"Assisted Infanticide"

by JASmius

Hey, by today's twisted, Molechean standards, what else could Dynel Catrece Lane's grisly act be called?:

After an examination of the seven-month-old unborn baby who was cut out of a Colorado woman’s womb this week, county officials say they will not charge the woman who cut the baby out of her mother’s womb with murder for killing the baby. That’s because the state lacks an unborn victims law to hold criminals accountable when they kill or injure unborn children in such criminal attacks.

Dynel Catrece Lane (pictured above) was arrested after she attacked a pregnant woman and cut her seven-month-old unborn baby from her womb. In this unbelievable act of violence, the baby died but the victim, Michelle Wilkins, is expected to survive. A report shows the baby breathed a heavy last gasp before she died.

According to the arrest report, Lane admitted to a detective that she cut open Wilkins abdomen to get the baby — who reportedly took a last breath outside the womb before dying, that 911 call shows.

Michelle Wilkins (below), the pregnant Colorado woman who was attacked by Lane, who claimed to be selling baby clothes and Craigslist and who cut her seven-month-old unborn baby out of her stomach at her home, was in critical but stable condition at a local hospital and eventually released this week. [emphasis added]

As Bruce Banner said to his fellow Avengers when he arrived at the Battle of New York, "So, this all seems....horrible."  Really, it comes off as something out of a Wes Craven horror flick.  And yet the most that Miss Lane is likely to face is a minor assault charge, and all because (human) children do not "officially" exist until after they are born.  So as far as Colorado law is concerned, Mrs. Wilkens might just as well have had a nose mole that Miss Lane couldn't stand to look at and just had to remove.  With, you know, a switchblade.

For Miss Lane, it was like picking fruit off of somebody else's tree.  For Mrs. Wilkens, it's a nightmare that will haunt her for the rest of her life, most especially because it will never be....avenged.

But, "women's rights" and all that.  Right?

Why do I have a sudden urge heave a heavy last gasp?

Another honky who "had it coming" because, slavery:

An investigation is underway after cell phone video showed a man being beaten while riding the MetroLink Monday night.

According to the 43-year-old victim, a man in his early twenties asked to use his cell phone. When the victim declined to let the suspect use his cell phone, the suspect sat next to him and asked what he thought about the “Mike Brown situation.” When the victim responded that he had not thought much about it, the suspect began punching him in the face, according to the police report.

Video surveillance of the incident showed two other men participated in the assault, police said.

When the MetroLink stopped at the Forest Park station, a security officer boarded the train and saw the assault taking place. The suspects left the MetroLink and the security guard notified police of the incident.

Well, the black "youth" did have at least one hand "up".  Sort of.  That it was balled into a fist and repeatedly slamming into the white victim's face is completely irrelevant.

Exit question: What do you think the black "youth" would have done if the white victim had said that he supported the grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson?  The latter might just have saved the St. Louis PD a murder investigation.

Operation Jade Helm & The Chechen Connection

Say, could that little red strip at the bottom of California not be better named, "The Gibbs Pocket"?  Just thinking out loud....

You know, I am not a conspiracist by both rule and temperment.  I've never bought into the whole "Bildeburger/Council On Foreign Relations/Illuminati" spiel, not least reason of which is because it is flagrantly anti-Semitic, but primarily because it offends my highly developed sense of rationality and Vulcan logic.  To wit: conspiracies are not only the least efficient means of accomplishing anything - if keeping the whole thing secret is such an imperative, but you have to enlist the assistance and cooperation of dozens or hundreds or thousands of individuals, all with mouths and brains and Internet access - but in the times in which we live now, they're not even necessary, because the hoi palloi are so corrupted and ignorant that everything the would-be conspiracist needs done can be carried out in full public view and any onlookers will follow their brainwashed programming and disbelieve their lying eyes.

Which segues right into this "massive multi-State illegal domestic military 'training' drill":

Seven Southwestern states will soon be infiltrated by 1,200 military special ops personnel as part of a controversial domestic military training in which some of the elite soldiers will operate undetected among civilians.

Operation Jade Helm begins in July and will last for eight weeks. Soldiers will operate in and around towns in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado where some of them wil drop from planes while carrying weapons loaded with blanks in what military officials have dubbed "Realistic Military Training".

Domestically.  Here at home.  Among their fellow American citizens.  As if we were the enemy.  Which, as far as the Obama Regime is concerned, we are.

Posse Comitatus Act, anyone?  Or is this another of those obscure liberty-preserving statutes that are only applicable to Republicans and not Democrats?

Amazingly, the reporting on this massive multi-State illegal domestic military "training" drill is not, for once, limited to the overseas media:

Operation Jade Helm will bring a coalition of forces, including the Green Berets, SEALS, and special operations commands from the Air Force and Marines to Texas for two months of “realistic military training” in a simulated [?] “hostile” territory between July and September this summer.

Army Special Operation Command spokesman Mark Lastoria said soldiers would practice “emerging concepts in special operations warfare” in Texas.

Does anybody believe the choice of venue is an accident?

“Training exercise Jade Helm is going to assist our Special Operations Soldiers in refining the skills needed against an ever changing foreign threat,” he said.

Among the planned exercises, soldiers will try to operate undetected amongst civilian populations....

Or "infiltrate," in plain, non-Romulan English.

....in some towns and cities where residents will be advised to report any suspicious activity they notice....

IOW, flush out the "subversives" for future reference.

....as a means of testing the military’s effectiveness, said county law enforcement officials who had been briefed by the Army.

IOW, local law enforcement is in on the plot.

“They’re going to set up cells [!!!] of people and test how well they’re able to move around without getting too noticed in the community,” said Roy Boyd, chief deputy with the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office. “They’re testing their abilities to basically blend in with the local environment and not stand out and blow their cover.”

Oh, yeah, there's nothing at all suspicious about that, now is there?

Here's a question to contemplate: How does it enhance special ops training in foreign lands to  attempt to infiltrate one's own country?  Shouldn't the latter be vastly easier than the former?  Don't they already know the language, the pop culture, the local "slang", etc.?  Hell's teeth, I myself would stand an at least decent chance of "infiltrating" the American southwest, it seems to me.  The only way in which Rangers and SEALs and Delta Force guys could blow their "cover" is if they caused the locals to wonder what in the world they're doing...well, "infiltrating" their own country.

Or, in other words, the Obama Regime is taking a "dry run" at near-future martial law operations right out in plain sight.

I know, it sounds conspiracist.  But has "training" like Operation Jade Helm ever been undertaken before?  If it has, feel free to cite such past instances in the comments, but I'm sure as hell not aware of any.

And that brings us to Vladimir Putin's version of the Zimmerman telegram:

The Chechen parliament has threatened to send weapons to Mexico in retaliation to the U.S. Congress calling for defensive lethal aid to be sent to Ukraine.

On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favour of sending arms - the resolution was passed 348 to 48.

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) branded it “absolutely necessary” that [Barack] Obama provide lethal and nonlethal military assistance to Ukraine, in light of the attacks by Russian-backed rebels on civilians in Mariupol in January.

In response, Chechnya's parliamentary speaker Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov said that the U.S. has “no right” to advise Russia on how to behave with its neighbours.

He warned that the supply of arms to Ukraine will be perceived by Chechnya, a southern Russian republic, as a signal to deliver new weapons to Mexico to “resume debate on the legal status of the territories annexed by the U.S.”

