Price Controls Hurt Consumers

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Competitive Enterprise Institute, in an effort to show evidence of the left's damaging plans to use price controls against the private industry, in this case against credit and debit card issuers, argues that in the long run government-imposed limits on the fees hurt consumers, credit unions and community banks.

John Berlau of the CEI writes that "If Congress restricts interchange fees, consumers may face higher costs for using their cards." Controlling fees to retailers will hurt consumer spending, since rather than lower prices in conjunction with the lower fees, retailers may pocket the entire windfall to help offset lower profits during a time of economic downturn.

From CEI: "The evidence comes from observing the effects of interchange fee caps in Australia, where consumers have been socked with annual fees and suffered from a reduction in rewards such as airline miles to make up for retailers' reduced payments. Consumers in Australia did not see any tangible reduction in prices stemming from retailer savings. The GAO further notes that the Australia's central bank 'estimates that fees to merchants were lower by about 1.1 billion Australian dollars for the period of March 2007 through February 2008, but officials acknowledged that it would be very difficult to provide conclusive evidence of the extent to which these savings have resulted in lower retail prices'."

CEI also reports that the report on Australia also "found strong evidence that interchange controls would make it harder for community banks and credit unions to compete in offering credit and debit cards. With less interchange fee income, representatives of smaller issuers such as community banks and credit unions told us that they likely would not offer rewards cards and therefore would be unable to compete with the larger issuers in the market."

In addition, interchange fee controls would also hurt the thousands of charities and alumni associations that rely on "affinity cards" for fundraising during a time in which charities are already under attack by the leftist government faction in the U.S.

John Berlau urges that the U.S. Government heed the warnings of what has happened elsewhere when their socialist policies have been tried. Reality dictates that "placing controls on interchange fees actually enriches retailers at the expense of consumers, charities, credit unions, community banks and ultimately, innovation in the American economy."

Muslims Riot, Health Care, Climate Change, & Liberals, oh my! - Political Pistachio Radio Revolution

Health Care Debate Passes Senate, begins after Thanksgiving

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Without a vote to spare, the U.S. Senate voted on Saturday to open debate on health care legislation 60-39. The passage of the cloture vote does not guarantee passage of the bill in a later vote, but it does allow Senator Harry Reid, and the other hard left Democrats, to begin their persuasion techniques to convince the moderate Democrats to do more than simply vote for cloture, but to make government-run health care law.

The Senate bill claims it will extend health benefits to roughly 31 million Americans who are now uninsured (which is still short of their claim of 47 million uninsured), at a cost of $848 billion over 10 years, through a federal program, despite the fact that the U.S. Constitution gives the U.S. Government no authority to do so.

The House of Representatives recently approved its own health care bill by the narrow vote of 220 to 215, and the House bill is very similar to the Senate legislation, with a few differences that Democrats believe they can iron out.

In response to opposition, the argument by the Democrats is that "the Republicans had control of the Congress before, and they did not solve the health care crisis."

That's because there is no health care crisis - and the problems the industry does have is the result of government intervention in the form of regulations, and restrictions on the industry.

Interestingly enough, the left is already making preparations to ration health care, which is what will happen if a leftist health care proposal becomes law. Your choice will be taken away from you, and given to some Washington bureaucrat that knows nothing about you, medicine, or the liberty of choice. They will decide when and if you get care, and will rationalize their choices with arguments regarding your behavior, and false studies that make ridiculous findings such as the recent ones that proclaimed women no longer need mammograms until age 50 (so much for early detection), and that young women don't require cervical cancer screenings or their first pap test, until age 21, and that they should be screened less often than recommended in the past.

Interesting how for decades the Democrats demanded preventive medicine with HMO type plans, but once it looks like their government faction will be paying, suddenly preventive medicine is a no-no.

Furthermore, shouldn't people have a choice as to whether they wish to be tested earlier, or later, based on their own beliefs, or the advice of their doctor? Why should government be able to make those kinds of choices for you?

Even worse, with technology now able to determine someone's genetic disposition for disease, or defects, will government withhold care from those they believe will cost too much?

International Climate Change Measures Are Delayed

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Newsy has a new video that addresses Obama's inability to man-up to his campaign promises - in this case, entering into an international treaty that will allow a global body of governance to dictate to us our energy usage, buying habits, and freedoms so that we can save ourselves from our dying planet that s being ravaged by the scourge of Global Warming (or is it Climate Change?).

After watching the video, and reading the comments that suggested that health care legislation is more important than saving the planet, I left the following comment:

Man-made climate change fears are based on faulty scientific assumptions, just as the Democrat's health care proposals are based on faulty political assumptions. International global warming agreements are a step towards a strong, centralized international governing body which is designed to micro-manage the lives of individuals and the nations they reside in. I believe that such agreements are dangerous to both America's sovereignty, and our liberty as individuals.

Interesingly enough, conservatives like myself have been proclaiming for the last few years that the man-made global warming fears are based on false data, and the phenomenon of worldwide temperature change is a natural occurance, and cannot be altered by human intervention. One of the many causes of warming and cooling trends on a worldwide scall is sunspot activity (imagine that, the sun warming the Earth!), of which right now there are less (in fact none) sunspots and solar flares facing the Earth, and therefore the planet has now entered a non-warming trend. In fact, there are some scientists that suggest global warming stopped in 1998.

Despite the hysterical, maniacal rhetoric of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown (remember his "50 Days To Save The Planet" remark?), American Democrats led by Barack Obama, the United Nations Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and tree huggers everywhere, we are not in danger of drowning, killing off the polar bears, or growing crops in the Yukon. As conservatives have been saying all along, man-made global warming is a hoax, and climate change is a naturally occuring event. That being the case, now that science has proven itself to be wrong (imagine that, they can't predict if it will rain next week with any accuracy, but they expect us to believe them when they say weather patterns will go awry in 50 years if we do nothing about global warming!), it would be prudent to cease all attempts at global warming based legislation and international agreements.

The cold, hard facts are that Cap and Trade, and international climate change treaties, are going to go on as planned (because liberals are like pit bulls, once they sink their teeth in, they will rip, claw, lie, and force their way into our lives if given the chance), despite the reality of the error in what they believe regarding planetary weather patterns. The hysterics continue, and the panic has actually worsened among the environmentalist faithful. What the "Save The Earth" crowd doesn't seem to understand, however, is that they have been used like a herd of cattle being led to the slaughter, and they are leading us to our demise with an ignorant grin on their faces.

Politicians could care less if the data regarding climate change is accurate, or not. Their motivation has nothing to do with the environment. Climate change laws, especially on an international level, provides an opportunity for these hard left zombies to control and punish the people who are successful, while redistributing wealth to poorer nations (and their own gold-lined pockets). In other words, climate change is all about corruption, power, and controlling your lives.

Interestingly enough, despite all of the scientific data that the Earth has stopped warming, and that man-made climate change is a myth/hoax, the media is still trying to sell the hysteria, proclaiming in a piece filled with panicked terror just today that ". . . global warming accelerated since '97 Kyoto pact: 'We are in more trouble than we thought'." What that is called is a counter claim. However, it doesn't matter how much leftists claim the Polar Bears are going extinct even though their numbers have been steadily increasing over the last five decades, and it doesn't matter how much they claim increase carbon emissions doom the planet even though the data is backwards and it is actually warming that causes the increase in carbon amounts (thanks to our oceans and volcanoes, partly), the reality is that scientific truth says the hysterical global warming environmentalists are wrong, and just won't admit it because their gold-lined pockets, and thirst for more power is more important to them than the truth.

Thoughts Over Upcoming Thanksgiving, and Troops in Afghanistan

A letter to my good friend, Cyber-Pastor Ed Boston, says a mouthful about our troops in Afghanistan, and our upcoming Thanksgiving prayers and wishes:

Dear Editor:

While I'm eating my Thanksgiving dinner with my family this year, I'm going to have a hard time enjoying it knowing that our President is willingly allowing our men and women in Afghanistan to die while waiting for him to make up his mind whether or not to give them the resources they need for survival.

I was heartsick while reading a chat room that is sometimes visited by soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan, ask us to please pray for their safety because each day things get worse, and they don't know when they are going to get the help they need. Pastor Ed Boston, Of Hope Wesleyan Church in Hope, IN works with deployed soldiers and veterans through an on-line ministry called Do The Right Thing. He has confirmed the stories and the concerns of those currently serving.

These brave men and women went where they were told to go and are doing their very best, so how deranged is it to send them there as sitting ducks while the elite politicians play golf in between paying off their friends for political favors.

There is something so seriously wrong with our government allowing the Secretary of the Treasury to get away with funnelling obscene amounts of money to his friends in the auto unions, not to mention the developing corruption story coming out of the Goldman Sachs relationship. Simultaneously, this administration is obsessed with taking over 1/6 of our economy through socialized healthcare! All the while, as if they are invisible, the President is completely ignoring our brightest and best who are literally dying in Afghanistan.

These same politicians campaigned on how Afghanistan was the war we "should" be in, and most Americans agreed with them, and yet they have absolutely no conscience at allowing these men to be slaughtered when it is within their power to protect them. It is beyond me how they sleep at night.

So we'll eat our Turkey and be grateful that we live in the greatest country on earth, but first I'll call and write to all of my legislators and plead with them not to sit down to their dinner until they have gotten our military the support they need, and stop sending our children to slaughter like the bird they are about to consume.

Muslims Riot in Greece After Koran is Ripped (Video)

The Muslims are demanding an apology for the incident that resulted in the ripping in two of their holy book, the Koran. Though I can understand the disgust by anyone of any religion of the desecration of one's "holy book," the riots and violence are a sign of what Islam is really all about.

Could you imagine if Christians rioted every time the Bible was desecrated? In the Muslim countries the Bible is considered contraband.

No apology, Greece, you have been invaded too, and you need to treat these people as "enemy combatants."

History: Kennedy, Oswald and Johnson

By Douglas V. Gibbs

On Nov. 22, 1963, 46 years ago today, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by a gunshot to the head while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. The suspected gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, was arrested, and a wave of speculation and conspiracy theories arose over Kennedy's death. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as the President of the United States, also, on this date.

Muslims Absent From America's Heritage

Received by Email, originator or author unknown, but it brings about a lot of great points regarding Islam in America's History:

OBAMA said, in his recent Cairo speech: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story. Oh yeah????

Dear Mr. Obama:

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed?
Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving day?
Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?
Declaration of Independence?
Bill of Rights?
Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England?
No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America?
No, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own 'half brother' a devout Muslim still advocates slavery himself, even though muslims of Arabic descent refer to
black muslims as "pug nosed slaves." Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage" doesn't it Mr.Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country?
Not present. There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King Jr.. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era?
Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man that is not a direct family member or their husband.
Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II?
They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?
If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the middle east. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America.

Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8

Doug's Quote on Political Pistachio Radio About God and America

During the afterglow of tonight's program on Political Pistachio Radio I began to talk about our faith in God, and the importance of having a God-centered outlook. I believe the creation of this nation was God-inspired, and that our Founding Fathers were deeply religious men. I also believe that our Constitutional Republic has biblical foundations. However, the most important part of all of this can be summed up in my quote at the end of the program where I said, "We have to remember where our salvation lies, and it is not in government."

Kalid Sheikh Muhammed Trial a Political Move

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Left is arguing that terrorists have been tried in federal court before because they don't get it. So, let me say this slowly and clearly: No enemy combatant caught in the field of battle has ever been tried in federal court, and what Holder and Obama are wanting to do with the 9/11 mastermind will set a dangerous precedent.

Also, remember, Obama and Holder have both said that Muhammed will be found guilty. The defendant's counsel can then argue that his client can't receive a fair trial, and the president and attorney general have already proclaimed it is a foregone conclusion that the defendant is guilty.

The judge could then dismiss the case, and the murderer of 3,000 Americans could walk free.

There is not sanity in the left's decision to bring the 9/11 suspects to New York for a federal trial. Therefore, it must be a political move. The purpose is something other than the conviction of the terrorists - and I believe it is the left's way of putting America, and Bush, on trial. In the long run it will backfire, and Obama's approval rating will continue to dive below 50%, and lower, as a result.

Mortgage Woes Worsen

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I thought under Barack Obama we were going to see homes saved, and a massive program making sure that America got back on its feet. Instead, we are seeing late payments and foreclosures once again at a record high.

In fact, Obama's foreclosure prevention plan is helping very few. After all, how can a federal government being led by a bunch of buffoons administer it correctly, anyway?

None of Obama's programs and policies are working, and none of them will. The simple answer is that there are no good collective answers to individual problems. Government is not capable of taking care of the people. It is the individual that is best equipped to take care of himself. And if a home is lost, they move into an apartment, or back with family, or whatever, and then try again later. That is how a free society works.

Not one thing the Democrats have done has fixed anything, and big government solutions will never fix anything - because government is not the solution. Government is the problem.

Democrats Over Republicans, in unemployment numbers

According to Rasmussen Reports, 15.0% of Democrats in the workforce are currently unemployed and looking for a job. Among adults not affiliated with either major party, that number is 15.6% while just 9.9% of Republicans are in the same situation.

What does that say about who is willing to pick themselves up by the bootstraps, and who is waiting for the government to bail them out?

Something to be said for doing whatever it takes to survive, versus waiting to be waited upon. I suppose this is a good example of what happens to people's unwillingness to apply themselves after years and years of being trained to depend on government programs.

Democrats & Unaffiliateds More Likely To Be Unemployed Than Republicans - Rasmussen Reports

My Liberal Friend in France

I've known Dan Bessie for a long time. He is a small publisher, and his father was one of the black-listed Hollywood Ten during the McCarthy era. As it turns out, Dan's father was in fact a communist, and in the case of Dan, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Dan and I sometimes Email back and forth in debate, and I thought I'd share some of it with you, or at least the latest round of debates.

----------------

In the first Email of this latest debate, Dan sent me a link to a cartoon that depicted today's outcry against Obama's socialist policies as simply a bunch of folks rebutting needed change and calling it socialist. The programs addressed in the cartoon are Public Schools, a public water system, Public Highways, public parks, and now public health care.

The federal government has no business being involved in any of those issues. Madison's veto of a Public Works Bill in 1817, for example, reminded us that from a Constitutional standpoint, the states have the responsibility to keep up the highways, not the federal government.

I also told Dan that, "every one of those public systems are unconstitutional. The federal government does not have the authority to run any of them. Each and every one of them are state issues. As for federally run health care, the idea that there is no public option is a lie. The states have a public option. Here in California it is called Medi-Cal. Therefore, when the Democrats proclaim there is no health care available to 47 million Americans, it is a lie. The push is not for giving people health care, but for the federal government to gain control of the system. That is where the danger lies. Thanks for the cartoon, it was humorous, but misses the point, as does most of the left."

Dan responded (and my answers to his response follow each question in red),

"I'm not going to get into a constitutional argument with you regarding states right, but let me ask you, honestly:

Would you want to not have Social Security? Biggest Ponzi Scam ever created.

Would you want to bring back child labor? Those laws would have passed regardless.

