that the Russians, ChiComms, British, French, and Germans aren't going to sign off on this unconditional surrender "deal," and the mullahs, who are going to do as they please with their nukes regardless, are indulging in deliberate public exposure and humiliation of Barack Obama in order to further demolish whatever tattered international credibility the United States had left. Certainly Moscow and Beijing would have no problems with that outcome, since they're both pro-Iranian as well and are perfectly well aware that these "negotiations" have been a fraud from day one.
Or it could be that Mr. Motaghi is on the level - he's said to be a friend of jailed Iranian-American journalist Jason Rezaian and had been lobbying internally for his release - a genuine Iranian insider who has bailed and is sounding the alarm about U.S.-Iranian collusion.
As I wrote Friday night, there's just an ominous feeling about the Obama Regime's furious push to give the mullahs everything they want and more, like something terrible is going to happen very soon as a result of it, and we are helpless to stop O from selling us and Europe and Israel out and the Iranians from using the nuclear weapons he's effectively gifting them. It's only the surreality and unfathomability of a president of the United States actually and openly betraying his own country and its allies to our enemy that is keeping us - by which I mean most pointedly, Congress - from fully realizing what is happening and about to happen and at least attempting to do something, anything, to stop it.
Time is running out, in short. Except that time may have run out on November 6th, 2012, just as I've been saying ever since. In which case, America's "times of sorrows" may only be just beginning.
UPDATE: We are so screwed:
Should we not dub this "the Obamic bomb"? Might as well start getting acclimated.
It isn't that much of a secret, actually, but maybe it will attract more public and congressional attention to Barack Obama's treasonous perfidy:
An Iranian journalist and top media aide to Iran's President Hassan Rouhani defected while covering the nuclear talks in Switzerland and has accused the United States' team of acting on Iran's behalf in the negotiations.
Amir Hossein Motaghi defected late last week, saying he no longer saw any point in his profession in a country whose government told him what to write, the U.K.'s [London Daily] Telegraph reported.
Motaghi told the London-based Irane Farda, an Iranian opposition television station, that the American team is working to convince the other members of the U.N. Security Council nations and Germany – the P5+1 powers.
"The U.S. negotiating team are mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other members of the P5+1 countries and convince them of a deal," he said. [emphases added]
UPDATE: We are so screwed:
[L]ast Friday a reporter ran into Kerry at a chocolate shop in Europe where he is bending over backwards to ensure Iran has everything it wants. The reporter asked Kerry if he believed a deal would be reached by the March 31st deadline.
The response? Kerry reportedly said “inshallah.” Which, when translated to English means “Allah willing.”
Should we not dub this "the Obamic bomb"? Might as well start getting acclimated.

Germanwings Islamikaze Also Homosexual?
by JASmius
My goodness, Andreas Lubitz is proving to be a downright comprehensive embarrassment to the Obamunist-Jihadist Alliance, isn't he? First it emerges that he may have converted to Islam and plowed Flight 9525 into the French Alps as his "holy duty to Allah"; and now comes the discovery that he was a twisted pervert at best, a burgeoning pole-smoker at worst:
That would explain the going-blind part. Also the curly hairs and accompanying "residue" on the, um, cockpit instruments.
Maybe he should have been seeking treatment for his sexuality problems. Quite evidently converting to Islam didn't do anything about them.
Four? That suggests that the first three were telling him things he didn't want to hear, so he kept shopping for the diagnosis he was looking for. Which make his "problems" sound more like "decisions".
Okay, we can check off that box.
Found out about what? His newfound demonic faith? Doesn't seem like much of a concern in twenty-first century Eurabia. His ambiguous sexuality? Doesn't seem like much of a concern in a country and continent that downright celebrates such vile practices. His drug addiction? That might actually be a possibility, although it does raise the question of how nobody connected with Germanwings ever noticed how bleeped up Lubitz was, given that it's awfully difficult to believe that he could have been successfully hiding all of it.
Yet he kept right on "doing his job," calmly and serenely, right into the ground.
