Jesse Jackson Calls Phil Robertson More Offensive Than Rosa Parks Bus Driver

By Douglas V. Gibbs

For you youngsters who don't know who Rosa Parks was, during the Civil Rights battle in the 1960s, she refused to sit in the back of the bus as was expected of blacks during that time, and she became an icon of the period, representative of the struggle for Equal Rights.  Reverend Jesse Jackson, who sees "race" in everything that bugs him, has decided Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson's remark about the homosexual lifestyle, was worse than the white bus driver demanding that Rosa Parks sit in the back of the bus.

Once again, the hard left is trying to get you to believe that the drive for the justification of a sexual deviation, the push to silence all opposition to homosexuality, and the attempt to ultimately eliminate Christian morals from our society, is akin to "racial" discrimination that blacks endured during the Civil Rights Era.

Of course, these people are also the same folks that want you to believe we are more of a racist nation, overall, than ever before - even while a black man resides in the White House.

Jackson was referring to Robertson's gay remarks, and he also claimed the man's comments had an anti-black ring to them, as well.  Something about the Duck Dynasty star daring to say that during the Jim Crow era, blacks weren't constantly miserable - and in fact, thanks to Jesus, were a happy, whistling bunch.

How dare he!

In reality, Phil Robertson's remarks in a GQ Magazine interview were not inflammatory.  He was asked questions designed to corner him, and he answered them honestly.  However, since the leftists don't understand the premise of Robertson's position, which largely hangs on his faith in Christ, they have claimed Robertson was out of line - which encouraged A&E to suspend the very popular reality celebrity.

Of course, if you say anything that disagrees with the liberal left agenda, you must be forced into silence, you are spewing hate speech, and it opens the Left up to comparing you to pretty much any disgusting thing they can think of.

Jackson went on to say, "At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law. Robertson's statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was 'white privilege.'"

Is Jackson complaining about a lack of laws that would have otherwise enabled government to shut Robertson up with legal force?

Jackson and GLAAD said they believe it's not right for a personality with such a large platform to benefit from such comments.  They stopped short of demanding that the gestapo arrest the Christian for daring to speak freely.

Remember, Senator Diane Feinstein has determined that if you disagree with the liberal left, free speech is not a right, but a special privilege - which apparently can be revoked by well-funded fascist gays, racist preachers like Jackson, and power hungry democrats who agree with the Marxist idiom that peace comes when there is no opposition.

Robertson says his comments were quotes from the Bible. "I didn't think much of it at all, but it seems a lot of other people did," he said.

Welcome to Orwellian America, where truth is radical hate speech, and propaganda is protected and supported by well-funded radicals, and powerful Marxist politicians.

The Six States of California

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The proposal to split up the massive State of California is nothing new.  Usually, it is a battle between Northern California, and Southern California, with water being the dividing issue.  In the case of venture capitalist Tim Draper, he would like to see it broken up into six states.  His reasoning is to give more power to the tech-money in California, largely by the way of increasing the area's representation in the United States Senate.

Never mind that the Senate is set up the way it is partly to keep the more populated States from dominating the political scene in Washington.

Draper is working to get the proposal on the ballot, but according to the United States Constitution, Article IV, Section 3, the State Legislature in Sacramento, and the United States Congress, would have to approve the break-up, as well.  The people can vote for such a split up of the State of California all they want, but without Sacramento and Washington behind it, it will never happen.

Remember, it wasn't too long ago that thirteen counties in Southern California were considering a similar action, as suggested by Riverside County politician, Jeff Stone.

I don't believe the liberal left power grabbers in Sacramento would be willing to give up that much power, and tax money.

Another reason Draper may want to split up the State is because under liberal leadership the business end of California is dying.  Regulations and taxes are through the roof, and companies are bailing out of the State, and are going to places like Texas, where conservative leadership provides a much more business-friendly environment.

In other words, to fix California we don't need to break it up into little pieces.  To fix California, we must free it from the insanity of liberal left leadership.

Most people don't see that happening anytime soon.  However, let's remember that as bad as the Golden State is now under the Marxist leadership of Jerry Brown, and his gestapo, the State was in much worse shape in the Sixties before Ronald Reagan got the State turned around.

Obamacare Heroin

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Not Obamacare Heroine.  This is not a story about how Michelle Obama found a way to save Obamacare - which, by the way, can't be saved.  This is a story about Obamacare Heroin. . . you know, the drug that is usually associated with people who have railroad tracks up and down their limbs because of all the needles.

The car carrying the heroin was stopped by Massachusetts Police, and what they found was 1,250 packets of heroin stamped "Obamacare" and "Kurt Cobain."  A state police dog sniffed out the bags of heroin.

According to police, heroin stamped with numbers, words or symbols to identify who's selling it, is not unusual.  "Obamacare" stamped on it, however, is apparently unusual.

