A homeless Female Veteran has been denied shelter at the Los Angeles VA because she essentially did not answer the “right” questions. As a result, she was ordered off the VA premises (Veterans property) and forced to live on the public sidewalk outside the VA.
The fact that this happened over 9-11′s tenth anniversary weekend is reprehensible and a serious affront and abomination against all who have worn the Uniform in defense of our Nation.

I am not surprised. I worked for the VA in West Los Angeles for 26 years. I feel the way that this medical center treats veterans is shameful and disgusting. Many veterans do not want to receive medical care at this center because they have to wait hours to see doctors and in many cases they are not provided with the assistance or medical care that they need. The VA has a long road ahead them to improve service to our veterans who have fought of this country and deserve better.
