George H.W. Bush Improving

George HW Bush improving, singing with doctors and nurses, aide says

Former President George H.W. Bush continues to improve and his “exchanges with doctors and nurses now include singing,” a family spokesman said Friday afternoon.

“The president is alert, and as always, in good spirits,” Jim McGrath said.

He added that while the 88-year-old former president still remains in the intensive care unit at Methodist Hospital in Houston, physicians are "cautiously optimistic that the current course of treatment will be effective.”

Bush has been hospitalized since Nov. 23. He was moved into intensive care on Sunday for treatment of a fever following a bronchitis-related cough.

Obama, and the Ten Planks of Communism

In Obama's Marxist Tendencies, and the Response of the Founding Fathers, I used quotes by Obama, Democrats, Karl Marx, and the Founding Fathers to show where Obama stands when compared to the Founding Fathers, and Karl Marx.

Now, I think it is time to see where Obama and the Democrats stand when compared to the Ten Planks of Communism. . .

The 10 PLANKS stated in the Communist Manifesto

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes.
Agenda 21 is being used to take away private property to be used for "conservation" and "sustainable development."  The private property of guns are under fire right now, as the democrats engage in a drive for gun control, after the Newtown School shooting.  This plank is also being used in America through various zoning, school and property taxes. Also the Bureau of Land Management (Zoning laws are the first step to government property ownership)

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
This is being used in America by Obama to "soak the rich," and make sure the wealthy "pay their fair share." The redistribution of wealth is a Marxist concept.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
Obama supports the death tax, and is calling for it to be increased.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
Liberal States like California are considering an Exit Tax.  Any members of the "opposition" to the Obama administration are called "domestic terrorists."  The guns of these Americans are currently in danger of being confiscated.  Many calls for gun control, and the banning of certain firearms, are currently in play. The confiscation of guns, which may be considered the "property of rebels," is a reality in this current political environment.  Also note that the IRS currently can confiscate property without due process.  Obama's administration is calling for the hiring of 16,000 more IRS agents to help enforce Obamacare.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Obama forced the banks to pay a settlement for crimes he claimed they committed. This was done without due process.  Dodd-Frank accomplishes heavy control of the industry by the government by heavily regulating the banking and credit industry.  Also, be aware that the Federal Reserve is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.

6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the State.
A part of this is the unconstitutional Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and unconstitutional Department of Transportation (DOT).  Currently, the Obama Administration is working on a way to regulate, and tax, the Internet.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
The extension of the federal government into factories was seen when Obama's administration took control of General Motors and Chrysler.  Agenda 21, and federal subsidies to industries, also helps accomplish nationalizing industries in America.  Through subsidies, the factories and farms are controlled.  Agencies that enforce the federal government's hold on these industries include:  Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations.  Note that the agencies are all unconstitutional.

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

In a speech in 2009, Barack Obama said: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."  Equal liability of all to labor includes the minimum wage, Social Security, and the Obama's defense of the labor unions.  Agriculture army: Conservation Corps.  Remember, Obama is a community organizer, and a supporter of ACORN, a kind of civilian army that receives federal funding.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.
Once again, Agenda 21 fits the mold.  The family farm has been targeted, and Agenda 21 works to herd the population away from rural areas, and towards the cities.  Obama's failure to support immigration laws reveals he believes America should be without a border, which would abolish the distinction between countries.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.
Liberal support of public schools, and their hatred of private schools, and homeschooling, is no secret.  We are taxed to support 'public' schools, making them "government force-tax-funded schools " that teach the liberal ideology.  The purpose is to train the young to work for the communal debt system, so that all children can be indoctrinated and inculcated with the government propaganda, like "majority rules", and "pay your fair share".  The result of the 2012 Election may be an indicator of the effectiveness of liberal control over the education system.

Michigan Governor Snyder Continues To Go After Unions

Snyder is beginning to rank right up there with Scott Walker as a gutsy conservative governor. . .

