Unintended Consequences of Liberal Policies

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Leftist agenda driven policies sound good on paper to the liberals, but they never seem to work out as they plan (though they will lie and say it does).

DDT, for example, was banned because liberals figured it caused cancer, and a few folks were in danger. After banning the use of DDT, the increase of malaria killed millions.

Endangered species pose a special problem because whenever leftists try to protect them, property owners have been known to actually kill an endangered species they see on their property to get rid of it so that the feds won't see it and put their land off limits to their own use.

Here at home I experienced by own example of liberalism's unintended consequences.

The innards of one of my toilets sprang a leak, so I went down to buy a replacement. Problem is, all I could buy was the new "water saving" kind that only allows your tank to fill up about 2/3 of the way. Less water in the tank, less water used, right?

Problem is, it takes two flushes to get rid of the material in the bowl, which means we are actually using more water. If the water nazis had just left the water level alone, my water usage wouldn't have gone up.

Unintended consequences by agenda hounds that can't think past the end of their nose.