I am figuring they were selling the stuff to government free loaders so that the people would be so high they'd "think" the Obamacare website, and law, was working wonderfully.

It is interesting that the heroin was stamped "Obamacare," and Kurt Cobain."  That, of course, carries with it an interesting connection, since they are both dead. . . though in different ways.

"I Stand With Phil" Petition Links Restored On Twitter

by JASmius

http://istandwithphil.com/

Interesting, as I must have missed the story reporting that Twitter had severed those links:

"I stand with Phil" petition links have been restored on Twitter after supporters of the "Duck Dynasty" patriarch, Phil Robertson, claimed the social media site purposely blocked the website for political reasons.

Earlier in the week, Twitter users attempting to post links to the "I stand with Phil" petition website were prevented from doing so, receiving messages that the content they were posting contained malware or that the site was spam.

Well, now, that's an interesting coincidence.  One that, curiously enough, Twitter lunged to disavow:

In a statement to MarketingLand.com on Tuesday, Twitter claimed the incident was an "error" stemming from an "outside organization."

"The URL IStandWithPhil.com was mistakenly flagged as spam tonight, by an outside organization that tracks spam sources. We have restored access and apologize for the error" Twitter told MarketingLand.com.

Actually, I'm inclined to believe Twitter's alibi, given the sheer magnitude of the blowback against A&E's actions.  If the former wanted a pound of duck flesh, I'd think they would have blocked any pro-Robertson links to begin with.  To do so deliberately and then flee for the tall grass at the first squawk of "I Stand With Phil" protest not only creates PR trouble Twitter doesn't need but would make them look cowardly and insufficiently committed to the sodomite cause, which would only draw heat from that direction as well.

Though I wouldn't mind knowing the identity of this "outside organization" that bolleaxed the links.  Was it Lavender sabotage, perhaps?

Obama, and NSA Surveillance

I think the New York Times Headline, and first paragraph says it all. . .

White House Tries to Prevent Judge From Ruling on Surveillance Efforts

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration moved late Friday to prevent a federal judge in California from ruling on the constitutionality of warrantless surveillance programs authorized during the Bush administration, telling a court that recent disclosures about National Security Agency spying were not enough to undermine its claim that litigating the case would jeopardize state secrets.

I want you to note that the author ensured that the phrase, "authorized during the Bush administration," was added. . . because as far as the Democrats are concerned, Obama is innocent of all wrong doing, and everything remains to be Bush's fault. . . .  but if that was the case, then why would Obama be working to block any judicial interference with his NSA surveillance efforts?

After the Deadline, and the Extension of the Deadline, Obamacare Still Sucks

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, is a failure.  I don't think the leftists even expected it to be this big of a pile of stink.  Don't misunderstand me.  I believe the health care law was designed to fail.  What the Democrats want is full throttle, government controlled, socialized medicine.  They want government involved in every step of your life, and they have been wanting it for over a century.

Barack Obama, and his minions, knew that they could never get single-payer right out the gate, so they pulled this wonderful pile of manure out of somebody's desk, blew the dust off of it, and figured they'd know what it really said after they got it passed.  It was not designed to succeed because if it did, then there would be no excuse to go to Universal Health Care.  So, Obamacare was tampered with in such a way that it would fail, and take the private industry down with it.  Then, when that happened, the leftists figured the American People would be crying out for help, because the progressives have been successful in convincing everyone that health insurance is more important than breathing itself.  In other words, if they can't convince Americans they want socialized medicine now, they would do things to change the minds of Americans, so that they get to the point of begging for it later.

However, the journey to changing the mind of America depended on the full demonization of the private industry, while giving the public glimpses of how wonderful the government could be when it came to controlling health care.

Except, there have been no glimpses of "wonderful," and instead, we have had wide-angle views of how atrocious government can truly be when bureaucrats grab control of some new entitlement program.

At the very root of the problem is the fact that federal intrusion into the health care, and health insurance, industries are unconstitutional.  There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the federal government that authority (despite what Justice Roberts says).  And the government was never given that authority for good reason.  Services, such as health care, do best when based on individual decisions.  We should still be on a patient-provider system.  The very existence of insurance, in the first place, has put our health industry at risk.  And government thinks they can fix it by becoming the payer that is the cause of the problem in the first place.

So, as the deadline for individual plans has reached us, and has illegally been extended, the number of Americans proclaiming that Obamacare sucks is increasing.  Premiums are on the rise.  Deductions are on the rise.  Plans are being cancelled, and Obamacare alternatives are increasing in cost.

People are confused.  Didn't Obama promise free health care?  Or at least affordable health care?  Isn't that the name of the law?  The "affordable" health care act?

Hell, the Obama administration can't even get the website to work properly.