Maybe Andreas Lubitz is a worst case pilot scenario - hopefully and prayerfully, he is - but if he's the leading edge of a trend....let's just say I won't be booking any flights to Europe any time soon.
The 27-year-old co-pilot Andreas Lubitz believed to have deliberately crashed Germanwings Flight 4U 9525, killing 149 passengers, feared losing his eyesight and was suffering from severe depression.
A police source in Dusseldorf revealed: “We have a team disassembling his computer, and that of his girlfriend, because the information that we received was that he trawled the dark side of the web visiting, among other things, sites containing gay porn, suicide themes and sexual perversions.”
That would explain the going-blind part. Also the curly hairs and accompanying "residue" on the, um, cockpit instruments.
The reports emerged after police started examining documents and a computer from his flat in Dusseldorf – the same one where ripped-up sick notes were discovered in the rubbish.
Reports have suggested he was troubled by his sexuality and also seeking treatment for vision problems. Lubitz had recent hospital treatment for his eyesight, according to officials close to the German investigation.
Maybe he should have been seeking treatment for his sexuality problems. Quite evidently converting to Islam didn't do anything about them.
It was also revealed that the 27-year-old was treated by four psychiatrists in the months leading up to the fatal plane crash, reported the Sun.
Four? That suggests that the first three were telling him things he didn't want to hear, so he kept shopping for the diagnosis he was looking for. Which make his "problems" sound more like "decisions".
A “small mountain” of drugs believed to be antidepressants were found at Lubitz’s apartment.
Okay, we can check off that box.
Police also found a diary at Lubitz’s Dusseldorf flat in which he wrote of his fears that he would be “found out” and lose his job.
“I have too much work and I am not able to do my job properly,” he noted.
Battlestar Galactica: Six Degrees Of Separation (S1E8)

Written by: Michael Angeli
Directed By: Robert Young
In a nutshell: Baltar blasphemes the Cylon god once too often, Number Six retaliates by somehow showing up in person to frame him as the Benedict Arnold of the human race, facing his worst nightmare drives Baltar into a "foxhole conversion" not much more histrionic than the one he pretended to undergo back in "33," he is immediately "miraculously" exonerated when his Cylon paramour's cooked video evidence is exposed, and a for-the-time-being chastened Baltar is back firmly under Number Six's control. Also still being led around by the penis. But some things are, I suppose, beyond even "god's" ability to redeem.
I guess it's a tribute to the creative staff that this series managed to refrain from resorting to the fabled "reset button" until its eighth installment (counting the pilot as the first). I guess it's also doing me a favor in that there isn't much relevant narrative to review or synopsize. But I still have several problems with this episode.
For one, just exactly how are we supposed to regard the Baltar-Number Six sub-thread? I've observed previously that the only purpose I can see for it is to provide the audience with an insight into Cylon culture and intentions. I also observed just last week that the Cylons seem at cross-purposes, with Number Six adamant that Baltar complete his "Cylon detector" (seeming to suggest that it is to have some other, presumably sinister, purpose) and a Doral clone appearing as if from nowhere to blow it and Baltar into daggit chow. Now we see Number Six toying (again) with the vain, horndog human scientist, while also simultaneously "evangelizing" and satyrizing him - an incoherent combination assuming she's as devout as she puts herself over (and isn't really a member of Our Lady of Scanty Covering) - and in the process doing things that are inexplicable short of the supernatural and, at other times, things that are just really, really stupid.
The question, after all that buildup, is "Are we supposed to take the Baltar-Number Six angle seriously?" Also, does it have a purpose above and beyond making the latter a narrative device, not unlike the Borg Queen on Voyager? I guess you could say that the "Cylon Barbie Doll" has thoroughly reminded Gaius of who's boss ( I was going to say "who wears the pants in their relationship," but given her perpetual state of undress it didn't seem to fit), but by doing a "dry run" of Baltar being exposed as, if not a traitor, at least a really, really weak patsy, and then pulling it back and yelling, "Psyche!" it seems to me that the writers have delivered a significant blow to the seriousness of this plot line. When they decide to do it "for real" down the line, I don't think it will have the same visceral impact as it would have had it not been trivialized preemptively.