Would you want to end Medicare? It is bankrupt. States are allowed to have similar programs if the people so wish.

Would you want to end public schools? State function. Federal Government has no business in schools. children from private schools and home schooling score higher.

Would you want to close the national parks? Unconstitutional for federal government to snatch up land.

I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Dan's next response?

Thanks for your views, Doug... but you don't answer the questions. What you do instead, is rely on the mistaken belief that because, more than 200 years ago, a group of men got together and framed a Constitution, that therefore everything in it is holy writ, and must be obeyed to the letter.

What you ignore is the fact that our Constitution was written during a time of very particular circumstances; circumstances that are very very different than they are today. So instead of THINKING, you throw out catch phrases you've learned, heard from Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck or whoever, implying that the legislators of each state in the union are wise enough to enact laws and social welfare benefits so that everyone will have good medical care, education, safety and protection in their homes, and on and on.

It hasn't worked that way, unfortunately, and every social welfare gain Americans have come to enjoy has been won at the cost of enormous struggle and even death, with all those who try to retain their wealth and privilege using the power of the press and other media they have owned — as well as the judges and courts and laws and police that they have for the most part controlled — to retard or forestall that progress.

That those reactionary forces have been able to distort the thinking of good folks such as yourself, so that you become their servants, and help them to retain their privileged positions, instead of recognizing where your real interests lie, is, I think, terribly sad.

NOW.... (on just one of the points I raised), instead of simply accusing Social Security of being a "giant Ponzi scheme," how's about ANSWERING THE QUESTION: Do you want it to be dismantled? Would you rather NOT get Social Security benefits when they are due to you?

AND, if your answer is YES, what would you propose to replace it, to guarantee old age security for people when they retire?

I responded later to the Social Security Question:

It can't be dismantled because people have grown dependent upon it. That is how socialism works. Get the people hooked and it can't be taken away. As for me, I refuse to depend on it, and have been working on creating enough of a retirement for myself and my wife to not need the government program.

As for the rest:

Strong centralized federal government control is never a good idea. The Constitution was written to limit the size of the federal government, and was a very wise thing to do. Such thinking has resulted in the U.S. being a very prosperous nation for over 200 years. Systems as you propose have failed over and over for a reason. Liberty over government control, and a free market over government mandates. I believe in individualism, not collectivism - and I believe that way because of THINKING.

Dan then became apologetic, because remember, Liberals are sometimes terribly afraid to offend, and then goes on to distort history as the Left loves to do:

I sincerely apologize for suggesting that you weren't thinking. What I should have said is that you've let a lot of wrongheaded and distorted ideas INFLUENCE your thinking.

You point out that the U.S. has been a "very prosperous nation for over 200 years." Indeed it has. WITH a centralized federal government, mind you. But also with a lot of powers relegated to the states; powers that for years prevented (and in many cases continue to prevent) real progress for their citizens, because many states still have backward thinking governments in power.

The Constitution was framed as it was during the late 1700s because of very PARTICULAR conditions prevailing at the time of its adoption — not because the framers were opposed to a strong central government. The country had just come out of a revolutionary war, if you'll recall. Even getting the various territories that became states to hang together on BEHALF of that revolution was an enormous task. One third of the people living then were in favor of separating from England. Another third were in favor of remaining WITH England. And the final third didn't give a damn. That's history.

You also had the southern half of the country owning slaves. You had all kinds of different local and regional demands that had to be adjudicated in order for there to be cooperation. So compromises were made. In fact, if you'll recall, the division of certain rights to the federal government and certain rights to the states was called "The Great Compromise." If they had not had the problems they did during that period, there would have been no reason to UNITE the states, and thus name the country, THE UNITED STATES. There would probably have been no states, in fact, just one nation, with different departments or regions (like we have here in France... a strong central government, but also with lots of local autonomy in certain areas.)

Which system with strong central governments are you talking about that have failed? Sure, you can name a few.... Russia under Stalin, Germany under Hitler.... In terms of overall quality of life (which includes, of course, prosperity of the citizens), the latest ratings for the world's top countries are (from the best on down, and all of which, including the US, have been going strong, in spite of their many problems)....

Norway, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, France (was #1 until recently, but has slipped because of high unemployment), Switzerland, Japan, Luxembourg, Finland, United States (#13), Austria, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Liechtenstein, New Zealand. And guess what? ALL (except the U.S.) have one strong central government, and ALL (except the U.S. have strong, government-run health plans.

And who is THE highest rated country or countries in the world in terms of literacy? One guess: Cuba, Estonia and Poland (a tie for first). Second? Barbados, the tiny all black island in the Caribbean. (The US is #17). All with strong, centralized federal governments. (And yes, Cuba is still dictatorial).

Who is top rated in the world for health care? Now it's Japan (used to be France)... then come Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, France, Finland, Germany, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, UK, Denmark, and .... ta da..... the U.S. (#16... and some rankings put the US as #37 !) Again, ALL with strong, centralized federal governments.

You want me to go on? I can if you like, but I think you get the idea.

If you want to have a genuine discussion, Doug, that would be fine with me. But you'd need to offer me reasoned thinking and examples, not just a series of catch phrases and vague platitudes, like "Strong centralized federal government is never a good idea."

----Well, time constraints don't give me a lot of time to respond to each individual point, so I responded to the ones that barked the loudest, keeping in mind to address the rest later:

The difference is that you believe in social welfare benefits, and I don't. I believe the individual should be the navigator of their lives. I believe that when government is given the kind of power that you suggest they should have, human nature dictates that those in power will become corrupt with that power, and the citizens will become complacent because of their dependency on government. The elitists in government become more powerful, and the citizen loses liberty - and actually do not mind because they think the government is taking care of them. We are all created equal, but what we do with what we have, the breaks we get, et cetera, is very different, and some will emerge as more successful as others. If those that were not successful don't like it, in a free society they have the option to keep trying. Such is the beauty of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I do not believe the U.S. Constitution is outdated, or was written only for the circumstances of revolution. Limiting government's size and power is an ageless necessity, learned by the founding fathers from studying history. They took five months to write the document, so it was not a willy-nilly endeavor. Following it, we have prospered as the greatest nation on Earth for 233 years - so why would we want to change the American Form of Government? In fact, our biggest problems arise out of too much government interference.

State sovereignty is important because the state governments are more local to the people. Who better to govern local issues than local government? Why would I want a faceless bureaucrat in Washington making decisions about my region that he does not understand?

As for Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, I hear this a lot from liberals. Funny thing is, I have no idea what those two say. Glenn Beck comes on at 2pm while I am at work, and 11pm while I am asleep. Rush is on from 9-12, also during which time I work. Therefore, I do not get the opportunity to hear what they say. I occassionally catch bits here and there, or see a You Tube, for for the most part, I don't catch their shows. Also, I watch very little, if any, television. So I don't watch the other voices either. I get all of my news from the local papers, LA Times, NY Times, internet, and my military friends and family. I have studied the U.S. Constitution extensively, and I spend a lot of time reading my Bible, and historical documents like Madison's Notes on the U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and books written by the folks that are guests on my radio show. My opinion is my own, and I derive all of my thoughts based on the facts that I gather.

As for the centralized government, it became moreso after 1913, and that is a part of what brought about the Great Depression. Then, FDR came along and forced his New Deal on the people, and the policies of FDR extended the depression. Many believe it was the war that pulled us out of the depression, but it was really the entreprenurial spirit of the American People after the war that did it. A Free Market Capitalistic Economy, when left alone by government, always produces prosperity.

During Carter, many of what is going on today was in force, and we wound up in a deep recession. Reagan's tax cuts and policies that reduced the burden on business pulled us out of the recession, and resulted in a prosperous period that lasted all the way through Clinton's years. The Democrats demonized Bush for the recent downturn, but if you look at it, during Bush's years consumer spending was up, the unemployment rate was breaking records below 5%, and despite an attack on the U.S. in 2001 (which normally would cause economic hardships), we prospered. The downturn resulted in decades of liberal policies, and government intervention in the markets through the GSE's and the CRA of 1977.

In 2004 Barney Frank and Maxine Waters, among other liberals, were arguing Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae can't fail when Bush and the Congressional Republicans were calling for new regulations, and warning that a mortgage crisis was on the horizon. Then, when the crisis happened, the Democrats blamed it on the Republicans, and sheep like the Obama voters believed it. If anyone parrots the media, it is the Democrat voters.

I appreciate your opinion, and I knew when I responded we would disagree. After all, you were heavily influenced by your father's politics. But if Marxist ideology is so good, why does it fail every time it is tried? Part of the answer is that it doesn't take into consideration human nature. Rather than being punished for succeeding, and rewarded for failure, humanity wishes to be incentivized. Taxing the rich and handing out welfare is punishing success and rewarding failure. Instead, why don't we back government off of businesses, create incentives for the poor to become more involved, and to work, and remove the over-regulation on businesses so that they can grow, which would result in a greater movement of products, and a creation of jobs?

Socialized medicine, cap and trade, and other liberal policies remove choice from the individual - and that means less liberty. In my opinion, that is not what America stands for. Folks like you criticize America's past, as if it embarrasses you. It is as if America's exceptionalism bothers you.

I see America as Reagan did - a shining beacon of freedom on the hill, for all to take advantage of if only they are willing to pursue it with hard work, and the American Spirit.

--- and there is still more to come.

Oh, and to answer another question that may be on a few minds, those dozen of you liberal readers of Political Pistachio that think every time I write about "that liberal" I am not usually talking about you. Your arrogance and narcissism is only surpassed by the liberals in power.

Obama Warns About U.S. Debt

By Douglas V. Gibbs

It's the biggest set-up in history. Create debt, devalue the dollar, and then warn against doing so.

Is Obama sucking up to the Chinese, our biggest debtor?

Obama gave a warning about the need to contain rising U.S. deficits, saying that if government debt were to pile up too much, it could lead to a double-dip recession.
The unemployment rate at 10.2 percent is too high, and Obama is trying to figure out how to boost the economy, encourage job creation, reduce the deficit, and spend like a crazed politician all at the same time.

I have had nightmares that made more sense than this.

Be ready for hefty tax increases that will produce less revenue than expected because of further killing the economy.

And just in time for Christmas.

By next year we will all be a bunch of Tiny Tims and Bob Cratchets.

Mammograms from 40 to 50 is the first sign of rationalized health care

By Douglas V. Gibbs

A federal medical panel recommended this week against routine mammograms for women younger than 50. Their line of thinking is that it is not worth subjecting some patients to unnecessary biopsies, radiation and stress.

The American Cancer Association disagrees. The highest risk group for breast cancer is women between 40 and 50.

The independent panel, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, also recommended against teaching women to do regular self-exams and concluded that there is insufficient evidence to recommend that doctors do exams.

So they would rather wait until the cancer is set in before looking?

Could this be preparation for health care rationing that is inevitable should Obama's health care bill pass?

I wonder if later they will determine that breast cancer discovered in women in their 50s will cost too much to operate on because the women have lived past their years of productivity in the eyes of the government?

Welcome to socialized medicine where the cost to the government is more important than whether you live or die.

Barack Obama: Breaker of Campaign Promises

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Unrest has erupted among the Democrat Party base because their leftist champion, Barack Obama, can't seem to get anything done. His campaign promises have been either broken, or not fulfilled. One of the big ones, closing Guantanamo Bay, has been put off, and put off, and now, will be put off past the first of the year.

He "hopes" to close the facility sometime next year, but can't guarantee it.

No "change" there.

Obama is claiming that the process, and decision, is "hard."

Welcome to the presidency, panty-waste. This isn't some community organizer function where you just get a lot of folks to sit around talking over milk and cookies. Being president is a big people job, and the inexperienced, childlike Obama just can't hang. He is in way over his head, and he knows it.

Being a radical, surrounded by a bunch of hard-left radicals, doesn't help, either.

But, it could be worse.

It would be much worse if he "was" getting it done in relation to his crazy, irresponsible campaign promises.

Idaho's New Congressional Districts

I write for a small newspaper in Idaho, the Central Idaho Post. The editor sent me the following, and I thought I'd share it with you.

-------------

Idaho's "new" Congressional districts

November 17, 2009 posted by Jay Howell in

government spending

stimulus

In addition to the money that Idaho has received under the federal stimulus plan, the state was apparently awarded a number of additional congressional districts…34 to be exact!

According to Recovery.gov, which bills itself as “the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending and allows for the reporting of potential fraud, waste, and abuse”, Idaho has been awarded $1,216,341,830 under the stimulus plan, which has to date “created or saved” 2,103 jobs. This is spread out over Idaho’s 36 congressional districts.

Wait a second…but Idaho only has two congressional districts, right? Any grade schooler studying Idaho civics can tell you that, but the folks at Recovery.gov apparently can’t. According to the site, stimulus funds went to Idaho’s 00th, 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 19th, 28th and 35th congressional districts. 1st and 2d districts aside, we find $3.9 million went to non-existent Idaho districts, where 39.2 phony jobs were “created or saved”.

According to watchdog.org, a total of 440 “phantom districts” nationwide were awarded $6.4 billion in order to “create or save” 30,000 phony jobs. Among some of the more interesting findings in the article is that North Dakota now has 99 congressional districts, and South Carolina’s 7th district received more than $27 million in stimulus funds, despite being retired in 1930.

A spokesman for the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board blamed faulty data from stimulus money recipients for the erroneous job “creation or salvation” numbers. So, all this begs the question, can we trust the government to tell us the truth about how our tax dollars are being spent under the stimulus plan?

The Idaho Freedom Foundation contacted Rep. Mike Simpson (R – 2d District) for his reaction. “This is a situation in which I am disappointed to be proven correct—I opposed the stimulus package because I didn’t think adding nearly a trillion dollars to our deficit would help our economy, and now we find that the data the Administration is putting out about the so-called ‘success’ of the bill is completely wrong,” said Simpson. “This is a prime example of what happens when government bureaucracy tries to justify itself. If a business put out this type of misinformation, it would be called fraud. With the Democrats planning to pass to bring up another stimulus bill before the end of the year, we need accurate information about what works—and what doesn’t work—to improve our economy.”

We asked Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) for his reaction to the story, and he gave us this statement, “The facts stated are clearly false, unreliable and should come as no surprise since unemployment rates are the highest in decades. As I said when the stimulus passed, this bill was nothing more than a wish list of pet projects and massive spending that has done little to quickly assist our economy and the families who still desperately need help. While a very limited number of infrastructure projects were appropriate, clearly they have not accomplished what the President promised. I strongly opposed the stimulus bill, I voted against it and I stand by that vote.”

Lael Brainard: Obama's Next Tax Cheat Choice

From NetRightNation.com:

It appears that the Obama Administration has hit yet another tax road block with one of its top appointments. Lael Brainard, Obama's choice to become the Treasury Undersecretary of International Affairs, has a tax problem. In short, she conveniently forgets to pay them.
In 2005, 2006 and 2007 she filed late tax returns. The discrepancies resulted in over $13,000 dollars coming into question.

