Is Obama Really "Stumped" On Why The Castros Are Already Double-Crossing Him?

by JASmius

Warner Todd Huston seems convinced of it.  I, as always, am unable to believe that any human being is capable of that level of naivete without their skull imploding, and this debacle is no different:

State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki repeatedly refused to answer questions this afternoon about the fifty-three political detainees Cuba promised to release as part of a deal with President Obama to normalize relations with the United States.

May I observe, parenthetically, that Miss Psaki's brains....

....are in her bodice?  Such that she may well have once been a Clinton intern?

Just calling it as I see 'em, folks.

When asked about a lack of transparency in the prisoner exchange process, Psaki said, “Well, we know who’s on there. And the Cuban government knows who’s on there.”

And......?

The Cuban government hasn’t exactly been a model for transparency the last half century.

Neither will have the Obama government by 2058, during Malia's reign.

Included in his deal with Cuba, Obama announced two weeks ago that the U.S. government had released three Cuban spies. The lack of progress in freeing the Cuban political prisoners increases the scrutiny on that White House decision.

....and just exactly why they made it.

After Psaki stated that she had no updates to provide, a befuddled Matt Lee asked, “Hold on — hold on a second. Can we — I mean, is it — what’s happening? Are they out? Are they not out? … Where are they?”

Psaki responded, “I don’t have any more updates to provide for you, Matt.”

Lee, frustrated, followed up, “So the Cubans don’t actually have to do anything?”

Psaki answered, “Matt, no. This is something they’ve agreed to. I would point you to them for any updates on the number of people or the people have been released.” [emphasis added]

Did I miss something there, or did Miss Psaki tacitly admit that Fidel and Raul Castro are more reliable and trustworthy news sources than the Obama Regime?  I think she dropped a cup size in the space of ten seconds.

Which brings us back to the "naivete" versus complicity question, and whether it's even relevant anymore.  Either Barack Obama's reputation as a laughably weak naïf is so universally known around the planet by now that the Castros aren't bothering to even take American reaction to a double-cross into consideration, or they know that he is so tight and loyal a fellow communist ally that they have complete confidence that he will continue to do his part for their common cause.  Either way, we are harvesting the fruits of "fundamental transformation" such that if there ever is an Obama successor not named Elizabeth Warren, he'll face more damage cleanup than any single two-term presidency can possibly handle.

For which, as far as The One is concerned, making Jen Psaki look like Hooter McJuggs is a small price to pay, even if she doesn't realize it.
