Jay Nixon, Democrat Governor of Missouri, Vetoes Anti-Foreign Law Bill

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Founding Fathers did not wish for there to be foreign influence on our laws.  The whole point of our American System was to be as unlike the tyrannies of Europe, and the rest of the world, as possible.  The Missouri legislature understands this concept. . . especially with the specter of Islamic Sharia law floating around out there, and being applied occasionally by some of our State courts, and many times by our federal courts.

The bill to make it illegal for Missouri to enforce any foreign law or legal decision deemed “repugnant or inconsistent” with Missouri or U.S. law, however, was vetoed by the governor of Missouri.  Thirty-Two States have introduced such legislation, Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Tennessee enacted such bills.

Governor Jay Nixon cited his reason for vetoing the bill as being, “this bill could jeopardize a family’s ability to adopt children from other countries.”

The republican majority in the legislature says that there is no provision in the bill that would endanger foreign adoptions.

Why would Nixon veto a bill that would disallow foreign influence on the laws and judiciary of his State?

The left's argument is that in some cases foreign law must be considered, and these anti-foreign law bills handicap a judges ability to use all tools available.  I think the reason is more black and white.  My first thought is money.  The democrats hold hands with Islam, even though most of the issues in their ideologies don't match, because of all the money the Muslims pump into the liberal leftist political party.

The votes to pass the bill in Missouri were enough to negate Nixon's veto, should those same officials vote similarly in an attempt to override the governor's veto.

If the veto is not overridden, the sponsor of the bill, Republican Senator Brian Nieves, says he would re-introduce the bill in the future with language specifying that it won’t affect foreign adoptions.

It boggles the mind that democrats are bending over backwards to open us up to Islamic infiltration.  It is as if they have convinced themselves that all of the hateful rhetoric, and the evidence, that Islam wants nothing more than to dominate the United States, and turn us into a Muslim country, is impossible.

At the federal level this appeasement of Islam is even worse.  The FBI, one of the agencies tasked with protecting us from foreign invasion, and terror, has removed from their training manuals any material they deem as being offensive to Muslims, like linking Islamic organizations to terrorism.

If this continues, then the terrorists have won.  We are cowering in the corner, not because we fear terror, but because of political correctness.  We are opening the door for them to do as they please because we don't want to offend them with the truth.

When it comes to the FBI purging these manuals of references that are offensive to Muslims, that means they are re-writing history, so that the training materials will no longer link the Muslim Brotherhood to terrorism, or al Qaeda to the 1993 World Trade Center and Khobar Towers bombings.  If there was any profiling of young male immigrants of Middle Eastern appearance, the FBI will now be like the TSA, watching the terrorists walk by, and then go and frisk a nun, instead.

The removal of "presentations and curricula on Islam from FBI offices around the country that were deemed ‘offensive’ to Muslims," comes after a review of the FBI’s training curricula on counter-terrorism by an independent group of Subject Matter Experts (SME).  These actions also came after a Feb. 8, 2012 meeting between FBI Director Robert Mueller and several Islamic organizations where Mueller assured these Islamic groups that all offensive training material was being removed from the FBI’s presentations and training guides.

Ultimately, over 1,000 documents and presentations were purged from the anti-terrorism curricula.
More than a thousand lives will be lost in the long-run because of our government's unwillingness to identify the enemy, name the enemy, and fight the enemy.