Ms. Brainard is the fifth Obama appointment to come under scrutiny over critical tax issues, following Timothy Geithner, Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer and Kathleen Sebelius. Tax issues seem to have become part and parcel of the Obama appointment agenda.

Despite Ms. Brainard's track record as a tax cheat, Senator Max Baucus, the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has recommended her approval, no questions asked. But, Republican Senators should not be so quick to overlook behavior that has landed average, work-a-day Americans in the IRS cauldron.

Members of the Minority should be placing holds on Ms. Brainaird in light of her dodging questions about her questionable tax history nine seperate times. She has proven to be unworthy of the trust needed to be in such an office -- and it's time the GOP makes certain this is one cheater who doesn't win.Read the story at NetRightNation.com.

Obama Exposes Himself to be the idiot he is in China

By Douglas V. Gibbs

First, when asked to discuss the prospect of arms sales to Taiwan, fearful I am sure to give an answer that might upset the Chinese, Obama said the U.S. favored "dialogue and negotiations."

Hmmm, is another beer summit on the horizon?

His response left the impression that America is going to leave Taiwan high and dry, placing Taiwan in a precarious position.

Then, Obama talked down about the United States, and offended the Chinese all at the same time.

Obama: "It's very important for the United States not to assume that what is good for us is automatically good for somebody else. We have to have some modesty about our attitudes towards other countries. We think it's important nevertheless to be true to our ideals and our values. And we... When we do so, though, we will always do so with the humility and understanding that we are not perfect and that we still have much progress to make. Uh, if you talk to women in America, they will tell you that there are still men who have a lot of old-fashioned ideas about the role of women in society."

There are still men that want to keep their women barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen? Is that what he is trying to say? Sure, some folks like myself believe the children are better off with mama holding the fort at home, but she's free to do what she wants. My wife, for example, has five collegiate degrees, worked many jobs, and then chose to be a stay at home mom because (gasp) she believed it to be best for the children.

She plans to re-enter the workforce in the near future.

Also, think about this: He's also pushing human rights on a nation that has no cares about human rights. Now, I am not arguing that we shouldn't make them aware of their human rights violations in the past, but Obama is literally talking down to the Chinese. Think about it. He is demonizing America for not giving women the rights they deserve (which is not true, women are contributing to the full force when they so desire) to a country that aborts their female babies in preference of males.

Of course, deep down, Obama has affection for the Chinese, because their communist system is an advanced version of what Obama is trying to initiate in the United States at this very moment.

Newsweek Leads the Attack Against Sarah Palin

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In a few words: Would this have sat well if it were against someone like Hillary Clinton?

The Leftist Media is on the war path, and Sarah Palin is their quarry.

They are doing whatever they can to demonize her as being bad for America - because conservatism is what can disarm the leftist agenda, and that scares the crap out of them.

They say she's bad news for everyone. But if they are not worried about her, and she is such bad news, then why spend so much time attacking her?

Could it be that in reality the Left is scared to death of a strong, grass roots, conservative like Sarah Palin?

What is really shocking is the liberals have always been about feminism, and women's rights, but then here comes an independent woman who is politically popular, and suddenly the power of woman isn't such a good thing.

Maybe it's because she likes to hunt.

Palin from the beginning

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I remember right before John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate that a liberal blogger in the comment section of Political Pistachio asked me who I thought would be McCain's pick. My immediate response would have been Sarah Palin. However, the question did not ask me who I thought should be picked as the vice presidential running mate, but who I thought McCain would pick. At the time I thought McCain was too moderate to pick a conservative like Palin as his running mate, and I also didn't think he was bright enough to choose the Alaskan dynamo. Therefore, in response, I said "I do not know."

Political Pistachio was talking about Sarah Palin being the best choice for vice president before anyone really knew who she was outside of Alaska. On July 13, 2007 I made my first mention of her. I later discussed the possibility of Sarah Palin being picked as the running mate of whoever won the Republican Nomination on July 28th of that year. On September 30th of 2007 I made a recommendation for her to be vice president, again. I made mention of her regularly after that, and when McCain chose Palin as his running mate the number of Emails and phone calls I received regarding my prediction of it was amazing.

Now, with the release of her book, "Going Rogue," Palin is as popular as ever. But one may ask, what was it that made me choose her as my choice for vice president way back during the summer of 2007?

Sarah Palin is the first true Reagan Conservative to emerge in a long time. She holds to the basic principles of conservatism. Sarah Palin understands the necessity of a strong military to defend this nation against the many evils this world has to offer. Palin recognizes the importance of the free market, tax cuts, and limiting the federal government in all aspects of our lives. She understands that in order to let go of our foreign dependence of oil, we must drill domestically. And the list goes on and on. But ultimately, her real appeal is the fact that she is not your run-of-the-mill politician with the sludge of the political cess-pool running through her veins. Palin is real. She is a genuine wife and mother who entered politics to make a difference, and the text of her book reveals the truth of her genuine character.

"Going Rogue" spends about a dozen pages on personal matters, and setting the record straight regarding her time with the McCain campaign. As conservatives recognized during the campaign, she admits to being essentially gagged by the McCain campaign, not allowed to express herself, or to allow her conservative wings to reach outward. McCain had the erroneous belief that being more like the Democrats could win the election, and the strategy was a doomed turkey from the beginning. The nation does not need two leftist parties.

Palin's book was Amazon's number one seller before it was released. Getting one's hands on a copy is difficult, because it is in great demand. It is one of the best books on conservatism I have read in a long time, yet the leftist commentators that are berating the book are focusing on the dozen pages of personal commentary.

It is comical watching the leftist media freak out over this book, trying to attack it, and her, in any way they can. Most leftists say they welcome the likes of Palin, because they believe conservatism is a losing ticket. But if that is the case, then why the attacks? Why are the leftists so frightened of her, and in a panic to do whatever they can to discredit her and her book?

I believe deep down the hard left knows that conservatives like Palin is what can bring them down, and end their reign of socialism. They are very afraid of her, and they should be, because Sarah Palin is one of the factors in the awakening of the sleeping giant of conservatism.

That is why Obama, and the Congressional Democrats, have been working so hard to pass their programs as fast as possible. They know that their time is limited, and America is ready for real change . . . a change back to Reagan Conservatism, and the founding principles of the United States Constitution.

Whether or not Sarah Palin will be the conservative to lead that charge is yet to be seen.

Battle of the Comments over Obama's Bow to Japan's Emperor Akihito

In case you don't read the comments section, an interesting debate has developed between me, and an ignorant leftist:

Yes.. I'm the crazy one for not making such a huge deal about Obama doing the traditional gesture of respect to a foreign leader.. who happens to be an ally.

Yes, it was probably more dramtic than Nixon's or Eisenhower's similar gestures, but then Obama is taller and goofed on doing two different cultural signs of respect at the same time.

I get it.. I really do. Everyone else thinks it's ridiculously over blown and meaningless, but Doug knows how truly treasonous it is.

And again.. I offer you pictures of President George Bush holding hands with actual Islamic "royalty", and that's just peachy?

Trutn is.. I don't think Bush did anything at all out of place when he did that. Holding hands is a custom and sign of friendlyness to the Saudi culture. It wasn't a big deal at all, and actually a nice sign of humanity. I'd imagine your head would explode if Obama did similar.

That we're even debating this is, in my mind, really bizare.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were told throughout Obama's campaign that he is a man of international flavor who understands the world and its various cultures better than any president in the past. We were told Obama was intelligent and articulate. Then, he goofs up a bow so bad that it is embarrassing to the country (shaking hands and bowing simultaineously), and submissive in nature. I understand that Japan is an ally, and it is not the symbolism to Japan directly that is the concern, but to the worldwide community, in relation to Obama's belief in globalism. Bush was also a globalist, so many of his questionable foreign relations activities did not surprise me. And yes, if Bush had done what Obama has done, I would have been all over it, just like I was all over it (in my personal writings and submissions to newspapers at the time) when Daddy Bush used the words "New World Order." And I could care less what their intentions were if they were, as you seem to think, honorable. The real debate here, then, is motivation. Did Obama bow as a sign of American subservience, or to be culturally sensitive (though he botched it badly)? I submit that all of Obama's motivations, if you pick apart his policies and actions, are to compromise the U.S. position as a super power, and to manipulate opinion for an eventual destruction of American sovereignty as he forces the U.S. into a global governance system headed by either the U.N., or a similar organization. I also think that Obama believes he will somehow be a part of this new world order - not for America, but for himself.

Obama's Treason and Democrat's Desired Economic Crisis

By Douglas V. Gibbs

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't before." - White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, November 2008.

"Never waste a good crisis." - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, March 2009.

The Democrats love a good crisis. It is during a time of crisis that they receive the opportunity to put into place their policies that freedom-loving Americans would never allow otherwise. When the economic downturn began last year the Democrats were nearly beside themselves with excitement. Their eight years of demonizing Bush and the GOP received the gift of an economic crisis, and the leftists of the Democrat Party was not about to let it go to waste.

With Congress under Democrat control since 2006, and the White House occupied by a radical, hard-left, Marxist, student of Saul Alinsky, the liberals have succeeded in pushing the U.S. Economy further towards collapse, and further towards government control. Their agenda driven goal is to eliminate the private sector, and to place the U.S. economy under government-managed control.

The most amazing part of the hard-left's socialistic assault on America is that they are not taking great care in hiding their intentions, and are often blurting out their intentions, as shown in the quotes at the top of this article.

With the assistance of the biased media, who is unwilling to expose the Obama Administration, and Congressional Democrats, for the liberty-killers that they are, the American People bought into the deception, and looked right past the obvious. The propaganda machine has been relentless, even enlisting the sheep-like minds of leftist bloggers to help mount an attack against any who dare to voice dissent.

A crisis, to the leftists, is an opportunity, and in the wake of our current economic difficulties, Obama and gang are manipulating the economic crisis into a tool for transition toward their globalist goals.

Treason is defined as "the betrayal of one's country." Though not as blatant as Benedict Arnold's treason, or the treason of a former spy selling government secrets, Obama's actions of betrayal against America are no less treasonous.

Yesterday, The U.K. Telegraph linked to Political Pistachio, saying: "At least one blogger went as far as to call the president’s actions treasonous'," in reference to a post I wrote the other day. But the British site, and the liberals, miss the point that it is not only the bow alone that is treasonous. The bow to Akihito, and to the Saudi Prince earlier this year, are symptoms of the treason. Obama and the Democrats are attempting to change the American Form of Government into a socialist model not compatible with our founding principles. And their attempt to change our form of government is not only to enable the United States to become a socialist nation, but to compromise its sovereignty, and force her into a globalistic system.

His actions, including his bow, are designed to represent America's subservience to the rest of the world, and the global system taking shape. He has apologized to the world for America's exceptionalism, he has promised to disarm us, and he bows as the representative of America to monarchs as a symbol of America's submission, subservience, and servitude to the coming world order.

If that isn't betrayal of one's country, I don't know what is - making the leftists an entire collective of traitors.

Obama Health Care Bill Not A Sure Thing To The U.S. Senate

By Douglas V. Gibbs

When Obamacare narrowly passed the House of Representatives the Democrats danced and sang and claimed the passage of the Health Care Bill in the U.S. Senate was a sure thing. Obama celebrated as if the bill's passage through the U.S. Senate was simply a formality.

The U.S. Senate, however, is not looking so sure after all. Perhaps they have been scrutinizing the bill a little more closely.

According to the Heritage Foundation, the Democrat's Health Care bill will cause health care costs to increase, millions will lose their existing private coverage, millions will pay fines for not having insurance and then will remain uncovered, millions of senior citizens will lose their beloved Medicare Advantage, millions will be forced into the welfare system, access to care by senior citizens will be jeopardized, access to services by the poor will be interfered with, and taxes will be paid by everyone to fund the program.

The Washington Post calls the plan a "$300 Billion Deception."

President Obama is out of touch, as is the rest of the Democrats, and they could care less what the people want. Their primary focus is to pass their agenda driven policies any way they can, despite the voice of the people, or the U.S. Constitution.

The U.S. Senate may not be so fast to oblige.

The Senate recognizes the voice of the people, recognize the blatant contradictions within the bill, are aware of the dangerous provisions, and the deception. There are enough Blue Dog Democrats to stop the Health Care Bill - and if the bill does not pass the U.S. Senate, the growing civil war within the Democrat Party will be in full force.

Obama's Copenhagen Climate Change Retreat

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Associated Press has proclaimed that Barack Obama is retreating from the "importance" of the upcoming Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen that is planned to take place in December. The worldwide global warming treaty that is anticipated by the globalists to take place at that time is looking less and less like a reality, it seems. The final nails in the coffin were apparently driven into place when President Obama, and a few other socialist world leaders, verbalized that the creation of a treaty is "unrealistic" at this time, especially considering the fact that the United States hasn't even been able to pass the ever-dangerous Cap and Trade legislation themselves. This comes not too long after Gordon Brown of Britain had proclaimed that the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen is Earth's last chance, but nonetheless, the big treaty will have to wait. . .

But don't you believe it!

The hopes of the world's leftists are that next year in Mexico City they will be able to hammer out a treaty that will work for the worldwide community, and enslave the final vestiges of liberty.

If the Climate Change Treaty really is suffering, and being delayed, once must ask "why?" Could it be that the redistribution of wealth from the richer nations to the poorer developing nations that is planned by the treaty writers is causing distrust among the participants? Could it be that a team of scientists sending a letter to the U.S. Senate claiming that the "consensus" in the scientific community is a lie (the Left lies about everything else, why not the so-called "consensus" too?), has the globalists a little skittish about proceeding? Could the retreat be partially due to the fact that the evidence is mounting that global warming is a hysteria fueled hoax, and therefore making the worldwide leaders pushing a climate change agenda obvious liars?

Whatever the cause of the slowdown, it is not enough. Any international treaty regarding global warming needs to be stopped cold, because the intent is to place in the hands of an international governing body the reins of a nation's energy usage, manufacturing, and ultimately compromising a nation's sovereignty.

The truth is that man-made global warming doesn't exist. The warming and cooling trends of the planet are a natural phenomenon. The increase of carbon levels do not cause warming trends, but instead warming trends cause carbon levels to increase.
Therefore, carbon emissions do not cause global warming.

As for the human contribution of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere, our measly less-than-one-percent addition is too small to have any effect, anyway.

As with all other leftist policies and beliefs, human caused global warming ranks among the greatest deceptions in the history of science. Time is being wasted and money is being foolishly poured into an unnecessary fear and hysteria that has no scientific justification. The driving force, in fact, behind Climate Change has nothing to do with the environment, but is really all about power and corruption.

And don't forget, these are the same people during the hippie period of the early 1970s that were claiming global cooling was the biggest threat, and a fact.

The next Ice Age, they claimed, was coming, and it was all man's fault.

The Earth was cooling during that time period, just as it warmed for a short period recently. But the changes in climate fall within natural explanations that revolve around changes in the sun.