According to polls, folks are realizing they don't want government help, after all.  In fact, nearly half of those with job-based or other private coverage say their policies will be changing next year — mostly for the worse. Nearly 4 in 5 (77 percent) blame the changes on the Affordable Care Act.

Sixty-nine percent say their premiums will be going up, while 59 percent say annual deductibles or co-payments are increasing.

Only 21 percent of those with private coverage said their plan is expanding to cover more types of medical care.

Fourteen percent said coverage for spouses is being restricted or eliminated, and 11 percent said their plan is being discontinued.

Employers trying to control their health insurance bills have been shifting costs to workers for years, but now those changes are blamed increasingly on "Obamacare" instead of the economy or insurance companies.  The number of employers doing such things, by the way, are increasing as Obamacare continues to roll out.

The White House had hoped that the October 1 launch of open enrollment season for the uninsured would become a teaching moment, a showcase of the president's philosophy that government can help smooth out the rough edges of life in the modern economy for working people.

Instead, the dysfunctional website became a parable for Republicans and others skeptical of government.

Then, the tsunami of cancellation notices hit millions who buy their policy directly from an insurer.

So much for one of Obama's central promises about being able to keep the coverage you have if you like it.

Disapproval of Obama's handling of health care topped 60 percent in the poll.

And if you think it is expensive now, wait until the jack-booted IRS and Health Care Law troops start tallying your bad habits.  If you don't act in your life the way they order you too, the costs will go up even more.  Controlling the costs of health care is just another way for the government to control what you do, make you exercise the way they demand you to, make you quit eating the foods they don't want you eating, and make you finally quit smoking like they've been demanding of you for most of your life.

But don't worry, Barack Obama will continue to unconstitutionally alter the law, and delay mandates and provisions, through executive orders, as long as necessary, or at least as long as it takes before you quit noticing it sucks, and just cry "uncle."

Oh, and like all other liberal policies, Obamacare is also playing a hand in the continued destruction of America's once great, and prosperous, economy.

Rove: GOP Will Capture Senate In 2014

by JASmius

Well, yeah, sure they will.  With a dozen Democrats seeking re-election in "red" states with ObamaCare hung around their necks like anchors, and Republicans only needing a six seat pickup to retake the majority, it would be difficult for even the GOP not to attain this objective.

But is it me, or is the Architect thinking a wee bit too small?:

Political strategist Karl Rove congratulated himself on Wednesday for getting 10 predictions right for this year — and he forecast that Republicans will keep control of the House of Representatives and end up with as many as 51 seats in the Senate in next year's congressional elections.
Rove was actually 10-4, though the four flubs were on apolitical predictions.  What I find a little....overcautious is forecasting only a six seat Republican gain in the Senate.  Sure, each contest has its own factors, and as the old saying goes, "Don't get greedy".  But why not get greedy?  It sure as hell worked for the Dems in '06 and '08, and look what it enabled them to do.  And it isn't as if a twelve-seat Senate pickup is unprecedented - the GOP did it in the 1980 Reagan landslide, after all, and look what that enabled the Gipper to do.  Why be, in this sense of the term, "conservative"?  Why not shoot the moon?

For 2014, President Barack Obama's "disapproval rating will end higher than this week's 53%" in the Gallup poll, Rove said in an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal. "Republicans will keep the House with a modest pickup of four to six seats.

Here we go again.  The envelope for 2014 House GOP gains is in the range of twenty five to thirty seats.  We well might not run up the score that much, but why not go for it?  With Obamunism undergoing an existential implosion, when will the Right get another opportunity like this?  And wouldn't it be a lot easier to get a lot more "big things" done with 250-260 Republicans in the House and 55-57 Republicans in the Senate and Democrat survivors being proportionally more shell-shocked and Red Barry being proportionally more discredited?

Ray Kroc, the man that took McDonalds global, had a saying (paraphrased): "If you see your rival drowning in a pond, grab a hose, get in a boat, row out to him, take the hose, shove it down his throat, and turn it on full blast."  Never, in other words, take your boot off your opponent's neck once you have it, and him, there.

And yet.....

"The GOP will most likely end up with 50 or 51 Senate seats (in the former case, keeping Vice President Joe Biden fully occupied for two years presiding over the chamber)," Rove added. "Control of the Senate may not be decided until December's Louisiana runoff.

One of my axioms which drives Tea Partiers nuts is "Politics is the art of the possible."  Thus the irony in an icon of the Republican "establishment" underestimating, to all appearances not having it even occur to him, what may be possible next November.

You can't win big if you don't think big first.

"Propelled by union contributions, Democrats will outspend Republicans overall in House and Senate races."

Exit questions: What will TPers do to counter that?  And will the Regime allow them to do so?

