The leadership in Puerto Rico is liberal left Democrat. Therefore, it is no surprise that the politicians of the U.S. Territory are very critical of the GOP, and that the more radical of the leftists on that island are especially out to challenge anything associated with President Donald Trump. The San Juan Mayor, in fact, after Puerto Rico was slammed and nearly completely destroyed by Hurricane Irma and a direct hit by Hurricane Maria (the storms were only two weeks apart, to boot), challenged the President about his administration getting aid to the island territory in the Caribbean.
I have heard reports that getting aid in has been difficult, not because of the lack of aid available, but because the roads and transportation industry was so devastated by the hurricanes.
That said, Mayor Caren Yuliz Cruz Soto was not about to let Trump get off so easily. The Democrat slammed him, trashing Trump in a speech on Friday for his failure to get anything done regarding the needs of the territory, screaming, “I’m mad as hell because my people’s lives are at stake… We are dying, and you (Trump) are killing us with inefficiency”
President Trump responded, as expected, this morning, questioning the leadership of San Juan Mayor Cruz and accusing her of refusing to stand united as the devastation is being addressed.
"We must all be united in offering assistance to everyone suffering in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in the wake of this terrible disaster," the president tweeted.
He called out three government officials for praise.
“The Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, is a great guy and leader who is really working hard,” Trump said. “Thank you Ricky!”
“Just spoke to Governor Kenneth Mapp of the U.S. Virgin Islands who stated that #FEMA and Military are doing a GREAT job! Thank you Governor!” the president said.
He also tweeted: “Congresswoman Jennifer Gonzalez-Colon of Puerto Rico has been wonderful to deal with and a great representative of the people. Thank you!”
As for the Mayor of San Juan? The hardcore Democrat got what she deserved from President Trump.
“Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help,” Trump said in a series of tweets. "They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.”
He also tweeted: "Results of recovery efforts will speak much louder than complaints by San Juan Mayor. Doing everything we can to help great people of PR!"
Mayor Cruz responded later Saturday morning vowing that she’ll “continue to do whatever I have to do” to get federal hurricane assistance.
Trump continued his response, nailing it all on the head when he tweeted: “The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump.”
Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello, a Democrat, has said the administration is being responsive to the island's needs and on Saturday appeared to try to deflect questions about Cruz's comments.
Trump's acting homeland security secretary, Elaine Duke, visited the island Friday, surveying the landscape by helicopter in an hour-long tour, driving past still-flooded streets, twisted billboards and roofs with gaping holes, and offering encouragement to some of the 10,000 emergency personnel she says the U.S. government has on the ground.
Trump is expected to survey the damage Tuesday.
Thousands more Puerto Ricans got water and rationed food Friday as the aid bottleneck largely caused by the debris on the roads and lack of vehicles to carry the goods began to ease.
Trump said Puerto Rico is "totally unable" to handle the catastrophe on its own. "They are working so hard, but there's nothing left," he said. "It's been wiped out." He said the government is "fully engaged in the disaster and the response and recovery effort."
Mayor Cruz, while criticizing Trump's effort without any reasonable evidence supporting her criticisms, is the same woman who praised Obama (and a terrorist) when he (President Obama) commuted the prison sentence of FALN terrorist leader Oscar Lopez Rivera.
FEMA administrator Brock Long took issue with Mayor Cruz's attacks, and defended a series of tweets from President Trump blasting San Juan’s mayor for criticizing the relief efforts following Hurricane Maria.
Long stated Cruz has failed to connect with the FEMA command center set up on the island to help with the relief effort.
“The problem that we have with the mayor unfortunately is that unity of command is ultimately what’s needed to be successful in this response,” Long told CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield.
“What we need is for the mayor, the good mayor, to make her way to the joint field office and get plugged into what’s going on and be successful,” he continued, adding that, “I think that’s the bottom line on that tweet.”
In other words, what we have is an incompetent Democrat who failed miserably, and has refused to make an effort on her part when it comes to communication with the administration's agencies on the island, but won't take responsibility for her refusal to lift a finger, and like all other Democrats who have no reasonable leg to stand on decided to just blame the Republicans, and more specifically, President Donald Trump.

I am waiting for the accusations of racism to emerge from her. That's usually the next step when a liberal leftist has no facts to back up their idiotic statements.
