The last United States World War I veteran has died at the age of 110. Frank Woodruff Buckles died in his home near Charles Town, West Virginia on Sunday, February 27, 2011 according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Buckles was America's last survivor of the First World War. He served overseas in France as an ambulance driver in the United States Army when he was just 16 years old.
