I am surprised she is not dead. . . not because of her age, and not because of her health, but because the Obama regime pressured her to step down, and she refused to. . . and we know what happens to people who dare to stand against the Obama authoritarian administration.
Consider the death of Andrew Breitbart, or how quickly Hagel was shown the door after he dared to challenge the President's narrative regarding ISIS.
But, so far, she had her heart procedure, and she has been released from the hospital. So far, so good, for Ginsburg. She expects to be back on the bench by Monday, just as she did twice before after battling cancer. . . unless the hard left Obama goons get to her, first. They fear that if they lose the White House in 2016, and she dies during that administration, all of their cheating, lying, and preparing will be set back for a generation.
Ginsburg's response to the pressure was that this Senate, and the GOP controlled one taking over in January, won't confirm a replacement as liberal as her, so she is willing to hold out until the hard left democrats have control of both the Senate, and the White House, again. I just don't think she'll last that long, either because of her age, or the impatience of the progressives that pull the puppet strings. I think they want Hillary Clinton on the bench.
I would not be surprised if a blood clot suddenly went to Ginsburg's brain, and killed her. The source of the blood clot, of course, will never be definitively determined. The liberal left progressive power players have already shown they are good at convincing the uninformed of their sometimes downright ridiculous propaganda.

The gifts? A board game based on the United States Constitution that allows you to learn the Constitution while having fun with the family is for starters. The game? Constitution Quest, designed and manufactured in the United States by a pair of teachers that live in Temecula, California.
Enter "Doug" in the discount code when you order your copy of "Constitution Quest," and you will get 20% off until the end of the year!

Their support of our efforts have been phenomenal, and I couldn't ask for a better supporter, advertiser, and a pair of wonderful friends.
Constitution Quest is my favorite game in my game closet, and is great fun with the family. The fun can be multiplied when you set it all up with teams in a tournament. What a great gift of knowledge through a fun and well thought-out game. Purchasing a Constitution Quest game for your loved ones is a no-brainer when it comes to Christmas.

Now, imagine their faces when they see the Constitution Quest game, and sitting on top of the game are "25 Myths of the United States Constitution," and "The Basic Constitution: An Examination of the Principles and Philosophies of the United States Constitution" by Douglas V. Gibbs.
25 Myths of the United States Constitution addresses the myths we have been taught since birth. According to the United States Constitution, we don't have three co-equal branches of government, all federal laws are not supreme over all State laws, and it is unconstitutional for the federal court system to strike down laws because the judge decided they are unconstitutional.
The Basic Constitution: An Examination of the Principles and Philosophies of the United States Constitution is like a text book. It is 350 pages of knowledge about the Constitution that breaks down the language of the text, and uses the context and culture of the time period it was written to explain what the original intent was. The book includes an index for easy reference use, a resources section for additional reading, and a glossary so that you can easy look up the terms as they were originally intended to be defined as.
Now, those are the best Christmas presents you can give the patriotic conservatives in your life.

Some Final Thoughts About Thanksgiving, 2014
By Douglas V. Gibbs
We are now halfway through President Barack Obama's second term of office. In the latest midterm election, the Republicans grabbed a hold of the House of Representatives with a majority not seen in nearly a century. The Republicans also gained majority control of the Senate, though not a large enough majority to override any of President Obama's vetoes. I am a registered Republican, and most people call me a Conservative, but I have not given an oath to a party or ideology. My oath is to God, and to the United States Constitution.
The long time hallmarks of the Grand Ol' Party has always been self-reliance, personal responsibility, hard work, limited government, a faith in divine Providence, individualism, and a free market. Though there has been some battles within the GOP over these philosophies, for the most part, those principles remain as the meat of the platform of the Republican Party. The Democrat Party, however, has moved so far away from God and country, and more specifically, away from the law of the land, that the party is no longer recognizable as anything other than a party of socialist authoritarianism.
Americans were raised in liberty, and as the pendulum reaches farther left, segments of the public are waking up. People who were complacent have become involved in politics. They realize that our culture is a giving charitable culture, while also a self-reliant culture, but it is not the responsibility of government to take on what we should be doing as individuals. Not only is it outside the constitutional authority of the federal government to meddle in local affairs, and provide gifts of welfare programs from the national treasury, but it is downright dangerous to provide a precedent for future administrations to follow enabling the federal government to act, through the executive branch, without consent of the States or Congress, in a manner that micromanages the personal lives of Americans.
While President Obama tries to enforce immigration policies that are outside the laws on the books, without congressional consent and against the wishes of most of the States, enforce Internet policies that a court of law told the President is outside the federal government's realm of authority without State or congressional consent, and while Obama is writing executive orders to force environmental policies against the people without consent of the States or supporting legislation from the United States Congress, the reality is clear. . . Hope and Change meant that President Obama aims to fundamentally transform this country into something as far away from the principles of the United States Constitution as he can.
Thanksgiving is a special day in which we give thanks for the Blessings our country has received from God, not a time to give thanks to an overpowering central government. Thanksgiving is a time to give our appreciation to the Creator that has been a large part in maintaining the United States as the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave. But our gift from God is at risk, so though we have assembled around our dinner tables to give thanks for the Blessings God has given to our nation, it is high time we also take action to protect that liberty. To fail to do so is to fail to defend what God has given us, and what God has Blessed.