Here's another question: where did "Shellie Godfrey" come from? Has she been in the fleet the whole time, using her spatial proximity to Baltar to maintain telepathic contact? It would seem to be the only answer, since the alternative would be an independent "program" in the chip implanted in Baltar's head and a separate Cylon operative being aware of the same situation with the same human at the same time and acting in coordinated fashion. And yet she disappeared almost literally into the ether, walking around a corner with her security escort right on her heels and then vanishing into thin air.
So, where did she go? How did she go? Is she an "angel," able to pop in and out of the physical world, and the minds of humans, at will? Or does she have Borg-like personal transporter technology? And, turning to another speculation entirely, was she ever really there at all? Adama and Tigh and a few others saw her, but does that mean she was bodily present or was just manipulating their minds as well to generate an illusion, as she's been doing with Baltar?
And, the question I'm sure a lot of BG fans have been asking over the past few days, what was that wince-inducing scene in Adama's quarters all about? There was so much about that interlude that was just plain awful. On the one hand, I couldn't believe that any man could fail to be seduced by a Victoria's Secret model, and yet as Number Six brought her delectable lips to Adama's, the Commander just sat there like a Vulcan would have, unmoving and utterly expressionless. Maybe a huge wet spot was blossoming on his uniform trousers, but the story certainly didn't give the viewers any indication of it.
On the other hand, why was Number Six attempting to raise Adama's "launch tube" to "full alert status"? Did she buy into her own press clippings (like my comments above) that no human male could resist her? Had she been hanging around Baltar so much that she came to believe that all men were as flesh-addicted as he is? Or is nymphomania an override written into her programming?
I just didn't see the point. Even if Adama had responded to her, her unsubtle bimbo behavior would still have aroused his suspicions. And now that they suspect that she is a Cylon, she can't exactly waltz back onto the Galactica again with the same impunity.
Unless she's an angel. Or telepathic. Or "god" herself. <sigh>
Another roaring implausibility, at least to me, is the utter credulousness of Adama and President Roslin vis-a-vie Baltar over the previous three and a half weeks, the unquestioning, almost blind trust they've invested in him despite the man being in a state of perpetual guilt telegraphy. How would you not look askance at somebody who was always that nervous and mercurial, and who kept talking to invisible companions? Obviously something is making him frantically skittish. Maybe you wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he played a role in the Cylon holocaust, but wouldn't you at least think that he was a couple of Vipers short of a full squadron? Would responsible, canny leaders entrust someone like that with a top security clearance, even if he does possess skills and knowledge and expertise that are desperately needed and available in no other surviving human? And if so, wouldn't you still keep an eye on him, or maybe even "prevail upon him" to visit the ship's shrink?
Don’t agree with that? Take another look at the bathroom scene. Between Baltar’s frenzied attempt to lobby Lieutenant Gaeta and his forcing his way into “Shelly’s” commode stall and shouting “NO MORE MR. NICE GAIUS!” at her, you just knew that somebody would be coming for him – either security or the men in the white coats and butterfly nets.
The bridge scene where "Shelly Godfrey" makes her debut was that dynamic in reverse - Baltar talking to her as though she weren't there when the others can see her as well. Wouldn't somebody take note of the familiarity with which he addressed her, as though they already knew each other "intimately"? Plant a seed of suspicion, especially after she pulled her vanishing act, despite her treason case against Baltar collapsing right on schedule? And doesn't President Roslin in particular welcome him back into her good graces with just a little too much alacrity?
And finally, isn't that the most modestly "Miss Godfrey" has been dressed in the entire series thus far, by a factor of a whole frakking lot?
What does it any of it matter? The answer is, not much. Just a fairly large-sized cheat. Unless, that is, you marveled at how Gaius could bound up the stairs while tearing off his pants at the same time without ending up in a crumpled heap back at the bottom.
