Democrat Party's Marxist Gun Grab

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The rhetoric is in full swing.  The Democrats usually shy away from calling for gun control, and even banning guns, because the issue has been a loser for the liberals for as long as they can remember.  They needed a good crisis.  After Columbine, nobody was listening to the liberal left's calls for gun control.  The liberal left democrats tried to call for gun control after the Gabby Giffords shooting, but nobody bit.  Aurora Batman shooting?  Nothing.  They tried to create a crisis with the Fast and Furious gunwalker operation, but got caught in the act.  Finally, the Newtown school shooting gave them the horrendous shooting they had been waiting for, and the Democrats are not the kind to let a good crisis go to waste.

The crisis not only gives the liberal democrats the opportunity to push for gun control, but to also sling more propaganda against their opposition.

Documentary-maker and liberal activist Michael Moore said the reason for mass shootings in the United States is largely due to fear and racism, and on Christmas Eve he pleaded, “calm down, white people, and put away your guns.”

Who's the racists?  After all, the Democrats have not a single black Senator in the U.S. Senate, the Republicans have more minority State Governors than the Democrats have, the liberal left pays minorities in entitlements to keep them poor, and when a black dares to be a conservative, he is called names - like "Uncle Tom," and "Traitor."  Just ask Allen West, for example.

Fox Sports writer Jason Whitlock, the writer Bob Costas credited for his revelation that America’s “gun culture” was responsible for Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher’s murder-suicide, likened the National Rifle Association to the Ku Klux Klan.

Again, racism on the mind of the liberals.  If everything is about race to these people, doesn't that make "them" the racists?

Liberal Left anti-gun advocates have been calling for NRA president David Keene, and all other members of the NRA, to be shot. To be clear, these people are calling for violence to solve what they think is the cause of many acts of violence — guns.

CNN's Soledad O'Brien said, "I think this conversation at some point has to go to what is the normal amount of guns that people can own and how they’re registered and tracked.”

Isn't that calling for the government to begin seizing private property, and tracking people's use of their private property?  Isn't that a Marxist idea?

An NBC News investigative segment “Rossen Reports” began with a story on private gun sales that was purposefully inflammatory, and in several instances, it simply made things up.  First, stating that a rifle had been altered to fire AK-47 rounds, and second they lied about hollow point bullets - all to try to get the public up in arms over legal firearms and legal ammunition. ". . . the report lied about what the weapon was, and then dishonestly portrayed it as being modified into something supposedly designed for explicitly criminal behavior. This level of purposeful deception by a journalist is on par with fabricating quotes or plagiarism. It is an offense that should lead to a suspension or termination."

David Gregory mocked the NRA's Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced new anti-gun legislation.

NBC is happily reporting that "some parents are imposing a different kind of gun control in their own homes: They are taking away their children’s toy guns."

To keep and bear arms is a natural right, a right pointed out by the Second Amendment, and a right that "shall not be infringed" by the federal government according to the Constitution.

Of course there is the old cliche, "guns don't kill people, people kill people."  We also know that all of the laws in the world will not stop the violent-minded from getting their hands on firearms.  Gun Control legislation simply takes firearms away from law-abiding citizens.

The very idea that the liberal left is calling for gun control, and ultimately the banning of firearms, is more than just appalling.  Looking at history, it is downright tyrannical.

One of the planks of communism is the abolition of private property.

Tyranny loves gun control.  An unarmed populace is easier to control, and murder.

The Turkish Ottoman Empire established gun control in 1911. It then proceeded to exterminate 1 and a half million Armenians from 1914 to 1917.

The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929. Subsequently, from 1928 to 1953, 60 million dissidents were imprisoned and then exterminated.

China enacted gun control laws in 1935. After the communist takeover, from 1948 to 1952, 20 million Chinese, unable to defend themselves, were murdered.

Nazi Germany fully established gun control in 1938. That helped the government to round up 13 million defenseless Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, mentally ill and impaired human beings. Many were imprisoned in concentration camps, then destroyed.

Guatemala passed gun control laws in 1964. Then, from 1964 to 1981, 100,000 defenseless Mayan Indians were exterminated.

Uganda established gun control measures in 1970. Predictably, from 1971 to 1979, 300,000 defenseless Christians met a similar fate.

Cambodia established gun control measures in 1956. Subsequently, from 1957 to 1977, 1 million Cambodians met their deaths.

In the United States, Americans have proudly been gun owners.

In World War II, Admiral Yamamoto proclaimed that Japan would never invade the United States, because there would be a "gun behind every blade of grass."

Nationwide in the United States, concealed-carry laws have resulted in a drop in crime rates.

A comprehensive national study in 1996 determined that violent crime fell after states made it legal to carry concealed firearms. The results of the study showed that states, which passed concealed-carry laws, reduced their murder rate by 8.5 percent, rapes by 5 percent, aggravated assaults by 7 percent and robbery by 3 percent. By extrapolation, if the states that do not have concealed-carry laws had adopted such laws in 1992, approximately 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes, 60,000 aggravated assaults and 12,000 robberies would have been avoided yearly.

Gun owners are freedom loving citizens.  Unarmed citizens are victims, and subjects.
