Failed System of Security

After being briefed about the bombing technique by the Nigerian Crotch-bomber's attempted terror attack aboard Flight 253, including information that the U.S. Government had all the warning they needed ahead of time and still failed to detain him, Barack Obama called Umar Farouk an isolated extremist.

Now, with more information available, it turns out that cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen, an Imam also connected to Fort Hood terrorist Hasan, and two of the 9/11 terrorists, prepared the Nigerian for his attempt.

Janet Napolitano tried to convince us the system worked, when it failed. Obama is trying to convince us that these terror attacks are isolated events, rather than a part of a terror network that includes al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and Anwar al-Awlaki. And now, the TSA has new rules to further complicate travel while sort of profiling based on nations from which travelers have come through.

28 failed terrorist attacks have transpired since 2001 - or about 3 per year. In 2009 we have had six failed attempts, and one successful attack - the most in a year since 9/11.

The Democrats are unwilling to declare who the enemy is, take actions to gain much needed intelligence from captured combatants, or even treat the attacks as acts of war.

If Obama wishes to stop the growing tide of terrorism against the United States, he will quit with the "isolated extremist" comments, and recognize that the enemy is the Islamic Jihad - not because we went to war with them, but because they have committed war against the U.S., and the rest of The West. Then, Obama should haul the Nigerian crotch-bomber to Gitmo, waterboard him, and kick the living snot out of him if they have to, to get the information out of him to lead American intelligence to the Nigerian terrorist's handlers, and trainers. Then, a crack team of American Special Operations need to go to Yemen and kill the one cleric that seem to be the primary problem in the war on terror at this moment, Anwar al-Awlaki .