Abdurakhmanov is referring to the states of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, which Mexico surrendered to the U.S. in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848, a peace deal which concluded the Mexican-American conflict....

Adurakhmanov said: “We reserve the right to conduct conferences in Russia, Mexico and the U.S. to raise the question of breaking away the above mentioned states from the U.S. and supplying weapons to resistance fighters there.” [emphases added]

Or "tit for tat," as Obamunists would call it.

Now, of course, congressional Republican can "resolutionize" all the live-long day, and it won't accomplish jack, as Barack Obama will never, EVER provide military aid to Ukraine - he believes the wrong side won the Cold War and Putin is entitled to take back the old Evil Empire, remember?  But does anybody out there believe that only U.S. military aid to Ukraine will trigger Russian military aid to, say, the Mexican narco-terror networks?  Or that this would constitute a crisis that Barack Obama wouldn't eagerly exploit to bring about Mr. Abdurakhmanov's publicly stated objective?  Does Fast & Furious ring any bells?

And just think, my friends: It's all taking place in full public view.  And the public at large will never notice it.

Call it a "twenty-first century conspiracy".

The Germanwings Flight 9525 Smoking Gun?

by JASmius

This would certainly shed light on Tuesday's deliberate crash of the Airbus jetliner in the Alps, slaying all one hundred fifty passengers and crew:

All evidence indicates that the copilot of [the] Airbus machine in his six-months break during his training as a pilot in Germanwings, converted to Islam and subsequently either by the order of “radical” (i.e. devout) Muslims, or received the order from the book of terror, the Qu'ran, on his own accord decided to carry out this mass murder. As a radical mosque in Bremen is in the center of the investigation, in which the convert was staying often, it can be assumed that he – as Mohammed Atta, in the attack against New York – received his instructions directly from the immediate vicinity of the mosque.

Converts are the most important weapon of Islam because their resume do not suggest that they often are particularly violent Muslims. Thus Germany now has its own 9/11, but in a reduced form. And so it is clear that Islam is a terrorist organization that should, in accordance with §129a of the Criminal Code, be prohibited and its followers investigated. But nothing will happen. One can bet that the apologists (media, politicos, “Islamic Scholars”) will agree to assign this an act of a “mentally unstable” man, and you can bet that now, once again, the mantra of how supposedly "peaceful" Islam is will continue. And worse still, the attacks by the Left against those who have always warned against Islam, will be angrier and merciless. [emphases added]

Interesting, no?  Which may help explain why we haven't seen this anywhere in the establishment media, yes?

Oh, the "mental instability" angle has been played up, to be sure.  But there is this little detail:

[S]ources familiar with the investigation sa[id] that Lubitz suffered from a “personal life crisis,” following a recent breakup with a girlfriend.

German reporters found Lubitz’s former classmates, who said he took a six-month break from training due to “burnout-syndrome” or “depression,” Der Spiegel’s Matthias Gebauer wrote on Twitter. [emphasis added]

Episodes of "burnout syndrome" and "depression" following watershed life events like the loss of a loved one through either death or estrangement are fertile ground for dramatic life turns and decisions, are they not?  If Mr. Lubitz was sufficiently distraught over his girlfriend leaving him, he might, given that he was already a pilot, have become a prime jihadist recruitment target.

And then there's this (since pulled) Facebook page:

Kinda hard to explain this one away.

But I've no doubt the First Unarmored Dhimmi Brigade will find a way.

Dishonoring Those Who Serve

by JASmius

But first, a brief word about more educratic disloyalty:

A 7-year-old’s high and tight haircut....

....meant to honor his soldier-stepbrother earned him the threat of suspension from an elementary school named for a Medal of Honor recipient,….

….His mother, Amy Stinnett, said he’d requested the high and tight to be more like Specialist Justin Bloodworth, his active-duty stepbrother.

Adam was written up by the principal, who thought the haircut was against school policy banning “mohawk haircuts or other extreme cuts.” [emphasis added]

Well, it is kind of a mohawk, I suppose.  Perhaps an "all-over" crewcut would have been sufficient.

I can't help wondering, though, if Mr. Stinnett might not have been written up if he'd been African-American and he'd gotten the new 'do in solidarity with "#HandsUpDon'tShoot/BlackLivesMatter".  My guess is probably not.

Amy Stinnett disagreed. Adam went back Tuesday with the same haircut.

Ooh, THAT lady has admirable ovaries.

After his mother received an email from the principal and stopped by for a face-to-face [confrontation], it was made clear that Adam’s hairstyle would have to change before he returned to school.

“They crushed my son’s dreams,” she said of the school officials. “They made him feel upset. They broke his heart. He didn't deserve that.”

Ah, but he did, Mrs. Stinnett, because he was "glorifying war," or something.  And "violence freaks" must not be celebrated.  Once your son grows his hair out to hippie length and sticks flowers in it and starts regularly smoking weed and discloses his stepbrother's personal information to ISIS, all will be forgiven.

The school district has taken down its Facebook page after a deluge of comments, said Bobby Cox, the district’s director of schools. He said the messages were “not necessarily threatening” but added to an incident that had caused the district “great stress.”

In other words, not "threatening" in the least but blasting the "district" for its gratuitously despicable conduct.

[…] Warren County Board of Education, which put out a news release Wednesday in response to the Southern Standard article saying, in part, that “[n]either Bobby Ray Memorial Elementary, nor any school in Warren County School District, prohibits military haircuts.”

Which, I'm guessing, they define as "grows his hair out to hippie length and sticks flowers in it".  That is today's Obarmy, after all.

No, the young Mr. Stinnett isn't supposed, and will not be allowed, to follow in Specialist Bloodworth's (Is that an awesome surname or what?) footsteps, but those of a certain "sergeant" we know and loathe:

Former Taliban....soldier "Sergeant" Bowe Bergdahl told military investigators that he left his base in June 2009 to report on misconduct in his unit and always intended to come right back.

Like, I'm guessing, his buddies actually fighting the Taliban.

That will also be his defense if and when he faces a court martial for desertion, according to his lawyer.…

In other words, this trial will be waged in the courtroom of public opinion, and the rigged verdict will be forced on the military tribunal

On Wednesday, Fidell....

I'm sorry, Bergdahl's shyster is surnamed "Fidel with an l"?  You really can't make this stuff up.

....released a statement by Bergdahl about the conditions of his imprisonment, as well as a legal memo Fidell wrote this month about Dahl’s report. “While hedging its bets, the report basically concludes that SGT Bergdahl did not intend to remain away from the Army permanently....

No, I imagine he pictured himself coming back at the head of a conquering Taliban horde to wreak vengeance and jihad on his former "infidel" comrades.

....as classic ‘long’ desertion requires,” the memo says. “It also concludes that his specific intent was to bring what he thought were disturbing circumstances to the attention of the nearest general officer.”

Because noncoms always have first dibs on flag officers' time.

But then he didn't specify which side's "general officers" to which he was referring, did he?

Fidell also questions in his memo “whether SGT Bergdahl can receive a fair trial” due to the “lynch mob atmosphere” since his May 31st release.

Which the perveyor of any rigged, outcome-based verdict would claim of unexculpted facts and evidence that would conflict with that verdict.