Banana Crisis Blamed on Fake Crisis of Climate Change

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The liberal left always has to find a way to make themselves feel good, to cover up their guilt, or to forward their agenda, or make you believe they are backing a good cause, or whatever.  They will do whatever it takes, be it jump on bandwagons without knowing the facts, or creating a crisis and then making up the particulars as they go along.  They will pull out all of the stops to get you to believe it, too.  Everything, to these people, is political.  Everything is about their agenda.  They use the media, movies, children's programs, the education system, commercials, political correctness, politicians, threats, and guilt-trips.

The Leftists are pretty good at it, too.  They can get you to believe just about anything.  It's sort of like the old saying, "If you say something long enough, it becomes the truth."  I even hear people who consider themselves to be conservatives spewing the bullcrap.  Even they, those that claim to oppose the Left, fall for the propaganda when it is applied just right.

A couple days ago I broke bread with a good friend of mine from my world of trucking.  His political philosophies lie somewhere between Tea Party Conservatism, and the conspiracy-laden land of folks like Jesse Ventura and Alex Jones.  Therefore, as a constitutionalist, I find that often we agree, and often we disagree, but neither of us has any love for the hard left loonies that currently guide the agenda of the Democrat Party.

It was Taco Tuesday.  Ninety-nine cents for delicious beef and chicken mini-tacos.  He ordered eight tacos, and ate every last one of them.  I had a couple, and a bowl of albondigas soup.  The bowl of Mexican meatballs, and succulent vegetables, was steaming before me.  I inhaled a nice long moment, allowing the flavors to gather in my lungs, and let my stomach know that if the soup was as good as it smelled, we were in for one damn good meal.  Reaching for the salt with my left hand, I stirred the soup with my right.  After shaking a half-dozen snowfalls of salt on my soup, I switched the spoon over to my left hand, scooped, and wrapped myself in the cilantro accented goodness.

"What in the hell did you do that for?  You ruined it," chided my buddy.

"Excuse me?"

"The salt," he said.  "It's going to kill you."

"No it's not.  Salt is not bad for you.  It is a myth.  You believe a load of crap."

"Let me explain something to you.  There is good salt, and there is bad salt."

"Nope," I replied.  "There is good salt, and there is good salt.  Of course, as with anything, moderation is your best bet, but salt is not bad for you.  Neither is eggs.  Neither is DDT."

I explained to him that scientists have stumbled upon their errors a number of times.  Recently, it was salt.  Before that, eggs.  Yes, even the yolks are fine.  DDT was the big one.  Not bad for you, or at least not as bad as they said, yet because of some bleeding-heart liberal getting it banned, millions have died from malaria because the mosquitoes the DDT was killing are now swarming in massive numbers.  Of course, now, the liberals are in a fight for their lives against malaria in Africa.

Hey, I have an idea!  Start spraying DDT again!

They would never do that, though.  They don't admit when they are wrong.

"Just because it says what you are saying in the newspapers, it doesn't mean it is true."

I grinned, and said, "Yet you believed it when they told you what you think is true."

That is what happens.  The liberal-left creates a crisis, then they do all they can through government to force everyone to abide by that crisis, or they at least use doom and gloom to convince everyone to abide by the crisis, and then when it is proven wrong, they conveniently forget it was them that claimed such, and then attack the new crisis, which is often caused by the fake crisis they caused before.  Either that, or they will blame republicans for it (sort of like the housing crash they caused with programs like the Community Reinvestment Act - a study by The National Bureau of Economic Research even says so).

Did I lose you there?

Sometimes, the Leftists are even willing to blame a fake crisis as the cause of a real crisis.

Bananas, for example, according to the experts, are in real trouble.  The banana crops of the world are under attack by plagues of disease, bugs, and fungus infections.  Costa Rica, the largest producer, has declared a State of Emergency over the state of its crop.

The real blame?  Global Warming, of course.  The fake myth that human activity has caused the planet to warm, according to these people, is to be blamed.  Oh, wait, it's called Climate Change, now, because it stopped warming, and they can't bring themselves to admit it was a fake crisis created for the sole reason of forwarding the international liberal agenda, so they just changed the name from Global Warming, to Climate Change.

The leftists are even doubling down.  Not only is the myth of "Climate Change" the likely cause for our banana problems, but Costa Rica's director of the agriculture ministry’s State Phytosanitary Services says, "I can tell you with near certainty that climate change is behind these pests."

Near certainty!

How can something that does not exist be at fault for a problem that may be the result of something else - and likely caused by some environmental ban by the leftists, like their ban on DDT, or something?

Liberal Left Up In Arms Over Lion Killer Photo. . . Which is a Fake

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The liberal left is real good at putting out false information, and even after it is proven to be a load of crap, convincing enough people that is was true so that they can use it as yet another nail in the coffin against their opposition.