A few other brief snippets:
-Starbuck got goaded out of bed by Colonel Tigh (the opposite, of course, of Baltar's efforts) and down to the hanger deck to assist Chief Tyrol (who's got to be developing carpal tunnel syndrome in his right forearm already) in figuring out how their captured Cylon raider works, since she's the only one who can get it to do anything. Unfortunately she's utterly incapable of explaining it to the Chief, which isn't a knock since how do you catalog the avionics of goo-enslimed entrails?
-Boomer put on a really creepy display with the Cylon raider, patting and caressing it like it was a sheep waiting at the back entrance of a fraternity party and appearing to possess a far greater understanding of what the contraption is (as opposed to how it works). It resembled almost a trance, like the one into which she lapsed at the end of "Water." Sure seemed to freak out her ex-boyfriend, who was so unnerved that when she snapped out of her brief "detour" and asked him why he was looking at her funny, he was definitely channeling Sergeant Schultz.
-President Roslin collapses after ODing on pain medication. That oughta be a fun issue for Tom Zarek to bring up in the approaching presidential campaign.
-Apollo is AWOL again (not that I'm complaining….).
-Meanwhile, back on "Cylon-occupied Caprica," the other Boomer collaborates with her Cylon colleagues (Number Six clone and Doral clone) on whether Helo will abandon her after her disappearance from their restaurant fallout shelter or go looking for her to play the "knight in shining armor" role. No gold stars for guessing the latter. It was mildly diverting to see the other two beat the living crap out of Boomer, so as to create a convincing plight when Helo found her. But I was gagging at how the other two Cylons were on two occasions standing in plain sight of Helo and he never once noticed them.
Okay, that was last week, but I figured I could catch up that storyline in this review. Just as I also (finally) figured out that the Cylons are using Helo as a one-man psychological experiment. The sight of the three of them standing high above on a rooftop, looking down on their test subject, very much resembling a rat in a maze, was quite symbolic.
Nothing nearly so substantive this week, I'm afraid. After evading a Cylon patrol, Helo professes his crush to Boomer, and she smashes her mouth against his, and they rip each other's clothes off as if being attacked by the fashion police, and she rides him like Ron Turcotte at the Belmont Stakes, and her spine glows a tell-tale orgasmic red while Tahmoh Penikett gets an eyeful (not as much as James Callis got in the pilot, but hey, would you complain?). Not bad from Helo's perspective, given how his immediate future looked a few weeks back. Just wait until he discovers what's really going on.
On second thought, maybe it will all turn out to have been a bad dream.
After all, it was for Gaius.
Next: a Cylon agent is captured, and Starbuck gets to be the "bad cop."

Oh, you want specifics? Before too much longer, this pic will be the specific.
According to Israel's Counter-Terrorism Bureau, here is the updated list (via Newsmax Insider):
Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Burkina-Faso, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Pakistan, Togo, Algeria, Djibouti, Tunisia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Morocco, Oman, Kenya, Nigeria, Thailand, the Philippines, Russia, India, Senegal, and Nigeria.
Next candidates for the list: Belgium, Canada, Australia, France, and Denmark.
That is, for globe-trotting Israelis who don't enjoy death-defying hobbies like....breathing.
It reminds me of the Chitauri leader's warning to Loki....
"There is no realm....no barren moon....no crevasse where we can't find you. You think you know pain? You will come to long for something as sweet as pain."
Funny, I didn't know Iranians had extra thumbs.
Exit question: How long until Barack Obama "unilaterally" adds the U.S. to the Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau's list?

That is, for globe-trotting Israelis who don't enjoy death-defying hobbies like....breathing.
It reminds me of the Chitauri leader's warning to Loki....
"There is no realm....no barren moon....no crevasse where we can't find you. You think you know pain? You will come to long for something as sweet as pain."
Funny, I didn't know Iranians had extra thumbs.
Exit question: How long until Barack Obama "unilaterally" adds the U.S. to the Israeli Counter-Terrorism Bureau's list?

Why Elizabeth Warren Will Be The 2016 Democrat Nominee
by JASmius
She's a leftwingnut, the Donk base loves her, and she gives them all the bloody, raw "blue" meat they insatiably crave.
And, yes, she has a vagina, I'm guessing:
In other words, Senate Democrats.
