DHS: Most Illegals In Recent Surge Have Vanished

Shocking.

I mean that the Regime publicly admitted it so soon:

For nearly three months this summer, the Obama administration carefully avoided answering questions about what happened to tens of thousands of immigrant families caught illegally crossing the Mexican border and released into the United States with instructions to report back to immigration authorities.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and others said they faced deportation. But it turns out that tens of thousands of those immigrants did not follow the government's instructions to meet with federal immigration agents within 15 days. Instead, they have vanished into the interior of the U.S.

The Homeland Security Department privately acknowledged that about 70% of immigrant families failed to report as ordered. The disclosure came during a confidential meeting at its Washington headquarters with immigration advocates participating in a federal working group on detention and enforcement policies.

70%; that's actually a lower percentage than I would have expected.  Which means that even this undenied private disclosure is likely still another tiresome mendacity.

Credit where credit is due: Republicans fulfilled their duty to protest impotently:

Republican lawmakers have been critical of the administration's decision to release any immigrants caught crossing the border illegally.

"With this administration's failure to enforce our immigration laws, it is no surprise that 70% of the families released take their chances to stay here and don't show up for their follow-up appointments or court dates," House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-VA6, said.

No, it isn't a surprise.  It is, in fact, entirely, and tiresomely, predictable.  As is the fact that there's not a damned thing we can do about it.  And both we and Barack Obama damned well know it.

What's that expression?  "La unión hace la fuerza, combinado pateamos el trasero". Either something gets lost in the translation, or I don't think it applies to American citizens anymore.