Michigan Republican Governor Rick Snyder kicked up a storm by signing legislation this month that turned the former Big Labor stronghold into a right-to-work state. So what does he do as an encore? Sign a new municipal emergency manager bill that undoes the one modest victory that state unions could claim in the November election – repealing the old municipal emergency manager law.

Hobby Lobby: No Morning-After Pill

ATTY: HOBBY LOBBY WON'T OFFER MORNING-AFTER PILL

An attorney for Hobby Lobby Stores said Thursday that the arts and crafts chain plans to defy a federal mandate requiring it to offer employees health coverage that includes access to the morning-after pill, despite risking potential fines of up to $1.3 million per day.

Hobby Lobby and religious book-seller Mardel Inc., which are owned by the same conservative Christian family, are suing to block part of the federal health care law that requires employee health-care plans to provide insurance coverage for the morning-after pill and similar emergency contraception pills.

The companies claim the mandate violates the religious beliefs of their owners. They say the morning-after pill is tantamount to abortion because it can prevent a fertilized egg from becoming implanted in a woman's womb.

On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor denied the companies' request for an injunction.

-----

I have two comments. First, the federal government has no constitutional authority to demand a private business offer the morning-after pill, or anything else, for that matter.

Second, according to the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law. . . prohibiting the free exercise [of religion]."  This is a direct attack on religious freedoms in this country.

Democrat Party's Marxist Gun Grab

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The rhetoric is in full swing.  The Democrats usually shy away from calling for gun control, and even banning guns, because the issue has been a loser for the liberals for as long as they can remember.  They needed a good crisis.  After Columbine, nobody was listening to the liberal left's calls for gun control.  The liberal left democrats tried to call for gun control after the Gabby Giffords shooting, but nobody bit.  Aurora Batman shooting?  Nothing.  They tried to create a crisis with the Fast and Furious gunwalker operation, but got caught in the act.  Finally, the Newtown school shooting gave them the horrendous shooting they had been waiting for, and the Democrats are not the kind to let a good crisis go to waste.

The crisis not only gives the liberal democrats the opportunity to push for gun control, but to also sling more propaganda against their opposition.

Documentary-maker and liberal activist Michael Moore said the reason for mass shootings in the United States is largely due to fear and racism, and on Christmas Eve he pleaded, “calm down, white people, and put away your guns.”

Who's the racists?  After all, the Democrats have not a single black Senator in the U.S. Senate, the Republicans have more minority State Governors than the Democrats have, the liberal left pays minorities in entitlements to keep them poor, and when a black dares to be a conservative, he is called names - like "Uncle Tom," and "Traitor."  Just ask Allen West, for example.

Fox Sports writer Jason Whitlock, the writer Bob Costas credited for his revelation that America’s “gun culture” was responsible for Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher’s murder-suicide, likened the National Rifle Association to the Ku Klux Klan.

Again, racism on the mind of the liberals.  If everything is about race to these people, doesn't that make "them" the racists?

Liberal Left anti-gun advocates have been calling for NRA president David Keene, and all other members of the NRA, to be shot. To be clear, these people are calling for violence to solve what they think is the cause of many acts of violence — guns.

CNN's Soledad O'Brien said, "I think this conversation at some point has to go to what is the normal amount of guns that people can own and how they’re registered and tracked.”

Isn't that calling for the government to begin seizing private property, and tracking people's use of their private property?  Isn't that a Marxist idea?

An NBC News investigative segment “Rossen Reports” began with a story on private gun sales that was purposefully inflammatory, and in several instances, it simply made things up.  First, stating that a rifle had been altered to fire AK-47 rounds, and second they lied about hollow point bullets - all to try to get the public up in arms over legal firearms and legal ammunition. ". . . the report lied about what the weapon was, and then dishonestly portrayed it as being modified into something supposedly designed for explicitly criminal behavior. This level of purposeful deception by a journalist is on par with fabricating quotes or plagiarism. It is an offense that should lead to a suspension or termination."

David Gregory mocked the NRA's Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced new anti-gun legislation.

