Lisa Wiehl on O'Reilly says founding fathers expected co-equal branches
In a discussion over Newt's comments about Congress setting the judges straight, even sending the federal marshall to detain judges acting in bad behavior, Lisa Wiehl on O'Reilly last night said that the Congress could not do that. She claimed it interfered with the concept of separation of powers, and that the founding fathers expected the three branches to be co-equal branches - disagreeing with Gingrich's notion that the judicial branch was supposed to be the weakest of the three branches.
She's a lawyer, of course she thinks that. The thing is, Wiehl is dead wrong.
If you consult Madison's notes on the debates of the Constitutional Convention you learn that the Founding Fathers actually considered not even creating a judicial branch. GOP Dog Fight: Imperfection beats Destruction

All of the Republican Candidates are flawed. That is a fact. Such is the reality of life. Has there ever been a perfect politician?
George Washington had no political experience, Grover Cleveland had a child out of wedlock, Lincoln was raised in poverty, Reagan had once been a democrat, Jefferson was quicker to the military trigger than most, Harding had his fingerprints all over big oil, Madison was thought to be too weak to be president, John Adams was considered unelectible, and Andrew Jackson was thought to have policies that were too radical.
Sound anything like the group right now?
Fine, Newt Gingrich has a lot of personal baggage. The sensationalism by the media regarding his baggage, of course, has been taken way out of context. For example, the accusation that he served his wife with divorce papers while she was dying of cancer in the hospital is completely full of crap. First of all, she was in the hospital for a benign tumor. Second, she served him with divorce papers, and she did so months before the hospital stay. Newt is obviously no saint, but is that reason enough not to trust him as President?
Newt also made a lot of money running a consulting firm post-political life. That shows he's a successful man. So why is that an argument against him?
President Obama is a liberal ideologue that has brought this nation to the precipice of destruction. He told us in 2008 that he wanted to transform America into something else. He wants to lead us down the same path that is destroying Europe. Liberalism, socialism, or whatever you want to call it, leads to financial disaster every time it is tried. He is trying to turn us into the failure that is Europe, while appeasing the enemies of this nation on the National Security front. Obama has no plans on trying to do anything to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions. We need a president willing to tackle these issues, but instead we are too busy complaining about their personal life matters. I get it, their character is being judged, but it's not like Newt Gingrich spent twenty years in a church led by a pastor that hates America and says so in his sermons, and it is not like Newt hung out with a known terrorist like Obama did with Bill Ayers.
Sure, none of these candidates are perfect, but any of them beats the snot out of Obama, and would be much less dangerous than the liberal ideologue that is in the White House right now.

Biden: Taliban Not The Enemy

It is no surprise when Vice President Joe Biden shoves his foot into his mouth. The man is a gaffe machine. . . either that, or he spews what he really believes out loud too much.
During Obama's Presidential Campaign in 2008 we had it hammered into us that Iraq was the bad war, and Afghanistan was the good war. In Afghanistan our troops have been attacked repeatedly by both al-Qaeda and the Taliban. But now, Biden, in an interview with Newsweek, said of the Taliban: "Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. That’s critical. There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests. If, in fact, the Taliban is able to collapse the existing government, which is cooperating with us in keeping the bad guys from being able to do damage to us, then that becomes a problem for us."
After the you-know-what hit the fan, the White House back-pedaled, and Obama's press secretary Jay Carney complained that Vice President Biden’s statement was “taken out of context.”
Then, Carney essentially echoed Biden's madness, saying that the Taliban is not America’s enemy.
How quickly they forget the facts of history.
Have we not been in Afghanistan to not only destroy al-Qaeda, but to also eradicate the Taliban regime which gave al-Qaeda a safe haven in Afghanistan? al-Qaeda operated from Afghanistan with impunity because the Taliban let them. Osama bin Laden formed an alliance with the Taliban, his forces trained with Taliban forces, and his relationship with the Taliban leader Mullah Omar was pretty close from what we understand.
The Taliban refused to cooperate when we asked them to extradite terrorists involved with attacks against America. Osama bin Laden praised the Taliban as the “only Islamic government” in existence and praised the Taliban’s leader.
We have not only been at war with the Taliban, but they are clearly a part of the Islamic mess that constitutes our "enemy."

