The problem with the progressive left is that they can't see passed the tip of their nose.
The progressive agenda blinds them, dumbs them down, because truth and common sense does not exist if it doesn't serve their leftist vision...the ends justifies the means.
Brian Williams of NBC has proven to be one of those mindless liberal left automatons, quick to try to serve the agenda, but not so quick to think very deeply. He proved it while interviewing New York Times editorial board member, and fellow hard left loony, Mara Gay. The discussion was about Mike Bloomberg, and the $500 million he fed into his campaign before ending it. What a waste of money, was essentially the agreement between Williams and Gay.
Gay commented, "Somebody tweeted recently that with the money he spent he could've given every American a million dollars."
Williams chimed in, "put it up on the screen. When I read it, ah, tonight on social media, it kind of all became clear."
The tweet read, "Mike Bloomberg could have given each American $1 million and still have money left over."
Really?
Maybe you could have given five hundred people a million bucks, each, but not a million dollars to every American.
Do these people even understand simple math?
To give each American a million bucks, which as of 2020 our population is about 331,000,000, you would need $331,000,000,000,000 (that's three hundred and thirty one trillion dollars ... of which nobody has).
On the program they quoted our population at 327 million, which still is way off from one million bucks per person. Williams quoted the Tweet on the program, which was by journalist Mekita Rivas:
“Bloomberg spent $500 million on ads. The U.S. population is 327 million. He could have given each American $1 million and still have money left over, I feel like a $1 million check would be life-changing for people. Yet he wasted it all on ads and STILL LOST."
Are you stupid, or something?
First of all, if you gave everyone a million dollars, there would be too much money in the system, and it would become worthless. So, how would that help the American People? Basic economics, you stupid dimwits. Did anyone read their history books about the Wiemar Republic? (Post World War I) Too much money printed and inserted into the system put the people in a position where it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread.
As for the idiotic math part of the whole thing, if the population of the United States was 327 million people, as claimed by Rivas, and you divided $500 million evenly for each person in the United States, each person would get $1.53.
During the commercial break the truth was revealed to Williams, and when he came back on he apologized.
"While I have you both and our audience paying attention, turns out Mara and I got the same grades at math. I'm speaking of the tweet we both misinterpreted. He could give each American $1," he said. "Again, I didn't have it in high school. I don't have it tonight. I stand corrected. Sorry about that. The tweet is wrong."
Sorry, Brian. Damage Done. You're an idiot. If you don't understand math, then you definitely don't understand economics, and that, my friend, is why you are not a free market conservative. If you understand economics, it's impossible to be anything other than a free market conservative, unless you are rooting for tyranny, and equal misery for all. Then, well, you'll fall for this kind of thing every day of the week.