There have been claims that U.S. soldiers died in the search for Bergdahl, although Fidell argues in the memo that no evidence exists to support such claims.

Oh, yeah, no evidence whatsoever....

.....except the above.  Which I'm guessing won't be admitted into evidence.  At White House insistence, of course.

Incidentally, according to Afghan witnesses at the time, "Sergeant" Bergdahl was highly unlikely to find any U.S. "general officers" where he was reconnoitering:

The Washington Post has reached Afghan villagers who spotted Bergdahl shortly after he slipped away from his base. To them, it’s clear something was wrong with the American. And he seemed to be deliberately heading for Taliban strongholds, they say.

Locals remember Bergdahl walking through the village in a haze. They later told Afghan investigators that they had warned the American that he was heading into a dangerous area.

“They tried to tell him not to go there, that it is dangerous. But he kept going over the mountain. The villagers tried to give him water and bread, but he didn't take it,” said Ibrahim Manikhel, the district’s intelligence chief.

“We think he probably was high after smoking hashish,” Manikhel said. “Why would an American want to find the Taliban?”

Why, indeed.  But after all, that is today's Obarmy.

Only thing missing was the long, greasy hair and the flowers.

A Fraudulent Call from Washington DC

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The criminal element is out there in force.  Identity theft has become an epidemic.  If we are not on guard, we can be fooled into the fraud that the criminal element has in store for us.

Months ago a young man called my mom claiming to be my son.  The caller told her he got into a little trouble, was in jail, and needed money to get out on bail.  Being his grandma, my mom wanted desperately to help, and would have if not for the terrible timing of the phone call.  My mom, when the phone rang, was getting into her car as a passenger.  Dad was taking her to the hospital for a surgery.

Immediately after her ten minute conversation with the boy that claimed to be my son, she called me.  She was upset when I didn't believe it was my son.  She was convinced it was him.  He spoke like him, and he knew things few people know.  The problem is, at the time of the phone call, my son was with his wife and kids on the road, and I knew it.  Shortly before the call by the fraudster to my mom, I was with my son.  I knew he was not in jail, and he had not spent the night in jail.

When we began doing a little investigation, my sister discovered the phone number used to make the call had been reported as being used for fraudulent reasons a number of times in the past.  A family member in the sheriff's department discovered the same.  My mom had almost been the victim of a new kind of scam.

As a political pundit, I am always on guard.  With the fraudulent call to my mom in my recent memory, I am aware that some of the tactics being used are unexpected, and aim at the emotions of our big hearts.  Right now there are people being called fraudulently by folks claiming to be the IRS, or other federal agencies, threatening liens or fines if money isn't sent immediately.  Often, these people calling will already have your social security number, and address, and it is just a matter of getting your credit card number, or your date of birth, that his holding them back from taking advantage of your identity, or finances.

Which brings me to my fraudulent call from Washington DC.

On my cell phone, the number was not visible, and my phone simply said, "Unknown."  I have a couple friends with unlisted numbers, and that is how it comes up on my screen when they call, so I assumed it was probably one of them.  When I answered the man told me he was calling from a department in Washington DC, and he had a federal grant waiting for me that needed only my approval for it to be sent to me.  When he said the name of the department, it was garbled, so I asked, "from what department are you calling?"

"Washington DC," he said.  "I calling you from Washington DC and we have a check for you.  I only need to verify your information, and for you to give me an approval to send this free money to you."

I immediately knew something didn't seem right, and taking a clue from the IRS story about fraudulent calls, I went on guard.  The federal government explains that the IRS will not call you on your phone, or send you an email.  They send you a snail mail notification.  Armed with that knowledge, I asked, "Did you send me a notification by mail?"

The caller hung up.

Scams are all around us.  The criminal element is desperate to get your information to steal your identity, or gain access to your finances.  We must be vigilant in how we maintain our personal information, and be aware when we receive notices that are suspicious.  The criminal element does their homework, they likely know things you would not think they'd know, and they are trying to use any strategy they can to convince you they are a legitimate agency, or company, that you need to send your money to.  As consumers, we must verify, verify, and then verify again.  We cannot be too trusting.  We must not give out our information to anyone unless we are one hundred percent sure they are the agency they say they are, and we are fully willing to cooperate with whomever it is because of those assurances.

Requiring snail mail verification is one of those methods we can use to weed out the truth, and expose scammers for who they are.

The 21st-Century Hitler Youth

by JASmius

As this documentary from the Israeli Center For Near East Policy Research illustrates, the post title above is no exaggeration or hyperbole:

The boy stands on a crowded field that looks better suited for soccer matches. He might be in his early teens, his face smeared with black camouflage. He explains what he's learning at a Hamas camp for boys in Gaza.

"I joined to fight the Zionist enemy," he says, "and to liberate our forefathers' land, Palestine. We won't allow the Jews to keep our land."

This boy is one member in the "Children's Army of Hamas," a title bestowed by the Israel-based Center for Near East Policy Research (CNEPR) in a new documentary short. It will be shown at a United Nations forum in Geneva today in an effort to prove that Hamas is violating international laws by training child soldiers, Fox News reports.

Hamas indoctrination of children at the earliest ages has been well documented. CNEPR sent a camera crew into Gaza three weeks ago to film the training and indoctrination, which features target practice with combat rifles, rockets, anti-aircraft equipment and exhortations from Hamas leaders. The video's extensive training footage, along with the clear justifications offered by Hamas officials, leaves little room for interpretation.

"Beware!" Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh says in speech at the camp's conclusion. "Jews, beware! This generation is not afraid to confront you in your centers. This is the generation of the stones! This is the generation of the missiles! This is the generation of the tunnels! This is the generation of the suicide bombers!"...

[I]n the film, Radwan, the Hamas religion minister, stresses the importance of indoctrinating the children with the charter's central tenets calling for ongoing violent jihad targeting Israelis and Jews.

"The Hamas charter is part of the program we teach…the charter outlines our reason to fight. It represents our principles for liberation."

Hamas parliament member, Sheik Ahmed Salama, reinforced the charter's significance.

"The charter is our principle and the principle has not changed. Hamas has decided that the armed struggle is the primary way to liberate the land," Salama said.

Emphasizing the group's commitment to Israel's destruction, another Hamas parliament member, Yehia Moussa, confirmed that the terrorist organization continues to prepare for future confrontations with Israel after every war, seeking to eradicate the Jewish state.

"Every compromise is just a short ceasefire. After every war, we prepare for the next war until the end of the conquest," Moussa explains.

Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005. Hamas took over the territory following a coup that ousted Fatah in 2007. The terrorist organization does not differentiate between the Palestinian territories, such as the West Bank and Gaza, and pre-1967 Israel. In this context, all of Israel is "occupied land" that Hamas seeks to "liberate."

And so on and so on and so on.

Did we mention that child indoctrination and conscription in the pursuit of terrorism are flagrant violations of Barack Obama's precious "international law"?  I guess we must have missed the "Muslim exemption" clause.  Probably because it was written in invisible ink.

So, then, this is Israel's "partner in peace".  This is the other half of the "two state solution" to which the Jews are required to cough up the strategic high ground on their own territory, from which raining rockets and missiles down on Israeli cities will become even easier.  What could possibly go wrong?  Besides the Israelis balking at committing national suicide, of course.  Which is why Barack Obama has exposed their nuclear arsenal to "international scrutiny".

