Waiting For The Next Crisis

By Douglas V. Gibbs

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before. - Rahm Emanuel

Never waste a good crisis. - Hillary Clinton

The Leftists in control of Congress and the White House are looking for a good crisis. After all, they have made it clear that a good crisis allows them to do things they couldn't normally do (a la Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton).

Obama's Katrina, the next crisis is being called, would allow the liberal-led government to instill martial law, gather weapons from the citizens, create holding centers, and complete their power grab over the American People.

H1N1 was to be that crisis. Mandatory vaccinations, quarantine centers, and martial law would all have come into play had the National Emergency become the pandemic they were hoping for.

It turns out that the danger of H1N1 was overstated. It is a weaker strain of the flu than the seasonal flu we experience every year. More die every year from the seasonal flu than the H1N1 virus could ever achieve.

This is not to say that those that come down with the H1N1 influenza virus don't have a fight on their hands. It is still the flu, after all, and can still be a hard bug to kick. And, like other strains of influenza, it has killed people. It's just not the crisis the Democrats were hoping it would be.

One wonders what the next crisis it will be, and if it will be a lucky break for the Left, or a manufactured crisis with all the fixin's.
