....for some, but not all of the reasons they should:
Senator Ted Cruz will meet with a group of House Republicans to try to persuade them to oppose House Speaker John Boehner's immigration bill, set for a Thursday vote, the Washington Post reports....
Boehner's bill aims to make it easier to deport the tens of thousands of Central American children who have crossed the border from Mexico earlier this year.
Cruz's opposition to Boehner's plan lies in the fact that the speaker has declined to defund President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Child Arrivals [DACA] executive order.
Well, now. That raises the question of why DACA, being blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, was ever funded in the first place, doesn't it? The absolute least House Republicans could do is (there's that word again) defund it now. Given that the public is on their side of this crisis by a better than four to one margin - with thousands-strong anti-illegal immigration protests taking place in Boston, Massachusetts, of all redneck strongholds - there is utterly no reason not to pull the fiscal plug on it.
But that is not the only reason they should do so. For the plain, simple fact of the matter is that even if DACA is defunded, any monies that Congress appropriates will simply be redirected by the Obama Regime to start DACA back up again, along with the rest of their amnesty priorities, especially after Harry (G)Reid triples the funding and Boehner & Co. are vilified as anti-Latino mass-murderers-by-neglect. The bottom line is, we cannot trust Barack Obama, we cannot trust Harry (G)Reid, we cannot trust any Democrat to be anything but what they are: perfidious, lying scoundrels who have declared open war on the country and us. If O wants his amnesty subsidy, let his pen and phone conjure it up.
Or, to Shatnerize it, and in political terms.....