NBC is happily reporting that "some parents are imposing a different kind of gun control in their own homes: They are taking away their children’s toy guns."

To keep and bear arms is a natural right, a right pointed out by the Second Amendment, and a right that "shall not be infringed" by the federal government according to the Constitution.

Of course there is the old cliche, "guns don't kill people, people kill people."  We also know that all of the laws in the world will not stop the violent-minded from getting their hands on firearms.  Gun Control legislation simply takes firearms away from law-abiding citizens.

The very idea that the liberal left is calling for gun control, and ultimately the banning of firearms, is more than just appalling.  Looking at history, it is downright tyrannical.

One of the planks of communism is the abolition of private property.

Tyranny loves gun control.  An unarmed populace is easier to control, and murder.

The Turkish Ottoman Empire established gun control in 1911. It then proceeded to exterminate 1 and a half million Armenians from 1914 to 1917.

The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929. Subsequently, from 1928 to 1953, 60 million dissidents were imprisoned and then exterminated.

China enacted gun control laws in 1935. After the communist takeover, from 1948 to 1952, 20 million Chinese, unable to defend themselves, were murdered.

Nazi Germany fully established gun control in 1938. That helped the government to round up 13 million defenseless Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, mentally ill and impaired human beings. Many were imprisoned in concentration camps, then destroyed.

Guatemala passed gun control laws in 1964. Then, from 1964 to 1981, 100,000 defenseless Mayan Indians were exterminated.

Uganda established gun control measures in 1970. Predictably, from 1971 to 1979, 300,000 defenseless Christians met a similar fate.

Cambodia established gun control measures in 1956. Subsequently, from 1957 to 1977, 1 million Cambodians met their deaths.

In the United States, Americans have proudly been gun owners.

In World War II, Admiral Yamamoto proclaimed that Japan would never invade the United States, because there would be a "gun behind every blade of grass."

Nationwide in the United States, concealed-carry laws have resulted in a drop in crime rates.

A comprehensive national study in 1996 determined that violent crime fell after states made it legal to carry concealed firearms. The results of the study showed that states, which passed concealed-carry laws, reduced their murder rate by 8.5 percent, rapes by 5 percent, aggravated assaults by 7 percent and robbery by 3 percent. By extrapolation, if the states that do not have concealed-carry laws had adopted such laws in 1992, approximately 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes, 60,000 aggravated assaults and 12,000 robberies would have been avoided yearly.

Gun owners are freedom loving citizens.  Unarmed citizens are victims, and subjects.

General Norman Schwarzkopf, Dead at 78

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf was the coalition forces leader during the Persian Gulf War.  Iraq's dictator Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990, claiming that Kuwait stole Iraqi oil reserves.  Operation Desert Storm was launched in 1991 by President George H.W. Bush in defense of Kuwait, with a coalition of over 30 countries on board.  On Jan. 17, 1991, the five-month buildup called Desert Shield became Operation Desert Storm as allied aircraft attacked Iraqi bases and Baghdad government facilities. The six-week aerial campaign climaxed with a massive ground offensive on Feb. 24-28, routing the Iraqis from Kuwait in 100 hours before U.S. officials called a halt.  The military operation was successful beyond expectations, and Schwarzkopf was a hero.

General Schwarzkopf volunteered for, and served in, Vietnam, entering the war in 1966.  He was highly decorated for his service in that conflict.  His final mission as a military man was in Tampa, Florida, as  commander-in-chief of U.S. Central Command, the headquarters responsible for U.S. military and security concerns in nearly 20 countries.

Though he initially supported the invasion of Iraq in 2003, based on the intelligence regarding Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, he questioned if the war would resolve as quickly as the Bush administration believed.  During the conflict, Schwarzkopf remained out of the spotlight, and remained fairly ambivalent regarding the operation.

A West Point graduate, Schwarzkopf earned his master's degree in engineering at the University of Southern California.  He later taught missile engineering at West Point.

After retiring from the Army in 1992, Schwarzkopf wrote a best-selling autobiography, "It Doesn't Take A Hero." Of his Gulf war role, he said, "I like to say I'm not a hero. I was lucky enough to lead a very successful war."