Interesting, no? Mrs. Clinton would have preemptively worked out a secret quid pro quo where Citigroup, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America each chipped in fifteen MILLION bucks in protection money. And in the event that the banks were backing out on her, she'd probably be panicking herself into (another) stroke, as screwing them over wouldn't be on the agenda until after she was safely elected.
But guile about her core ideological motivations just isn't in Fauxcahontas's nature.
And she'll get it to, even though she's taken quite a haul from "The Street" herself. But she's a Marxist-Leninist and Democrat and female and "original American," so she gets a tribal special dispensation and get-out-of-the-jail-teepee-free card. The Nutroots could care less what she does, as long as she's blasting and destroying their shared enemies, and her name isn't Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Eleven years ago Donks eschewed their hero, Howard Dean, and held their collectiv(ist) noses and went with the "electable" John Kerry. They will never make that mistake again even if the Massachusetts senior senator has about as much chance in the 2016 general as a 49er beanie in Pike Place Market. Another demonstration of Warren's fundraising prowess will give Her Nib fresh heartburn, but it will also be another signal to the Dem rank & file that they really aren't resigned to somebody they loathe and know will lose, but can opt for the (slightly) younger, "uncompromised" version that they love and can delude themselves into obstinate insistence that she can win.
The thirty grand is just the down-payment on the avalanche to come.

And, yes, she has a vagina, I'm guessing:
Just hours after Reuters reported that Citigroup and other banks are debating whether to halt some of their own donations, Senator Elizabeth Warren is calling on her followers to make up the difference.
Citing "concerns that Senate Democrats could give Warren and lawmakers who share her views....
In other words, Senate Democrats.
....more power," Citigroup has already decided for now to withhold donations to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, sources inside the bank told Reuters. The maximum that bank could donate under campaign finance rules is $15,000 per year....
In December, Warren gave a long speech criticizing the close ties between Citigroup and Congress. "There's a lot of talk coming from Citigroup about how the Dodd-Frank Act isn't perfect," Warren said. "So let me say this to anyone who is listening at Citi: I agree with you. Dodd-Frank isn’t perfect. It should have broken you into pieces."
The move is more symbolic than financial, and has already spurred a counteroffensive from Warren. In a fundraising request (titled "Wall Street isn't happy with us,") Warren accused the banks of wanting Washington to puts its needs before Americans and "get a little public fanny-kissing for their money too." The pitch argues that 2016 Democratic Senate candidates could lose $30,000 each, and asks for for help raising matching funds. [emphasis added]

Constitution Corner: A More Perfect Union
By Douglas V. Gibbs
In the Preamble of the United States Constitution “in Order to form a more perfect Union” is listed first among the reasons for the writing of the document. The federal government was created during the Philadelphia Convention in 1787 primarily for the purpose of protecting, preserving, and promoting the union of States. A union already existed under the Articles of Confederation (the constitution before the Constitution), but the “Articles” were too weak to properly maintain the union. The framers realized the necessity of forming a more perfect union through a new central government with more authorities, while restraining that new government by limiting its power and scope by only giving it express powers enumerated in a written constitution that are specifically designed to only directly affect the union. Examples include: the federal government is granted the authority to maintain an army and navy in order to protect the union from invasion, collect taxes to pay for that military, regulate commerce to ensure commerce flows regularly, establish a uniform rule of naturalization to ensure the union grows through regulated immigration, and establish post offices for the purpose of keeping the union in communication. However, the Constitution leaves local issues in the hands of local government, closer to “We the People”, and managed in a manner consistent with local customs and local needs.

Email of the Week: 3 Short Sentences
Posted by Douglas V. Gibbs
3 short sentences
When you vote for an incumbent you are perpetuating our government as it is now. Nothing will change.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1.) We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering.
2.) Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money.
How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.
Think about it..... Last but not least:
3.) Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping payments to illegal aliens such as monthly payments for each child, money for housing, food stamps, free education including college and also the right to vote?
Am I the only one missing something?
3 short sentences
When you vote for an incumbent you are perpetuating our government as it is now. Nothing will change.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1.) We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering.