The Real Story of Thanksgiving, as told by Rush Limbaugh
Posted by Douglas V. Gibbs
The REAL STORY OF THANKSGIVING by Rush Limbaugh
"Well, let's allow our real undoctored American history lesson to unfold further. If our schools and the media have twisted the historical record when it comes to Columbus, they have obliterated the contributions of America's earliest permanent settlers, the Pilgrims. Why? Because they were a people inspired by profound religious beliefs to overcome incredible odds. Today, public schools are simply not teaching how important the religious dimension was in shaping our history and our nation's character. Whether teachers are just uncomfortable with this material or whether there's been a concerted effort to cover up the truth, the results are the same. Kids are no longer learning enough to understand and appreciate how and why America was created.
"The story of the Pilgrims begins in the early part of the seventeenth century The Church of England under King James I was persecuting anyone and everyone who did not recognize its absolute civil and spiritual authority. Those who challenged ecclesiastical authority and those who believed strongly in freedom of worship were hunted down, imprisoned, and sometimes executed for their beliefs. A group of separatists first fled to Holland and established a community. After eleven years, about forty of them agreed to make a perilous journey to the New World, where they would certainly face hardships, but could live and worship God according to the dictates of their own consciences. On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail. It carried a total of 102 passengers, including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract, that established just and equal laws for all members of the new community, irrespective of their religious beliefs. Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible.
"The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the Old and New Testaments. They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example. And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture, they never doubted that their experiment would work. But this was no pleasure cruise, friends. The journey to the New World was a long and arduous one. And when the Pilgrims landed in New England in November, they found, according to Bradford's detailed journal, a cold, barren, desolate wilderness. There were no friends to greet them, he wrote. There were no houses to shelter them. There were no inns where they could refresh themselves. And the sacrifice they had made for freedom was just beginning. During the first winter, half the Pilgrims – including Bradford's own wife – died of either starvation, sickness or exposure. When spring finally came, Indians taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish for cod and skin beavers for coats. Life improved for the Pilgrims, but they did not yet prosper!
"This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end. Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives, rather than as a devout expression of gratitude grounded in the tradition of both the Old and New Testaments. Here is the part that has been omitted: The original contract the Pilgrims had entered into with their merchant-sponsors in London called for everything they produced to go into a common store, and each member of the community was entitled to one common share. All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belong to the community as well. Bradford, who had become the new governor of the colony, recognized that this form of collectivism was as costly and destructive to the Pilgrims as that first harsh winter, which had taken so many lives.
"He decided to take bold action. Bradford assigned a plot of land to each family to work and manage, thus turning loose the power of the marketplace. That's right. Long before Karl Marx was even born, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism. And what happened? It didn't work! Surprise, surprise, huh? What Bradford and his community found was that the most creative and industrious people had no incentive to work any harder than anyone else, unless they could utilize the power of personal motivation! But while most of the rest of the world has been experimenting with socialism for well over a hundred years – trying to refine it, perfect it, and re-invent it – the Pilgrims decided early on to scrap it permanently. What Bradford wrote about this social experiment should be in every schoolchild's history lesson if it were, we might prevent much needless suffering in the future."
Now, I'm going to cease and desist at this point because I don't want to get started and have to interrupt myself for a commercial break with the passage from Bradford in his journal about the decision to scrap socialism, this common share business, and he turned everybody loose, and this new social experiment, forerunner to capitalism, is profoundly detailed in his journal.
Here now, in its entirety, the William Bradford journal, what he wrote about the social experiment after abandoning what essentially was socialism shortly after the Pilgrims had arrived in the United States or in the new world:
"'The experience that we had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years...that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing – as if they were wiser than God,' Bradford wrote. 'For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children without any recompense...that was thought injustice.' Do you hear what he was saying, ladies and gentlemen? The Pilgrims found that people could not be expected to do their best work without incentive. So what did Bradford's community try next? They un-harnessed the power of good old free enterprise by invoking the under girding capitalistic principle of private property. Every family was assigned its own plot of land to work and permitted to market its own crops and products.'"
Not just use themselves and not just send to a common store but they could market. They could grow as much, they could sell it for what they could get for it, and the incentive was clear to do as much as possible on both sides. "And what was the result? 'This had very good success,' wrote Bradford, 'for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.' Bradford doesn't sound like much of a Clintonite, does he? Is it possible that supply-side economics could have existed before the 1980s? Yes. Read the story of Joseph and Pharaoh in Genesis 41. Following Joseph's suggestion (Gen 41:34), Pharaoh reduced the tax on Egyptians to 20% during the 'seven years of plenty' and the 'Earth brought forth in heaps.' (Gen. 41:47) In no time, the Pilgrims found they had more food than they could eat themselves. So they set up trading posts and exchanged goods with the Indians. The profits allowed them to pay off their debts to the merchants in London. And the success and prosperity of the Plymouth settlement attracted more Europeans and began what came to be known as the 'Great Puritan Migration.' Now, let me ask you: Have you read this history before? Is this lesson being taught to your children today? If not, why not? Can you think of a more important lesson one could derive from the Pilgrim experience?
"Guess what? There's even more that is being deliberately withheld from our modern textbooks. For example, one of those attracted to the new world by the success of Plymouth was Thomas Hooker. Thomas Hooker established his own community in Connecticut, the first full-fledged constitutional community, perhaps the most free society the world had ever known. Hooker's community was governed by the fundamental orders of Connecticut, which established strict limits on the powers of government. So revolutionary and successful was this idea that Massachusetts was inspired to adopt its body of liberties. The body of liberties included ninety-eight separate protections of individual rights, including no taxation without representation, due process of law, trial by a jury of peers, and prohibitions against cruel and unusual punishment. Now, those no doubt sound familiar to you and they should because these are ideas and concepts that led directly to the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Bill of Rights."
"Nevertheless, the Pilgrims and the Puritans of early New England are often vilified today as witch burners and portrayed as simpletons. But to the contrary, it was their commitment to pluralism and free worship that led to these ideals being incorporated into American history, and our history books purposely conceal the fact that these notions were developed by communities of devout Christians who studied the Bible and found that it prescribes limited representative government and free enterprise as the best political and economic systems. Now, there's only one word for this, folks. It's censorship. There was a time when every schoolchild did learn these basic lessons of the American culture. Now these truths are being and have been systematically expunged from history books in favor of liberal social studies clap trap," and the chapter goes on. "This brings us to our Founding Fathers, the geniuses who crafted the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
"These were men who shook up the entire world by proclaiming the idea that people had certain God-given freedoms and rights and that the government's only reason to exist was to protect those freedoms and rights from both internal and external forces -- and that simple, yet brilliant, insight has been all but lost today in liberalism's relentless march toward bigger, more powerful, more intrusive government," and that's why I wanted to add to the reading today the George Washington First Thanksgiving proclamation in 1789. Thanksgiving was about thanking God for bounty and freedom and opportunity and blessings. Thanksgiving is a time we celebrate the Pilgrims realizing the best way to enjoy prosperity in a new world that was foreign to them. Yes, there was cooperation with the Indians and, yes, the Indians did extend the handshake of freedom when we arrived by teaching the Pilgrims how to farm and so forth, but after that, all the bounty that was created by the first settlers were shared with the Indians.
There was no wiping them out. There was no infiltration. There was no introduction of various diseases and -isms like environmental wackoism or sexism or racism or any of this, as have been attached in recent multicultural curricula to the so-called white Europeans who invaded this pristine land and destroyed the goodness and the oneness that the Indians enjoyed with this land. That's what's being taught today. What is not being taught today is the devotion to God that these people had, but the failure of a socialist compact to adequately provide for the residents of the first colony and how William Bradford himself saw it was failing almost from the outset and devised a new compact which was basically capitalism and unfettered competition, and incentive, and then it was Katie bar the door. All of these things are part of the original Thanksgiving, and even when I go back and remember my days in school, I was not taught this. I was not taught the involvement and the references to God.
I was not taught that the Pilgrims had all this bounty after awhile and shared it with the Indians. It was quite the opposite. The purpose of teaching Thanksgiving when I was a kid was to tell all of us just how wonderful the Indians were and how well they treated us when we arrived because we were basically inept and incompetent. I enjoy passing this story along every Thanksgiving because we've been doing it here since I published and wrote the book, and the book is actually 1993. It came out in November of '93. By the end of the year, it had sold two million copies, and since then, I guess this is our 11th year now of reading the real story of Thanksgiving, and it always reaches new people. Every year we do it, people who have never heard it before are amazed. Now, if I was able to find it and get the true story, it's out there, but it's not in conventional history textbooks that you'll find in many of the public schools.

