Even Keith Olbermann Got Ray Rice Case Right

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Normally, Keith Olbermann makes me want to puke.  Politically, I think he's an idiot.  However, when it comes to Ray Rice, and the NFL's handling of the Ray Rice domestic abuse case, unbelievably, Olbermann nailed it.

First, remember that the NFL is Ray Rice's employer, along with the Baltimore Ravens, and the company has an image that is observed worldwide - yet the Ravens also want a winning team on the field, and they were willing to overlook the abuse to keep a key player in uniform.  Ray Rice assaulted his fiancee (now wife - which means the dumb woman still married the abusive man), and as a result he lost his job. . . finally.  Originally, Rice was suspended for a couple games, but now he has no football contract, and he has been suspended indefinitely.

The NFL did not take the more drastic action until a video surfaced on TMZ showing Rice slugging his fiancee, and knocking her out, on an elevator.  They didn't take action until they had to.  Once the public saw the video, the NFL had no choice.  It was like a politician that plays dumb until the political winds tell him where he should stand on an issue.

It is absolutely disgusting.

Olbermann asks about how is it that TMZ had the video, but the NFL had never seen it?

As far as Olbermann, and myself, are concerned, the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should be gone for whitewashing Ray Rice's brutal assault on his future wife.  He should resign, or be fired, for playing the money game on the situation until the video surfaced, or because they were aware of the video and whitewashed Rice's brutal assault anyway.

Ray Rice needs to be in jail where he belongs, and Goodell, and all of his minions, should be jobless.
