Stopping Muslim Minarets

By Douglas V. Gibbs

While talking with some of the volunteers that will be assisting me in my campaign for Murrieta City Council, one of them informed me that our neighboring city, Temecula, plans to approve the plans for the construction of a Muslim Mosque, complete with minaret and speakers.

There are perhaps four or five Muslim families in the entire valley.

The idea, I suppose, from the Muslim point of view, is to lure more Muslims to the Temecula Valley. The idea, I suppose, from the city's point of view, is to be tolerant and politically correct. The idea from the point of view of the Islamists behind the erection of the site is to portray they have conquered yet another region of the United States.

Switzerland has realized that the minarets are a symbol of conquest, and as a result the people passed a law banning minarets. Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch states, regarding the minaret and the call to prayer, "Even in terms of the call to prayer, the minaret is unnecessary. Nowadays, people know what time it is; they have watches. But the minaret remains as an assertion of power and an assertion of supremacy over non-Muslims."

If Temecula goes forth with the building of the Muslim mosque, the people should at least rise up and refuse to allow the presence of a minaret. At least then, the valley would not be a conquered Muslim land in the eyes of the Islamists.

The city would do best if they disallowed the building of the mosque in the first place. We are at war against the Islamic Jihad. Allowing the erection of a mosque is like building a Nazi education center during World War II.

An Islamic Center is already present.