Thanksgiving 2014: Giving Thanks To God for the Blessing that is America

"Governments, in general, have been the result of force, of fraud, and accident. After a period of six thousand years has elapsed since the creation, the United States exhibit to the world the first instance, as far as we can learn, of a nation, unattacked by external force, unconvulsed by domestic insurrections, assembling voluntarily, deliberating fully, and deciding calmly concerning that system of government under which they would wish that they and their prosperity should live." -- James Wilson, November 26, 1787 in remarks in Pennsylvania ratifying convention.
John Adams once wrote, "The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people."
The Revolution that forged America into existence began long before the first shot was fired on Lexington Green, and continued after the British surrender at Yorktown. The idea of Thanksgiving goes all the way back to the pilgrims, and in reality even further back than that. The Colonists used thanksgiving ceremonies and feasts to thank God for their survival and bounty, while sharing their bounty with their new found friends, the Indians. However, the holiday did not find its first governmental recognition until President George Washington recognized it in 1789 with a proclamation. Thanksgiving wasn't celebrated nationally on the fourth Thursday of every November until President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it to be in his Thanksgiving Address of 1863. Thanksgiving was not even a formal federal holiday until 1941.
In 1787, in an effort to create a more perfect union, the federal government was born through the pages of the U.S. Constitution. It took the sovereign States uniting as one to defeat the great British Empire, so it was reasonable to assume a strong union would be necessary to weather the storms the new nation would encounter in the future. With God's guidance, the Founding Fathers studied history, and labored for four months to give us the greatest document, second only to the Holy Bible, this world has ever seen: The U.S. Constitution.
Understanding that history reveals the danger of too much power in any one group's hands, the Founding Fathers aimed to divide power as much as possible, and rather than make this nation a democracy fully run by the vote of the people, or an oligarchy fully run by the whims of a few powerful men, the Founders chose to make this nation a republic based on law, operating under the rule of law, and that law was not to be the opinions of a bunch of judges, but forged in the text of the U.S. Constitution as the supreme law of the land.
The Framers of the Constitution used history, and the guiding principles of their faith in God, to structure this government. This is one nation under God, with a federal government that has only limited powers granted to it by the States. Those authorities are enumerated in the U.S. Constitution. If the federal government desires a new authority, they may propose an amendment, but such authority is not to be granted unless the States approve the request by ratifying the amendment with a 3/4 approval. The States can propose amendments as well, through convention - a method not used since The Bill of Rights. The federal government, however, as history has proceeded, has seized power without the consent of the people, and is becoming a governmental system the Framers created the Constitution to protect us against.
Storms were on the horizon, and the Founding Fathers knew this. They recognized that there were those out there that desired a more centralized government, those that place as much faith, if not more, in government than they did God. These learned men understood that as a result of human nature, challenges would arise. Knowing these things, they wrote the Constitution with the intention to address each of those issues, and ensure that the great experiment of the United States of America would stand the test of time.
The Constitution, and the principles of America contained within its pages, are not antiquated and old fashioned as some may say. The principles of the United States Constitution are no more out of date than the concepts of liberty and freedom. The philosophies of the Founding Fathers are contained within the pages of the founding documents (Articles of Association, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, and the U.S. Constitution), and if we as a nation were to simply adhere to the wisdom presented to us through those documents, based on the original definitions in line with the context of the times, our nation would continue to prosper. George Washington realized that the U.S. Constitution was not written only for the age of America's founding, but to outlast empires and other foreign governments as a government structured to fit the requirements demanded by human nature. Freedom is the same regardless of the time period, and for the United States to survive the obstacles it had experienced, and for the U.S. Constitution to be such a sound document rooted in the wisdom of the ages, George Washington felt it important to give credit where credit is due, and proclaim a day of thanksgiving to the Lord for the miracle that was, and is, the United States of America.
The original Thanksgiving in the New World found the early Americans celebrating more than just giving thanks to God for their bounty. The English Colonists tinkered with many forms of government, and one of those systems was one of a community basket, or what today we call "socialism." The socialistic system failed, and many people in a number of the colonies literally starved to death because of the failings of a collectivist system. Without personal incentive, the people did not work their fields as they should, becoming dependent on others to supply the food and supplies to the community stash. However, when the system was changed to one of a free market, where the citizens kept most of what they produced, and then were able to sell or trade their excess in a free market, the new settlements began to flourish, and prosper.
So, one must remember that in addition to giving thanks to God for the birth of this great nation, and giving thanks for the miracle of the U.S. Constitution, Thanksgiving is also an opportunity to thank God for our defeat of socialism way back in the 1600s, which may have very well destroyed America before she had the chance to take her first deep breath. It was freedom, liberty, and a free market that gave the early English Colonists their bounty, and the Founding Fathers understood that. The real question now is, though the Founding Fathers understood the principles of liberty, do we?
Happy Thanksgiving, and may America continue to be the shining beacon on the hill - the light of the world that serves as an example of freedom, prosperity, and one nation under God for all to see, and emulate.

