Congress Isn't Doing Its Job

By Douglas V. Gibbs

When President Barack Obama uses the regulatory agencies to implement legislation Congress does not pass, he is acting unconstitutionally.

But Congress does nothing about it.

When the news broke about the federal government buying American guns and getting them to Mexican drug gangs, members of Congress complained, and began investigating, but they took no immediate action.

Obama continues to pump money into the black hole of green technologies, into bankrupt companies like Solyndra, and though the Congress asked questions, they did nothing.

Obama entered the U.S. into Libya, and now has sent troops to Uganda. Like the democrats when they cried and complained about Iraq, today's Congress has met Obama's actions with words of disapproval, but they have taken no action to stop it.

The President is doubling down with the taxpayer's money, and the Congress is silently letting it happen.

Congress has the power of the purse strings. If they don't like what the President is doing, all they have to do is cut off funding.

Remarkably, the Congress won't. They seem to be satisfied with just whining and crying.

Congress should cut off funding for the President’s idiotic, and unconstitutional, programs. If they don't, he will continue to put out his madness, and work to circumvent the Congress.

That is what tyrants do.