As for Obama's retreat from a Climate Change Treaty? Take it with a grain of salt. These globalists are simply regrouping because they realize the cat is out of the bag, and their hoax has been exposed. They will use specially chosen language to change the truth, and try again - because their global agenda is at the top of their agenda list, and they will force you into it with any deception they can - unless we continue to speak up, question, and demand government to serve the people, rather than enslave the people.

Democrats Lie About Job Creation, Create Fake Districts

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Surprised the Leftists got caught in a lie? I'm not. The Left is all about lies, deception, and forcing their agenda on you whether you like it or not (Just ask San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom). They can't win in the arena of ideas, so they resort to devious methods and strong arm tactics.

Case in point: ABC reported today that the Obama Administration's claim they created a bunch of jobs is not only faulty, but a blatant untruth.

The foul-up regarding the leftist claim of stimulus success of job creation by the Democrats is being sold as simply human error. Someone messed up, and the wrong information got put out.

If that was the truth, then the first question should be: And you want to trust these Administrative Geniuses with health care, Cap and Trade, and all of their other big government policies?

The lame-brain Democrats can't even make sure there is enough H1N1 Vaccines to go around after declaring a National Emergency (it's all about image and deception, remember), nor could they administer the tiny little Cash for Clunkers program properly.

I suppose it could be a case of a simple mistake if there were only a couple of isolated events. But, that is not what happened. District after district allegedly received money, and is listed by the Obama Administration as being a location of job creation. Problem is, the districts don't exist!

The list from ABC News is as follows:

Arizona's 15th congressional district: 30 jobs saved or created, $761,420 in federal stimulus spending.

There is no 15th district. Arizona only has eight districts.

There's no 86th congressional district in Arizona either, but the government's recovery.gov Web site says $34 million in stimulus money has been spent there.

In fact, Recovery.gov lists hundreds of millions spent and hundreds of jobs created in congressional districts that don't exist.

Oklahoma: $19 million in spending, 15 jobs created, in congressional districts that don't exist.

Iowa: $10.6 million spent, 39 jobs created, in non-existent districts.

Connecticut: 42nd district, 25 jobs created with zero stimulus dollars, but the district does not exist.

The list of spending and job creation in fictional congressional districts extends to U.S. territories as well.

U.S. Virgin Islands: $68.3 million spent, and 72.2 million spent in the 1st congressional district of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

$8.4 million spent and 40.3 jobs created in the 99th congressional district of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

$1.5 million spent and .3 jobs created in the 69th district and $35 million for 142 jobs in the 99th district of the Northern Mariana Islands.

$47.7 million spent and 291 jobs created in Puerto Rico's 99th congressional district.

None of these districts exist.

Just a simple mistake? Doubtful. As usual, the deception and lies of the Democrats run rampant, but this time, somebody checked up on them, and caught them red-handed, and now new lies of "human error" are being spun to cover up the other lies.

Lies on top of lies on top of lies on top of lies. Leftists are liars, and are willing to lie about anything to get their policies passed - because if you understood the reality of their policies, they would have never won the election. Obama won on lies by Democrats, by ACORN, and by the media.

Lies. Deception. Erroneous numbers. And these are the folks telling us that Obama is wildly popular according to "their" numbers, 47 million are without health care (that would be 1 in 6), 95% of Americans were going to get a tax cut (then they allowed Bush's tax cuts expire), and they are now trying to tell us that we are coming out of the recession (despite double digit unemployment, depressed consumer spending, and a shaky credit market). Remember, also, that these same folks proclaimed we were in a recession under Bush when the unemployment rate was under 5%, consumer spending was vibrant, and the credit market was still holding itself together. As for the the mortgage collapse, remember that the real estate market self-destructed largely as a result of liberal government intervention, and could have been averted in 2003/2004, but Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, and the idiot liberal Democrat clan scoffed at the thought that Freddie and Fannie could fail - and then after the GSEs did failh, the Democrats promptly blamed its collapse on Bush and the GOP.

Socialists. Liars. Post-American Mentality.

Their deceptive tactics are catching up to them, and the American People are waking up to the lies and traitorous tactics of the liberal left.

As for all that stimulus money that went to fake districts, one wonders where the money really went. i think the stimulus is simply a slush fund for the Democrats to spend at will on whatever they wish. After all, isn't that what the Democrat voter base believes anyway? The stimulus money is just a part of Obama's Stash, right Leftists?

They won't admit the truth. In fact, when I offered to a leftist recently to listen to one of my radio programs so that he may receive an answer to his questions, he refused to. Why? Could it be because these people would rather continue to wallow in the lies, rather than be exposed to the truth?

I bet any liberal reader of this article won't watch the video's referenced below, either.

Truth and Conservatism is just too much for these anti-American socialists to handle.

ACORN Sues American Federal Government For Cutting Funding

By Douglas V. Gibbs

File this one under "You've got to be kidding me."

ACORN, Obama's favorite Community Organizers who got caught giving tax advice to a couple they thought was a pimp and his hooker, have filed a lawsuit with the Brooklyn Federal Court. The lawsuit hopes to lift the funding ban of federal monies that went into effect in part because of the embarassing scandal they suffered at the hands of a couple of young filmmakers in which ACORN staffers were captured on camera at several offices nationwide advising the pair posing as a pimp and prostitute to hide their income.

The legal counsel for ACORN is arguing that the Community Organizer group's rights were violated by the cut in federal funding because the money was halted before the investigation into ACORN's activities was completed.

It is unconstitutional for the federal government to hand out money to individual groups like ACORN in the first place, so how could it be that their constitutional rights were violated by the funding being stopped if they weren't supposed to be getting the funding in the first place?

The lawyer for ACORN went on to say that "It's not the job of Congress to be the judge, jury and executioner."

Once again, looking to the U.S. Constitution, the Congressional purse strings can be pulled tight at any time by Congress should they see fit. Congress' decision to stop funding to an organization, of which it was unconstitutional to be giving money in the first place, is their call. If the lawyer, for argument's sake, was right and the job of Congress was not to stop funding, then who does he believe has that kind of decision? The courts?

Talk about a drive for a judicial oligarchy.

According to the suit, unless the ban is lifted, the Brooklyn-based office may soon be forced to lay off housing and loan counselors and staff.

I suppose they should have thought about that before engaging in illegal and unethical activities. . . which go way beyond the latest scandal, and all the way back to the election of Barack Obama.

Obama and Democrats Placing Americans in Danger With New York City Trial for 9/11 Terrorists

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Associated Press calls it A risky setting for NYC trial of 9/11 suspects. I believe that moving the trial of the masterminds of 9/11 to a Civilian Court setting from that of a Military Tribunal at Guantanamo Bay is irresponsible, and shows what a disgrace the Obama Administration truly is.

The idea of trying the 9/11 suspects in New York City, in a court house that was covered in the ashes of the fallen World Trade Center that used to stand only blocks away, is insane. These terrorists penetrated battle lines and waged war within the U.S. borders. This makes the Islamic Jihadists war criminals, guilty of an Act of War. As a result, the U.S. Constitution does not apply to these terrorists. These men are also members of a terror group that have no national connections, no uniform, no insignia, and do not play by the rules of war. Therefore, the Geneva Convention Treaty does not even apply to these murderous Muslims.

From a legal perspective, how do the Democrats expect to be able to find 12 unbiased jurists? That alone will enable the defense to request a change of venue, and will open up the opportunity for a number of legal challenges that will not stop until they find a liberal judge that will dismiss the case on the grounds that the terrorist suspects did not receive a speedy trial, or that they were water boarded, or that they were not read their Miranda Rights, or some other unconstitutional, moronic excuse.

And what about the fact that this will also be placing the lives of Americans at risk? Muslims around the world went crazy when a Danish cartoonist dared to make a cartoon that showed Muhammad in a less than favorable light. What do you think will happen if a judge treats the case as it should be, or jurists find these men guilty? Al-Qaeda will target anyone (and their families) who dares to do anything other than appease the Muslims, and let the terrorists free. And even then, they will be in danger.

The Democrats did not learn from history. Bill Clinton treated the 1993 World Trade Center attack as a criminal action, rather than an act of war, and the result was the attack on the USS Cole, Embassy Bombings, and ultimately, the attacks on 9/11. However, after 9/11, George W. Bush treated the attacks as an Act of War, and he took war measures as he placed this country on war footing against the ideology behind the act of war against America on 9/11. As a result, there were no successful attacks against the United States during his two terms.

Now, as Obama reveals himself as weak, and an appeaser, we have already had a terrorist attack against America - specifically, the recent attack by an Islamic Jihadist at Fort Hood.

Obama's mentality of appeasement, and idiotic moves such as the civilian court trials of the 9/11 suspects, is dangerous, and is imposing risk against American lives.

Israel and Jesus

To answer a question, once again, about my feelings regarding the salvation of Jews, I choose to provide a verse from the Holy Bible.

Romans 10:1-4 1 Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3 For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. 4 For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

Out of love I pray for all to seek the wisdom and salvation of Christ.

Obama's Bow To Emperor Akihito Ignorant and Treasonous

Barack Obama does not like America. Barack Obama especially does not like America's exceptionalism. Barack Obama is looking forward to completing his transormation of the world into a post-American international world order.

As long as America maintains a strong economy, and refuses to concede its position as a superpower, our standing as the most exceptional nation on Earth will remain.

Barack Obama believes that America needs to be knocked down a few notches. Our exceptional status is a sign of arrogance to him. Obama believes that no nation should claim to be better than another - all nations should practice global equity.

Evidence to all of my accusations is the fact that President Obama has bowed to two Monarchs. First, earlier this year, Obama bowed to a Saudi Prince. Last week he bowed to the Japanese Emperor. Note that Akihito did not bow back.

The argument by leftists is that Barack Obama was being culturally sensitive.

Bowing to Monarchs is a sign of subservience.

Of the 43 presidents prior to Barack Obama, none of them ever bowed to a Monarch, or to the leader of another nation.

As leader of the United States of America, Obama's bows to Monarchs symbolizes America's subservience to Islam and the Japanese Emperor. One may chalk it up to ignorance. He may simply not realize the severity of his actions. Or, Obama's actions are treasonous, lowering America's worldwide status, and handing us to the world on a silver platter.

I believe his actions were both ignorant, and treasonous.

Tonight, on the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution, I will be discussing Obama's bows to Monarchs, and the other things he has been doing to compromise America into a position of dependency on the rest of the world, and ultimately as a new member of the rising New World Order of global governance. The Lord Holds The Reins

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I believe that our lives are a direct result of the decisions we make. I believe prayer changes things, but that God is not like a genie in a bottle where you just go around asking Him for selfish things. God always answers prayer, but sometimes He says "no," and sometimes he says "wait." I used to believe God gave us nudges every once in a while, but for the most part stayed out of the way. With events of my recent life, however, I have realized He has both hands on the reins, and has been directly involved in my life.

As I seek Him, however, the world is turning away.

I found a great description of our current days in the book of 2 Timothy. The third chapter reads:

1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
6 They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of[a] vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. 7 (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) 8 These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. 9 But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres.

Sound familiar?

Obama: The President Who Never Works

By Douglas V. Gibbs

On the radio they were discussing how Barack Obama will be stopping by Alaska on his way to Asia, for his first presidential trip to that part of the world. He is the most traveled president, they were commenting, visiting 16 countries, so far, since the beginning of his presidency ten months ago.

If you will recall, last month it was reported that Obama's golf habit was also a record for a new president, with him having played more golf in his first nine months than Bush did during his entire two terms.

Since Obama is the most traveled president, and the most golfed president, it makes one wonder: "When is he ever in the Oval Office doing work?"

I guess that's what his henchmen (and women) are for, which means that Pelosi and Reid have more power than most people realize.

Typical Marxist Oligarchy: The many ruled by the few, and a figure-head that is not really worth much more than a few speeches, appearances, and golf games.

Obama Hiding From Commitment - Afghanistan

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Remember how when Barack Obama was a Senator and all he did was vote "present"? He did so because he didn't want to take a position, and then it come back to bite him later. Barack Obama is a hard left Marxist, but when he can, he tests the political winds, and is careful not to commit himself one way or another - just in case.

Afghanistan is no different for him.

I believe that Obama wants nothing more than to place a timetable on Afghanistan, and be out of the entire Middle East as soon as possible. However, he ran on the premise that Afghanistan is the good war, and that Iraq was the bad war, so he has a certain amount of obligation to remain in Afghanistan. He's torn between wanting to pull all out, and sticking to his campaign rhetoric.

Now, he is in a very difficult position, politically. His generals are asking for more troops, and he would like to listen to his military advisors because one of his greatest criticisms of Bush was that Dubya didn't listen to his generals. But, Obama does not agree with McChrystal and gang that Afghanistan should receive more troops. For politics-sake, he can't do the opposite, but he can't do what they want - so he does both.

In a sense, Obama is voting "present." He is not doing what his generals want, but is claiming that his strategy incorporates "the best elements" of the "proposals" he's been receiving.

It is funny, isn't it? The guy who claimed to be something different is politics as usual, more worried about his popularity than doing what he believes to be the right thing.

That makes him a coward that hides from commitment.

North Korea Threatens South

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As trouble erupts in Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and other Muslim nations, the other trouble spot, North Korea, has refused to remain silent. In the latest news across the Pacific Ocean, North Korea threatened South Korea with punishment for a skirmish between warships.

The event that led to the dispute occurred Tuesday when, after seven years of no clashes, the Koreas accused each other of violating border lines. The skirmish resulted in heavy damage to a North Korean ship, while the South Korean ships received little or no damage.

One North Korean officer is said to have been killed. No deaths were reported by the South.

North Korea has stated that the South will receive consequences for their actions, heating up an already fragile situation in that region.

Lou Dobbs Says "Goodbye" to CNN

By Douglas V. Gibbs

A plank owner is a service member that is a part of the crew of a ship when the vessel is commissioned. Lou Dobbs is a plank owner of the Cable News Network.

CNN launched in 1980, and Lou Dobbs was aboard from the beginning, only missing a two year stint from 1999 to 2000 after a disagreement with then CNN President Rick Kaplan.

Lou Dobbs has received a lot of praise and criticism for his views, but the ratings numbers don't lie. As a financial reporter he did well. As a political commentator his show outdraws Chris Matthews, and Campbell Brown. His desire to pursue new opportunities (one wonders if Fox News is on that list of opportunities) led him to make this decision, along with the desire to more freely express his opinions.

The writing was on the wall. As CNN and MSNBC has motored leftward at a high speed, it was only a matter of time before a non-radical like Lou Dobbs would jump off the sinking leftist ship.

One Last Thank You on Veteran's Day

Veteran's Day and a Roomful of Marines

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Considering my proximity to the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, I knew that when I went into a local restaurant for a Veteran's Day lunch being offered free of charge to active duty military and veterans, the place would be packed. The venue did not disappoint, and late lunch with my wife was also a late lunch with a roomful of proud United States Marines.