Thanksgiving Feast of the American Colonists
By Douglas V. Gibbs
The Pilgrims were religious separatists who wound up landing way north of their intended target. Since they were separatists, I like to tell people they landed way north of the rest of the Massachusetts Bay Colonies "accidentally on purpose." Many believe as I do that since they were separatists, the Pilgrims from Plymouth, England purposely navigated north of their intended target.
The reason for the Pilgrim's journey to America was to seek religious freedom. They were persecuted in England as the King made it law that everyone be a member of the Church of England. To escape the tyranny, after a short stint in Holland, they braved a treacherous crossing of the Atlantic Ocean that lasted 66 days.
The Pilgrims established a village using a communal system that used a central dispensary for food, and other items. The colonists were expected to work for the good of the community, placing into the central store all of their labors, and taking from it as needed. As Christians, they felt they could trust each other to put forth a good effort, and to be honest about what they took from the central stores for survival. The first winter was brutal, and most of the colonists remained on board the ship. More than half of the new colonists died from exposure, scurvy, and outbreaks of contagious disease. Less than half of the original colonists survived that first winter.
Of the Mayflower’s original travelers that survived through that winter, life was difficult. They were sick, hungry, and psychologically devastated. In the Spring, the colonists all moved ashore, and continued to maintain their collectivist system of communal living.
Days passed, and the Pilgrims were greeted, in English, by an Abenaki Indian. Several days later, as the story goes, he returned with another Native American, Squanto, a member of the Pawtuxet tribe who had been kidnapped by an English sea captain and sold into slavery before escaping to London and returning to his homeland on an exploratory expedition.
Squanto taught the Pilgrims, weakened by malnutrition and illness, how to grow corn, extract and use sap from maple trees, catch fish in the rivers and avoid poisonous plants. Through the process, with Squanto's guidance, the colonists also formed an alliance with the Wampanoag, a local tribe. The friendship lasted more than fifty years, and is a shining example of how the colonists and the Indians attempted to live in harmony in the New World.
The concept of a Thanksgiving Feast is not uniquely American. The Spanish Colonies also had thanksgiving ceremonies and meals as well. The colonists in the New World, be they English, Dutch, French, Spanish, or of any other European origin, were a deeply religious people, and felt it necessary to give thanks to God for their survival, and prosperity, in their new land. The Pilgrims had plenty to be thankful for, and so theirs is the story that has been most publicized (perhaps with a little help from the 1861 push for a Thanksgiving Holiday). However, Turkey was not the dominant item on the menu, nor was many of our other traditional favorites.
The original menu for the first Thanksgiving was very different to what we have on the table today. Wild Turkey may have been an item, but the likely collection of other birds probably included Goose, Duck, Crane, Swan, Partridge, and believe it or not, Eagles. Other meats included Venison, and Seal. Seafood was also a large part of the diet, so the banquet most likely included Cod, Eel, Clams, and Lobster. The corn, not originally an item favorable to the palates of the colonists, was off the cob, ground down into a mush, and made into bread that resembled pita bread. It was a three day banquet, and it was a celebration of survival as a result of good harvests, and capitalism.

The friendship lasted more than fifty years, and is a shining example of how the colonists and the Indians attempted to live in harmony in the New World.
As I like to tell people, the English Colonists were families fighting for survival, and did not desire war with the Indians like the Conquistadors of the Spanish Colonies who wiped out entire tribes, and raped and forcibly took as wives the women of those tribes. The English Colonists did not want to fight with the Indians largely because they needed their help in order to survive. They were not their to create empire, like the Spanish. They were there as individual families to start a new life.
Even after help from Squanto, starvation continued to rampage through the colony because under the communal system not all settlers were putting forth their best effort, and were taking more than they put into the stores. Those that did work hard were angry because they were expected, through their labors, to carry the entire colony. Unrest was breaking out, and the colony knew that if they did not do something about their situation fast, the colony would not survive.
A new system was devised that gave each Pilgrim a parcel of land. They were told this land belonged to them, and they could work the land as they pleased. The settlers would keep all that they produced, and could bring any excess to market to trade with other settlers for goods they desired. This new system moved the colony away from the communal system they had been suffering under, and instead established a system that in today's world we would call "Free Market Capitalism."
The Pilgrims’ first corn harvest proved successful, and as a result of changing their system to a more capitalistic system based on personal incentive, personal responsibility, and self-sufficiency, the colony was not only prospering, but their food was bountiful. In fact, they had so much food, they began to trade with the Indians.
Governor William Bradford, wishing to give thanks to the Lord for their good fortune, organized a celebratory feast and invited their Indian allies, including the Wampanoag chief Massasoit. The festival lasted for three days, and based on writings from the time period the menu is believed to have been rich in fowl and fish.
The fish was most likely cod. Other seafood items included clams, lobsters, and eels. Five deer were brought by the Indians. On the table were also ducks, geese, swan, crane, and perhaps a wild turkey or two. Pumpkin may have been on the menu, along with various berries. The Indians made a stewed mix of corn, roots, beans, squash and various meats called sobaheg. On the table were also onions, turnips, and greens from spinach to chard.
Many of the menu items, it is suggested, were also prepared with traditional Native American spices and cooking methods. Because the Pilgrims had no oven and the Mayflower’s sugar supply had dwindled, the meal did not feature pies, sweet cakes, or other desserts. Because of the culture, it is also possible that the women did not participate.
In 1623, after a long drought that threatened the year's harvest, and yet still a bounty encouraged by their "keep what you produce" capitalistic system, Governor Bradford once again called for a feast for the purpose of giving thanks for the survival and prosperity of the colony.
As the years progressed, a thanksgiving feast on an annual or occasional basis became common practice in other New England settlements. During the American Revolution, the Continental Congress designated one or more days of thanksgiving a year, and in 1789 George Washington issued the first Thanksgiving proclamation. He called upon Americans to express their gratitude and give thanks to God our Lord for the happy conclusion to the country’s war of independence and the successful ratification of the U.S. Constitution. His successors John Adams and James Madison also designated days of thanks during their presidencies.
In 1817, New York officially adopted an annual Thanksgiving holiday.
In 1827, noted magazine editor and prolific writer Sarah Josepha Hale, known for her nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb," began to campaign to establish Thanksgiving as a national holiday. Hale published numerous editorials and sent scores of letters to governors, senators, presidents and other politicians over a period of about thirty-six years. In 1863 at the height of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln heard her cry, and issued a proclamation entreating all Americans to ask God to "commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife" and to "heal the wounds of the nation." He scheduled Thanksgiving for the final Thursday in November, and it was celebrated on that day every year until 1939, when Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the holiday up a week in an attempt to spur retail sales during the Great Depression. Roosevelt’s plan was met with passionate opposition determined to keep with tradition, and in 1941 the president reluctantly signed a bill making Thanksgiving the fourth Thursday in November.
Though turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries (cranberry sauce), and pies were not on that original menu, over the passing of time these have become the traditional menu items of Thanksgiving. The true essence of Thanksgiving, however, is not the meal. This unique American holiday was, and still is, a day for all of us to give thanks to God for our blessings, and for the difficulties we have endured that have made us stronger and wiser. And the story I have given you may not have been technically the "first Thanksgiving," for throughout the colonies there were ceremonies of thanks that predate the Pilgrims' celebration.
Despite the tales of a bloody relationship between the Indians and the settlers, which did exist to some extent as the colonies began to encroach on native hunting grounds, the early tales of Thanksgiving reveals that there was a time when the Indians and colonists existed in harmony, and gave thanks to God for their relationship, and the miraculous survival of the early colonists, thanks to a little concept (though this may not have been the first time a free market style system had been used) we now call today "capitalism."

