Well, I guess there's purism, and then there's purism:
Beats me. Maybe the Times is implicitly suggesting that NBCCCP's audience size is even more miniscule than their own evaporating circulation numbers. If they didn't have their heads so far up The One's ass, they might have scored a few points for honesty by ripping him for even pretending to apologize in the first place. As it is, the spectacle of the dictator's prime propaganda organ orchestrating a cover-up of a fake apology nobody saw is a level of convoluted disarray that I haven't witnessed in over thirty years of following national politics.
And those same animals think Hillary Clinton is a shoo-in in 2016. It boggles the mind, it does.