2.) Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money.

Hillary 'Wiped Clean' Email Server, Gowdy Furious
by JASmius
Is this a thing? Somehow I don't think it is:
See what I mean? Ask yourself this question: Are either of the above the slightest bit surprising? And are not both precisely what we would have expected Mrs. Clinton to do? Indeed, are both not what any of us would have done in her position? Do the Clintons not ALWAYS have a ton to hide?
If your answers to the above questions are not "no, yes, yes, aaaaaaand yes" then you're suffering from Clinton rust, and if there's enough Clinton rust out there, she might actually have a chance next year after all.
Remember him?
Translation: Hillary wiping her server is not a thing, and you're not getting anything more than what we've given you. And if you're not down with that, we've got just two words for ya....
Seriously, could anybody have possibly forgotten Clinton SOP?
Now this, I think, is a thing. Or, as Ace deftly entitles it, "Her majesty's secret service":
This is more surreal than finding a Bible in Miley Cyrus's bong bag. Hillary Clinton had a shadow intelligence agency within the Obama Regime? Because....why? The CIA wasn't good enough? Or maybe it was too good and she didn't trust Langley for precisely that reason? Or did she want intel she could legitimately trust and figured that anything connected with Obama would be fatally tainted? Or is she just such a megalomanical control freak that she has to run everything herself, in the same way that she kept all her Foggy Bottom emails on her own server, and couldn't abide accountability and transparency getting in the way of what she wanted to do? Whatever that was, since her server has been wiped cleaner than a baby's bunghole. And since she believes herself entitled to do anything she wants, whatever the Constitution and the law dictate, there you go.
It's probably true that CIA (Clinton Intelligence Agency) got its funding from La Clinton Nostra, but it wouldn't surprise me all that much if it was illegally siphoned from the State Commissariat budget. Perhaps some of both. Which makes it so gosh darn interesting that Mrs. Clinton wiped her server, but only after she first noticed the congressional posse on her tail around last Halloween. Which suggests that she's getting slow in her old age, as twenty years ago that server would have been molten slag the day she left Foggy Bottom.
Exit question: Isn't it telling that I only mentioned the chairman of the congressional committee "investigating" Mrs. Clinton once (in the title - thrice if you count blockquotes)? How sad is it that Trey Gowdy has about as much relevance to any of this as Viscera doing a SlimFast commercial....
....and he's about the only one not to realize it?
Is this a thing? Somehow I don't think it is:
Hillary Clinton wiped her email server "clean," permanently deleting all emails from it, the chairman of a House committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, said Friday.
Representative Trey Gowdy, South Carolina-4 Republican, said the former secretary of state has failed to produce a single new document in recent weeks and has refused to relinquish her server to a third party for an independent review, as Gowdy has requested.
Clinton's attorney, David Kendall....
Remember him?
....said Gowdy was looking in the wrong place. Instead of asking Clinton for the emails, Gowdy should look to the State Department, which is "uniquely positioned to make available any documents responsive to your requests," Kendall said.
In a six-page letter released late Friday, Kendall said Clinton had turned over to the State Department all work-related emails sent or received during her tenure as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
Starting weeks before Islamic militants attacked the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, longtime Clinton family confidante Sidney Blumenthal supplied intelligence to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gathered by a secret network that included a former CIA clandestine service officer, according to hacked emails from Blumenthal’s account.
The emails, which were posted on the internet in 2013, also show that Blumenthal and another close Clinton associate discussed contracting with a retired Army special operations commander to put operatives on the ground near the Libya-Tunisia border while Libya's civil war raged in 2011.
Blumenthal's emails to Clinton, which were directed to her private email account, include at least a dozen detailed reports on events on the deteriorating political and security climate in Libya as well as events in other nations....
It’s unclear who tasked Blumenthal, known for his fierce loyalty to the Clintons, with preparing detailed intelligence briefs. It's also not known who was paying him, or where the operation got its money. The memos were marked "confidential" and relied in many cases on "sensitive”"sources in the Libyan opposition and Western intelligence and security services. Other reports focused on Egypt, Germany, and Turkey.