A great example of the liberal left's tactics in this regard occurred in 1998 when a report was released regarding a DNA inquiry into whether Thomas Jefferson fathered any children through one of his slave girls.  The rumor was two-centuries old, and the liberal left saw the potential of a confirmation as the perfect blow against conservatives, and the Right's "worship" of the Founding Fathers.  According to the results, the DNA testing conclusively proved that Jefferson had indeed fathered a child by his slave girl.  News outlets jumped all over it, and somehow it negated the arguments against President Bill Clinton's sexual misbehavior.

Eight weeks later the story was retracted quietly, without fanfare.  The scientific researcher that had conducted the test announced he had not actually proven Jefferson fathered any children with his slave girl.  The initial report was totally discredited.  It was too late, however.  As the retraction was ignored, or stuffed on back pages of publications where it wouldn't be noticed, the damage had already been done.  Enough people had heard the news that the slave-owning white man that was involved in the founding of this nation was making babies with his young teenage slave girl.  The message was out there, and that was all that mattered.  To this day, even conservatives argue with me over the issue, they themselves convinced that though they wish to see the founders in a certain light, they can't exonerate Thomas Jefferson for his horrible deed. . . that actually never happened.

Sarah Palin is another great example of the liberal left tactic of "bait, switch, and hide the truth."  To this day I have a co-worker that swears to me that Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house.  Tina Fey actually said that, while doing an impression of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live.  The Leftists jumped all over it, proclaimed the statement made by Palin (which was actually made by Fey) was proof of how stupid McCain's running mate was, and they used it to destroy her.  The idiotic accusation that Sarah Palin is dumb as a stump, even though she is one of the most brilliant conservatives out there, remains attached to her to this day.

A new example has emerged, now, in an effort to continue to destroy the integrity of our armed forces.  The liberal left hates the military, or at least they will until the day they can change the armed forces into an ally that they can use against the American People (hence the reason they are working so hard to disarm us with gun control laws).  They are always looking for ways to discredit the United States Military.  Abu Ghraib was a gift, but they haven't had much of the same luck of late, so now the liberal left has resorted to creating a scenario out of thin air, with poor photoshop skills, and a vivid imagination that targets the big hearts of liberals.  The Leftists don't care whether or not you, the informed readers of Political Pistachio, believe them, just as long as the weak-minded uninformed voters, and die-hard liberal left sheep who are willing to accept anything and everything the liberal left dishes out, believes them.

Kind of reminds you of Ben Kenobi in the landspeeder on Tatooine, doesn't it?

"These aren't the droids you're looking for."

View image on TwitterThe accusation?  According to Former Afghan Ambassador Jawad (The near-Star Wars name is funny considering the example I just used, right?), American soldiers have killed the last lion in the Kunar province in Afghanistan.  Except, the photo is a fake.  The reality, and absurdity, of the whole thing has not been noticed by the leftists, and I am expecting MSNBC to be all over this.  The image, however, shows evidence of ground and cloud replication (upper left of photograph is the most obvious evidence of that), and the image of the dead lion itself has turned out to be one of a sleeping lion (go back to the image at the beginning of this piece for the pic of the sleeping lion), with a little red splashed on the forehead by some kind of photoshop program to make it look like the crack shots of our U.S. Army got the perfect head-shot during the hunt.

The sad part about all of this is there will be a high number of zombies out there, despite the evidence, claiming that the killing of the last lion really happened, and it is all the Republican Party's fault.

It is amazing how easy it is to fool sheep with a lion, isn't it?

US Army To Soldiers: Don't Say "Christmas"

by JASmius

Remember George Carlin's "Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television"?

Now the Obarmy has one.  And I may be wrong about this, but I don't think there's very much overlap between the two lists:

A military diversity training officer instructed a group of U.S. soldiers at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, not to use the word "Christmas," Fox News columnist Todd Starnes reported Tuesday.

I don't know if this MDTO told them this, er, orally, or if she just passed around a list with "Christmas" on it.  Which may have prompted one or more of the soldiers present to pipe up with "Excuse me, m'am, but you left out 'merry,'" probably getting that poor sad sack cashiered for both insubordination and referring to her as "m'am".  The Reuters story doesn't go into any of these details, showing how little they understand about journalism.

Starnes says he was contacted by an unidentified soldier at the camp about an incident two weeks ago. The soldier said members of the 158th Infantry Brigade were holding a meeting to organize an annual Christmas football tournament when an official with the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute told them they were to use the term "holiday tournament" instead.

"Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute"?  There actually is one of these?  Let me guess: it's name used to be "Army War College," right?  And they really, truly, actually, no-foolin' have nothing better to do, I mean, it really, truly, actually, seriously is their anointed mission in life to spy on soldiers in their off-duty hours and swoop in on Christmas utterance busts?  This sounds like a Family Guy bit.  Like, every guy in that room should have busted out in Bing Crosby's croon with "Have your self, a merry little CHRISTMAS....," or thrown on turbans and ZZ Top beards and started chanting, "Jehovahu CHRISTMAS!"  I think Seth McFarland might actually be sellable on this one.