White House chief of staff Denis (rhymes with penis) McDonough summed it up succinctly earlier this week:

“We cannot simply pretend that those [Netanyahu's disavowal of the "two state solution"] comments were never made, or that they don’t raise questions about the prime minister’s commitment to achieving peace through direct negotiations. An occupation that has lasted for almost fifty years must end, and the Palestinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state.

Which they define as....

Any questions?  I'm sure Bibi hasn't any.

Exit question: Is the title of the CFNEPR documentary "And The Children Shall Bleed"?  If it isn't, it should be.

Harry Reid Won't Seek Re-Election

by JASmius

Oh yea of little faith, why do you doubt your party's chances of taking back the Senate next year?:

Nevada Senator Harry Reid has announced that he will not seek re-election in 2016, saying that he wants to leave the Senate while he's still going strong.

"I want to be able to go out at the top of my game," Reid told the New York Times. "I don't want to be a 42-year-old trying to become a designated hitter."

That's an interesting analogy, no?  What does "at the top of my game" mean in a senatorial context?  Since physical condition, beyond simply not being physically incapacitated, doesn't seem to enter into that equation, we can only conclude that he means "at the top of my [mental] game".  Might this be an implicit concession that he might be in the early stages of dementia or Altzheimers?  There have been rumors to that effect, after all.  The concern may be that if he does have either of those conditions, or has another stroke, he may not make it through another six-year term, and - currently at least - Nevada has a Republican governor who would appoint (G)Reid's replacement to serve out the remainder of that term.  Why not bow out now and give a viable Nevada Donk a clear shot at holding onto that seat in what is bound to be a better year for Democrats as a whole?

That's Ramesh Ponnuru's conclusion:

Ramesh Ponnuru of National Review said that that statement "may shed more light on his decision than he perhaps intended."

Ponnuru contends that "getting a new Democrat elected will take money too, of course. If it would take more money to get the incumbent re-elected, doesn't that tell us something about his standing in the state?"

And not only Dirty Harry's re-election either:

The fundraising group for Senate Republicans predicts that Reid's seat will be an easy pickup for the GOP.

"Not only does Reid instantly become irrelevant and a lame duck, his retirement signals that there is no hope for the Democrats to regain control of the Senate," the NRSC said. "With the exception of Reid, every elected statewide official in Nevada is Republican and this race is the top pickup opportunity for the GOP.”

Oh, I don't know about no hope - the GOP has at least four vulnerable "blue"-State seats (Kirk in Illinois, Toomey in Pennsylvania, Johnson in Wisconsin, Ayotte in New Hampshire) that are likely to "come home" next year - but pickup opportunities like Nevada, and Michael Bennett's Colorado seat, at least give the GOP a chance to cling precariously to its Senate majority (although of what value that majority is is open to vigorous and rancorous debate).  If Senator Pencil-Neck was any kind of favorite to win next year - and remember, in his five previous victories, only once has he exceeded 51% of the vote - he'd already be off and running.

But then, maybe it's simply that the "game" has become too easy for him.  Remember that when the Democrats are in the majority, they run the Senate, and when the Republicans are in the majority....the Democrats run the Senate.  Last month's DHS appropriation fiasco proved that for all time.  So for Harry (G)Reid, perhaps there's just no more fun to be had in legislative confrontations and showdowns and wars that never materialize.  It's like the Skipper arm-wrestling Gilligan.  It's like sport-fishing with power saws.

Maybe Harry (G)Reid is just plain bored.

But he couldn't resist one final bitch-slap of his hapless counterpart:

In a message Reid sent out on YouTube, he told his successor, Senate Majority Mitch McConnell, not to be "too elated," adding that he's "going to be here for twenty-two months, and you know what I'm going to be doing — the same thing I've done since I first came to the Senate."

Yeah - treating Mitchie The Campbell's Soup Kid like the captured Islamic State harem girl he is - and, of course, running the U.S. Senate.  But seeing as though Dirty Harry's chief "leadership" trait is being a ruthless, hyper-partisan son of a bitch, it's not as though Chucky Schumer or Ali Dickbar Al-Durbini can't take over for him without missing a beat.

And so, as the Dispensible Man slithers off into the sunset, here's one for the road for the Harry about which we are most emphatically NOT wild....

UPDATE: It'll be Schumer.

Obama Exposes Israel's Nuclear Program

by JASmius

Thus giving our new Iranian "friends" the arsenal target they need to surpass (assuming, again, that they haven't already surpassed ours, much less Israel's), and telling them precisely where to aim their warheads.  Gee, thanks, Barry!  I'm sure Ali appreciates it!:

The U.S. government has chosen to declassify a top secret document that pulls the lid off Israel's nuclear weapons program.

According to Israel National News, the document written in 1987 was released in early February. It is believed to be the first time the U.S. has publicly acknowledged Israel has nuclear arms.

Which, to be fair, is one of the worst-kept secrets on the planet.  And really, if you were the Jews, with their ethnic and national history of diaspora and persecution and near-genocide, surrounded by over a billion bloodthirsty Muslim enemies, would you hammer your swords into plowshares and your spears into pruning hooks?  And yet with a thirty year head-start on the mullahs, Israel has never, not once, engaged in a single act of strategic preemption.

There's a lesson in that, if only Barack Obama was willing to learn it.

The 386-page document provides a detailed breakdown of how Israel developed nuclear weapons in the 1970s and 1980s.

You know, just in case the mullahs still needed any tips or shortcuts.  Kind of like copying the test answers from the smart kid.

Israel is "developing the kind of codes which will enable them to make hydrogen bombs. That is, codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level," reads the report, called "Critical Technological Assessment in Israel and NATO Nations."

The document, paraphrases Israel National News, says Israel was "reaching the ability to create bombs considered a thousand times more powerful than atom bombs" in the 1980s.

Up to twenty megatons per warhead, eh?  That would be a nice message to send to the mullahs, who can't go overboard on the overkill with all their nukes since Israel is not that big and they would, presumably, want to avoid collateral and fallout damage to the "Dar al-Islam" - which, come to think of it, may be the only factor holding back the Iranian nuclear onslaught The One is doing his damnedest to facilitate.

The document also says Israel's nuclear research laboratories "are equivalent to [the United States' Los Alamos, Lawrence Livermore and Oak Ridge National Laboratories."
"As far as nuclear technology is concerned the Israelis are roughly where the U.S. was in the fission weapon field in about 1955 to 1960," reads the document.

Of course you know the immediate reason why the White House leaked this information, right?  To bring the Israeli nuclear program into the same "international negotiations" framework as that of the mullahs.  A treacherous quid pro quo: If Prime Minister Netanyahu wants the Iranians to give up their nukes, Israel has to reciprocate - first.  Very soon now, the "international community," led by Barack Hussein Obama, will be demanding unilateral nuclear disarmament from Israel, while the Iranian nuclear weapons arsenal will be completely forgotten - which will be nicely facilitated by the unconditional surrender "deal" the Obama Regime will conclude with Tehran in a matter of days, if not hours.

One more time: Is there anybody out there who still believes that Barack Obama is "incompetent"?

