Patriotism is just another aspect of far right, rightwing, fringe lunacy. How dare you people think you are patriots. How dare you love your country. How dare you look approvingly on the symbol of this nation, the Stars and Stripes.
Or at least, it seems, that is what the liberal left wants you to think.
The stage is being set, and Independence Day, the American Flag, and your patriotism are the next targets in the liberal attempt to destroy all opposition.

Remember when the liberal left media proclaimed that the Fourth of July is dangerous because it makes more Republicans?
Apparently, the liberal media thinks the US flag makes people think and vote Republican, too.
It kind of answers the question about why liberals are always so ready to burn the American flag, doesn't it?
One thing we know about the liberal left, the socialists, the Marxists, the Democrats, and the progressives (sorry about the repetition, but the left actually thinks there is a difference between each of those labels), is that they are quick to attack anybody, and anything, they deem as a threat to their statist goals. Therefore, as quick as they were on Dan Quail, Tom DeLay, Reagan, Bush's Decision to take the war to Islamism (after they approved of it in the first place), and anyone else they see as opposition to turning America into a third world communist dictatorship with the liberals at the helm, the liberal left is now poised to launch attacks, or at least more decisive attacks, against America itself, and her symbols of liberty.
The U.S. News and World Reports article states: "Just a brief exposure to an image of the American flag shifts voters, even Democrats, to Republican beliefs, attitudes and voting behavior even though most don't believe it will impact their politics, according to a new two-year study just published in the scholarly Psychological Science."
Holy Cow! Their own arm of re-education and brainwashing department, a.k.a. psychology beyond the basics, has shocked the world! The Republicans, and more importantly, Conservatives, are patriotic, and leftwing lunatics aren't!
But it goes even deeper: What's more, according to three authors from the University Chicago, Cornell University and Hebrew University, the impact has staying power. "A single exposure to an American flag resulted in a significant increase in participants' Republican voting intentions, voting behavior, political beliefs, and implicit and explicit attitudes, with some effects lasting eight months."
It won't take long for the leftist liberals to conclude that simply flying a flag in front of your house is offensive, and can force people to vote in ways they don't intend, therefore those troublemakers on the Right must be forced to take down those infernal American flags so that the election process will be fair and unaffected by that rightwing propaganda.
Your house might be at risk because you dared to put up a flag, which may result, according to these studies, in growing conservatism.
You can't make this stuff up.
Okay, so we have the Harvard University study concluding that Independence Day parades make kids turn into Republicans, and flags make people vote Republican. . .
Note, these are not even companion studies. These studies are completely separate. They are completely independent from each other.
So why the coincidental timing of them both coming out during the same Summer?
Do you see what is happening here?
How long before liberals and the Democrats start demanding that there should be a law against having flags near polling stations? Then, the American flag won't be allowed in a campaign ad. Before long, these unAmerican jerks will be working to outlaw flying the flag at public events, and then they will make it against the rules for politicians to have flag pins on their lapels.
Obama's refusal to wear the American flag pin during his campaign is a little more clear, now, right? How about when the attendees of the Democratic National Convention a few years ago threw away their little hand-held American flags and trampled them underfoot? Even Obama reading the "Post-American World" makes more sense, doesn't it?
Seriously, why should the symbol of America, our flag of patriotism and allegiance to the republic, be so much more associated with the Republican Party than the Democrat Party. Why do the leftists feel this way?
It's obvious what the Democrats stand for.
Love of country, the flag, the Founding Fathers, Independence Day, and all things patriotic, to these people, means voting conservative. It means we are a center-right nation. It means that we are a majority of the people and of the thinking in this country.
And the liberals don't like it, so they think to stamp out conservatism, so that they may fundamentally change the foundation of America, they must do away with patriotism, Americanism, and anything that lends to it.
So, fly those flags proudly. Not only is it the patriotic thing to do, but doing so also sticks the liberals right in the eye.