After a considerable period of time outside, our names were called, and my wife and I settled into a booth along a wall that gave me ample view of the entire restaurant. Tables of high and tight haircuts graced the room. The conversation was constant, and the faces were smiling. Some had just returned from overseas, while others were preparing to depart. They knew what was coming in the terms of the fight against terror, but they didn't care at that moment. Lunch with their brothers and sisters, both active and retired, was all that was important at that moment.

My wife was surprised, but I was not. A military man can hardly pass up an opportunity to join family with friends over a good meal - and Veteran's Day provided just the excuse.

For veterans like myself, however, Veteran's Day has a different flavor than it does for those on active duty. Active Duty Personnel see Veteran's Day as a day to thank those that went before them, and to prepare for what is ahead of them. Veterans, however, spend no time patting ourselves on the back. We are too much in awe of the fine young fighting force of today. As a veteran I sat at my table soaking in the stories, and shaking as many hands as possible. I removed my U.S. Navy Veteran hat for my meal, but proudly replaced it on my head as we walked out of the restaurant, nodding and winking at my new brothers and sisters - those ready to join those engaged in combat overseas.

America has thrived, and risen at a rate beyond past civilizations. As America has grown and prospered, our elite fighting force has made the speed bumps unnoticeable. Liberty has been protected, and has spread, thanks to the men and women serving past and present in the United States Armed Forces.

I felt honored to share the room with all of those Marines. I felt fortunate to be considered a part of the fraternity of fighting men and women. I felt blessed knowing that our freedoms are in the hands of those fine folks.

America is in good hands, as it has always been.

God Bless America, and God Bless the United States Military.

Money is not like Energy, How Democrats Are Destroying Our Economy

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As a kid you learned in science class that energy never increases or decreases in amount, it simply transfers. The sun provides energy for the plant to grow, then the energy transfers into the animal when the plant is eaten. Later the animal releases the energy in its activities, and waste. The waste, then, transfers the energy into the ground for the plant to use, and et cetera. So, the idea is, if energy increases in one location, somewhere else there is less energy.

The politicians, leftists of the Democrat Party in particular, seem to think that money is like energy. If someone becomes wealthy, then there must be somebody at the bottom doing without. Money, however, is not like energy. Someone becoming successful does not take away from somebody at the bottom. For each success there is not a non-success.

Money is created when value is created. When a car comes rolling off of an assembly line the value of that vehicle is added to the economy. With that additional value money increases as well. Therefore, what increases the wealth of a nation is production and manufacturing.

Opportunity arises in America because the ability to produce is available to all of its citizens. This is the point of conservatives; don't limit the successful, but make the opportunity for all to become successful available. With more success comes more jobs, and a vibrant economy. The goal, then, should be to make it as easy as possible for citizens to reach a level of success.

Government, and those that wield its power, seem to think that success is finite, and that such power should only belong to them. They have convinced the populace that all of those rich business people have taken away the money that belongs to the poor, and that anyone who makes a big profit is the enemy. What they don't get is that there is plenty of wealth and success to go around, if the government would just step out of the way and allow the free market to do its bidding.

The successful, also known as the wealthy, have figured out how to use the market to their advantage. As a result of their success, they have grown large businesses that add value to the economy through manufacturing, production, transporting, or providing goods. From their successes rises other businesses, like the service oriented ones. Through that process, in order to assist them in their endeavor of creating goods, or providing services, jobs are created. When the business grows, more value is fed into the economy, and more jobs are created. Successful people then become "economy builders" and "job creators."

Leftists have determined it is unfair that those rich people are doing so well, and that there are some that are not. So, their strategy to make things better for the folks at the bottom is to take away from the economy builders, and heavily regulate their activities. Unable to grow, and with less money to expand, they produce less products, and hire less people. So tell me: How is that good for the folks at the bottom?

Meanwhile, upstart businesses, the possible wealthy folks of the future, are unable to get their new entrepreneurial attempt off the ground because government has buried them in fees and regulations, leaving us with less opportunities for a economy building, job creating business to participate in the market. Once again: How is that good for the folks at the bottom?

One of the tools for encouraging economic growth is cutting taxes, and not just cutting taxes for certain groups, but cutting taxes all the way across the board. We experienced evidence of how well cutting taxes works in the eighties when Reagan cut taxes, and we not only pulled out of a recession caused by Jimmy Carter's leftist policies, but we experienced an economic boom of prosperity unseen in America for a long time. That period of prosperity, directly influenced by Reagan's tax cuts, showed us how less taxes for folks means a lot to our economic participants.

When the rich receive tax cuts, most of them will use some of that money for their endeavors, be they investments, or a business they own. The market, with this new money, enjoys an increase in production, therefore pumping more value into the economy. As production rises, prices drop, and consumerism rises. With the increased demand for the less expensive product more people are needed to produce the products, so jobs are created. The company, then, enjoys a greater profit, and the lowered taxes wind up resulting in increased revenue because of the success of the business sector.

The tax cuts for the middle class and the poor is where the extra money comes from that encourages the consumerism to rise. As money in their pockets increases with the tax cuts, and the prices come down on products they always hoped to be able to purchase because of the tax cuts on the wealthier business owning individuals, the middle class and poor begin to spend more money. Also, as some of these people become more involved in the consumer end of things, some of those folks take the extra money from lower taxes (and hopefully relaxed regulations) to start a new business, some of which will become intricately involved in the market by adding value to the economy, and ultimately creating jobs, as well.

Higher taxes, government regulations, and the government take-over of sectors of the private industry kill these opportunities. Pumping money into the system without production as a companion, as the Obama Administration is doing now, creates inflation. Inflation kills economies.

The result of inflation is a rise in prices. By continuing inflation, the government will then be able to confiscate wealth, and destroy the Capitalist System. Soviet Communist leader Lenin stated that inflation was the perfect tool to destroy the free market, and serve as an income redistribution system.

Makes you wonder if Obama is driving up the debt, and creating inflation with his influx of fiat money into our system, by design.

Rather than utilizing Capital Goods in acquiring or producing Consumption Goods, the government is trying to force the system to follow its direction. In a society that needs goods to consume, of which are produced in the free market by profit-driven incentive, with government involved the production of goods becomes forced. Rather than the creation of goods in an economic environment wherein the individual is encouraged to produce the maximum quantity of goods for profit, the government desires to force the production of goods or services with the worker doing so because it is "good for the common good." Though I cannot disagree that a vibrant economy is good for the common good, it is the individual hope for increased profit that motivates the worker to produce Consumption Goods, not a deep-down belief they they ought to.

Big Government then takes it a step farther, hoping to enforce fairness and equality. The idea, in order to achieve this equity, is to redistribute wealth from the wealthy to the poor (when in reality it redistributes wealth from the people to the government). After all, remember, they argue that money is like energy, and if the wealthy are rich, it must be because it was taken away from the poor - and of course, how unfair is it that some have succeeded, and others didn't? The process, ultimately, is the use of government to divide wealth, and distribute it in the manner the government believes to be the most fair. But, as is consistent with human nature, government will cut a bigger piece of the pie for themselves, and their power will increase as the opportunities of the citizens decrease.

Liberal Leftists see profit as a bad thing. They also believe their template is what's best, and if anyone tries to take a separate individual path, they must be punished. That is why Democrats are punitive in their thinking. For example, in the Health Care Bill that is making its way toward the Senate, there is a provision that punishes citizens for not having health care. The punitive actions by the government against people who don't get health insurance can be a fine, or jail time.

Conservatism believes the best way to build an economy is to incentivize, rather than being punitive. It would be more beneficial to individual freedom, and the market, if the health insurance products were allowed the freedom to be sold across state lines, and if the products were built in ways that the consumers desire. By loosening the restrictions placed on the industry by government, with the incentive of profit, the insurance companies will become more competitive with each other and it will drive prices down. In the case of providing catastrophic coverage, payments by the patients themselves will become more common, so doctors, in an effort to compete for more patients (profit-driven once again) will increase quality and decrease the cost to the consumer.

All economic models, be they Health Insurance, the auto industry, banks, or other goods or service oriented businesses, best function on a model of less government intervention, profit incentive, and competition against businesses of like-nature.

In short, the answer to recessions, inflation, and job creation is less government involvement. Government is not the solution. Government is the problem. The housing crash was caused by government manipulation of the market, and our problems now are being caused by the government taking control of the private sector while pumping money into the system without value from production and manufacturing entering the market too. Money is not like energy. There is enough for all of us to be successful - but there won't be if the government keeps siphoning it all for themselves, and takes control of every aspect of our economy.

Government intervention of this kind is unsustainable, and if leftist policies continue to run our economy, the ultimate result will be a collapse. And if there is a collapse of that kind of magnitude, complete government control in the form of a totalitarian system will follow.

Money may not be like energy, but power is, and once the government transfers all of the power to themselves, the individual citizens will be left with none.

We are all created equal, but what we do with our opportunities is our own individual business.

Muslims like Hasan are like Nazis in the Military

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Nidal Malik Hasan killed more people than the DC Sniper who was put to death tonight for his crimes, but Hasan will probably get a slight hand-slap because everyone is too afraid to upset the Muslims.

Hasan injured thirty people, and killed 13, and did so with pre-meditation. Washington was quick to dismiss the word terrorism before the investigation was even launched. As the facts have emerged, Nidal Hasan has been proven to be a Muslim who contacted a radical imam months ago. On a website Hasan compared suicide bombers with soldiers who fall on grenades to save their fellow troops, and civilians. In a lecture Hasan spoke in terms consistent with Jihadism, and spoke often in such a manner. He told classmates and professors he was a Muslim first, holding to Shariah before the U.S. Constitution. He called the war on terror a war on Islam. He wore the day of his shooting robes similar to those worn by suicide bombers on the day of their mission. The radical Muslim community praises Hasan as a hero.

Nical Malik Hasan gave every sign possible, short of writing "I am an Islamic Jihadist" on his forehead, that he was a dangerous Islamic terrorist capable of doing what he did. The signs were there, but nobody took action, and nobody said anything.

Why?

Could it be that Political Correctness killed those people?

Meanwhile, Barack Obama stood at a podium in Texas voicing that nobody knows why people snap. The press is trying to blame post-traumatic syndrome, when the guy has never seen combat. The Left is trying to find any excuse except the obvious. Janet Napolitano in the United Arab Emirates spoke to Muslims to calm their fears that there might be anti-Muslim backlash. Some in the media are even claiming the poor guy was under stress for being targeted by intolerant folks about his Muslim faith (I've been in the military, and I find that one hard to believe, actually). They wish to make him out to be a victim, when the guy is a cold blooded killer that did what he did because he believes the ideology of Islam demands such actions from him.

Political Correctness is killing America, and our ability to defend ourselves is null and void at this point.

Let's be clear on this. Hasan is an Islamic Jihadist, and whether or not he had connections to al-Qaeda, this was a terrorist attack on a military base, conducted by a Muslim Jihadist that infiltrated our military and undoubtedly did so with such an attack among his plans.

Obama thinks playing nice-nice to the Islamists will keep us safe. This guy was not poverty stricken, received a good education, and was an officer in the U.S. Military. I don't know how much more nice-nice you can get. Yet, he killed unarmed American troops mercilessly while on the grounds of a United States military installation. And he did so screaming "Allah Akbar," as does suicide bombers as they carry out their terrorist activities.

The argument by the left is that we must protect the moderate Muslims - the peaceful Muslims - the non-radical Muslims.

Peaceful Muslims are non-violent despite Islam, not because of it. And if a worldwide caliphate was in force, there would be no such thing as a moderate Muslim. They would all be dancing in the streets with the death of an infidel, if the Muslims were the majority.

Muslims in the U.S. Military during a time of war against the Islamic Jihad is like having Nazis in our military during World War II.

Could you imagine if such a situation happened during World War II?

An American Soldier, an officer, opens fire upon fellow soldiers on a base stateside during the Second World War, and it not only turns out he is a Nazi, but that the warning signs that he followed the enemy ideology was there all along.

"But what about the peaceful Nazis?" would argue the appeasers. "We don't want anybody to mistreat the Nazis who are not violent, do we?"

Insane. The idea of such a scenario is completely insane. Yet, that is what we have going on in today's military. An Islamic Jihadist opened fire on a military base, every sign available points to him being an Islamic Jihadist, and everyone is trying to find a different explanation so that we don't upset the Muslims.

It's like a nightmare, and the idiots of the Left just don't get it. Islamists wish to either convert you, or kill you, and they don't care who was appeasing them. If you are a non-Muslim, they will see you as the enemy - Period. Having Muslims like Hasan in the U.S. Military is like having Nazis in the U.S. Military during World War II - it is insane, and extremely dangerous to the well-being of the National Security of this nation.

Name a Presidential Candidate That Lost an Election

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Family Feud now begins their game show with a bulls eye round where getting an obvious number one answer can get you extra money. I don't normally watch Family Feud, but tonight I decided to sit down and watch it. During the Bulls Eye round the question came up: Name a Presidential Candidate that Lost an Election.

The obvious answer is John McCain, considering he is the last presidential candidate to lose an election.

After eight years of demonizing George W. Bush, the Democrats convinced the American People that the election in 2008 was all about Bush, and that the fight for the Democrat nomination was the real election - the presidential election was no more than a formality.

The two answers by the contestants?

The first answer given was Hillary Clinton (wasn't the Democratic Nomination the real election?)

And when she was X'd out, the other person said: George W. Bush.

I could only shake my head.

Are Christians Haters?

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Whenever a Christian dares to speak out against something they believe to be immoral, or outside God-given standards, the word "hate" is attached as a label by leftists. Those same liberals run around mocking various people of faith on their blogs, or verbally out in public. A single statement by a Christian that is unacceptable to the left's selfish narcissism is like a trail of blood to a hungry pack of hyenas, and as a result the leftists go on the prowl, baying wildly at the moon.

The funniest part of it is that these people can't even think for themselves. They are more like echo chambers of Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews.

Of course if Christians recognize such attacks, and say something about it, then they are accused of making more of it than need be, and are mocked as playing the victim card.

You know the old saying: "Damned if you do, damned if you don't." Either way, leftists foam at the mouth as they rant and rave about those "hateful" Christians.

The response is normally that Christians hate the sin, but not the sinner.

Leftists cannot compute such statements, and in their ignorance attack that too. That's all they know how to do. All they understand is attack, attack, and attack.

The answer to the title of this post is that Christians, true Christians that follow the teachings of the Bible (not fakes like Westboro's Phelps), are not haters. However, when we see wickedness, we will call it out.

I suppose, however, the best way to explain myself is with a Bible verse from the book of Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 33:11 - Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways. . .

God Bless

Lessons From The Day The Berlin Wall Fell

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Questions.

Many ask why the evil of communism was even given the chance to spread as it did, especially after a worldwide war to fight off Nazism, an ideology that also found its roots in far-left socialism. General Patton believed that after we defeated Germany in World War II, we needed to continue on into Russia and destroy the communist threat before it became too large to contain. During the Korean War General MacArthur recommended a stronger move into North Korea, and for the atomic bomb to be used on various targets in North Korea and China. Both were dismissed for their recommendations. Had we followed the advise of our military generals, the world would be a much different place, and more than likely, a much better place.