More Enemies Within

by JASmius

Meet Hasan Edmonds: U.S. Army National Guard specialist by day, "Army of Allah" jihadist by night:

Specialist Hasan Edmonds, 22, was arrested Wednesday night at Chicago Midway International Airport while attempting to travel to Egypt to eventually join ISIS, according to Assistant Attorney General for National Security John P. Carlin and other federal officials said.  His cousin, Jonas “Yunus” Edmonds, 29, was arrested at his home in Aurora in connection with an alleged plot to carry out an armed attack on an unspecified U.S. military facility in northern Illinois where Hasan Edmonds had been training.

After an undercover FBI informant posing as an ISIS fighter outside the United States sent Hasan Edmonds a Facebook “friend” request in late 2014, he began to receive private messages from him indicating that he and his cousin were willing to travel to overseas and fight for ISIS.  ”InshAllah we will complete our task or be grants [sic] shahada [Arabic for martyr] I look forward to the training,” Hasan Edmonds is alleged to have told the informant in January. “I am already in the American kafir army and now I wish only to serve in the army of Allah alongside my true brothers.”

Jonas Edmonds this week accepted that he would be unable to travel and told the FBI informant of his intention to buy AK-47s and grenades to carry out an attack on the military facility. He would use his cousin’s uniform and “anticipated a body count of 100 to 150.” He was given a list of officer rankings by his cousin and advised to “kill the head,” according to court documents.

See?  This is what happens when the Commissariat of Injustice, Revenge & Coverup is between reichfuhrers: the FBI has pulled a political incorrectness two-fer, perpetrating heinous acts of both racism and Islamophobia on the Edmonds cousins at the same time.  Obviously Assistant Reichsfuhrer Carlin and the "other federal officials" need to be summarily fired and forced to undergo reeducation, and Messrs. Edmonds need to be paid reparations and have their newfound allegiance to ISIS recognized, respected, and honored, and their attack on the northern Illinois military training facility funded and facilitated and aided in any way the Edmonds cousins might require, including requiring the targeted officers to line up handcuffed, legironed, blindfolded, and gagged.  Because, "social and religious justice".

Kinda makes one wonder what percentage of the ostensible U.S. Army is made up of anti-American enemies - besides the commander-in-chief, that is.

Temecula Constitution Class: The Powers of War

Instructor: Douglas V. Gibbs

According to Article I, Section 8, Congress has the power to declare war.  Article II gives the President the authority to wage war.  Article I, Section 7 gives the power of the purse to the House of Representatives, which means the people through their representatives have the power to fund war, or defund war.

The Second Amendment calls for a Well-Regulated Militia, meaning that the militia must be in good order.  Article I, Section 8 provides Congress with the ability to provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the militia.

The Legislative Branch, being the strongest of the three branches, is tasked with constituting tribunals inferior to the supreme Court, according to Article I, Section 8.  Article III confirms that power, indicating that Congress has the authority to establish inferior courts from time to time.

Article I, Section 8 also states the Congress can provide and maintain a Navy, as well as raise and support Armies, but the funding for the army is limited to a term of two years, while the Navy has no time limit on budgeting.

Congress has the power to call forth the Militia, as does the State executive, but in Article II the President is Commander in Chief of the militia when they are called into the actual service of the United States.  What does that mean?  And how does that tie into the President's power to wage war, and Congress's other powers regarding war that we discussed in the first paragraph of this review of tonight's class?

Join us as we go over all of this, and more at 6:30 pm at Faith Armory, 41669 Winchester Road, Temecula.

Hard Starboard Radio: A Full-Fledged Middle East War

All about the "New McCarthyism"; Despite the value of Senator Tom Cotton's open letter, he will become Obama’s scapegoat when the Iran negotiations inevitably fail; Bowe Berghdahl, the pawn and operative of honorless leaders; Why Islamic Fundamentalists love bulldozing history; We need a strategy, and the will, to fight and defeat hard and soft jihad; and which is the full-fledged Middle East War? The one in Yemen or the one in Iraq and Syria? The answer is: Both.

Beth Van Duyne, Anti-Soft Jihad Warrior Princess

by JASmius

Six weeks ago, we brought to your attention the creeping Sharia-ism infiltrating Irving, Texas.  At the time, Mayor Beth Van Duyne stated, "Recently, there have been rumors suggesting that the city of Irving has somehow condoned, approved, or enacted the implementation of a sharia law court in our city....Let me be clear, neither the city of Irving, our elected officials or city staff have anything to do with the decision of the mosque that has been identified as starting a sharia court."  Two days ago, Mayor Van Duyne led the Irving city council in a resolution supporting Texas HB562, which reasserts the supremacy of U.S. and State law over Sharia, declaring, "It is important to recognize the Constitution and unite behind U.S. and Texas laws....Respect them, obey them, embrace them."

The reaction from the soft-jihadists and their leftwingnut allies has been predictably sulfuric.  And while Mayor Van Duyne may be a hot blonde, she is no shrinking violet:

According to WND, Van Duyne has sworn to “fight with every fiber in my being” against the establishment of Shariah law in her town, and despite the outcry from Muslim groups and the leftward media, she has also garnered quite a bit of support from her community, as well as from conservatives around the country.

She even worked with the Texas State Legislature to draft a bill that directly prohibits the use of foreign codes of law in U.S. courts, which was approved by her city council.

Although the bill doesn't mention Islam, or any other religion for that matter, there is little doubt that it is designed to prevent the use of Shariah law in the U.S., as similar laws have been passed in a number of states around the country.

Mayor Van Duyne is courageously standing up for American values and American ideals, even in the face of withering criticisms and demonization launched against her by terrorist front groups like CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, aided of course by the useful idiots in the media.

And whaddaya know?  She's winning.  It's amazing what a stiff dose of cultural self-confidence can accomplish.  It just goes to illustrate how so many of the battles in what we call the "culture war" have to be won against ourselves, after which taking on and defeating the actual enemy can prove to be a much less formidable task.  We must, in other words, believe that we can win before we ever will win.

Yeah, it's in deep-"red" Texas, so Mayor Van Duyne has the "home field advantage".  But this counter-counterculture offensive has to start somewhere.  And she is most definitely more than a mere "cheerleader".  Hint: Remove the "cheer".

If We Turn Our Backs on Israel

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The everlasting covenant God made with Abraham is a direct relationship between God and the Jewish people.  God used Abraham as a vehicle to bless all of the families of the Earth, a fulfillment that comes through Jesus Christ.  But God also issued a warning.  The people who blessed Abraham and his descendants would receive a blessing from God, but those who cursed them would receive a curse.

Genesis 12:3 - "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

That applies specifically to Israel because the everlasting covenant was passed to the Jewish people.

Psalm 105:9-10 - "Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; and confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant."

God established an everlasting covenant with Abraham, and his descendants, as a blessing of all people.  The covenant, however, focused on the land we now call Israel.  God deals with nations according to that covenant.  The everlasting covenant remains in place.  It has never been abrogated.

The covenant God instituted with Abraham was renewed and passed to Isaac, and includes all of Isaac's descendants.

Genesis 26:3-4 - "I will be with thee, and will bless thee' for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father. . . and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed."

The covenant God passed to Isaac and his descendants, was then passed to Jacob and his descendants.

Genesis 35:12 - "And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land."

The Jewish people are still under the everlasting covenant God made with Abraham; whoever blesses them will be blessed, and whoever curses them will be cursed.  God's covenant is based on His Holiness, and it cannot be broken.