Indeed, though they were sent under Blumenthal's name, the reports appear to have been gathered and prepared by Tyler Drumheller, a former chief of the CIA's clandestine service in Europe who left the agency in 2005. Since then, he has established a consulting firm called Tyler Drumheller, LLC. He has also been affiliated with a firm called DMC Worldwide, which he co-founded with Washington, D.C., attorney Danny Murray and former general counsel to the U.S. Capitol Police John Caulfield. DMC Worldwide’s now-defunct website describes it at as offering "innovative security and intelligence solutions to global risks in a changing world." [emphases added]

Chain Reaction
by JASmius
I'm scared. Seriously. Barack Obama's mad quest for a total sellout to Iran on its nukes is becoming the foreign policy equivalent of a runaway warp core breach. It's like....well, the movie 12 Monkeys anyway, where you know that an apocalyptic disaster is coming, but not how it's going to happen, and you try to stop it, but you fail and are forced to watch it happen anyway. And then you die. Which is a bummer when you're in a seat in the cineplex, or sitting in front of your computer playing Call of Duty, but terrifying when you realize that this isn't a movie, but real life.
This isn't a movie. It's real life. Which is why I can't keep a dry pair of knickers.
Look at the following three headlines, all from this afternoon.
1) Obama Now Turning on P5+1 Allies on Iran, Bullying Them Into Supporting a Bad Deal
Anything about which the Obama White House attempts to "quell fears" means it's gotten out that that something is precisely what they're trying to accomplish.
Barack Obama is out-Frenching the French communists.
The whole world is fully realizing what a monster Barack Obama really is, that he is bent on getting every country in the Middle East annihilated EXCEPT Iran and the Islamic State. Which has the whimsically pyrrhic solace of ironically fulfilling a 2008 Obama campaign promise: He has, indeed, unified the world regarding America - against us, whether out of betrayal or pre-existing enmity, but why quibble over minor details?
It also has the emerging common thread of every Obama policy, whether foreign or domestic: Either he's never relinquishing power, or if he does, his policies and their consequences will be so long-lastingly damaging as to be functionally permanent and irreversible.
But Barack Obama doesn't care. He wants that piece of paper, and he wants Iran to have nukes because Israel has nukes and it's not fair for the mullahs not to have them as well. He's the master of all reality, and facts have to conform to his Narrative, and his Narrative is that Iran is our "partner in peace" and Israel is the source of all conflict in the Middle East and if we just give Iran everything it wants all the region's problems will be solved. You disagree with his Narrative, you're a "threat to peace" that must be discredited, smeared, and destroyed. Even if you're a French communist.
2) British Foreign Secretary: We'll Have a "Narrative" Coming Out of the Talks; Nothing Will Be Written Down, But That Doesn't Matter
First it was a treaty. Then it wasn't a treaty but just an "agreement" because Barack Obama doesn't want the Senate getting in the way of his getting his piece of paper. Then he orders Congress to stay out of it entirely, including any renewed economic sanctions or oversight. Forty seven Republican senators send a letter explaining to the mullahs only that any "agreement" that isn't submitted to the Senate for its review will not be legally binding, and the White House and its congressional drones rabidly condemn them as "traitors" not for undermining their country but for opposing Obama. And now the agreement is going to be oral, not written. You know, like the aborigines in Australia and the south Pacific before they discovered literacy.
It was only eight days ago that my co-blogger described the Obama Regime's anti-transparency as "record-breaking". He had no idea. This is orders of magnitude beyond "record-breaking". We don't have words to describe this level of opacity. No, I take that back - astronomers do: They call it "dark matter". Something that cannot be seen or detected, either directly or indirectly. It's like it doesn't exist but they insist it has to because otherwise their entire cosmology falls apart like a Sheldon Cooper rap song. Or like the Obama-Iran nuclear agreement that is so horrible it must not even be spoken aloud.
In fact, that is the next level of opacity: The agreement will only be known to Ali Khamenei and Barack Obama, and then only in the deepest recesses of a Vulcan mind meld, Because only "gods" can know the glorious Armageddon that will be unleashed as a result of this "deal".