"Almost the entire room blew up," the soldier said. "Everybody was frustrated. The equal-opportunity rep told our commander that not everyone celebrates Christmas and we couldn't say Christmas celebration. It had to be holiday celebration."

Well, not everyone celebrates "scissoring" and "brown trout fishing," but it sure seems like everyone has to celebrate them anyway.

I wonder if "almost the entire room blew up" equivalentized this:

They're organizing their [BLEEP]ing annual unit Christmas football tournament, and now their use of the C-word has caused an international incident?  A grave evisceration of military protocol?  They're required to worship a big-eared golden clay onesied calf but making reference to a holiday that Americans have been celebrating since the birth of the Old Republic is a court martial offense?  Well, sorry, Miss Grundy, but this is Christmas, it's called Christmas, and we like Christmas and calling it Christmas, and you know what else?  YOU like Christmas, too.  And you're going to call it Christmas  Yes, you are.  In fact, by the time we're finished with you, you're gonna be singing the Doxology out your A&E hole.  Do we make ourselves clear?!?

BTW, the other six new dirty words are Jesus, Christ, God, Jehovah, Messiah, and White.

Exit quote from Michael Berry, Liberty Institute attorney:

"They're treating Christmas like it's pornography. As a matter of fact, the Army actually treats pornography better than it does Christmas," Berry said.

"Psssst - hey kid.  Come over here.  Yeah, you.  Wanna see a Bible?  Yeah, a Bible.  I've got the New American Standard Version.  Yeah, the one with the "Between The Testaments" insert.  It's so hot...."

America's Mama Grizz

by JASmius

....is a beautiful wife and mother, what feminists used to call a "strong" woman, a courageous American patriot, and a famous celebrity - but she's not a politician anymore, and Wild Bill has some awfully irritating fanboy praise to gush in her direction:

How did Sarah Palin "defeat" the Obamedia?  Their objective was to destroy her political viability for national office; they succeeded.  Devastatingly.  By the time they were finished with her in 2008, 'cuda had been completely and utterly "Quayle-ized," was and remains radioactive, and will never be able to get elected dogcatcher outside her native Alaska, and maybe not even there.  So isn't the opposite the case?  Didn't the Obamedia, in fact, squash Sarah Palin like an overripe grape?

It is no insult or dishonor to the ex-Alaska governor to acknowledge this fact.  Indeed, she appears to have come to terms with it, as evinced by her apparent disinclination to challenge Mark Begich for his Senate seat.  So why can't her extremely parochial admirers accept it as well?

As for banging on church doors looking for "a million Sarah Palins," doesn't that implicitly denigrate her?  I thought she was one of a kind.  Either way, if they are out there, I think the IRS is going to get to 'em first.

Thousands Gather For Mass In Bethlehem

by JASmius

.....putting their lives in mortal danger in the process.

There's an old saying: a chicken is involved with breakfast, but the pig is committed to it.  There's certainly no doubting these worshippers' commitment:

A packed house at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem Tuesday night as Archbishop Fouad Twal led the midnight mass near the site of Jesus' birth.

Makes one wonder if this will be the last such mass celebrated in the LORD's hometown until He Himself presides over the next one.  But never forget that He's the one Who'll determine that schedule.

Hard Starboard Radio: Persecution At Christmas Time

We're living in the Age of Intolerence - for the sake of "tolerance," of course; where blacklists abound, the corpses of the Brethren hit the ground, walking in a "holiday" wasteland; and solace comes from gallows humor, the support of friends, and the One, True LORD and God Whose intervention in history for all our sakes we celebrate tomorrow.

Plus an ObamaCare update.  C'mon, you didn't think you were escaping without at least one lump of coal, didja?

Time to go on a manger hunt at 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific.  And don't forget the gold, frankincense, and myrrh coupons.

Obamacare Deadline Extended

The extension was not because Obama is trying to be giving, but because it is embarrassing how few people have signed up, so far.  How can the enforcers go after almost all of America?

The boom will really drop when the employer mandate goes into effect.

All for an unconstitutional powergrab that forces people to purchase a service, or face punishment from the IRS.

More people have come to Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson's aid, then have signed up for Obamacare.

Nothing Says Christmas Like The NRA

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As I pulled up early to my jobsite this morning, a fellow driver walked up to me with his Santa Hat on, and said to me, "Merry Christmas."

He then shook his head.  "Where's your Christmas spirit?"

"What do you mean?" I replied.

"You aren't wearing Christmas colors."

"Sure, I am."