Psalm 89:34-35 - "My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.  Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David."

God used Israel to reveal Himself.  He chose the Jewish people to be the vehicle for this revelation.  He used Israel to bring forth prophets and give the world His Scripture.  God called Israel a light and witness to the surrounding pagans, and he used the people, culture and genealogy to bring the Messiah to all of mankind.

The Bible reveals that nations who attempt to destroy his covenant with Israel, or stand against his chosen people, will be dealt with in judgment.  History is filled with tyrants that have tried to destroy the Jewish people, and prevent the rebirth of the nation of Israel.  Every attempt has failed, and the Jewish people have endured, and eventually became a nation once again.

The Jewish people were also colonists in the place that would become the United States of America prior to the United States becoming a independent country.  At the time of the Revolutionary War, 7,000 Jews lived in America, and they were emphatically supportive of the drive for independence.  Haim Salomon helped fund the Revolutionary War, and the Jewish banker from New York, when the American government was no longer able to borrow money to keep the war effort funded, borrowed money on his own credit for the purpose of backing the finances of the United States.  Salomon personally made large loans with no interest to many of the leading Americans of the Revolution.

Jews never suffered in America as they did in European nations.  The United States has been a blessing to the Israelites, and in 1790, President George Washington verbalized the love America has for the Jewish people.

"May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other inhabitants; while everyone shall sit under his own vine and fig tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid."

America has blessed the Jewish People, and has been a strong ally of the State of Israel since its rebirth in 1948; and for that, America has been blessed.

Under the Obama administration, however, we have begun to turn our back on Israel, and the result, if this continues, will be judgment, and a curse upon the Land of Liberty.

Islam is intent on destroying Israel.  The tiny State of Israel is surrounded by their enemy.  Terrorist attacks and missile attacks against Israel have become a norm, and now the world is once again trying to pressure Israel to give up land for peace by giving in to a "two-state solution" that would give the Palestinians full control over all of the "occupied territories," which would eliminate Israel's buffer against attack, and move Muslim enemy closer to destroying Israel's existence.

Recently, when Israel retreated from Gaza, the immediate response was missile attacks and terror attacks.  If Israel does the same in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, an immediate attack against Israel will be the result.  Meanwhile, the Obama administration is pressuring Israel to give in to the United Nation's demand for a two-state solution.  Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, is being treated as an enemy as the White House gives funding, aid, and comfort to the Muslim nations that surround Israel.  Iran is being given an opportunity to continue pursuing its nuclear goals, while Israel is being condemned for rejecting Palestinian statehood.

White House chief of staff Denis McDonough has warned Israel against annexing the West Bank, and said Netanyahu's prediction that a Palestinian state wouldn't come about on his watch was "so very troubling... We cannot simply pretend that these comments were never made."

The Obama administration was even actively involved in trying to unseat Netanyahu, funneling American tax dollars to Netanyahu's opponent in the recent Israeli national election.  Obama has said the U.S. must reevaluate its approach to pursuing Mideast peace because of Netanyahu's comments, and has entertained speculation the U.S. will be less willing to come to Israel's defense in the United Nations.

The minions of the Obama administration have condemned Israel for building settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and have accused Israel of "controlling another people (Palestinians)."  Some progressives in the United States, in their condemnation of Israel, have gone so far as to accuse the country of being an "apartheid" state when it comes to Israel's dealings with Muslims in the country.

McDonough received a standing ovation when he called out Israel's government for ongoing construction of settlements in the West Bank, when he said Israel cannot control another people forever, warning that such a move would be illegal and would contribute to Israel's "total isolation" from the international community.

"An occupation that has lasted more than 50 years must end," McDonough said.

As we continue to stand against Israel, try to force Israel to lose land to those that wish to destroy the tiny nation, and as we negotiate with Iran (which will in the long run assist Iran in building an arsenal that they can use to destroy Israel), where do we think America will stand regarding judgment from God?  Are we blessing Israel as we have always done, or is the Obama administration cursing Israel, thus inviting God's curse upon America?

While America's federal government pressures Israel to surrender her land for "peace," what calamities will befall America because we are not, as individuals, fighting to change the direction our country is headed regarding our relationship with Israel?

Mr. Gibbs, I Presume?

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Last night I drove out to Mentone to attend a speech by last Saturday's radio guest, Dr. Duke Pesta.  After Dr. Pesta's incredible presentation regarding the dangers of Common Core, during which I learned even more than I thought I already knew about the devious statist strategy to indoctrinate our children towards accepting even more government control over their lives, I approached the stage to have a few words with Dr. Pesta.  The crowd in Mentone also wanted to talk to Dr. Pesta, so I waited patiently to the side a little, realizing that my time with Dr. Pesta would probably last longer than the quick comments and questions by the line of folks that had formed.  Since Dr. Pesta was a guest on Constitution Radio last week, we had already exchanged a few words prior to his speech when I arrived at the Redlands Tea Party event and he told me at that time how much he had enjoyed being on the program.  While waiting for an opportunity to speak with Dr. Pesta, I struck up a conversation with Don Dix, a friend from the Unite I.E. group, and Act! for America Corona Chapter, and radio colleague.  He broadcasts on KTIE.  As I talked to Don, another individual stood nearby.  I thought he was waiting to talk to Dr. Pesta, or perhaps Don, but he never seemed to take advantage of the few moments when Dr. Pesta was in between answering questions, and it seemed to me he was watching me speak more than Don.

After I finally got a chance to talk to Dr. Pesta, and was ready to go out the door, the gentleman that had been waiting nearby approached me.  "Are you Mr. Gibbs?" he asked.

"Yes," I replied.

The man then explained to me that he had been waiting to talk to me, and that he recognized me by my voice.  He's been a listener to Constitution Radio for a couple years.

"When I heard your voice, I was pretty sure it was you.  You sound exactly the same in person as you do on the radio.  I really enjoy the show, and I was hoping we could talk for a moment."

I suggested we go outside, since the room we were in was getting stuffy, and the noise of conversation was still pretty loud.  Outside, near my car, we had the chance to talk.

Brad said he found my program going through the local radio dial about the same time when Paul, the originator of the Book of the Week segment, passed away.  His favorite part of the show, he said, is the Constitution Quest Question of the Week, he wished we didn't have to always race through the AllStar Collision Big Stories of the Week, and though he liked the guests I have, he hoped I would spend less time with guests, and more time on the U.S. Constitution during the program than I already do.  He is considering joining the Constitution Class on Tuesday Nights in Corona, and he told me that through my radio program he has learned a lot.  He found me a few weeks ago on Conservative Voice Radio on KMET, and has become a listener of that program, too.

I gave him a copy of my book, "25 Myths of the United States Constitution" as a gift, and we talked about a number of constitutional issues from the stronghold of statism in the court system and how they use Judicial Review to unconstitutionally circumvent the Constitution, to the various myths in my book, to the current administration in the White House and how this President is becoming more and more of a dictator with each passing day.

It was a thrill for me to be recognized, and it was kind of a surprise that my voice is that recognizable in a crowd.  Brad, at one point, remarked how he couldn't believe he was talking to me, and I told him, "I am nobody special.  I am just someone that God has given the opportunity to reach folks about the truth."

