Dangerous Alliance

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The joke about Barack Obama has been that there is one campaign promise he has achieved.  He promised to unite the people of the United States.  He has.  No president has ever united Americans in the way Obama has.  We have united in an amazing way against him.

Obama has also united the enemies of the world against him, and our country.  As Islam unites with a fiercer stranglehold on the nations of the Muslim World, and the communities of Islamist hate within host nations unite and become more vocal about demanding Sharia, we are now also seeing a united front against the United States and The West by Russia and China, as well.

Both Russia and China are taking steps to cease America's reign as the economic giant of the world by attacking the American dollar, and its position as the world's reserve currency.  Dethroning the dollar as the world's reserve currency will, according to historical precedent, collapse the dollar, and thrust the American economy into a downward spiral reminiscent of the Wiemar Republic where in Germany it took wheelbarrow loads of currency to purchase staple items like a loaf of bread.

An emerging Chinese-Russian alliance is not a surprise, considering how those nations have historically rejected the West, and considering the deterioration of the standing of the United States on the world stage during the presidency of deconstructionist Barack Obama.

Russia's economy has been struggling, and China is resource-poor, so the opportunity for the two nations to cooperate is an opportunity that both nations are surely looking forward to.  Historically, enemies and allies (depending on the situation), communism and a hate for America has always been uniting factors.  As China cemented communism by crushing student protests in Tiananmen Square, Russia found itself forced to let go of the Warsaw Pact after their inability to keep up with Ronald Reagan's Cold War drive of a military build-up.  China tightened its grip, and the Soviet Union collapsed.

Now, the two enemies of The West have found their way back to each other, to form a dangerous alliance in order to take advantage of the weakened political state of the United States.

Strike while the iron is hot, and the enemy is cold in her own turmoil.

A partnership against the West that is designed to finally destroy the enemy, if they don't destroy each other in the process.

A touchy road, at best.  A world war, otherwise.

Unless the United States can rebound, and once again become the shining beacon on the top of the hill.