Yeah, a new republic. . . a new Islamist republic.  The totalitarian, and barbaric, drive for a new caliphate is under way.  From Arabia to Turkey to Egypt to Morocco, the new Ottoman Empire is falling into place.

Report: GOP senators won’t confirm Kerry until Clinton testifies on Benghazi

Republican senators will refuse to confirm Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., as Secretary of State until the nation’s current top diplomat, Hillary Clinton, testifies about her handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack.

“The Senate is expected to take up Kerry’s nomination in early January, but multiple Republican senators have already said they won’t agree to a vote on Kerry’s nomination until Clinton testifies about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi,” The Cable’s Josh Rogin notes.

Clinton backed out of testifying at a congressional hearing last week after fainting and suffering a concussion. She was the first cabinet-level official to acknowledge that terrorists played a role in the assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi.

David Gregory Being Investigated Over High-Capacity Gun Clip

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Remember, liberal left democrats don't think the law applies to them.  Nothing sticks, because the media, the political propaganda, the education system, and the entertainment industry plays the game well.  Bill Clinton can get oral satisfaction in the Oval Office, and lie about it under oath, and come out of it smelling like a rose.  Dan Quail can misspell a word, which was misspelled on the card he was given, and it ruined his political career.  Kennedy killed a woman by drowning her in the Chappaquiddick, and assassinated Robert Bork's character through vicious slander, and walked away from both without even a scratch.  All Sarah Palin had to do was run for office, and the attacks were so horrendous that in most circles, as a result of lies and the politics of personal destruction, her name is mud.

David Gregory of NBC News also seems to think he is immune to the law, or any scrutiny.  He displayed a high-capacity gun clip on Sunday's broadcast of "Meet the Press," even after NBC asked if they could and were denied.

In Washington DC, where the show is filmed, the 30-round gun magazine he held up during the program is banned, whether it is attached to a gun, or not.

Gregory was interviewing the National Rifle Association's Wayne LaPierre.

After asking the Executive Vice President of the NRA if banning high capacity magazines could reduce the carnage in a situation like Newtown, LaPierre responded, "I don't think it's what will work.''

Despite the fact that NBC was informed that possession of a high-capacity magazine was not permissible and their request was denied, David Gregory held the clip up high for all to see - in violation of a liberal left gun control law.

Remember, these people think they are above the law.

Washington's municipal code prohibits possession, sale or transfer of "any large capacity ammunition feeding device, regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm."

The maximum penalty for conviction on such a charge is a $1,000 fine and one year in prison.

And I say throw the sucker in jail.  After all, don't the democrats claim that they believe in equality?  How about equal treatment under the law?  You know, that clause from the 14th Amendment they love to use so much?  Arrest David Gregory, and make him spend a year in jail.

As Obama would say, "It would be the fair thing to do."

Inherent Standards of Constitutional Principles, John Adams

"A constitution founded on these principles introduces knowledge among the people, and inspires them with a conscious dignity becoming freemen; a general emulation takes place, which causes good humor, sociability, good manners, and good morals to be general. That elevation of sentiment inspired by such a government, makes the common people brave and enterprising. That ambition which is inspired by it makes them sober, industrious, and frugal." --John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776

Fiscal Cliff: Democrats and Liberal Press Blame Republicans, Consider Unconstitutional Senate Bill

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The GOP has offered plan after plan, and the White House has rejected all of them.  Obama, and the Senate Democrats, will not accept any economic plan that includes spending cuts, and does not raise taxes for Americans all the way down to those making at least $250,000 per year.  Basically, the democrats are telling the republicans, "Either, you offer a plan that is everything we want, and nothing you want, or we go over the fiscal cliff."  Then, on queue, the liberal media is blaming the republicans, claiming it is the GOP that is blocking a fiscal cliff deal.