The gentleman asked me about Mark Levin, and the Article V. Convention support that Mark has had since his book, "The Liberty Amendments," and I told Brad that I was a supporter of an Article V. Convention long before Mark was, but that I also recognize that we must go into a convention informed, and using a grassroots effort to keep it under control.  This is where I explained to him that an Article V. Convention is not a "Con-Con," for there has only been one Constitutional Convention.  It was in 1787, and there should be no other.  Article V. in the United States Constitution gives us two methods for amending the Constitution; either the Congress Critters proposing amendments, or We the People through our States.  Either way, it still takes 3/4 of the States to ratify the proposed amendment, and in my opinion, I'd rather it be us through our States, than the Congressional Cowards who bow to federal supremacy, proposing amendments.  However, if we want to make sure the process if properly guided, that is where Republic Review comes into play.  We the People can assign delegates to hold a convention to audit the Federal Government, and then bring that to the attention of the State legislatures so that they can take appropriate action be it nullification, or participating in an Article V. Convention, or whatever.  Remember, any authority the federal government has must be ratified by 3/4 of the States, so if through Republic Review we determine that a quarter, plus one, of the States would not ratify an amendment for the government to have, let's say, a Department of Education, then it is unconstitutional, and it would never be constitutional unless three quarters of the States would be willing to allow the federal government to have that authority through the ratification of an amendment.  Then, armed with that knowledge, if we bring the reality of where the Constitution stands on the issue to our States, and the States understand the power the people have in their own reelection, the States will then work with We the People to either eliminate the department, or bring it to a ratification vote to see if it would pass ratification muster.

But we must be working together, doing what we can to educate the people, and fix the broken motor that refuses to abide by the United States Constitution.  Sitting on the couch complaining is not an effective strategy.  Brad agrees, and I think he will now be even more involved than before. . . and after he finishes reading 25 Myths of the United States Constitution he'll be a little more informed, too.

Iran Seizes U.S. Intel In Yemen Collapse

by JASmius

<Facepalm>:

A U.S. intelligence network in Yemen has been compromised after files were taken by Iranian-backed militia leaders amid violent protests in the Middle Eastern country.

According to a Los Angeles Times report, officials from the Yemen government have given other files about American intelligence operations in Yemen to Iranian advisers as well....

The theft of the files deals a significant blow to intelligence activities in the region. The L.A. Times reports the program had been implemented to track down and kill operatives from Al-Qaida. A facet of the terror group, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), is based in Yemen and is considered by the U.S. to be the most dangerous branch of the group.

When Houthi forces recently gained control of Yemen's National Security Bureau office, it became clear the identities of local agents working for the Americans were uncovered, the L.A. Times reports.

That's the bad news.  The good news?  Our own people might have escaped being compromised:

The L.A. Times report does say it doesn't appear militants took files about U.S. intelligence operatives, only the names and contact information of Yemeni agents the U.S. had been using to disable the terror network in Yemen. [emphasis added]

Guaranteeing that they're all dead people walking, and further increasing the likelihood of indigenous locals "on the ground" never trusting us again.  And given that "humint" (human intelligence, as opposed to technical intelligence - satellites, signals intercepts, etc. - that gathers mountains of data that are of much less use without sources that can quickly separate the proverbial wheat from the chaff) is very difficult and time-consuming to cultivate, train, and maintain, the loss of this Yemeni intelligence network constitutes a huge loss.  And in a shadow war such as the one against Islamic Fundamentalism, where intelligence-gathering is of paramount importance if large-scale mass-casualty attacks are to be averted, well....let's just say that when jihadists take down the Willis (Sears) tower, for example, perhaps simultaneously with New York's Freedom Tower and the U.S. Capitol, we'll have a pretty good idea of where the attacks originated, and how they could have been stopped before ever being launched.

But not to worry, Red Barry assures us, because thanks to his herculean efforts, the Iranians are now our allies.  And they would NEVER put this intelligence treasure trove to any inimical use against us - would they?

Would they?

UPDATE: The Saudis' answer to that question appears to be, "Hell, yeah!":

Saudi Arabia has mobilized 150,000 troops and some 100 fighter jets to rout Iran-linked fighters that have taken over swathes of neighboring Yemen, a security adviser to the kingdom told NBC News on Thursday.

The adviser, Nawaf Obaid, did not say whether any of Saudi troops had crossed the border into Yemen as part of the kingdom’s military intervention to arrest Yemen’s rapidly deteriorating crisis. But he said Saudi Arabia was in “complete control” of Yemeni airspace after launching airstrikes overnight and started implementing a no-fly zone. Iran quickly condemned the airstrikes launched by Saudi Arabia and its allies as “very dangerous” for the region.

“Many innocent people were killed,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afgam said in a statement. “Regional governments should show respect to each other and peacefully resolve matters.”

Easy for them to say since they control Yemen, and what they urge would preserve that control.  And, of course, the mullahs are the experts on "showing respect" and "peacefully resolving matters".

This, then, is the wages of "smart power": Widespread, out-of-control chaos escalating towards regional all-out war.  Gosh, it's sure a good thing George W. Bush isn't still president, huh?

Exit question: We're not participating in this war, natch, but if we did, on whose side would we intervene?  Our allies to help them fight Iranian proxies in Yemen, or our "allies" who are fighting ISIS in Iraq and whom we are all but giving a nuclear weapons arsenal?  Are we even sure we want to find out?

Hard Starboard Radio: Is Scott Walker The Victim Of His Own Success?

Board-game lovers, unlike congressional Republicans, would at least know how to set a goal and think three moves ahead; What did Jeb Bush do to fight ObamaCare? Absolutely nothing; Ted Cruz should try speaking to people instead of at them; Ted Cruz signs up for ObamaCare, but that's not what's really going to doom his candidacy; The "New McCarthyism" exists, but it has nothing to do with Ted Cruz; Scott Walker's quick rise to the top tier of GOP contenders has caught him and his campaign staff off guard; and Ben Carson, God bless him, is not ready for prime time.

Bowe Bergdahl Charged With Desertion

by JASmius

Is it enough?  Of course not.  Bowe Bergdahl is a traitor who should hang for his defection.  But he's also a pawn and operative of Barack Obama, so it's astonishing that he's facing any charges at all for his perfidious actions, even if it did take the Obamagon almost a year to file and announce them:

"Sergeant" Bowe Bergdahl, the Taliban "U.S." soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, faces charges of desertion and "misbehavior before the enemy," according to his lawyer. Eugene Fidell, Bergdahl’s attorney, told the Washington Post that his client was handed a charge sheet on Tuesday. Army officials announced they will provide an update in his case at 3:30 p.m. at Fort Bragg, N.C., but declined to discuss new developments ahead of the news conference.

"Misbehavior before the enemy"?  What the hell does that mean?  Eating a BLT?  Wearing his "Epic Meal Time" t-shirt?

Given that I thought he had already converted to Islam, I wouldn't have thought such "misbehavior" would have been possible.  Or does that charge mean misbehavior toward his, and his commander-in-chief's REAL enemy: America?  You have to admit, that'd be an easy mistake to make.

Let's see how this court martial unfolds.  The verdict will depend entirely upon of how much use Bergdahl still is to Obama.  Only if The One is finished with him will he end up in the stockade.

I still say Double-B has a long and lucrative congressional career in front of him, though.