Communism is just another name for Utopianism, and a Utopian Society is the final goal of today's progressives. Regardless of the name, the hope by these leftists is the same, and the path to enact such a system of collectivism always follows the same destructive route. They desire a communal society that theoretically eliminates poverty, the need for monetary wealth, and the very concept of winning and losing. Problem is, human nature will never support such a pipe dream. We have seen such failures in the past. Today's Liberals are yesterday's Bolsheviks, and they don't even realize it.

Whenever the leftists attempt to equalize all, to make all things fair for people through government intervention, individual human nature will always reject the liberty-killing philosophy. If the system ever does take hold, as it has countless times throughout history, it will fail, leaving behind a bloody trail of millions. The "enlightened" minds behind the progressive movement are unwilling to accept the fact that as it has countless times before, their philosophy is doomed to failure. Each time rejection of their progressive system of government happens, the elitists behind the movement towards a Utopian society determine that they must push harder. After all, they think they know what is best for society more than the individual does, and that in the end collectivism will win out over individuality. However, every time collectivism makes such a push, the populace is not as receptive to socialistic collectivism as they had hoped. As a result, they decide to enact a new strategy, one that must be implemented without the people realizing what is going on, so that they can force liberal socialism upon the people whether the people like it, or not.

The strategy of deception is often compared to the boiling of a frog. At first, in the cooking pot, the frog believes he is in a hot tub, until the slowly rising heat gets to a point that he is cooked, and it is too late to escape. What was thought to be good for him turned out to be the end of him.

Creeping incrementalism promises the people one thing while delivering another. The socialists could never allow the populace to realize the true nature of their movement, so they hide their socialism, calling it by other names, even though their platforms are obviously socialist in nature. They inject the socialism slowly, careful not to deliver so much socialism that the populace discovers the exact nature of the strategy, and removes the liberals from office.

Socialism cannot win in the arena of ideas because ultimately the citizens of a free country will reject it should they discover what it is. Therefore, along with the stealth tactics of implementing socialism, the leftists must also destroy the trust and faith the people have in their current system. Capitalism must be demonized, and the citizenry is convinced that the free market is the cause of their economic woes, despite the fact, as in the case of the United States, it was that same free market that made the United States the most prosperous nation on the face of the Earth.

The attack against any dissent is vicious and unrelenting. Most people don't want socialism, and they do not desire to live under a socialist system, so the Socialists resort to deception through a series of lies, coupled with the unrelenting demonization of any system that dares to oppose socialism, including capitalism and faith-based religions.

One way to attack the opposition is for members of the liberal left to ask questions that corners the opposition, forcing them into a defensive posture. The leftists then to use the answers by their opposition as a tool of propaganda, twisting the meaning of the conservative's words any way they can. They ask questions of non-socialists not because they are searching for answers. They ask questions not in the hopes of learning something. They don't even ask questions with the determination of figuring out where "right-wingers" stand based on the answers given. The entire goal of asking pointed questions is to receive answers that can be used as fodder for their destruction of faith in the capitalistic system, and to further demonize the positions of those that oppose them.

As the opposition is demonized, programs are put into place by the leftists that masquerade as beneficial to the society. The purpose of these programs, however, is not to benefit the populace, but to soften the populace up, get them used to receiving gifts from the national treasury, and to allow the government to be able to exert more control over the populace. One of the tools used to achieve such control the redistribution of wealth. The promise is that the wealth is to be redistributed from the wealthy to those poor individuals at the bottom of the economic ladder. In reality, the government is taking from one to give it to another, but the receptor is ultimately those who control the system.

Once Socialism gains total control over the market place, and the government becomes the final employer of all workers. The right to provide for one's family becomes a privilege once the private sector is eliminated - a privilege that can be taken away from the government if the leaders should choose.

If the American People were to realize that the final result of liberalism is the same as that of communism, Obama would never have been elected. This is why the deception must be used. The true nature of leftism would never win an election.

Leftism contains two kinds of people. The deceivers, and the deceived. Collectivism is a wicked spell put on the people, that finds its roots in a variety of evils that have traipsed across the world stage throughout history. Today's leftism, however, is not just utopianism or Marxism, but a bastard child that encompasses all of the worst philosophies, and much, much more. The only hope to turn it around is to battle against this dangerous ideology with conservatism. Once those that have been deceived realize the dangerous nature of the philosophy of liberalism, the nation will then be set back on the right track, following a course set out by the founding fathers of this nation - a course that includes a small, limited federal government.

It seems amazing to me that anyone could be so naively optimistic about a utopian style belief system when it has failed so many times in the past. Today marks the anniversary of the day the Berlin Wall fell, a blazing example of the failure of Marxist utopianism. In fact, every time the push for a worldwide utopia has been launched, the fall of the effort created a worldwide reminder of the danger of such endeavors. Progressivism in any form is very dangerous.

Liberalism eliminates choice, which in turn kills freedom, but nonetheless, the deception finds a way to convince the people that such slavery is what they need.

Socialists never admit the failures of the past, and will only keep trying to force socialism on the people until they succeed - a success that will always elude them for eternity because a socialistic form of government cannot exist for long. This is part of the reason, I believe, Barack Obama refused to attend in person the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the day the Berlin Wall fell. He does not celebrate the day the Berlin Wall fell - he mourns it. He is a socialist, and the fall of the Berlin Wall represents yet another failure of the kind of governmental system that Barack Obama believes in.

Besides, Obama's narcissistic nature would never allow him to attend the event anyway - the memory of Ronald Reagan would upstage him, and his ego would never be able to handle that.

Obama's Health Care Bill Narrowly Passes House, On Its Way To Destroy Choice and Liberty

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Democratic Party's proposal for health care changes has been losing steam, and one by one politicians have been realizing that a vote for Obamacare spells no re-election for them in 2010, or whenever their next re-election bid is. Recognizing the writing on the wall, Nancy Pelosi knew they had to work fast before they lost any more votes, and the people had the chance to convince more legislators to move away from government-controlled health care. One of the methods of slowing the damage was for Pelosi and gang to eliminate the words upsetting people, and replace them with more acceptable verbiage - even though the goals of the bill changed very little. By changing the language into an even more ambiguous piece of legislative trash that promotes the end of the private health care industry as we know it, the nearly 2,000 page monstrosity, of which nobody in Congress has fully read, went to vote on Saturday. Government intervention into the health insurance world won yesterday by a narrow 220-215 vote, clearing the way for the Senate to begin what will prove to be a long and vicious debate on the issue that has become more important to Obama than even the lives of our troops in Afghanistan.

Public opinion is hostile towards the idea of federal government intrusion into the best health care system in the world. Amazingly, the little bubble the leftist politicians live in says otherwise to Pelosi's zombies, and inside the beltway of Washington DC the bill looks unstoppable to the small-brained leftist politicians. The fact that the American People are rejecting the dangerous step into a socialist society did not convince them to put a stop to the bill, but it will be defeated in the Senate. Enough not-so-Marxist Democrats in the United States Senate will shy away from joining their hard left whacko compadres, and the move towards choice-killing government-controlled health insurance will die on the Senate floor. Or at least such legislation will be killed until the leftists can come up with more language for a piece of legislation that makes less sense, but sounds like it might not be a pledge to Marxism as this bill does.

A couple Saturdays ago, on Halloween, a liberal Canadian called into my Political Pistachio Radio Revolution radio program during the second hour to try to explain to me why government intrusion into a private system is a good idea. He threw around the usual propaganda, beginning with the argument that Canada spends less on health care, per capita, than does the United States. Therefore, that must mean the Canadian government-controlled system must be better. I don't know the details on why we spend more, but I am willing to bet that malpractice suits (and the behavior by the medical industry the fear of malpractice suits bring), and the behavior of Americans in their daily lives, are a large part as to why our health care costs more. Think about it, we are the wealthiest nation in the world. Our poverty-stricken citizens live better than nearly 90% of the rest of the world. We eat a lot of fast-food, participate in more activities that carry some kind of risk, and more Americans smoke than in other countries. So could it be that our health care costs are higher per capita partly because we live so well, and not because our health care system is lousy?

The caller then argued that 47 million people in the United States are without health care. When I questioned the number, he argued it must be true because all of the news outlets say so. They get their numbers from the Democrat controlled government, so of course those are the numbers they are going to report. But, the number is in error. "47 million" without health care is a lie. The Democrats are lying to you every time they say that all these people are without health care, but they continue on with the number because they realize it strikes a chord with the American People.

First of all, 47 million people would be roughly 1 out of 6 Americans, and that is obviously false. Secondly, included in that number is a large amount of people that are either in this country illegally, are between employers and will have health insurance soon through a new employer, or choose not to buy health insurance for personal reasons. As for the people that are indeed without health insurance, and desire to have coverage, they are not without health care - almost every state has a state-run system, usually used by people as temporary care. If I was without health insurance, here in California, I could go down to the county hospital and receive care using the Medi-Cal program. Health care is available to the 47 million the Democrats claim are without health care, through the states. So, the Democrats are not really trying to get people health care that don't have care, but are trying to get the federal government into the mess of things, which will ultimately kill the private care system, and the state programs, leaving only the federal government in control of all health issues. And they are willing to destroy a private system that most Americans are happy with to do so, leaving Americans without choice.

"If you were president right now, then, what would you do to fix the health care system that is obviously broken?" asked the caller.

Tort Reform is one thing I would encourage if I were president, but I think it is unconstitutional for the Republicans to try to push for Tort Reform from a federal angle. This is something the states must pursue. Tort Reform is reforming the legal system, of which the federal government has no authority. But, if states were to institute Tort Reform, it would eliminate, or at least control, frivolous malpractice suits. The real savings, however, from Tort Reform, would not just be a drop in costs regarding the law suits, but the changes in the behavior of the medical community as a result of such. Currently, malpractice insurance is sky-high because of the problem of frivolous suits. The eventual drop in those rates would transfer into a drop in health care costs as well. Other benefits would be that doctors, now not so fearful of frivolous suits, would not order unnecessary procedures to show they covered all bases, nor would they depend so heavily on pharmaceuticals. Ultimately, health care costs would drop dramatically if Tort Reform was instituted among the states. Tort Reform should also limit punitive damage cases that award millions, while reducing the size of punitive awards.

As president I would also institute a "get government out of health care plan" that would draw back on many rules and regulations that do not necessarily make the system better, but actually hurt health care in America. I would allow companies to sell across state lines, and I would allow insurance to create products that include "catastrophic care only." Currently, such products are not allowed because of government regulations.

Our health care system is like a car engine, and the engine has a great number of things wrong with it. The person who wishes to keep his costs down, and get his hands dirty, is going to stick his hands into that engine and fix what is wrong with it.

The engine of health care is not running smoothly. It needs an oil change, a new battery, a tune up, and the belt on the alternator needs to be pulled tighter. Knowing this, it doesn't seem wise to then say, "Okay, I guess we have to replace the whole engine, and while we are at it, let's put an engine in that is not made for this make and model, and has been proven to fail." Instead, we need to fix the individual problems, and allow capitalism to finish the job of straightening out our problem through healthy free market principles. Increasing private industry competition (which is not achieved by inserting a government competitor) will increase quality and decrease cost.

Liberals argue Capitalism had its chance - but that is not true - because the government has been fiddling with the system through outrageous government controls for decades. A true free market option has yet to be allowed by government.

The government has been the primary problem regarding our deteriorating health insurance system, and the government thinks it can now fix the health care mess by injecting more government. If government's misuse of the Commerce Clause in the U.S. Constitution was lifted, and policies could be sold across state lines, the competition alone will drive down prices. If government regulation, of which Teddy Kennedy was behind a lot of, that determines how policies are built was pulled back, and insurance companies were allowed to build policies the people want to buy, the prices would also drop.

The HMO style insurance, which was pushed by the Democrats, is a large part of the problem. I don't charge my auto insurance to take my car in for an oil change, a brake job, or an alignment, so why do we use insurance for every routine doctor's visit? If insurance companies were allowed to create catastrophic policies, meaning that people would be paying out of their pocket for most of their health care, it would drive prices down as doctors began to compete for patients. The price of coverage would drop as well because the insurance companies would not be paying for every sniffle, cough, and sneeze. The problem is, thanks to Teddy Kennedy and the Democrats of 50 years ago (and since), we expect our insurance to pay for us to have our temperature taken. That's crazy. My routine visits should be paid by me. I should have the ability to buy catastrophic insurance if I so desire. But the federal government has so many restrictions on the industry that those kinds of products are not readily available.

Now, after not allowing the health insurance industry to create products for the consumer that is best for the consumer, they wish to insert themselves directly into the health care circus. But the Congress, in the bill that just narrowly squeezed by in the House vote, is making the politicians exempt from having to use Obamacare. If a government option is so wonderful, why won't the elitist politicians use it?

Ultimately, after all of the arguments from his side, and myself, the caller on my radio program brought up how in his province, Manitoba, automobile insurance is through a government program. He was bringing it up to illustrate how well the government can run something. He said that his public auto insurance is second to none. It is one of the most affordable insurance plans in the country with fantastic coverage, quick claims service, and it has a variable rate that rewards drivers that live in lower-risk areas (using risk tables which are also used in the private industry).

I asked the caller, "What about the private companies? Aren't they able to compete with this automobile public option? Are there any private companies?"

He responded, "For auto insurance? No."

"Why not?"

"Because it's public."

I then asked, "So are private insurance companies not allowed?"

"Not for auto insurance, not in this province."

The rope was in place, so I asked, "Doesn't that limit you? Even though this public insurance is so good, and I am glad it is a wonderful thing, but doesn't that limit you? What if you wanted different coverage, of just simply desired something different? I mean, you are limited to only what the government can offer. What if the government decided they wanted to change it on you? There's nothing you can do about it."

The Canadian liberal responded, "Like I said, it is second to none."

I guess it's easy to be "second to none" when there is no competition because you killed it all with a governmental option.

I continued, "That's not my point. I am glad it is second to none. That's wonderful, I am glad it works out very well for you. But the opportunity is there for the government to change things on you, and there is nothing you could do about it. Your choice is limited. If you suddenly didn't like what they were doing you couldn't say, 'okay, fine, they suck now, I am going to go over to this company.' You can't, because there is no other company. See, that's my point. I am glad it is wonderful, and I am not putting down that you have a wonderful option, that's great - but what if it stops being great? You don't have a choice. Liberty is all about choice. That is one of my problems with, for example, federally funded health insurance. Eventually it will kill the private industry, and my choice will be limited to one location. Choice equals freedom, and freedom equals liberty. So you are in a situation. . . that even if it is second to none, your government if they wanted to - let's say they ran into problems with paying, there is a lot of accidents, whatever, and they stop covering a certain thing, and they raise how much you are paying, and all that, and suddenly it's like 'Wow, this is starting to really suck,' you've got nowhere to go because that's it, that's your choice. That's it! That's my complaint about government funded systems like that."