President Barack Obama is playing the voters like a fiddle, nailing down the "blame republicans" strategy by claiming to cut short his vacation so that he can try to convince the congressional republicans to stop standing in the way of a resolution in the U.S. Congress - and of course they are saying the GOP is doing it only to protect their rich friends from being taxed.

Essentially, Obama and the democrats are saying, "Soak the rich and let us keep spending a lot of taxpayer money, and be to blame.  Or refuse to soak the rich and refuse to let us keep spending a lot of taxpayer money, which will result in the expiration of the Bush tax rates, then the taxes go up on everyone, the military gets slashed, and you still get blamed. Take a pick, republicans."

By the way, if the GOP thinks there is any way out of getting blamed, remember that the media and the education system are completely ruled by the liberal left, so not only will the voters think it was the GOP's fault, but so will history.

The democrats are indicating they also plan to shift their focus to the Senate for a deal - except all money bills have to originate in the House of Representatives as per Article I, Section 7 of the United States Constitution.  In other words, a fiscal cliff deal originating in the Senate would be unconstitutional.

Not that the democrats give a damn about the Constitution.

The problem is that the spineless republicans have bought into the propaganda being put forth by the liberals that they are damaging the "fragile" economy, and that spending cuts and cutting taxes across the board will be damaging.

Call me crazy, but how about the republicans stand on conservative principles?  Why not stand firm on what you believe?  At least you will go down being true to yourselves, and this nation. . .

History has shown time and time again that heavy spending, massive and numerous government programs, and high taxes destroy nations.  Economies cannot sustain themselves when faced with what the democrats are offering.  In the end, the currency deflates, and the spending becomes unsustainable.

Nations die under liberal policies.

Greece is a grand example.

And death is coming because of lies, and games, because the democrats don't care about any recovery, or economic growth.  They care about their ideology, their power, destroying the Republican Party, and going down in history as the ones that finally made America a socialist nation.

The lives they are destroying, the futures they are discarding, and the nation they are dooming means nothing to them.

Reality Reveals Importance of the Right To Bear Arms

CA Homeowner Shoots and Kills Armed Home Invader, Wounds 2 Others as Children Have Sleepover

A homeowner in Sacramento is being treated for non life threatening wounds after successfully fighting off 3 armed home invaders who tried to attack his home last night.

The homeowner grabbed a weapon after 3 armed men tried to break into the home, and opened fire.

The homeowner was shot by one of the suspects, but he managed to shoot all 3 suspects. One of the shot suspects died at the scene and the other 2 are being detained by police as they try to figure out exactly what happened.

Residents say there were children in the home at the time of the attempted home invasion. There may have been a children’s slumber party going on at the time of the attack.

Editor’s note: We are thankful that the homeowner was fast acting and armed or we could be talking about a mass murder of children at a slumber party today.

Piers Morgan, and the Call for His Deportation

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Piers Morgan is an idiot. He is a hard left liberal who would love to see America become more like the socialist nations of Europe.  He believes in gun control, as well, and voicing his opinion on that topic in a country where the right to keep and bear arms is considered to be sacred was not a good idea.  However, in a nation like ours where we have free speech, and the freedom of the press, he is entitled to this opinion.

Yes, Piers Morgan is an idiot, but those calling for his deportation are bigger idiots.  Liberty goes both ways.  The freedom to keep and bear arms must run hand in hand with the freedom to complain about those firearms.

With Freedom comes Responsibility.  Let's be responsible, and not call for the deportation of an idiot for speaking his mind.  Speak out against what he said, demonstrate he was an idiot, and don't be afraid to call him an idiot - but at the same time proclaim his right to be an idiot from the rooftops.

Obama's Marxist Tendencies, and the Response of the Founding Fathers

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Rather than write about Barack Obama, his similarities to Karl Marx, the father of Communism, and what the Founding Fathers thought of such thinking, I figured I would just let Barry, Marx, and a number of the founders speak for themselves:

Liberalism is Marxism, therefore, Liberalism is Communism.  Do not be fooled, the Democrat Party is in the process of trying to turn this country into a Soviet-style nation, based on the same concepts that led Russia into the Bolshevik Revolution.