The Remembrance Project

by JASmius

Wait, you mean not all Hispanics demand amnesty?  Some Hispanics are actually patriotic, constitutionalist Americans who want illegal immigration stopped and the border sealed and controlled?  The hell you say!:

Pedro Rivera is fifty three years old, Hispanic, and a retired military man. He’s also part of a growing number of Hispanic Texans pushing for stronger immigration enforcement, including the passage of SB 185, which would stop cities from implementing policies banning local cops from asking immigration-related questions.“I’m an American citizen and I believe in the rule of law,” Rivera said. “And being Hispanic, I should not be granted special privilege in avoiding the law. We need officers to have all the tools available to them to keep us safe. That includes asking the question, when you’re being detained for a crime or being arrested for an offense, ‘ are you here illegally? Are you a U.S. citizen? ‘”Rivera is working with Maria Espinoza, director of the Remembrance Project. Espinoza’s Houston-based organization works with families of Americans killed by people in the United States illegally.

“This is a new initiative,” Espinoza said, of an effort to recruit Hispanic conservatives to speak out in support of SB 185.

“I have never been pulled over. My daughter has never been pulled over, and none of her friends have been pulled over because of profiling,” she said. “We have to weigh the odds. We have families and we took families with us to the hearing whose loved ones were killed (by illegal [alien]s). Their children were killed by people who should not have been in the country in the first place. There is no comparison in lives lost to someone being detained (for questioning) for five or ten minutes.

”A message on the homepage of The Remembrance Project website reads: “We believe that America is exceptional. In our lives and in our country, America is the priority. As are Americans! Learn what you can do to stop the nonsense of ignoring laws and our U.S. Constitution. Help stop public servants from placing other countries and non-citizens before our families. Join us to speak up for Latinos!”

Over there you'll notice all those GOP political consultants jamming their fingers in their ears to keep their heads from exploding.

House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could not, of course, be reached for comment.

Switzerland Allies With Hamas Against Israel

by JASmius

So much for Swiss "neutrality":

Switzerland has put together a plan to reconstruct the Gaza Strip which includes paying the salaries of Hamas operatives, according to Palestinian officials interviewed by Israel’s NRG website. The plan would also reestablish the status of the Hamas terrorist organization as the only authority in the Gaza Strip.

In recent months, according to the report, Hamas has been faced with the danger of collapsing in Gaza, and turned to Swiss officials for help. Its relations with Egypt are at their worst ever, and funds intended to rehabilitate the coastal enclave after Israel’s Operation Protective Edge last summer have run out. Thousands of Hamas officials have not received their salaries for months, leading to weakening of Hamas’ legitimacy in Gaza, and raising the specter of protests against Hamas’ rule.

So the Israelis had their genocidal domestic enemy right where they wanted them, and now the Swiss are bailing them out and restoring them to the capability of resuming their daily slaughter of Jewish civilians.  How nice.

Switzerland’s relations with Hamas have been warming for a number of years. In 2009, the Swiss government initiated an Israeli-Palestinian conference, which was attended by former Israeli parliamentarian Yossi Beilin and members of Hamas, in order to discuss the possibility of renewing the peace process.

Wouldn't the cessation of daily rocket and missile attacks on Israeli population centers kinda be a, you know, prerequisite for any "peace process" worthy of the name?

That same year, Switzerland hosted a Hamas delegation lead by co-founder Mahmoud Al-Zahar on its own territory. Micheline Calmy-Rey, the Swiss Foreign Minister at the time, explained her country’s decision, saying “Hamas is an important player in the Middle East conflict, and cannot be ignored.”

Oh, the Israelis aren't ignoring it, Minister Rey.  That's why Prime Minister Netanyahu has ruled out a "two-state solution" as being the invitation to the end of Israel that everybody non-anti-Semite knows it is....

...It's just a despicable shame that you don't recognize the meaning of your own words.

Exit question: Does this mean that Swiss Miss Cocoa is canceling their kosher version, or are they introducing a "human blood & entrail" flavor?

Russian Aggression Backed By Threats and Action

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Russian Bear is on the move.  Vladimir Putin's hard-line KGB communist thuggery is now extending well beyond meddling in the Ukraine, annexing territory at will, and assassinating any opposition who dares to voice they are willing to stand in his way.

A part of Putin's strategy is to stand firm against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), an intergovernmental military alliance originally formed in 1949 that was brought into existence specifically to "contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area," which included being a unified force to protect members against the aggression of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).  From day one NATO stood in opposition to Russian expansionism, and Vladimir Putin has not forgotten that.

After the fall of the Soviet Union over a couple decades ago, questions regarding the necessity of continuing the existence of NATO began to arise.  With the aggressive activities being perpetrated by Russia of late, those questions have faded away, and membership in NATO has become an important strategy for a number of nations.

An important part of being a member of NATO is that it entitles a country to being defended by other NATO members should a direct attack against the nation be launched.  NATO nations work together for the defense of their members, a strategy that also includes an anti-missile defense shield.
Missile defense systems largely emerged from President Ronald Reagan's ideas that his opposition dubbed "Star Wars."  Since the development missile defense systems, components of the anti-missile shield has been deployed in various locations, largely in Western Europe to protect the members of NATO against a missile attack from the former Soviet Union.

Russia is still a strong opponent of anti-missile shield technology, and recently Russia's ambassador to Denmark said Russia could target Denmark's navy with nuclear missiles if the NATO member nation decides to join NATO's anti-missile shield effort.

The threat made by Ambassador Mikhail Vanin in an opinion piece he wrote for the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten sparked an angry reaction and came amid an increasingly Cold War-style standoff between Moscow and the West.

"I do not think that the Danes fully understand the consequences of what happens if Denmark joins the US-led missile defence," Ambassador Mikhail Vanin wrote in the daily.

"If this happens Danish warships become targets for Russian nuclear missiles."

NATO's missile shield was launched in 2010 and is due to be fully operational by 2025.  Participation includes protection from attacks, and the responsibility to contribute radar and weaponry to protect Europe against missile attacks.

Denmark has pledged to supply one or more frigates equipped with advanced radar to track incoming missiles.

Denmark's Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard said the remarks by the Russian ambassador were "unacceptable rhetoric" and "completely out of proportion".

The threat by the Russian ambassador is accompanied by the fact that in recent years Russia has been increasing the amount of incursions in the Baltic region by Russian military aircraft.

Russia is also revisiting an old Central American relationship the Soviet Union had with Nicaragua.  The new rekindling of once-strong ties possibly includes providing Nicaragua with jet fighters.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is going to be visiting four Latin American nations, including Nicaragua.  These meetings follow a series of high-level Russian visits to Nicaragua last year.  Last month, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu paid a two-day visit, and in January the head of Russia’s upper house of Parliament arrived. Russian leader Vladimir Putin visited in June.

The chief spokesman for the Sandinista Front on international matters, National Assembly Deputy Jacinto Suárez, defended the possible acquisition of the fighter planes indicating that Nicaragua’s relations with Russia have taken “a qualitative leap.”

During the period from 1979 to 1990 when the Soviet-supported Sandinista Front was in power, Moscow provided Nicaragua with Antonov AN-26 and AN-32 light transport aircraft and Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters.

Former Sandinista President Daniel Ortega won elections and returned to power in 2007. He was re-elected in 2011.  His anti-U.S. political rhetoric has acted as an invitation to Russia, an invitation Putin was not likely to pass up accepting.