For those that believe Obama when he says, "If you like your coverage, you can keep it," grow up and face reality. Government is not providing competition with this plan that just passed the House of Representatives. The government has no profit margin, sets the rules, and can print money if it gets into trouble. How is that competition? The ultimate result, be it next year, ten years from now, or two dozen years from now, is the eventual death of private health insurance, and for the public option to be the only option. Period. And that eliminates your choice, your freedom to choose the product you wish to use. The solution to our health insurance problem is not more government. The solution is less government in the system. The federal government needs to back off and allow companies to sell across state lines, and for companies to be able to create products the consumers need - not products the government requires them to have.

Believe me when I say that if this bill passes the Senate, it will destroy choice. The government has already unconstitutionally (and even without legislative authority) taken over much of the banking industry, automobile industry, credit industry, and mortgage industry. The federal government has control of roughly 34% of the private sector, and will be in control of nearly half of the private sector should this bill pass, and the private health insurance industry will die as a result.

Ask yourself: Do you believe that is what the Founding Father's intended when they wrote the U.S. Constitution? Do you believe they desired the federal government to grow astronomically, control our lives, and tax us heavily? Do you believe they intended for America to eventually regress into a socialist nation controlled by a huge, centralized federal government?

The answer to each of those three questions is a resounding, "NO!"

Choice is liberty, and government paid health insurance is a liberty killer, and a move towards socialism - and socialism is a nation killer. America is exceptional because of its 233 year refusal to be like Europe. If we kill the American dream with the policies of today's hard left Democrat, we are doing more than just changing the foundation of the American Form of Government - we will kill this nation once and for all.

The traitors of the left would have you believe they are doing this to strengthen America, but in reality they are doing this to change America. They have a problem with our 233 year prosperity, and our standing as the greatest nation on Earth. For some reason they wish to destroy that - and that is anti-American. Stand with the real Americans, and do all you can to stop the anti-American, treasonous government-run health care that these hard left liberals are pushing.

We are our last hope. We are the resistance. We are America.

Flight 93 Memorial to Break Ground Despite Protest Over Crescent

By Douglas V. Gibbs

United Airlines Flight 93 was intended to fly from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco, California on September 11, 2001. Three other planes were hijacked by Islamic Terrorists and flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. United Flight 93 never reached its intended target. After phone calls to the outside world, the passengers of Flight 93 learned of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, and the Pentagon in Washington. Realizing their flight had been hijacked by similar terrorists, the passengers decided to mount an assault against the hijackers and gain control of the aircraft. The battle for control of United 93 proved to be successful in the sense that the aircraft never reached its target. The plane crashed in a field near Shanksville, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, killing all aboard.

Passenger Todd Beamer, and his final words, "Are you guys ready? Let's roll!" have become synonymous with heroism, and has since become widely appropriated as a battle cry.

Crackpot theories emerged shortly after that the FBI shot down Flight 93, or that the passengers never made it to the cockpit and the terrorists decided to nose dive the plane because they realized they had lost control. Honestly, we will never know the exact happenings on that flight before it crashed into that field. But regardless of the details, it makes me proud that those passengers did not just cower in their seats. They took action. They were willing to sacrifice themselves to protect countless others. The only word I can muster for such an acts is Heroism - Heroes, each and every one of them.

The site of the crash houses a temporary memorial that has brought together the residents of the surrounding area, the families of the victims, and the Americans that visit the site to pay their respects. To replace the temporary memorial, a permanent memorial site has been in the planning, and they are breaking ground for the construction of the memorial that will encompass 2,200 acres surrounding the crash site today. The $58 million permanent memorial to the 40 victims of Flight 93 includes a 93-foot tower with 40 wind chimes. The chosen design of the memorial, however, has been the subject of criticism, but despite the protests against the design, the ground-breaking will go on as scheduled, and the completed memorial is scheduled to be dedicated in 2011.

Listening to flight attendant CeeCee Lyles' message she left on her answering machine for her husband to let him know her plane had been hijacked serves as a grim reminder of what happened. Listening to the audio my eyes welled with tears, and I ask myself, what kind of monsters could do such a thing? The Islamic Jihad was behind those attacks, despite what all of the conspiracy theorists are suggesting, no different than the fact that the Islamic Jihad mentality drove an Army Major to kill 13, and injure another 30, at Fort Hood, Texas.

The outrage over the design stems from the fact that the design of the permanent memorial memorializes the terrorists as well, even placing the terrorists above the 40 Americans with symbolic images that damn the 40 while elevating the Islamic Jihadists.

The Tower of Voices, which will be a tower with 40 wind chimes in it, will be capped with an Islamic shaped crescent. The symbolic nature of the Tower of Voices, according to Alec Rawls, by hanging the 40 chimes under the Islamic crescent and star depicts the 40 heroes as damned, cast out of the symbolic Islamic heavens. The Tower of Voices quite literally has an Islamic shaped crescent soaring in the sky above forty symbolic souls that literally dangle below. The "Forty symbolic souls, never to rest in peace, gonging for eternity in their symbolic damnation, strung like fish as they hang down from the symbolic Islamic heavens projected in the sky above."

A circle of trees lines the edge of "The Bowl," but the circle is broken. Upon closer inspection the broken circle is a giant Islamic-shaped crescent (that just happens to point to Mecca, like the Mecca direction indicator around which every mosque is built). The symbolic nature of this depicts an al-Qaeda victory.

The Flight 93 Memorial is designed, quite literally, to be the world's largest mosque.

Coincidentally enough, you will find little, or no mention of the controversy regarding the design of the memorial, in the mainstream media.

A memorial needs to be at the crash site. The memorial should be a dedication to the heroism of the crew and passengers of United 93, solely designed in their memory, with no symbolism that could be construed as Islamic. The hijackers were not victims of a misunderstanding. As individuals they were fully capable of making their own decisions, and they chose to be Jihadists, and murderers.

I don't know what the reasoning is behind the Islamic symbolism at the Flight 93 Memorial, but I do know this: any Islamic references in the design, regardless of what we think, will be recognized as a symbol of Islamic Victory over the lives of those 40 Americans that died when United 93 plowed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, by the Muslim world. That is unacceptable, and should not be tolerated. The site needs to be redesigned, and the memories of those heroes should not be tainted.

Let's Roll.

Islamic Jihad Strikes Fort Hood

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Major Nidal Malik Hasan's attack at Fort Hood, Texas killing 13 people, and wounding another 30, was an act of terrorism. The media may be tippy-toeing around the truth, but the facts are that Hasan is a Muslim who on his web-site provided pro-jihadist propaganda, and screamed Allah Akbar as he fired upon the innocent.

Immediately, the U.S. Government said that they had discounted the possibility of it being terrorism.

Then what was it? A misunderstood victim that popped a cork?

The way government and the media are treating this horrendous tragedy is what makes me the maddest. It is a double-standard.

If a non-Muslim had fired into a room of Muslims, this would be a hate-crime. But a Muslim firing into a room of non-Muslims isn't. If a person claiming to be a Christian, screaming "Jesus is Great" as he opened fire as Hasan did, committed this kind of atrocity, the media would be all over it, launching investigations of the danger of radical right-wing Christianity in America. A Muslim does something like this, and suddenly everyone is careful about about what they say.

Why? What are you afraid of? It's not like you are drawing a cartoon of Muhammed, or anything.

The double-standard is deafening.

A terrorist attack happened on Obama's watch, and many more will follow. We had no terrorist attacks after 9-11 because Bush took it to the enemy. Appeaser Obama, however, is inviting such attacks with his weakness. And once the jihadists see Obama's lackadaisical response to this attack, they will push the boundaries, test the waters, and we will be hit again.

If we are not willing to admit who our enemy is, how are we supposed to fight them?

Impeach Obama Campaign Creator Floyd Brown on Political Pistachio Radio

The Impeach Obama campaign was launched by political activist Floyd Brown, the man behind the infamous Willie Horton ad campaign that devastated Gov. Michael Dukakis' candidacy for president. Floyd Brown was also one of the first citizens to sound the alarm on impeaching President Bill Clinton. Now, with Obama in office, and the Democrats in control of Congress, Brown says the United States is collapsing around its citizens right now.

"Make no mistake," says Brown, "We're now in the middle of a bloodless coup - the takeover of an entire nation by the hate-America crowd - a cold-blooded gang that despises America's prosperity, our standing in the world, our trust in God and our generosity and goodness."

Floyd suggests the best defense is nothing less than a strike at the emperor, saying, "Like so many on the far-left before him, going all the way back to Karl Marx, Obama believes that it's his mission to promote 'equality of outcome' over 'equality of opportunity' even if Americans must learn to live in chains to make it happen. That worldview makes Barack Hussein Obama a very dangerous man and one of the greatest threats to your personal liberty today."

Brown contends that Obama was acting on his world view by 'gobbling-up major banks, adding, "If you wake up one day to discover you're broke, don't be surprised. Barack Hussein Obama is Bernie Madoff with the political power of the presidency at his disposal. That dangerous worldview explains why his attorney general, Eric Holder, despises the 2nd Amendment. . . And that dangerous worldview explains why Obama intends to take away your freedom to choose your own doctor. . . your own treatment."

"Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution reads: 'The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.'"

According to an October 8, 2009 WorldNetDaily article quoting the Impeach Obama Campaign, Obama already has:

1) Lied to the American people when he said people could keep private insurance, knowing full well that his legislation would inevitably drive private insurers out of business.

2) Vindictively fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin, who investigated Kevin Johnson, a buddy of the president, for misuse of funds from an AmeriCorps grant.

3) Supervised the effective takeover by government of banks, the largest insurance company (AIG), and General Motors (GM) and Chrysler... the bulk of the U.S. auto industry, thus depriving bondholders, shareholders, and others of their property.

4) Pursued cap-and-trade legislation. It would in a manner of speaking tax the very air people exhale and give the government unprecedented control over the economy and American businesses.

5) Added a trillion dollars to the national debt in just a handful of weeks.

6) Appointed "Czars" to oversee everything from the closing of Guantanamo to the nation's food.

And finally, Obama has consistently refused to approve the release of his actual birth certificate, college transcripts and his medical records.

Rachel Maddow spent nearly 7 minutes discussing Floyd Brown's Impeach Obama Campaign website. She attacked Floyd Brown with a series of bogus accusations including being a tool of the "Republican Establishment with a capital R and Capital E."

Featured prominently on Brown’s homepage is a quote from talk show host Tammy Bruce who provided, with few words, a simple message that Brown thinks adequately captures the reason why he has gone to this extent – publicly calling for Obama’s impeachment.

Said Bruce of Obama: "... ultimately, it comes down to... the fact that he seems to have, it seems to me, some malevolence toward this country, which is unabated."

Obama's Afghanistan Debacle Reveals Him To Be A Coward

It has been months since the military commanders told Obama that the military effort needs more troops, equipment, and supplies. Support personnel are in place, but the number of infantry personnel is low. Support personnel are essential, and I am in no way demeaning their roles, but it takes the infantry to do the fighting, of which Obama has delayed delivery of.

Obama has been sending support personnel to jack up the number, while having no intention to actually fight the war.

While Obama tests the political wind before making a decision of such magnitude regarding troop levels, two things are becoming clear. First, his popularity (or what's left of it) and socialist agenda are more important to him than the lives of our troops. Second, Obama is a coward.

Hesitation in the world of military combat equals death. A lack of adequate personnel, equipment, or supplies can also cost lives. Decisions in the field must be made without hesitation, and without doubt. Such an inability to be decisive is dangerous, and potentially devastating to the mission. Therefore, Barack Obama's delay in performing his duty as Commander in Chief is placing the many lives of our military men and women in Afghanistan in grave danger.

Retired Lt. Colonel TigerBo Dawson (USMC) once explained to me that one definition of a coward is one that makes no decision for fear it might be the wrong decision. Using that definition, Barack Obama is a coward, and has no business trying to perform the role of Commander in Chief.

Barack Obama needs to make a decision (but his cowardliness won't allow him to). He needs to either follow his commander's recommendation, or he needs to pull the troops out. Anything else places our military in grave danger.

Khomeini Class Destroyers

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The United States built four naval destroyers for the Shah of Iran, laying the keels in 1978. The ships were built on the modified plans of the Spruance-class destroyers, and were equipped with state of the art equipment, including guided missile launchers. When the Islamic Revolution engulfed Iran the order was cancelled, and the U.S. Navy kept the four vessels.

The four destroyers were commissioned in 1982 as the USS Kidd, USS Callaghan, USS Scott, and the USS Chandler. The Kidd Class Guided Missile Destroyers were the most powerful multi-purpose destroyers in the fleet at the time. I served aboard the USS Chandler, DDG-996.

The Chandler was home ported at NAS North Island, across the bay from the rest of the fleet at Naval Station, San Diego. I worked in Damage Control Central during General Quarters, and served as a watch stander underway while also performing duties in the ship's office. It was on the Chandler that I first experienced the intensity of the Cold War when we encountered a brief run-in with a Soviet Ship. My tour aboard the Chandler was cut short when tragedy struck, and I found myself fighting against death in July of 1985.

I later served aboard the USS Peoria LST-1183, a gator-freighter, and the amphibious operations were challenging. But my heart, my first Battle E, and my earliest Navy memories will always reside on the decks of the USS Chandler.

Both vessels I served on have since been de-commissioned, and dismantled. The impact of the Khomeini Class (the Kidd Class Destroyers are also sometimes called the Ayatollah Class) remains with the Navy. Whenever I find myself in a discussion with a Navy vet, or active duty Navy servicemember, even those that began to serve after the Kidd Class was long gone, and I tell the person I served aboard a Khomeini Class ship, they always smile in recognition.

Iran Hostage Crisis 30th Anniversary

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Today was the 30th Anniversary of the day where 53 Americans were held hostage for 444 days. The ordeal began November 4, 1979 and ended on January 20, 1981. The perpetrators were a group of Islamist students and militants who took over the American embassy in support of the Iranian Revolution that had overtaken Iran.

Jimmy Carter was President of the United States, and the Vietnam War still resided in America's recent memory. Few of us knew much about the country of Iran, aside from the fact the Shah was pro-American.

On November 4, 1979 a group of Iranian militants, mere students, took control of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. For 444 days those hostages were held. A failed attempt to rescue the hostages on April 24, 1980 resulted in the death of eight American servicemen.

The hostages were released 20 minutes after the inauguration of President Reagan, a politician known for his no-nonsense approach, and "peace through strength" philosophy.

Looking back it is reasonable to say that Jimmy Carter's weak foreign policy served as encouragement to the Islamic radicals to seize the U.S. Embassy, while the terrorists used Carter's willingness to aid the Shah as an excuse. Carter's weakness enabled the militants to not worry about retaliation or consequences because Carter had already proven to be an appeaser.

The lesson is obvious. Appeasement emboldens Islamic Jihadists, and a strong military led by a decisive Commander in Chief that believes in peace through strength neutralizes terrorism.

Barack Obama's weak position on defending this nation, and his indecisiveness regarding Afghanistan, is setting us up for another terrorist attack. Obama's appeasement position is putting American lives at risk, and if we are hit again by terrorism, the blood will be on Obama's hands.

