Obama: Immigration Rights

By Douglas V. Gibbs

We live in a world where everything is a right.  Responsibilities went out the window a long time ago.  One of the key endeavors of the liberal left Democrats has been to kill consequences, and then claim they are standing up for every right under the sun, even when the right they believe to be a right is not a right.

President Barack Obama says that foreigners have a right to immigrate into the United States.  Yet, Burger King does not have the right to leave.

Or should I say, "defect."

On Labor Day, President Obama said, “Cynicism is a bad choice… Hope is what gives young people the strength to march for women’s rights, and worker’s rights, and civil rights, and voting rights, and gay rights and immigration rights.”

Immigration rights?  Really?

I laughed at the women's rights part of his comment.  The liberal left acts like women are expected to be pregnant and unseen, and treated worse than an animal.  That doesn't happen in the United States, except in the Muslim neighborhoods of Dearborn, Michigan.

Worker's rights?  The unions are a militant arm for the Democrat Party, and "Worker's Rights" has become code for "communism."  Shouldn't he just start saying Proletariat?

Civil Rights?  Is that still an issue in the United States?  Are blacks being treated unfairly, unable to rise up to a place of prominence?  Then who in the hell is president?

It's funny.  Obama is "The Man," and still speaks out against "The Man."

Voting Rights?  If needing IDs for voting for political leaders is racist, then why do unions require ID in order to vote in union elections?

Gay Rights?  Do you need a right to be gay?  Don't you mean, "Allow people to be gay without any opposition, and use the full force of the law against anybody that dares disagree?"

And then Immigration Rights.  If everyone has a right to move here, then how are we going to survive such an onslaught of incoming people?  Can liberal entitlement programs handle those kinds of numbers?  Americans are having trouble finding jobs, and you want to introduce more competition for those jobs?

We already have 40 million illegals, and Obama just opened the flood gates for millions upon millions more.

At least 138 million foreigners want to live in the United States, according to a March 2013 report by Gallup.

Barack Obama may have just doomed the democrats in the 2014 mid-term elections.  His view of immigration is not exactly a popular position in this country.  Then again, voter fraud may turn the tables back in their direction, as it did in 2012.