Cops Foil Plot To Disrupt Macy's Parade
by JASmius
They tried to bring Ferguson to the Big Apple, and the NYPD was having none of it:
I was wondering where all the rioters were during the parade this morning. I'm surprised they could only muster a hundred racist agitators. It doesn't say much for their dedication or their "professionalism".
The least they could have done is shoot down the SpongeBob balloon with a surface to air missile. I've been waiting and hoping for somebody to do that for years. It's the only thing that could make that parade the slightest bit interesting to me.
They tried to bring Ferguson to the Big Apple, and the NYPD was having none of it:
Police held off the mass of demonstrators, who were organized in protest over the lack of an indictment against the white police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black teen on Ferguson, Mo.
The protesters marched south from the New York Public Library and turned right on 37th Street toward Seventh Avenue about 9:30 a.m. – but then tried to make a U-turn toward the parade route.
Police officers told the protesters they couldn’t turn around and the agitators started growing angry, leading some to knock down metal police barricades as parade-goers fled the ruckus. Seven protesters were arrested and will be charged with disorderly conduct, cops said.

Federal Judge Says Illegals Can Sue For Being Detained
by JASmius

Well, this was inevitable:
Causes vertigo-induced projectile nausea, doesn't it? Or motion sickness, at the very least. Is this a tyrannical federal judge attempting to dictate to a tyrannical Executive Branch? Is it a Hispanic federal judge trying to up the pandering-to-Hispanics ante? And just exactly how do non-citizens here not just illegally but having been deported and then come here illegally again - repeat offenders, in other words - have legal standing to sue the federal government or anybody else? Much less on the claim of "fear of persecution"? In Mexico? Central America? Is this not the flimsiest, most contrived mierda the Left has vomited yet?
Allow me to reiterate this again: There is no inherent "human right" to come to this country and suck off of and/or displace actual American citizens. No other non-failed state on the planet refuses to control its borders, protect its national sovereignty, and preserve the meaning and integrity of citizenship. But Obamerikastan? The Cloward-Piven crazy train careens on, with the inevitable national collapse looming ever closer.
Warner Todd Huston is right - we are committing national suicide.
Well, this was inevitable:
A [San Francisco] Bay Area federal judge has given the go-ahead to a nationwide suit by thousands of [illegal aliens] who seek asylum in the United States and accuse the government of illegally keeping them in jail for months.
In rejecting the Obama administration’s attempt to dismiss the suit, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of Oakland ruled that federal law requires officials to decide within ten days whether an undocumented immigrant has a “reasonable fear” of persecution or torture if deported. Immigrants are held without bail while awaiting those decisions.
The law says a decision must be made within ten days unless “exceptional circumstances” exist. Justice Department lawyers argued that immigration officials have the sole authority to define exceptional circumstances and are not bound by any deadline.
But Gonzalez Rogers, in a ruling Friday, said the law’s meaning is clear: Decisions are required within ten days except in rare cases where circumstances justify a delay.

Islamists Exploit Ferguson Riots To Promote 'Resistance' in U.S.
by JASmius

You know the old saying: It isn't paranoia when they really are all out to get you:
And why wouldn't these professional "protestors" welcome that assistance and pledge their allegiance? Remember, while the underlying ideologies of the Left and Islam are fundamentally incompatible, they share a common enemy - Christian America - and each sees the other as a means to a very similar end. Jockeying for dominance can take place after "The Great Satan" has been destroyed.
It isn't just ISIS exploiting the Ferguson Insurrection, BTW:
Allow me to turn around the question I posed above: Why wouldn't Islamic Fundamentalists try to exploit the Ferguson uprising? This is a plumb opportunity for them to dramatically ratchet up their subversive influence in the heart of "The Great Satan". We've already seen how the soullessness of "progressivism" has motivated thousands of young, de-Christianized Westerners to flock to the Islamist banner for the ostensible meaning and purpose that Islam offers. The divisively racist, incendiary attitude and policies of the Obama Regime have created a nationwide powder keg that was just waiting for the spark that Ferguson provided. And now the enemy sees a potential pool of over forty million jihadist recruits they can inspire to rise up, overthrow the U.S. government, and expand the Caliphate's rule to the "infidels'" greatest "Crusader" stronghold. The only real question is why it took ISIS and CAIR and the Nation of Islam and the others so long to launch their hashtag propaganda offensive.
Exit question: With so much "crisis exploitation" competition, how would the Obama Regime go about handling a domestic Islamist uprising? Would they try to suppress it, co-opt it, or join it? I'm as genuinely curious as I am fervently hopeful that we never have to find out.
You know the old saying: It isn't paranoia when they really are all out to get you:
The Islamic State (known by the acronyms of IS, ISIS or ISIL) is exploiting the ongoing violence in Ferguson, Missouri, over a grand jury’s decision not to indict a police officer for shooting and killing an 18-year old African-American.
The Islamic State members are taking to social media to encourage rioters to murder and behead police and political figures. One high-profile Islamic State operative said the group would send fighters to Ferguson if the rioters pledge allegiance to its caliph. In a hand-written note, the operative said:
“We hear you and we will help you if you accept Islam and reject corrupt man-made laws like democracy and pledge your allegiance to Caliph Abu Bakr… and then we will shed our blood for you, and send you soldiers that don’t sleep, whose drink is blood and their play is carnage!”
Other Islamist groups are also exploiting the mayhem in Ferguson to advance their adversarial views of the U.S. government and police.
Most frighteningly, [Louis Farrakhan] reportedly told African-Americans to rise up against the U.S. government as the Palestinians have risen up against Israel. In August, he justified the terrorism of Hamas against Israel and compared it to the struggle of blacks in America.
In front of 2,000 attendees in Maryland, Farrakhan happily proclaimed, “They know an explosion is going to come.” The reaction was not shock or a worried silence. It was cheers.
Islamists with softer tones like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are also using the Ferguson situation to increase their influence.....
Zahra Billoo, the director of CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area chapter, is citing the grand jury’s decision against indicting Officer Darren Wilson as part of a “tyranny” that must be challenged with “resistance.”
Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation and the National Day of Thanksgiving
Posted by Douglas V. Gibbs
During last Thursday's Temecula Constitution Class, one of the attendees read Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation. Mr. Lincoln's Proclamation of Thanksgiving is the proclamation that established the precedent for America's national day of Thanksgiving to be a national holiday. The day of Thanksgiving was an important observance to Abraham Lincoln, and in fact, on November 28, 1861, he ordered government departments closed for a local day of thanksgiving.
Sarah Josepha Hale, a 74-year-old magazine editor, wrote a letter to Lincoln on September 28, 1863, urging him to have the "day of our annual Thanksgiving made a National and fixed Union Festival." She explained, "You may have observed that, for some years past, there has been an increasing interest felt in our land to have the Thanksgiving held on the same day, in all the States; it now needs National recognition and authoritive fixation, only, to become permanently, an American custom and institution."
Prior to Lincoln's Proclamation, States scheduled the Thanksgiving holiday based on their independent schedules, often at different times than other States. President Lincoln responded to Mrs. Hale's request immediately. The woman had been an advocate for a national day of thanksgiving for 15 years, and prior Presidents had ignored her requests.

