TSA and the Police State

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Security is necessary to keep this nation safe. Security that does not follow methods that protect the rights of the citizens, and takes away the liberty of the people, is tyranny. One thought that I have had considering the sudden rash of TSA actions against the people in airports is that something is seriously wrong. Why would the Democrats, who were up in arms about Bush's security measures, suddenly promote and defend security actions even more heinous?

Could the TSA be conditioning Americans to life under a police state? And if so, why?

Obama's speech during his campaign calling for a civilian army as well funded and equipped as the military comes to mind.

Definitely a thought to ponder.