I pulled off my blue camo jacket, and gray camo sweatshirt to reveal my green camo shirt.  "Green is a Christmas color.  Besides, I have my Christmas hat on, too."

"You do?"

"Yep," I said, pointing at my gray NRA digital camo ballcap.  "Nothing says Christmas like the right to keep and bear arms.  I have a dozen guns, and everybody knows it.  My home is safe for Christmas."

Suddenly, my friend's Santa hat was looking a little droopy.

Obama Sends Aide To Sign Him Up On D.C. Exchange

by JASmius

....allegedly:

In a symbolic step, President Barack Obama has signed up for health insurance through the new exchanges created by his health care overhaul.

Oooooor did he?

The White House says Obama signed up through the Washington, D.C., marketplace over the weekend. Because he signed up in private, without reporters present, it was unclear whether Obama encountered any of the website glitches that millions of other Americans have experienced.

Obama, through a staff member, reportedly elected a lower-cost bronze plan offered through an exchange in the District of Columbia. However, technically, the commander-in-chief already has insurance through the military.

So here we are again asking the same question: Are they even aware that because of their serial, pathetically transparent mendacities about everything to do with and even tangentially related to ObamaCare since....well, July of 2009 when all of this nastiness started, We, The Listeners, have absolutely and utterly no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt on an assertion to which they did not give anybody public access to verify?  And that by claiming that Obama signed up when it was actually a flunkie that did so on his behalf, the claim is false on the surface even if the enrollment attempt was successful?  And how about this statement being released on Christmas eve, when the number of Americans paying attention to it is near or at its nadir?

Here's the better question: Why did the White House bother with this when he already has coverage through the military?  If the idea is to, you know, grab public attention to, you know, actually set an example, why not do something bold like, I don't know, cancel that military coverage and rely solely on an ObamaCare plan?  And pay for it out of his own pocket versus the taxpayer dime?  I mean, sheesh, he is worth over twelve million dollars now, so it's not like he couldn't afford it.

I know leadership doesn't become The One, but wouldn't this be leading in the direction he actually wants Americans to follow?  And what's it say about what he really thinks of the Unaffordable Care-Less Act that he's less enthusiastic about it than Bill Clinton was about signing the Defense of Marriage Act in the middle of the night in a men's room on Air Force One?

Or has O been watching his own ObamaCare ads?

Democrats Place Illegal Aliens Above Military Veterans

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The anti-American Democrat Party is all about buying votes, and destroying the American System so they can replace it with a foreign socialist system.  The reality of my statement is especially true when it comes to what has been going on in the Senate, where Senate Republicans were unable to stop military pension cuts when Senate Democrats blocked a vote on an amendment to prevent the cuts by closing a welfare loophole for illegal immigrants.

The two-year budget deal brokered by Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, would cut military pensions by $6 billion over ten years, leaving some Senate Republicans scrambling to stop the cuts.

“Removing this unbalanced treatment of our military retirees ought to be one of the key actions we should take before this legislation moves forward. In fact, greater savings than this can be achieved by passing a legislative fix recommended by the Inspector General of the U.S. Treasury that would stop the IRS from improperly providing tax credits to illegal aliens,” Alabama Republican Jeff Sessions said, when announcing his co-sponsorship of Mississippi Republican Sen. Roger Wicker’s amendment to restore the military retirement benefits.

Senate Dems: Illegal Immigrant Welfare over Veteran Benefits - The Daily Caller

Hard Starboard Radio: Tim "Loki" Kerlin, R.I.P.

I didn't know Loki as well as everybody else did - and there was nobody who didn't know Loki - but I met him online once my friend Douglas V. Gibbs and I started American Daily Review four and a half years ago.  That led to guest shots on Political Pistachio Radio Revolution (where the "afterglow" segment was unforgettable) and eventually the chance to guest-co-host PPRR with none other than Loki.  I can say without a shadow of a doubt that that was among the most fun and enjoyable two hours I've ever spent on BTR and terrestrial radio.

Thanks to the miracle of podcasting, you can re-live that august occasion for yourselves at 6PM Eastern/3PM Pacific.  As Jean-Luc Picard said to Ambassador Sarek, I definitely got the better end of that bargain.

Hell Hath No Fury.....

by JASmius

I have two stories in front of me, and no matter how long I compare them, I just can't decide which is the more interesting.  So I'll let you all decide for yourselves.

The first is entirely expected, though no less heartening:

A defiant Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson told a Bible study class in Louisiana Sunday that he isn't backing down from his anti-gay stance, saying his controversial GQ Magazine comments came from the Bible and he's not sorry he said them.
Uh, it's not an "anti-gay" stance.  Mr. Robertson did not utter one, single, solitary criticism or condemnation of homosexuals.  Rather, he was asked by the GQ interviewer - in typical media "gotcha" fashion - what his "views" were on homosexuality, and he answered from Scripture: that homosexuality is a sin, just as is fornication, lying, stealing, cheating, murdering, cursing, and so on.  No sin is greater or lesser than any other.  For it is written, "[F]or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  From which is deduced that one type of bodily orifice was clearly designed to offer ingress, and the other egress.

