Demi Moore Searching and Smoking

By Douglas V. Gibbs

These people are so unhappy. Her younger man upped and left, and now she's smoking incense, or something like that. Then her friend called 911 on her cell and couldn't even answer the questions asked by the dispatchers.

Demi Moore is a 49 year old actress that decided it was time to smoke something new, and it rendered her semi-conscious.

Searching.

Help arrived, and Demi Moore is physically fine.

But she is still searching.

Why do you only point this out when it's a Hollywood actor? There are thousands and thousands of people in the US alone that have problems in life and make mistakes with substance abuse.

Does it only matter when they are famous?

Not at all. Of course all cases are a sad event. But when it happens to someone in the spotlight, people are more apt to pay attention. The point of this post is that like most people she is searching, but she doesn't know for what. There are a lot of people that have a lot of things, but they still feel a hole in their heart, and they can't put their finger on it. In the end what it is is the natural yearning for a relationship with God that He puts in all of us. She has searched for happiness in fame, fortune, a younger husband, and substance abuse, but is still unhappy. . . still searching. God can fill that hole. And part of the reason I mention it here is because it seems to be very common among people who we would think would be happy, since they are rich and famous and all that. It's like Owen Wilson, has a great career, yet he has been suicidal. It's the same thing over and over. They should be happy, and they are not. They feel incomplete. Something is missing. What is missing is God.
