Given that King Hussein is already ruling by decree anyway, it makes you wonder what the midterms even matter at this point:
The Obama administration is expected to announce another delay to the implementation of Affordable Care Act to allow insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet Obamacare's minimum coverage requirements. Is this news? I predicted last fall after the O-Care rollout cataclysm that he would nickel & dime these Article I/Section I usurpations to both protect his congressional allies and to acclimate the unwashed masses to "executive unilateralism". I believe this is the 28th bit of unconstitutional ObamaCare legislating Red Barry has done since it was rammed down our throats almost four years ago, the bulk of it in the past five months and three days. The hoi palloi are oblivious to it, as they wouldn't have known about their cancellations until the letters landed in their mailboxes; now, presumably, they won't find out until....well, who knows? After all, there's always another election on the horizon. If O is going to keep up the pretense that there's a need for a legislative branch, he could keep up these delays indefinitely, even as the superstructure of ObamaCare entrenches itself deeper and deeper and deeper, beyond all hope of repeal.
The move would prolong the one-year "keep your plan fix" so as to avoid another wave of health policy cancellations which could hurt Democrats just weeks before the November midterm elections,The Hill reports.
"The cancellations would have created a firestorm for Democratic candidates in the last, crucial weeks before Election Day," The Hill said. "The White House is intent on protecting its allies in the Senate, where Democrats face a battle to keep control of the chamber."
And that, I think, is the heart of the matter. As long as the dictator considers ObamaCare itself to be vulnerable, he'll keep pissing on the founding document and pumping out deferrals. Only when he believes it's safe - or stops caring what Da Peepul think of it - will this down-the-road can-kicking cease.
