Despite Claims, Top Democrats DID Know About 2002 Interrogation Tactics

by JASmius

And so did Darth Queeg, no matter how self-righteously he insists on mischaracterizing necessary intelligence gathering methods in a war where countless American lives depend upon them, how often he smooches DiFi in front of the Obamaedia press corps, and otherwise irritatingly grandstands.

But this isn't about them, but rather how conspicuously and frantically Democrats are, in the wake of the release of their own "torture" report, attempting to channel their inner Sergeant Shultz....

....about their own knowledge of the CIA's enhanced interrogations of captured jihadists at the time they were being carried out:

Jose Rodriguez, the former chief of the CIA Clandestine Service, said he briefed Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi in 2002 on each of the interrogation tactics approved by the Justice Department.

“I briefed her on all of the techniques. These people were fully aware of all of the techniques approved by the Department of Justice and legal counsels,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” “She never objected to the techniques at all.”

He said many members of Congress actually told CIA officials that they needed to be doing more to protect the country.

“Their biggest thing that they told me was, ‘Your problem is that you guys are risk averse. ‘You have to go out and [use] the authorities you’ve been given to protect America,’” he said.

Of course they knew.  Pelosi knew, Tom Daschle (Harry (G)Reid's predecessor as Senate Donk Leader) knew, (G)Reid knew - hell, DiFi's predecessor as Senate Intelligence Committee Chair the last time their party controlled the Senate, the now-retiring Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, was one of the biggest pushers for pushing coercive interrogations as far as it took to get the information the CIA needed to prevent any more 9/11 (or worse) attacks.

Why were Dems so "bloodthirsty" then?  For the same reason that Calvin sat at rapt attention in class for the first thirty seconds after Miss Wormwood rapped her yardstick two inches in front of his nose.  The lesson of 9/11 - that weakness begets war and vigilant strength prevents it - was still fresh in the minds of the American electorate, and Democrats dared not be honest about their congenital militant Ameriphobic pacifism and pro-jihadist sympathies.  It would take them more than four years of constant, relentless, insatiable "anti-war" agitating, including smearing enhanced interrogation techniques and the dedicated patriots who administered them when necessary as "torture" and "torturers," to bludgeon public attention back down into the national suicide torpor from which it had been abruptly awakened that bright, sunny September morning in 2001.  The reascension of Democrats to universal power in Washington, D.C. followed in electorally short order.

So why did Senator Feinstein's partisan accomplices release this years-in-the-skewing piece of lying propaganda baqtag last week?  For the same reason a lion licks his genitals: because they could, and because this was their last chance to do so.  After January 9th, this "report" would have been consigned by the GOP to a landfill somewhere where it belongs.

Which begs the question of why Democrats are as alacritously insistent that nobody told them about "CIA torture" of illegal enemy combatants at the time as they are that "CIA torture" took place.  And that reinforces my conclusion that they released this as an open political attack on U.S. intelligence and an exercise in maudlin Bushophobic nostalgia for their most recent "glory days," not out of any attempt at gaining a political advantage that this over-plowed ground can never provide.  Because these counter-questions and rebuttals and pushback from all the CIA personnel DiFi's Donk staffers deliberately didn't interview for this "document" that got ignored when the Dems were riding high in 2006 through 2008 is now going to come roaring back to bite them in the ass at their own hands now that they're headed en masse into the political wilderness.

Kind of like one extra twist of the seppuku sword....

....that they honorlessly stole from the neighborhood dojo.