Payroll Tax Debate: GOP says 2 months is not enough, House Rejects Senate Bill

The Republicans rejected the Senate's deal extending the payroll tax break arguing that only two months continues the uncertainty, and does nothing for the economy. The short extension by Democrats is by design, to enable it to come up again in the heat of the campaign season so that Obama can use it for political purposes. In the bill is also an extension for unemployment. The GOP indicates that they will only pass this bill if it extends the payroll tax break for a year. The Democrats, however, have skipped out of town, refusing to return to work with the Republicans.

Obama Reducing Number of National Guard Troops at Mexican Border by 75%
Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution tasks the federal government with the duty to protect each of the States from invasion. To accomplish this the border must be secured.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 15 states that the Congress shall have the power to provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections, and repel Invasions - Meaning that if it is necessary to protect each State from invasion by calling forth the organized militia, a.k.a. National Guard, then the federal government must.
The Obama administration could care less about the rule of law, could care less about the damage done to our system by the influx of illegal aliens, and in fact wants these people crossing the border in the hopes that they will turn into votes for him.
The border is not just being invaded by illegals. One in three illegal aliens crossing the border are of Middle Eastern descent. Furthermore, the war going on between the drug cartels is spilling across the border. Drug cartels and smugglers of illegal aliens own parts of our border, and are projecting their power into the United States.
Barack Obama fears losing the Hispanic vote by daring to act upon his Constitutional duty of securing the border. He cares more about catering to groups, and getting votes, than he does about the safety of American People.

War on Christmas Commences: Texas Nativity Scene vs. Atheists
The presence of the Nativity Scene on that property is not unconstitutional. Amendment I indicates that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Pretty specific, if you ask me. The worry by the founders was that the federal government would do as England did, and establish a state religion. The States, however, were allowed to do so. In fact, most of the States had established religions at the time of the ratification of the Constitution. Eventually, however, freedom of religion also spread to the State level. In the case of this Texas Nativity Scene, its presence is not Congress making any law. If the federal government, however, was to legislate that the Nativity Scene could not be there, they would be in violation of the First Amendment by "prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The Freedom From Religion Foundation is manipulating the law, manipulating the system, and trying to force its beliefs on the country by eliminating its foes any way it can. They are exactly who they accuse Christianity of being. . . a tyranny.

Islamic World Tells Hillary Clinton: Defamation of Islam Must be Prevented– in America
As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton welcomes Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu to Washington this week, it is critical that Americans pay attention to what these two leaders intend to do. From 12 to 14 December 2011, working teams from the Department of State (DoS) and the OIC are going to discuss implementation mechanisms that could impose limits on freedom of speech and expression.
The OIC’s purpose, as stated explicitly in its April 2011 4th Annual Report on Islamophobia, is to criminalize “incitement to hatred and violence on religious grounds.” Incitement is to be defined by applying the “test of consequences” to speech. Under this twisted perversion of falsely “yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded theater,” it doesn’t matter what someone actually says — or even whether it is true or not; if someone else commits violence and says it’s because of something that person said, the speaker will be held criminally liable.

Egyptian Military Storms Protester Camp

As the Muslim Brotherhood's control over Egypt deepens, the tolerance for the protesters has waned. The Egyptian military stormed a protester camp, pulling women by the hair, kicking in the heads of the young people, crushing the protesters with brutal indignation. The people have been demanding that the military leadership step down, but the response now has become a violent crackdown, and death.
Watch the video with the understanding that the actions by the troops is disturbing. They aim for the heads, and in a number of cases leap up to land on the bodies with both feet.
This is Islamism.

North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il is Dead

The mighty has fallen. North Korea's leader, Kim Jon Il, has died at the age of 69. Will his son be a benevolent leader? Or feel he has something to prove as he takes over the dictatorship?
Kim Jong II is nuttier than dad. This young, inexperienced, not-military punk is going to feel he has to show everyone he is up to the job, and may very well create a crisis.
Young and dumb with his finger on a nuclear trigger.
This is not good.
Kim Jong Il's death was reported by North Korean state television. Il came to power when his father died in 1994.