3) U.S. Allies in Gulf Won't Tell Obama Anything Because They Believe That Obama Is Leaking Secret Information to Iran to Kiss Up To Them
Barack Obama came to power wanting to "reduce America to the level of the rest of the world". He believed that all the problems in the world were America's fault, the result of America being too strong, too prosperous, too "arrogant," and too "engaged" in the world. He believed that the way to solve all the world's problems was to take America out of the world, to eliminate its power - economic, military, cultural - to destroy its influence. To make the United States irrelevant.
Mission accomplished.
Now it's every country for itself, meaning burgeoning, spreading, spiraling chaos across the entire globe, like Serbia 1914 or Poland 1939 or Pearl Harbor 1941 multiplied geometrically to where we have no idea where or exactly when the fatal spark that ignites a nuclear war will begin but the likelihood of that spark being struck approaches statistical certainty.
And there is nothing that the United States can do to stop any of it, because our enemies still hate us (and now consider our destruction a very attainable objective) and none of our former allies trust us; and Barack Obama will never change course (because this is the endgame he intended) and any GOP successor (if there ever is one) like Scott Walker will be powerless because of how long it takes to rebuild international relationships and alliances and regain international credibility and respect (with our friends) and fear (from our enemies) - and because the conflagration may burn the world before an Obama successor can be determined.
I'm reminded of what President Nixon once said: "No president can destroy the country in just four years". He never said what a president could do along those lines in eight years - probably because he assumed that the American people would be wise enough never to re-elect such a monster.
Looks like Tricky Dick was wrong.
Scared yet? I hope not, because I need to borrow some dry knickers.

1) Obama Now Turning on P5+1 Allies on Iran, Bullying Them Into Supporting a Bad Deal
Efforts by the Obama administration to stem criticism of its diplomacy with Iran have included threats to nations involved in the talks, including U.S. allies, according to Western sources familiar with White House efforts to quell fears it will permit Iran to retain aspects of its nuclear weapons program.
Anything about which the Obama White House attempts to "quell fears" means it's gotten out that that something is precisely what they're trying to accomplish.
A series of conversations between top American and French officials, including between President Obama and French President Francois Hollande, have seen Americans engage in behavior described as bullying by sources who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.
The disagreement over France’s cautious position in regard to Iran threatens to erode U.S. relations with Paris, sources said.
Barack Obama is out-Frenching the French communists.
Tension between Washington and Paris comes amid frustration by other U.S. allies, such as Saudi Arabia and Israel. The White House responded to this criticism by engaging in public campaigns analysts worry will endanger American interests....
One source in Europe close to the ongoing diplomacy said the United States has begun to adopt a "harsh" stance toward its allies in Paris.
"There have been very harsh expressions of displeasure by the Americans toward French officials for raising substantive concerns about key elements of what the White House and State Department negotiators are willing to concede to Iran," said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "That is because the clarifications expose just how weak the Americans' deal is shaping up to be."
But Barack Obama doesn't care. He wants that piece of paper, and he wants Iran to have nukes because Israel has nukes and it's not fair for the mullahs not to have them as well. 2) British Foreign Secretary: We'll Have a "Narrative" Coming Out of the Talks; Nothing Will Be Written Down, But That Doesn't Matter
No specifics, nothing written, perhaps not even anything that Iran and the international negotiating partners say as one - that's the most to expect out of the nuclear talks now running up against the deadline in Switzerland, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said Friday.
But even concluding this round of talks with that level of ambiguity, Hammond said, would count as a significant success. And he thinks they'll get it....
"We envisage being able to deliver a narrative. Whether that is written down or not, I don’t think is the crucial issue,”This will be a political statement, or perhaps political statements from the [negotiating partners] and Iran which create enough momentum to make it clear that we've now got this boulder over the hill and we are into the detailed work to produce an agreement." [emphasis added]
First it was a treaty. Then it wasn't a treaty but just an "agreement" because Barack Obama doesn't want the Senate getting in the way of his getting his piece of paper.