George Washington was the first president under the United States Constitution to proclaim a day of thanksgiving, issuing his request on October 3, 1789, exactly 74 years before Lincoln's.
In Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation, he sets apart the last Thursday of November "as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise."

A Proclamation.
The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consiousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed.
Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the Unites States the Eighty-eighth.

NFL Thanksgiving 2014
by JASmius

The flesh of the bird, the skin of the pig, the tryp to the phan, and huge mounds of carbohydrates - when it's dark, cold, wet, and dismal outside, does it get any better than that?
From the NFL's point of view, it could be worse. Typically, with Detroit and Dallas always playing host on Thanksgiving, and with Detroit and Dallas usually the epitome of mediocrity, the quality of the day's football fare tends to be more than a little lacking. But some of today's matchups are actually borderline-riveting, and the one that isn't is, fortunately, scheduled for most families' dinner times.

Ever wondered what an all-out fight between a grizzly bear and an African lion would look like?
Well, I can tell you with absolute confidence that that spectacle would be far more interesting than anything that will take place at Detroit's Ford Field today, where Chicago brings its #29 passing defense to get shredded by Matt Stafford, Golden Tate, "Megatron," and the #10 passing offense in the NFL. And since neither team can run the ball worth crap, and the Lions sport the league's #10 passing defense, the only thing that might keep this game watchable is Detroit's penchant for kicking away games in which they are heavily favored.
CBS, in other words, drew the short straw.
Chicago
Detroit* (-7)

A battle for first place in the NFC East, and with the rematch coming in a couple of weeks at the Linc. Hard to beat this matchup. It's got just what the networks love: great offenses and mediocre defenses. DeMarco Murray and LeSean McCoy should run up big rushing numbers, but it's that big, fat #30 Eagles passing defense that will have Tony Romo's mouth watering more than any buffet Jerry Jones could possibly come up with. Eagles backup quarterback Mark "Butt Fumble" Sanchez is actually playing pretty well in relief of the injured Nick Foles, but there's no way he's going to be able to keep up here.
Philadelphia (+3)
Dallas*
And finally, the main course.

The rematch of one of the greatest NFC Championship games ever played and resumption of the best rivalry in the NFL. "The Tip" signifies it all.
Or at least NBC was hoping the Champs and the Forty Whiners would pick up right where they left off. Seattle's and San Francisco's respective seasons don't have quite the sizzle of last year's glory, tied at 7-4, two games behind the Arizona Cardinals. Both clubs have been injury-decimated this year, and both have been plagued by inconsistency. But both have "hung around," and now that the Cardinals appear to be starting to falter, following Carson Palmer's second injury of the season, the NFC West is looking like it might be coming back into play for its last two winners.
As usual, if you tuned in the Eagles-Cowboys game for offense, you're tuning this one in for defense. As in #1 (Seahawks) and #2 (49ers). This is going to be another trademark 'hawks-Niners slugfest where who can run the ball better, and who has the ball last, will likely determine which team comes out on top.
With middle linebacker Bobby Wagner back in the lineup to help offset the season-ending run-stopping loss of defensive tackle Brandon Mebane to a hamstring tear, the Champs' top-ranked rushing attack, and the fact that San Francisco has never looked impressive this year and at times has looked godawful, I'm going to go with the slight upset, and the 'hawks first win down the coast in six years, and first ever at the Big Bell Bottom.
Seattle* (+1)
San Francisco
I told a friend at church this past Sunday that the Champs would either lose to the Cards and Niners or we would beat them both. By this Sunday evening we could be a game up on San Fran and a game back of Arizona with the proverbial wind at our backs. And with no true dominant team in the NFC this year, momentum at the right time may be all it takes to get back to the promised land once again.

Amnesty + ObamaCare = Massive Layoffs
by JASmius

More Obama "incompetence," or another "Mission Accomplished" banner for the Oval Office?:
Oh, I don't know about that, Mr. Morris. Why couldn't The One simply decree another delay of the employer mandate? In fact, that might be a good indicator of whether or not he's going to permit the 2016 election to take place, as if he's planning on remaining in office indefinitely, he'd have no more reason for any additional mandate deferrals. On the other hand, he could simply issue another diktat declaring illegals eligible to receive ObamaCare.
Or he could simply do nothing and allow working citizens to be replaced with illegal aliens en masse, and then issue a decree making the latter eligible for ObamaCare. That's the option on which I would put my dwindling pile of money.
It's amazing, isn't it, what can be accomplished with a pen, a phone, and two extended middle fingers.

It's good to be the king.

Barack Obama’s amnesty for illegal immigrants will produce a disaster of unparalleled magnitude when the ObamaCare employer mandate kicks in.
Those granted amnesty will not be eligible for ObamaCare. The amnesty will merely keep them safe from deportation; it won’t make them legal. And ObamaCare can only go to citizens and legal noncitizens living in the U.S.
But the employer mandate in ObamaCare requires large companies to offer insurance to each of their full-time workers or pay a hefty fine to the government for failing to do so.
Combine these two programs and you have a huge incentive for employers to dismiss any blue-collar workers on their payroll and replace them with illegal immigrants covered by amnesty. These folks are allowed to work but not to get ObamaCare. An employer can’t be fined for failing to offer ObamaCare to employees who are ineligible to receive it. It’s an employer’s dream!

