Nobody knows who did it, but the truth of the fake signs have caught everyone's attention. At a few locations as you enter California, beneath the "Welcome to California" sign there is another sign that has been added. "OFFICIAL SANCTUARY STATE," with messages welcoming felons, illegals and gang-bangers.
“Democrats Need The Votes!” it reads after the initial message.
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is trying to take them down as they appear.
California is officially a “sanctuary state.” The law making the Golden State a Sanctuary State bars police from asking people about their immigration status or participating in federal immigration enforcement activities in most cases. It is estimated California has over 2 million illegal aliens, though I personally believe that number is much much larger.
A year ago Malibu also got it's own sign. It read, "Official Sanctuary City 'Cheap Nannies and Gardeners Make Malibu Great!' (Boyle Heights Not So Much.)".
