Sebelius Obamacare Death Panel Denies Ten-Year-Old Lung Transplant

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The government is making the decision on who lives and dies.  Sarah Palin knew what she was talking about when she accused Obamacare of having death panels.  Death panels may not be specifically listed in the health care law, but the very nature of Obamacare, and government control of health care, creates death panels where the government gets to choose who gets treatment and who doesn't.

Considering that the IRS is to be the enforcement arm of Obamacare, and the scandals rocking the IRS where specific groups are being targeted, this creates an ominous realm of possibilities.

A ten year old girl needs a lung transplant, but the rules in Obamacare doesn't allow lung transplants for anyone under the age of twelve.  Kathleen Sebelius has denied Sarah Murnaghan of Pennsylvania the opportunity to receive the desperately needed operation (with weeks to live without it).  The federal government, in accordance with the Affordable Care Act, is determining who gets to live, and who gets to die.  Sarah Palin called this kind of government activity "death panels," and once again, Palin was right.

Historically, when government begins dictating who lives and dies because they are in control of national health care, the motive behind it is a sinister one.  We caught a glimpse back when Obama was campaigning for his federal intrusion into health care when at an ABC event when a woman, Jane Sturm, asked about if Obama would allow her mother to get a pacemaker, and if her will to live would be considered in that decision.  Barack said, "No," but she would be given pills to ease her pain.

Under the control of big government thinkers like Obama, the health of the collective is more important than the needs of any individual.  In other words, the likelihood of you receiving care will be determined by the government, and probably also by your party affiliation or political positions regarding whether or not you support Obama (go back to IRS targeting Tea Party for that one).  Too old?  Too bad.  Not old enough to be considered an important part of the community?  Bye Bye.  Registered Republican? Your coffin is ready.

Obamacare is the ultimate tool in totalitarianism.  If the government is paying for your health care, then they will also consider themselves in charge of all things affecting your health, and that means they would be in charge of everything in your life. . . because everything potentially influences your health.

Under the auspices of Obamacare, they will begin doing things that make what New York Mayor Bloomberg is doing, be it banning sugary drinks and sodas, or demanding women only breastfeed their babies, seem like a cake walk.  Your diet, your activities, your driving habits, and your personal habits at home will all fall under the umbrella of your health.  The federal government is poised, in the future, to determine what you are allowed to eat, how much you are allowed to eat, what you can drink, where you work because driving your car is hazardous, and if you are even allowed to engage in personal activities in your own home (like smoking).  Coupled with Agenda 21, they will be able to cram you into a single community, make you work nearby - or make you dependent on government funding - or both.  They will feed you in a community cafeteria.  They will monitor your activities in and out of your home. . . for the good of the community because we don't want you to be a drain on the system that the government has to pay for.

Once you are no longer productive, based on their definitions, then for the common good you will be recommended for euthanasia, because everyone else paying taxes should not have to pay the health care costs of someone not productive in society.

Want that lung transplant?

Too bad.

Big Brother representative Kathleen Sebelius holds your life in her hands, for Obamacare says that these decisions can be made at the discretion of the Secretary.  She says, "No," and as far as they are concerned, we have too many people on this planet harming the fragile environment. . . so good riddens - you won't be missed.
