California SB 48 - FAIR Education Act is anything but fair

Status: Introduced on December 13, 2010. Passed by the Senate Education Committee on March 23, 2011 on a 6-3 vote. Passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 4, 2011 on a 3-2 vote. Passed by the California Senate 23-14 on April 14, 2011.

The gay agenda is working to push their beliefs regarding sexual behavior on the children of California through a number of ways. One of those attempts is through the "Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful (FAIR) Education Act" which would amend the Education Code to include social sciences instruction on the alleged contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. This bill would also prohibit government determined discriminatory instruction and government determined discriminatory materials from being adopted by the State Board of Education. In other words, anything that does not paint homosexuality in a favorable light will be disallowed.

The goal of those pushing California Senate Bill number 48 is to change the teaching of core academic subjects into a “celebration” of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual lifestyles, regardless of parental opinion or permission. The changes in instruction would be mandatory, and parents would not have the option to opt-out. In other words, the new law would force a belief upon the children without any concern for the parent's desires. And remember, these people pushing their beliefs regarding sexual orientation are also trying to eliminate all competing beliefs from the schools by supporting the elimination of any vestige of religion remaining in the schools, including the free exercise of religion by the students or teachers.

The fight to stop this perverted bill is happening now. If this bill passes, California’s school children would be subject to homosexual textbooks and curriculum indefinitely.

On the website that supports this bill, the gay organization explains how the plan by homosexual activists are to require all students in social studies classes to admire lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender role models. No opposing opinions will be allowed.

Science classes would be used to teach that same-sex parents are quite common, by teaching about a few animal species where the male takes the responsibility for raising the young. These lessons on penguins and sea horses are supposed to somehow prove that a mother and father are no better than two mothers or two fathers.

In geography, children would learn how a neighborhood such as San Francisco’s Castro district transformed from an Irish working class neighborhood into a gay neighborhood. Why homosexuals move from rural areas to cities is another topic.

In language lessons, children would be required to act as homosexuals when they are role-playing to practice vocabulary.

This legislation would also create a social class for homosexuals, transsexuals and bisexuals. They would be regarded as the same as Hispanics, African Americans, Pacific Islanders, Asians, etc. (despite the fact that theirs is a behavior, not an ascribed status).

This fundamental change in how public schools teach essential subjects are explained as an effort to “celebrate the lives and achievements of the LGBT community” and “encourage everyone to see diversity and cultural pluralism as positive forces”.

The Democrat state legislators pushing this radical bill want to recruit boys and girls to support the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda, personally and publicly. They want them to become ‘LGBTIQ’ activists.

If SB 48 becomes law, “children will be enticed into political activism in support of everything pushed by ‘lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and questioning’ political groups, as the bill requires ‘particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society.’”

Furthermore this bill would require that teachers “positively portray homosexuality, same-sex ‘marriages,’ bisexuality, and transsexuality … because to be silent opens them up to the charge of ‘reflecting adversely’ [on this new protected LGBT class.]”

“This is radical, in-your-face sexual indoctrination that parents genuinely don’t want and children certainly don’t need,” the statement says.

The California Legislative Counsel’s commentary on SB 48 affirms that it would “require instruction in social sciences to also include a study of the role and contributions of … lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans … to the development of California and the United States.” The law would require that schools give “particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society.”

It also would require “alternative and charter schools” to “take notice of the provisions of this bill.”

The Campaign for Children and Families, run by executive Randy Thomasson, notes that it would demand that school boards select textbooks and other materials that actively promote homosexuality, because to be silent “opens them up to charges of ‘reflecting adversely.’”

An additional major concern is that parents would not be able to exempt their children from this mandatory indoctrination.

Under SB 48, Thomasson explained, “textbooks, teachers and school boards will be forced to promote homosexuality, same-sex ‘marriage,’ bisexuality, transsexuality, sex change operations, and cross dressing as positive role models.”

SB 48 allows a tiny minority of people who refuse to keep their private lives private, to impose their private lifestyles on all school children, starting in Kindergarten. This will create a major expense for schools without improving education at all. It reduces the teaching of core academics in favor of political and sexual indoctrination.

These extremist changes in education are being promoted under the disguise of, “anti-bullying” or, “diversity.” And parents who oppose this sexualizing of their children are branded as bigots.

ConcernedParentsUnited.com warns, “We can’t ignore this problem any longer. The time has come to say, “Enough! Stop it!” Our schools are being hijacked by radicals who seek to use our children as pawns to affect social change. Teachers are being trained to separate children from their parent’s values. As a result, education is continuing to deteriorate to the point where kids are learning nothing but ‘feelings.’”
