Obama: Let Them Eat Health Care

"[W]hen all government, domestic and foreign, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another." --Thomas Jefferson

Satan appears as an angel of light.  Deception is how evil weaves its way into lives.  The dictators of history, or oligarchies of empire's past, did not announce they were showing up to enslave the people.  The promises were laced with traces of good and truth.  Communism promised equality for all, and Hitler promised government sponsored prosperity and ethnic purity.  Free programs were offered, protective measures through military presence was provided, and the guns were confiscated to protect the citizens from the dangerous elements.

In other words, in those failed societies, dependency upon government was urged, liberty was compromised, and the ability to fight back against the tyranny was taken away.

As Jean Jacques Rousseau so eloquently put it while defending his statist concept of The General Will, "The people must be forced to be free."

To dare speak out against the aggressions of government makes a person seditious, and the checks and balances of a representative government becomes burdensome to the ruling elite so they begin to bypass the checks and balances in place to protect against such authoritarianism.  The Congress, or Senate, is made irrelevant, and the judges are appointed to support the madness.  The people are promised prosperity, peace, and safety, and what they get is a system that forces upon the people programs that laughs in the face of freedom.

The attitude is that the people don't know what is best for themselves, and somehow the ruling elite does.  They put their freedom-killing programs into place despite the protests of the people, and despite those policies being in conflict with the law of the land.  The opposition is labeled as radical extremists who don't understand the complexities of ruling a society.  The opposition is seen as being domestic terrorists, who only want to bring down the wonderful things the regime has put into place.  Then, despite the fact that the people say overwhelmingly they don't want what the statists have to offer, they put the policies into place anyway, telling the people that once the chains are on their wrists and ankles, they will eventually come to love them.

Statism does not announce clearly that it is their goal to enslave you. . . and neither did Obama. . . but we knew, and we did nothing to stop him.
