Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has stepped down, according to Iraqi State TV. CNN's Nick Paton Walsh reports.
<sigh> Does the phrase "garbage in, garbarge out" mean anything to y'all? Obviously it doesn't to this CNN goober. Maliki governed in a pro-Shiite way for three reasons: (1) he's Shiite; (2) the Shiites are the majority in Iraq; and (3) we lost any and all ability to "keep him in line" when we withdrew from the country. What on Earth makes anybody believe that a Prime Minister Abadi - also a Shiite, from Maliki's party, and an erstwhile protégé of his - will govern any differently than Maliki did?
It's like the Iraqis' "Agents of SHIELD" and they're the Koenig series.