I guess it should have been expected that the media would follow the Robertsons to church.  I wonder if A&E realizes how much publicity they're gaining for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He really does work in strange and mysterious ways.

"I will not give or back off from my path, because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions," Robertson, wearing his trademark camouflage headband, told the class at White's Ferry Road Church in West Monroe, Louisiana, reports the Daily Mail....

Robertson told the Bible class that he was "just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago. All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn't know it. Whether I said it or they read it, what's the difference? The sins are the same. Humans haven't changed."

Oh, they knew it, Phil, they knew it.  For it is also written, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

In addition, Robertson denied that he is "a hater."

"I love all men and women," he said. "I am a lover of humanity, not a hater."

He also said that "sexual sins are numerous and many" and admitted he has "a few" himself.

See Romans 3:23 above.

If any bunch are "haters," it's the folks at A&E.  That is why they "just don't know," because their impenetrable self-righteousness and moral supremacism render them blind to their own sin and divine accountability.

Which brings us to story #2:

A new pro-Obamacare advertisement, featuring shirtless men dancing to a parody song set to the tune of "Let it Snow," is full of offensive, gay stereotypes, complains the Log Cabin Republicans, a gay rights conservative group.

The ad was created by Out2Enroll, an organization formed to help homosexuals find health insurance coverage that works for their needs. But according to Mediaite, Log Cabin Republicans complain that it carries a message similar to "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson's homophobic comments that have drawn so much criticism from the left.

"This ad is also an example of the left promoting harmful stereotypes that gay men are nothing more than sex-crazed lechers," the Log Cabin Republicans said in an online statement. "If anyone on the right made such a comparison, liberals would be apoplectic. At a time when left-wing propagandists are decrying Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson for equating homosexuality with promiscuity and deviance, Out2Enroll and others should take a look in the mirror and ask if the truth is that they are the ones responsible for promoting such harmful stereotypes."

Leaving aside that the Log Cabiners are themselves promoting a "harmful stereotype" - and, you know, "Log" - this presents the White House with a fascinating PR conundrum, as they're being, in effect, accused of not just homophobia, but religiously-derived homophobia.  The only way this could have been more insulting to The One is if they'd called him a "practicing Christian".

But wait - there's more!  Like the Regime's continuing marketing obtuseness in what they think will appeal to the demographics they're attempting to target.  First "Pajama Androgyne" was deployed to appeal to young "adults," and now the New Village People are rolled out to persuade homosexuals.  I mean, you would expect Obamunists to not bother to even try to understand their enemies, but these are ostensibly among their core constituencies.  Next thing you know they'll be advertising O-Care to African-Americans by casting Joe Biden as Step 'n Fetchit and having him do his Rochester impersonation.

And all in service to a "product" that nearly two-thirds of the country doesn't want and hates with a fiery passion.

But I guess this isn't a PR problem for Dr. Chicago after all, since Log Cabiners are not "real" homosexuals by dint of their being Republicans, so they pretty much have no shot at regaining health insurance.

I bet Phil Robertson would lend them a hand.

GOP's Stockholm Syndrome

By Douglas V. Gibbs

People are confused. Why aren't the Republicans fighting back?  Are they so afraid of being called racists that they are unwilling to criticize Obama, and instead go after their liberators, like Ted Cruz?  The budget deal, for example, accomplishes nothing, and raises spending.  The GOP had no reason to give in.  Yet, they did.

Perhaps, after being tortured continuously by their Democrat captors, and the hard left media, they suffer from Stockholm Syndrome.

The Liberal Left plays mind games, and the Republican Establishment has fallen for them.  It is a psychological game, and as with the Stockholm Syndrome, the GOP has decided to reject their liberators from the TEA Party, and are defending the Democrats.  They seem to mistake the lack of the final crushing blow by the leftists as being some kind of act of kindness.  It is as if the republicans feel privileged to be able to occupy Washington with the Democrats.

The Democrats, and the media, harass, threaten, abuse and intimidate the GOP.  They use tactics like character assassination, and the race card, to get what they want.  They hammer on the republicans constantly, and the GOP has become convinced that being critical back will hurt them in elections, and might upset the overlords of the leftist ideology.

The GOP seems to believe that if they act like they believe in some of the same things as the Democrats, the liberals will cease to be a threat.  The problem is, it is the aim of liberalism to eliminate all opposition.  To silence The Right.

Only an informed electorate can turn this around, because obviously the republicans have cashed in their common sense for bondage, and failure.