-----

Democracy

Democracy is the road to socialism. - Karl Marx

This Democracy we have is a special thing - Barack Obama

Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy that did not commit suicide. - John Adams

“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”

“A Republic, if you can keep it.” - Benjamin Franklin

-----

Private Property

The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property. - Karl Marx

"I do think at a certain point you've made enough money." -- Barack Obama

"I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manfuacturer’s lobby." -- Barack Obama

He who is permitted by law to have no property of his own, can with difficulty conceive that property is founded in anything but force. -- Thomas Jefferson, January 26, 1788

-----

Redistribution of Wealth

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. -- Karl Marx

“I actually believe in [wealth] redistribution.” -- Barack Obama

“I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.” - Senator Barack Obama

The Utopian schemes of leveling (redistribution of wealth), and a community of goods (socialism), are as visionary and impractical, as those which vest all property in the Crown, are arbitrary, despotic, and in our government unconstitutional. -- Samuel Adams

-----

The backs of the poor

The rich will do anything for the poor but get off their backs. -- Karl Marx

Are we going to do it in a balanced way or are we going to do it on the backs of our seniors or the middle class or the poor? -- Barack Obama

“Daughter! Get you an honest man for a husband, and keep him honest. No matter whether he is rich, provided he be independent. -- John Adams

“We cannot insure success, but we can deserve it.” ― John Adams

-----

National Debt

The only part of the so-called national wealth that actually enters into the collective possessions of modern peoples is their national debt. Hence, as a necessary consequence, the modern doctrine that a nation becomes the richer the more deeply it is in debt. Public credit becomes the credo of capital. And with the rise of national debt-making, want of faith in the national debt takes the place of the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, which may not be forgiven. -- Karl Marx

President Obama’s own 2013 budget shows that as a result federal debt held by the public will double during Obama’s four years as President. That means in just one term President Obama will have increased the national debt as much as all prior Presidents, from George Washington to George Bush, combined. -- Forbes

President Obama said that the U.S. does not have to “worry” about its $16 trillion debt in the “short term.” He also could not “remember” what the nation’s total debt figures were when he entered office.

“I don’t know remember what the number was precisely,” Obama told talk show host David Letterman during an interview.

Letterman asked him if Americans should be “scared” of the trillions of dollars it owes to other countries.

“A lot of it we owe to ourselves. Because if you invest in a treasury bill or something like that then essentially you’re loaning the government money. In fact, the majority of it is held by folks who live here, but we don’t have to worry about it short term,” Obama responded.

“There are two ways to conquer and enslave a country. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.”
― John Adams

-----

Social Justice

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. - Karl Marx

But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. - Barack Obama

“I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
― Thomas Jefferson

-----

Guns

“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let’s not have any native militia or native police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order throughout the occupied Russian territories, and a system of military strong-points must be evolved to cover the entire occupied country.” - Adolf Hitler, dinner talk on April 11, 1942

“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.” - Joseph Stalin

“All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.” - Mao Tze Tung, Nov 6 1938

Obama recently expanded the ATF's ability to seize guns without going through all the hassles of "due process."

“US Senator, If I could have banned them all – ‘Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns’ – I would have!” - Diane Feinstein, Statement on TV program 60 Minutes, Feb 5 1995

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government”
– Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

“To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave them.”
– George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380

A free people ought to be armed. -- George Washington

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States." -- Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787

Obamacare Tax Hikes

By Douglas V. Gibbs

While everyone is distracted by the debates over the fiscal cliff, the real tax hikes are ready to slap all of us.  Tax-free employer health insurance is about to be taxed, as Washington politicians take aim at doing away with "loopholes" in the tax code.  The elimination of tax deductions regarding health insurance may be only the first step towards eliminating the private health care industry.  In 2018, the health care law imposes a tax on high-value health insurance plans.

Even though the Affordable Care Act was passed three years ago, the taxes for funding the health care law is coming into effect in 2013, which includes Medicare spending cuts, and a "Medicare contribution" that funnels funds into the government's general fund.