Thanksgiving Proclamation
[New York, 3 October 1789]
By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks--for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed--for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted--for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions-- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually--to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed--to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord--To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us--and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Happy Thanksgiving from President John Hanson
By Douglas V. Gibbs
Before George Washington, and before the Constitution of the United States, the government for which the fledgling nation that had just won independence from Great Britain existed under was established by the Articles of Confederation. Written during wartime, the Articles joined the States in a loose-knit union, and the first President of the United States, under the Articles of Confederation, was John Hanson.
On October 11, 1782, President Hanson declared a day of Thanksgiving. The Day of Thanksgiving took place on November 28, 1782. The proclamation was published in "The Independent Gazetteer; or, the Chronicle of Freedom" on November 5, 1782.
The following is President John Hanson's proclamation:
It being the indispensable duty of all nations, not only to offer up their supplications to Almighty God, the giver of all good, for His gracious assistance in a time of distress, but also in a solemn and public manner, to give Him praise for His goodness in general, and especially for great and signal interpositions of His Providence in their behalf; therefore, the Unites States in Congress assembled, taking into their consideration the many instances of Divine goodness to these States in the course of the important conflict, in which they have been so long engaged, - the present happy and promising state of public affairs, and the events of the war in the course of the year now drawing to a close; particularly the harmony of the public Councils which is so necessary to the success of the public cause, - the perfect union and good understanding which has hitherto subsisted between them and their allies, notwithstanding the artful and unwearied attempts of the common enemy to divide them, - the success of the arms of the United States and those of their allies, - and the acknowledgment of their Independence by another European power, whose friendship and commerce must be of great and lasting advantage to these States; Do hereby recommend it to the inhabitants of these States in general, to observe and request the several states to interpose their authority, in appointing and commanding the observation of THURSDAY the TWENTY-EIGHTH DAY OF NOVEMBER next as a day of SOLEMN THANKSGIVING to GOD for all His mercies; and they do further recommend to all ranks to testify their gratitude to God for His goodness by a cheerful obedience to His laws and by promoting, each in his station, and by his influence, the practice of true and undefiled religion, which is the great foundation of public prosperity and national happiness.

Snow Falls on Ferguson, Missouri
By Douglas V. Gibbs
During Tuesday's unrest, two guns, a Molotov cocktail, and items thrown at officers were seized.
Ron Johnson, Missouri State Highway Patrol captain, said officers had "not seen anything of this magnitude."
On Monday Night, directly after the grand jury's decision, more than a dozen buildings were set ablaze, while other businesses were looted and cars were set on fire. Overall, there were 21 fires and 61 arrests, 32 for burglary. Three officers were injured in the mayhem, which was spread over four square miles.
The police are searching for the AR-15 Rifle stolen from the police car that was set on fire when the riots began after a grand jury decided not to indict Darren Wilson for the shooting of Michael Brown. As the police conducted their search, and the National Guard remained in position, snow began to fall, reducing the number of opportunists willing to brave the cold weather.
Protesters say the demonstrations are physically wearing them down, but the anger remains.
With fist in the air, the sign of black power, a Black Nationalist sign, reminds society of where this racial division could progress to. . . if we are willing to remember history, and recall the rise of agitators that have always hoped for Helter Skelter.

Southern California Ferguson Protesters Block Freeway in San Diego
By Douglas V. Gibbs
Diana Serafin, a local conservative activist in Murrieta, California, said to me on the phone a little while ago, "Now they've blocked Interstate 5 down in San Diego."
Her hat tip was exactly right.
University of California at San Diego students, protesting the grand jury decision in Ferguson, Missouri, marched onto the freeway in La Jolla just north of San Diego and blocked Interstate 5, completely blocking traffic and bringing it to a stand still, for about 40 minutes. Angry motorists yelled at the demonstrators, some exiting their vehicles to do so, and at one point a motorist got into a brief physical confrontation with the leader of the group blocking the freeway. The marchers were eventually dispersed by San Diego police, and continued their march on surface streets. There has been no reports of arrests.
The leader of the protesters shouted his message with a bullhorn, holding signs criticizing the grand jury decision in Ferguson. Police monitored the group as they continued along city streets.

The claim of the protesters was that they were trying to make people pay attention to what they see as a pattern of institutional violence against black people in the U.S. (never mind that 90% of violence against black people is by other black people).
In a statement filled with erroneous fiction, one UCSD student said, “What led to this demonstration is the fact that every 28 hour a black person is killed by a police officer, a security guard or a vigilante, and it’s very unlawful. Most often these black people who are murdered are unarmed and their killers go free.”

Like the protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, the UCSD students have obeyed magnificently as mindless pawns, the racial and class division the liberal left desires, and they have done exactly what the ruling class has encouraged them to do. Unable to think for themselves, they have picked up the banner of statism, and they have decided to side with the tyrants who seek to enslave them under the plantation of government control.

Powerful 6.8 Earthquake Strikes Off Coast of Indonesia
By Douglas V. Gibbs
The United States Geological Service states that a 6.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Indonesia. The epicenter of the earthquake was off the coast, about 25 miles below the seabed. No tsunami warning has been issue.
No damage has been reported as being caused by the late evening earthquake. When the quake struck, people ran out of their homes more in fear of a massive tsunami, than form the rattling. In 2004, an earthquake near Sumatra caused a tsunami that killed 230,000 people.

This earthquake follows another 6.8 magnitude event further north along the Pacific Rim of Fire from a few days ago. That earthquake slammed central Japan, injuring 13 people (5 were injured seriously), and temporarily trapping 21 at Hakuba Village. The earthquake destroyed five houses in Hakuba village, host to some of the Winter Olympic events during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games, but that the 21 villagers trapped were successfully rescued.

