Shots Fired at U.S. Capitol

The U.S. Capitol is on lockdown after shots have been fired. Injuries reported. Moat reporting places shots outside.  Details unknown at this point.  More as reports come in.

UPDATE: Suspect apprehended.  Some reports indicate shots fired the result of a car chase unrelated government operations.

ABC NEWS TV reporting someone tried to ram White House gate and then fled to Capitol Building.  KFI Radio Los Angeles reporting female suspect killed on the scene.

FOX NEWS reporting car tried to ram a barricade near the U.S. Treasury before being chased by police towards The Capitol. A security guard has been shot and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

UPDATE: Washington Police in a press conference confirmed the suspect was a woman. The scene encompasses many different locations.  There is damage to a police cruiser, and one injury to a member of the police.  The injury was not due to a gunshot wound.