The biggest new Obamacare tax is a 3.8 percent levy on investment income that applies to individuals making more than $200,000 or married couples above $250,000.  This tax also applies to profits from home sales as well.  This means that some sellers, those with over $250,000 in gains on their home, will be hit with this taxation.

A mass sell-off of investments to avoid the tax is in play, as investors race to sell assets this year before it takes effect.

Higher wage earners will also be hit by an additional Medicare payroll tax of 0.9 percent on wage income above $200,000 for an individual or $250,000 for couples.

Other health care law tax increases taking effect Jan. 1:

— A 2.3 percent sales tax on medical devices used by hospitals and doctors. Industry is trying to delay or repeal the tax, saying it will lead to a loss of jobs. Several economists say manufacturers should be able to pass on most of the cost.

— A limit on the amount employees can contribute to tax-free flexible spending accounts for medical expenses. It's set at $2,500 for 2013, and indexed thereafter for inflation.

National Defense Authorization Act Passes Senate

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Capable of indefinite detention of United States citizens, and called an "abomination" during a furious dissent by Senator Rand Paul, the National Defense Authorization Act passed the U.S. Senate.

President Obama said he would veto the bill because it would prevent him from closing Guantanamo Bay.  It is unclear whether the president will follow through on the threat.

The NDAA has been controversial because of its provision that would allow the military to detain Americans if suspected to support terrorist groups, or to be a terrorist themselves.  The definition of terror in the bill is not specific, giving the government the opportunity to create broad definitions at their discretion.

Rand Paul said of the bill on the Senate floor, "We had protection in this bill. We passed an amendment that specifically said if you were an American citizen or here legally in the country, you would get a trial by jury.  It's been removed because they want the ability to hold American citizens without trial in our country. This is so fundamentally wrong and goes against everything we stand for as a country that it can't go unnoticed."

"When you're accused of a crime in our country you get a trial, you get a trial by a jury of your peers, no matter how heinous your crime is, no matter how awful you are, we give you a trial," he said. "This bill takes away that right and says that if someone thinks you're dangerous, we will hold you without a trial. It's an abomination."

He also pointed out the open-ended nature of the "war on terror." "When will your rights be restored if the battle has no end, and the battlefield is limitless, and the war is endless?" Paul asked.

Senators in support of the bill claimed language in the NDAA preserves Americans' constitutional right to trial by jury. Only when they ally themselves with foreign terrorist powers, they said, do Americans abdicate their rights as citizens.

Virginia GOP Battles to Remove Treasonous Boehner

Local GOP Pushes Powerful Congressman to Oppose 'Treasonous' Boehner

The Republican Party for the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia has formally requested its GOP congressman, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, to oppose the re-election of House Speaker John Boehner, Breitbart News has learned.

On November 10, the local district committee--which officially represents Republicans, including Goodlatte, in his district--unanimously passed a resolution to ask Goodlatte to vote for someone other than Boehner. The party believes Boehner hasn’t used his full power to fight against Obamacare.

Merry CHRISTmas

Christmas, and the Founding Principles of this Nation, is all about Christ

As we approach Christmas 2012, we need to remember the reason for the season.  The reason for the Christmas Season is Jesus Christ. I will not say "Happy Holidays," when the real response should be "Merry Christmas."

The reason for the season is the same as the reason for the liberty we enjoy in this nation.  Tyranny rejects faith, while divine providence was the source of the founding of America.  Our system has stood the test of time because we as a nation have embraced the Christian principles that went into the forging of this country into existence.

There is the secular way:

Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurrences it cannot understand. - Karl Marx

Religion is the opium of the masses. - Karl Marx

And there is the way of faith:

"The Bible is the best of all books, for it is the word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and in the next. Continue therefore to read it and to regulate your life by its precepts." - John Jay, letter to Peter Augustus Jay, 1784

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other - John Adams

Who should we listen to?  The father or communism, or the founders of this nation?