Abortion Doctor Returns Child to Pedophile
Posted by Douglas V. Gibbs
November 24, 2014 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE by Life Dynamics
“Don’t think this case is a one of a kind case. It is actually very typical of what we see on a regular basis from the abortion industry,” ~ Life Dynamics president, Mark Crutcher.
An abortionist in Florida who returned a child to her sexual abuser after performing an abortion on her is still in business despite his flagrant disregard of mandatory reporting laws in the state.
Life Dynamics Inc., a national pro-life organization located in Denton, Texas discovered this while doing research to document how the abortion industry covers for child sexual predators. That research has been published in a report entitled, The Cover-Up of Child Sexual Abuse which can be read herewww.childpredators.com.
The report reveals that the failure of abortion clinics to comply with mandatory reporting laws is having profound, real-world consequences for the victims of child sexual abuse.
Case in point is that of a 12-year-old victim who was taken to a National Abortion Federation clinic operated by Florida abortionist Michael Benjamin by the pedophile who impregnated her, Jermaine Jones, in an attempt to cover-up his crime.
CONNECTING THE DOTS:
Life Dynamics discovered that the Florida Board of Medicine had an open case against Benjamin who runs an abortion clinic out of his Tamarac office, ( a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale) for not reporting an abortion he performed on a 12-year-old child.
At the same time, Life Dynamics was reviewing a file for a pedophile who had sexually raped a 12-year-old girl and had taken her for an abortion in the same area. Life Dynamics then requested the arrest and offense report for the rapist from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department and realized that these two cases were the same. The details were shocking, graphic, and tragic.
Although mandatory reporters, the rape of this child was essentially covered-up by two abortion clinics and their staff, the National Abortion Federation, as well as the abortionist.
In response, Life Dynamics has decided to emphasize the importance of prosecuting those who fail to report the sexual abuse of children by publishing a timeline of the events in this case.
To protect her identity, Life Dynamics will refer to the young victim as “Emily.”
In May/June of 2009 Florida authorities say that 34 year-old Jermaine Jones began sexually assaulting the 12-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, Janet Marshall, and, by November, the child was pregnant.
What happened over the next days should horrify the public and law enforcement alike.
ABORTION CLINIC NUMBER ONE
November 2, 2009
“Emily” is pregnant and is taken to an abortion clinic identified in a police report as being on 23rd Avenue in Gainesville, Florida. This is presumed to be the All Women’s Health Center located at 1135 NW 23rd Avenue. This facility is a member of the National Abortion Federation. (NAF)
A member of the clinic staff informs Marshall that her daughter’s pregnancy is too advanced for them to do the abortion. Marshall is then instructed to call the NAF hotline for a referral to another one of its facilities where later abortions are done.
THE NATIONAL ABORTION FEDERATION
A counselor on the hotline refers Marshall to a NAF facility in Tamarac, Florida, operated by abortionist Michael Benjamin. During that call, the counselor also informs Marshall that NAF has a fund she can access that will pay for all but $200 of the cost. Jones and Marshall schedule the abortion and leave with “Emily” for the six-hour drive to Tamarac.
ABORTION CLINIC NUMBER TWO
November 4, 2009
Using ultrasound, Benjamin establishes the pregnancy at 24 weeks and begins a multi-day abortion procedure by installing cervical dilators. It is later determined by state health department investigators that Benjamin’s pre-abortion counseling with “Emily” lasted between six and eight minutes.
“Emily” is brought back to the clinic for additional dilation. At this time, digoxin was injected into the heart of her unborn child in order to cause death.
November 6, 2009
Benjamin completes the abortion by removing the dead baby intact. Afterward, he releases “Emily” to Jones who then leaves with her.
RAPE REPORTED BY PEDIATRICIAN NOT ABORTION CLINICS OR NAF
Mid-November, 2009
During a check-up of “Emily” by a pediatrician in Alachua County, Florida, the doctor determines that she has been sexually active and reports it to the Florida Department of Children and Families. Their investigation confirmed that an illegal sexual relationship had existed and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Department (ACSD) was notified.
January 11, 2010
As part of its investigation, the Sheriff’s Department requests documents from the Medical Quality Assurance division of the Florida Department of Health (FDH) necessary to file a complaint against Benjamin for failing to comply with his duties as a mandated reporter.
February 10, 2010
Jones is arrested by Alachua County Sheriff’s Department detectives.
March 8, 2010
Jones is indicted on two felony charges related to the sexual assaults on “Emily.”
May 27, 2010
Jones pleads guilty and receives a 15-year prison sentence.
MEDICAL BOARD FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST BENJAMIN
January 21, 2011
The Florida Department of Health files an Administrative Complaint against Benjamin related to hisfailure to comply with the state’s mandatory reporting statute. During the ensuing investigation, an employee of this abortion clinic tells officials that she was not sure why no report was made, saying “Maybe we’ve been hardened with so many kids coming in.”
April 14, 2014
In addition to assessing a $10,000 fine against Benjamin, the Florida Department of Health (FDH) ordered Michael Benjamin to pay the costs associated with their investigation and said that he must attend classes regarding his duties to report suspected child sexual abuse.
BENJAMIN TO BE MONITORED BY CO-WORKER FROM ABORTION CLINIC INVOLVED IN SIMILAR INCIDENT
The FDH also put Benjamin’s medical license on probation for two years and assigned Dr. Frank Rodriquez to monitor him during that period. This was done, despite the fact that Rodriquez and Benjamin were known to be co-workers at another NAF abortion clinic where, in 2006, an incident similar to the one involving “Emily” had occurred.
In that case, high school teacher, Andrew Loyd Foster, impregnated one of his underage students and took her to the Presidential Women’s Center in Palm Beach County for an abortion.
Florida Education Practices Commission against Andrew Loyd Foster. Case no. 09-0218-RT
Approximately three months later, the victim’s mother learned of the situation and contacted authorities. Given this gap in time, it is obvious that the clinic did not file a report with the state. It was also found that Foster had not only engaged in a sexual relationship with this girl, but with another minor student at the same time. In 2008, he was convicted on two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and sentenced to five years in prison.
Let’s Recap:
• Abortionist Michael Benjamin does a 24-week abortion on a 12-year-old child after a six-to-eight minute counseling session with her.
• Following the procedure, Benjamin releases the girl to the adult male who was assaulting her and had driven her six hours to the abortion clinic.
• Although neither of the two abortion clinics where this child was taken complied with the state’s mandatory reporting law, no criminal charges were brought against anyone at either facility. This was also true about the counselor on the NAF hotline even though there can be no doubt that he or she was made aware of the patient’s age.
• Benjamin was given a slap on the wrist by the health department to be overseen by one of his colleagues. Today, Benjamin continues to operate his Tamarac abortion clinic and he is still a member of the National Abortion Federation.
• If the pediatrician who saw “Emily” after the abortion had also ignored the mandatory reporting law, this sexual predator would not have been apprehended. In that case, it is virtually certain that (a) his assaults on this child would have resumed and (b) there would have been additional victims in the future.
Life Dynamics president, Mark Crutcher said that the details of this case, as shocking as they appear are not unique, “Don’t think this case is a one of a kind case. It is actually very typical of what we see on a regular basis from the abortion industry.”
Crutcher encourages the public to review Life Dynamics’ Child Predators website and to pressure law enforcement officials to prosecute those who violate mandatory reporting laws, “It is self-evident that when a minor girl seeks an abortion, she represents a textbook example of why mandatory reporting laws were created in the first place. Despite this, we have consistently found that the law enforcement community is functionally indifferent to the problem of abortion clinics not complying with mandatory reporting statutes even in the face of irrefutable evidence that violations are occurring. Among all the cases we researched we never found one example in which criminal charges were brought against an abortion clinic employee for failing to comply with their state’s mandatory reporting statutes andMichael Benjamin was no exception..”
All legal documents necessary to confirm this analysis are on file at Life Dynamics Incorporated in Denton, Texas.