Abortion Seen As Murder By Former Director of Planned Parenthood

By Douglas V. Gibbs

In thirty-two states movements have erupted seeking to legally define every unborn baby as a "person" protected by God-given and constitutionally protected rights, including the right to life. Americans have rejected the government-paid abortions provision in the Democrat's idiotic health care bill. Obama's support of partial birth abortion continues to be a factor in the nose dive of his approval ratings.

People are realizing the barbaric nature of abortion.

The stories that best exhibits how our moral character is beginning to reject the genocide of babies in the form of abortion are those of abortionists, that when faced with the reality of the barbaric practice, change their tune.

The most famous conversion to the pro-life side of the debate is of Jane Roe (Norma McCorvey), from the Roe v. Wade case of 1973, who in 1995 became a pro-life advocate.

Recently, another case of "change of heart when faced with the truth" has emerged.

The former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas quit her post and joined a pro-life group outside the facility in prayer. Her "change of heart" came after watching an abortion. On the screen, visible because of an ultrasound, she watched the unborn child "crumple" as it was vacuumed out of a patient's uterus.

She went from extremely pro-choice to pro-life by merely being exposed to the truth.

I have been a firm believer that often leftists don't understand what they read or see when exposed to the truth because they are unable to process the truth. They have been so deceived that the truth simply does not compute.

The story of this woman becoming pro-life after being exposed to the truth gives me hope. When the deceived are exposed to the truth, sometimes, their humanity, and common sense, reawakens. Sometimes, it is possible to turn from the dark side.

Ford Proves Left Wrong

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Ford Motor Company posted a $1 billion profit. The other American rivals, GM and Chrysler, continue to struggle.

Isn't it interesting? The only auto company in America not to take a government bail out, and allow the government to pull puppet strings on pay, and force CEOs to resign, is improving.

Chalk one up for capitalism.

The mainstream media calls it a "surprise" profit.

They are surprised because they are in the tank for Obama, and actually believe the lies the leftists are telling them.

Ford's biggest obstacle? The labor union. You know the union I am talking about, the unions that once were important for protecting the rights of workers (which led to laws being in place that makes the need for unions unnecessary), and now kills business? By being profitable, the union will demand more from the company, killing the profit, and ultimately sinking Ford - should the unions get their way.

The profitability of Ford may also be a sign of the American People's rejection of the Democrats. They are choosing to buy from the company that isn't under government control. The message is loud and clear. The deceived leftists are too stupid to see the writing on the wall, and the deceivers are too greedy for power to care.

Republicans Win! - What does that say?

The vote for Virginia's governor is all wrapped up, and McDonnell (Republican) won with ease. In New Jersey, and remember it is a very liberal state, Chris Christie (Republican) pulled off the win. And these guys are conservative Republicans, winning in areas where it is obvious the independents voted GOP along with the Republicans.

Is this a sign of a GOP comeback?

I don't know, but it is a clear message of discontent with the Democrats.

Did you notice something? The Republicans won as conservatives, not as moderates or liberals. The left says that if the GOP is to have a chance they need the moderates - and that is false. Conservatism wins, if presented as conservatism should be presented - factually.

Moderates, or independents, are not conservative or liberal, but we must also remember they are not an ideology. Republicans have been losing because of the moderates in the party - it makes the GOP look like liberal-light. With no clear message, there is no clear reason for non-conservatives to consider a GOP candidate.

Conservatism (limited government, supporting life and tradition, peace through strength, lower taxes, less spending) is a winning ticket - but it must not be muddied by liberalism.

Now all we have to do is wait for New York's District 23 where the conservative (Doug Hoffman) is neck and neck with the Democrat (Owens) with about half the precincts reporting.

And don't forget California District 10, near Pelosi's San Francisco district. Tonight is also a vote there, and the Republican's chances are looking good. (UPDATE on District 10: Garamendi (Democrat) won, but the Republican made a better showing than expected.)

This is the response of the incompetence of the Democrats, and the GOP moving away from the neo-con, moderate big-tent idiots.

Washington Corruption in the Crosshairs

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Ways and Means Chairman, Democrat Charlie Rangel, is under investigation for his real estate holdings and rental income. Pennsylvania Democrat John Murtha's ties to defense contractors is under investigation by the Ethics Committee, as well.

And there's more:

According to the L.A. Times, "nearly half the members of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which Murtha chairs, are under investigation for funneling millions in federal funds to clients of a lobbyist who used to work on the Hill. The charge: They put earmarks worth $300 million in the 2008 Defense appropriation bill to benefit clients of the PMA Group, a now-defunct lobbying firm headed by Paul Magliocchetti, a former aide to the committee."

The Democrat Party keeps hanging itself, showing that it is the party of corruption, and that they are only in the game for money and power.

And surprise, surprise, a few "progressive" Republicans got caught up in the corruption too.

No wonder conservatism is on the rise!

Valerie Jarrett, President Obama's closest friend in the White House

By Douglas V. Gibbs

A radical, hard left, socialist, Valerie Jarrett is perfect for Obama, because like him she is all about power and wealth, and screwing the American People in the process. The New York Times called Valerie Jarrett the "president’s closest friend in the White House, and it is not lost on her colleagues that when senior staff meetings in the Oval Office break up, she often stays behind with the boss."

Valerie Jarrett is Obama's closes advisor, and she most for both originating and orchestrating his most brazen attempts to impose a new socialist regime upon America.

But there is more about Valerie Jarrett and Barack Obama the people just don't understand. Watch this video about Obama's Housing Policies, and you will get the picture:

Obama, Glenn Beck, and Martin Luther King

By Douglas V. Gibbs

I entered the entrance of the car shop with my Glenn Beck book, "Arguing With Idiots," under my left arm. To my left, with her eyes fixated on the cover of the book, was a woman wearing a shirt with an image of Barack Obama and Martin Luther King on it. She brought her eyes up to gaze into mine, and transmitted a look of disgust. She promptly, then, got up and left the room, not returning until after I departed.

My first thought was that my Glenn Beck book to liberals must be like garlic is to vampires. Maybe I should attend a Democrat Party rally with a Glenn Beck book in one hand, and a Rush Limbaugh book in the other, holding them out in front of me, watching the zombies run for cover with fear in their eyes, and retreat in the voices.

If only we could be so fortunate.

What struck me to be the most interesting part of my encounter with the liberal in the car shop was not the fact that she recoiled when faced with the cover of a book by a well known conservative (talk about tolerance), but that her shirt had images of both Barack Obama and Martin Luther King on it.

It seemed strange to me because the two men are diametrically opposed to each other in both political, and religious, beliefs.

Barack Obama is no Martin Luther King.

Martin Luther King taught about the love of Christ, and the truth of the Holy Bible. Barack Obama attended a church that taught hate of America and whites. Barack Obama made jokes about the Bible in speeches, and told the world this is no longer a Christian nation.

Barack Obama voted three times against protecting born alive victims of abortion. These babies were left to die in dirty laundry closets at Christ Hospital in Chicago. Obama voted against doctors doing something on the behalf of these botched abortions. Obama voted for the death penalty of these struggling infants in desperate need of assistance. The innocent babies, who were originally doomed to die by the hand of abortionists, fighting for their fragile little lives, lying there naked, helpless, and in extreme pain, received no assistance, no doctor's aid, and no mother's care. Barack Obama's response, after given the facts regarding the brutal, calloused acts of man's inhumanity to babies, voted to allow this heinous, barbaric behavior to continue.

In Martin Luther King's Letter From a Birmingham Jail, he wrote of the early Christians: "By their effort and example they brought an end to such ancient evils as infanticide."

What King was speaking of was the Roman law, during the decline of the empire, that allowed citizens to leave their child by the side of the road to die if the parents didn't like the color of their eyes, the texture of their hair, or the complexion of their skin. The law also stated that anyone touching the child to give aid would be put to death. The newborn child was to be left to die without any aid, just as the survivors of botched abortions are. Under the threat of death, the early Christians scooped the children up and raised them as their own. Martin Luther King called the practice of leaving children on the side of the road evil.

Barack Obama has defended such actions, and his wife has campaigned for partial birth abortion. More than three quarters of Americans call partial birth abortion evil, and I have no doubt that Martin Luther King would too. Between partial birth abortions, and infanticide, no evil seems to be greater.

Obama does not deserve to be on the same shirt as Martin Luther King. In fact, Obama's name should not even be uttered in the same sentence as Martin Luther King's.

Obama is no Martin Luther King.

California's 10% Witholding, without permission

By Douglas V. Gibbs

State income tax will be withheld 10% in everyone's paychecks in California without the permission of the citizens, without a vote in the state assembly, and without the Governor seeking permission. They say it is not an income tax increase, it is simply a quick loan for the state, of which you will get back at income tax time.

The State of California is broke, and they are figuring they have to get the money somehow, so taking it from the populace as everyone struggles to survive in this economy, and every dollar counts, is their plan.

The progressives that have run this state into the ground for the last four decades have officially become tyrannical.

This is a "forced" withholding. The State of California is stealing from the populace, and doing it without our voice.

How long before the federal government catches on and does the same thing?

The officials say 10% is only a small amount, but for those counting pennies it could mean the difference between paying bills or not, or even being able to buy food.

The breakdown is as follows:

From a single taxpayer earning $51,000 a year with no dependents, the state will be grabbing an extra $17.59 each month, according to state tax officials. A married person earning $90,000 with two dependents would receive $24.87 less in monthly pay.

Experts are expecting California to continue to collect the tax at a higher rate for many years.

As for the promise to pay us back, how does a broke state do that? IOUs?

It is possible to get out of them taking extra by increasing the number of personal withholding allowances claimed on employer tax forms.

The largest concern is that this decision to steal from Californians comes at a ttime when the holiday shopping season is coming, a time in which many small store owners depend on to keep their businesses in survival mode.

Consumer spending is already in a tail spin, and California has been suffering more than most of the rest of the nation under this economic collapse. This move by Sacramento will kill any economic growth we may have seen coming, despite the fact that they believe it will have a small impact on the consumer's income.

As I said already, every penny counts, and they are simply making it harder for citizens to survive. This is a great example of government doing whatever it takes for its own survival, at the expense of the citizens, short of cutting spending.

The progressives still don't get it. The problem is not a revenue problem, it is a spending problem.

The Church of Liberalism

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Liberalism is a religion.

A religion is a belief system. In the American Century Dictionary religion is defined as a belief in a personal God or gods entitled to obedience and worship, a thing that one is devoted to.

Big government is a system of governance that limits one's choices, and demands the citizen to be obedient, and devoted, to the ruling class.

Liberalism cannot have competition, therefore there is a natural opposition to the Christian God. After all, how can one devote all allegiance to big government when one is willing to worship a God other than the men that run government?

Belief in God means that the individual believes man's rights are God-given. If your rights are God-given, then only God can take them away. Socialists believe that man's rights come from man himself, and therefore can be limited or removed by man, or by other men through laws created by men.

Our Founding Fathers realized this. They recognized our unalienable rights were given to us by God, and that government should never rise above the Creator. Liberalism desires exactly that, and that is why this battle for our country is so important.

America is being changed at its foundation by leftists into something that our Founding Fathers never intended it to be, and our victory over the leftists is imperative if we are going to save this nation.

The resistance starts here. The resistance starts now. The spread of socialism must be stopped, and it will be stopped. I believe in America, and I believe in you.

Virginia, New Jersey, and New York 23 is only the start. Conservatism is on the rise. Be a part of the removal of tyranny. Be involved. Be a part of the resistance.

God Bless America.

The Founding Fathers on Tyranny and God

Why are the leftists so opposed to a Christian God? I believe it is because they realize that tyranny cannot exist on the same plane with a Christian God. My thoughts on this are confirmed by quotes by Thomas Jefferson and William Penn:

Jefferson said, "The God that gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?"

William Penn wrote, "If men will not be governed by God, they then must be governed by tyrants."

What Republican Dierdre Scozzafava Says About The GOP

There are two kinds of liberals: The deceived, and the deceivers. Leftists dominate the Democrat Party, and have taken over the leadership of the Republican Party. For progressives the increase of government intrusion into the lives of the populace is their primary goal. They don't care if the growth of the federal government takes away choices, ultimately meaning the elimination of liberty. Individual rights mean nothing to these people, and freedom to them is but a privilege that they should be able to take away from you at their whim. We are as free as the rope they are trying to lasso us with. Once they have us, we will have no more freedom than the slack in the rope they allow. Once the statists gain complete control, the nation founded on freedom will be a nation controlled by fascism.

The resistance is conservatism. Not the Republican Party, but the ideology of conservatism that finds its foundation rooted firmly in liberty, individualism, and the values and rights granted upon us by our Creator. The leftists tell you that conservatism is dead, and that without moderates and liberalism in the Republican Party, the GOP will never win an election again. But what good is the Republican Party if it is no different than the Democrat Party?

Scozzafava is one of those Republicans who should follow Arlen Specter to the party of the jackass. She is a symptom of the disease that has infiltrated the Republican Party, and has poisoned the hope of returning this nation to the foundation laid out by the founding fathers of this nation. DeDe Scozzafava is a pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-tax, pro-big government liberal that only held on to the "R" after her name because she opposes Cap and Trade legislation. By endorsing her Newt Gingrich lost the respect of conservatives, and by endorsing her opponent, the Conservative Party opposition, Doug Hoffman, Sarah Palin's popularity rose even more.

Doug Hoffman, the conservative in the New York District 23 special election, is feared by the GOP because the leadership of the Republican Party fears the rise of conservatism - for conservatism can expose the leftists in the GOP for what they are. The liberals love Doug Hoffman because they believe he is an example of division in the Republican Party. Doug Hoffman is more than that. He is hope. He is how conservatism will save this nation. With, or without, the GOP, conservatism will take this nation back district by district, if we must.

The gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia are also signs of the rise of conservatism, and the realization by Americans that liberalism is the last thing this nation needs.

Faced with defeat, and exposed as the liberal she is, Dierdre Scozzafava has dropped out of the race in New York District 23. Some are saying it is because she was concerned about splitting the right-wing vote, but there is nothing right-wing about Scozzafava, so I hardly believe that argument. I believe she did what most leftists do: when faced with true conservatism she ran away before she was truly exposed for what she is.

Scozzafava realizes that Obama has stepped out of the strategic path for instituting socialism, and exposure made her fearful. The strategy of leftism is to promise one thing, and deliver another. The appearance of socialism was not supposed to rear its ugly head, even though the policies are indeed socialist in nature. Too much socialism ought not be delivered in too much quantities or else the people discover the exact nature of the game - and if the people realize the reality of the bloodless coup, the people will remove the leftists from office, and they will have to start all over again.

That is indeed what is happening. The Democrats have overstepped, and conservatism is on the rise.

Listen tonight live at 7pm Pacific, or listen to the archive later, to the Political Pistachio Radio Revolution to hear specifics about the resistance against the rising tyranny of leftism in America, and how we can fight back, and return our nation to the land of liberty our founding fathers intended it to be.
