My Thoughts on the Scott Walker Recall Election

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The recall election in Wisconsin against Scott Walker reveals how despicable the liberal left and the labor unions truly are. Governor Scott Walker has accomplished what few have - he balanced the budget and eliminated the State's deficit. One of the tools used was to eliminate collective bargaining, and forcing the unions to take a step back as the finances of Wisconsin are rerouted so as to function more efficiently.

The response by liberal special interest groups, Washington establishment cockroaches, and the labor unions has been to spend tens of millions of dollars to get him out of office, using a recall election to accomplish their plans.

After generations of unchecked actions, the liberal elite and labor union brass have been put on notice, and the State of Wisconsin has changed the way it does business.

The liberal left is angry with Walker, working to recall him so that they can go back to the days of state economy destroying high taxes, bloated budgets, and unchecked and unaccountable spending.

The thing is, Scott Walker did not do anything nobody expected. He campaigned on doing exactly what he did, and the people put him into office because that is what they wanted. The voters elected Walker with the hopes he would eliminate the deficit, provide freedom of choice to public employees, and return the State to the hands of the people. As he promised, Walker did not raise taxes, and after getting rid of collective bargaining, despite the hysteria of doom spread by the leftists, there were no massive layoffs of state employees. The budget in Wisconsin is balanced, the schools are functioning better, and the unemployment rate, unlike in the rest of the country, and without having to manipulate the numbers like the Obama administration has been doing, has gone down.

Scott Walker sent a message to the country. Conservative policies work. Conservative policies fix damaged economies.  Conservative policies eliminate deficits, and creates jobs. State governments, using conservative policies, can live within their means as constitutionally demanded (Article I, Section 10, Paragraph 1). States can function without the power being in the hands of special interest groups, unions, and liberal crazies.

The polls have Walker leading. The scare tactics, and the strategy of personal destruction by the Left, has not succeeded. The voters see through the liberal lies, and the result is a powerful statement to the rest of the nation.

In a matter of weeks the recall election will be upon us, and it is looking like Governor Scott Walker will defeat it, and continue to show the rest of the country how a State should be run.
