Joe Biden To Skip Netanyahu Speech To Congress

by JASmius

My only question: Will Mitch McConnell get to sit in Biden's big chair?

Okay, it was a trick question, as Orrin Hatch of Utah is current Senate President Pro Tempore.  Which will still be a vast aesthetic improvement for the background of Bibi's State of the Middle East address over Slow Joe:

Vice President Joe Biden will not attend a "controversial" speech Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to make to Congress next month, in a new White House snub of the Israeli prime minister.

It isn't the speech that is controversial, peeps, but the reason Bibi is having to deliver it.

"The Vice President's office expects that the Vice President will be traveling abroad during the joint session of Congress," an official said.

Really?  Who died?  Or is O finally letting Rogaine use one of his vacation palaces?

As president of the Senate, Biden would be expected to attend any joint meeting.

By tradition and responsibility, yes.  And we all know the utter, acidic contempt in which Democrats in general, and King Hussein in particular, hold tradition and responsibility.  And, of course, Mr. Netanyahu.

No, in other words, I don't think this is Biden's idea.  He's following orders, as may the entire Donk congressional contingent:

Democrats have suggested they may boycott Netanyahu's address, prompting Israel to launch a diplomatic charm offensive, dispatching Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer and Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein in an effort to convince members of Obama's party to attend.

On Wednesday, a spokesman for House {Minority L]eader Nancy Pelosi expressed concern that "casting a political apple of discord into the relationship is not the best way forward given the formidable challenges our two countries are facing together."

Granny, it is your demigod who cast that rotten apple and has been pissing all over that relationship since the moment he assumed power over six years ago.  The Israeli Prime Minister is simply doing whatever is in his power to save his country, the Middle East, and yes, the United States from the nightmare specter of a nuclear holocaust launched by an Iranian mullahgarchy that has promised to do precisely that, facilitated, aided, and abetted by, yes, that same Barack Hussein Obama and his idiotic "negotiations," the only "fruit" of which they can "bear" is the radioactive variety. And yes, Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader McConnell are giving him the platform from which to make his case directly to the United States Congress and the American people; something he wouldn't have to do if your demigod had any regard for the "relationship" between our two countries.

Frankly, Democrats' self-exclusion from the occasion will raise the seriousness level, and improve that relationship, exponentially.

Exit question: Will Jewish voters take note of that garishly conspicuous absence and finally connect the dots as to in which party their true friends are and their interests truly lie?
