The most logical question to ask at this point is, "Why"? But then you see the goofy grin on the mug of the Red Mayor, and the query dies inside your lips:
The largest public school system in the U.S. will observe the two most important Muslim holidays starting next fall.
Under the new policy, which was hailed Wednesday by Islamic leaders in New York City, the city’s 1.1 million-pupil public school system will close September 24th for Eid al-Adha and the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which will be observed during the summer school session next year.
"Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honoring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his announcement. [emphases added]
There are hundreds of thousands of Muslim families in the same city that their co-religionists attacked just thirteen and a half years ago? That would mean, by the standard ten to one ratio, that there are tens of thousands of jihadist sleepers in New York City alone. That can't possibly be the case - can it?
A little down the shrieking alarm scale, how is it that Muslim holidays are now being officially recognized and commemorated in what is not supposed to be a Muslim country? If it had been done decades ago, it might be one thing, but now? Insanity, utter insanity, and a stark measure of how creeping dhimmism is reaching a full-bore gallop.
The linked report also mentions that the total number of NYC public school holidays will not change, and highlights incumbent recognition of Christian and Jewish holidays. Which ought to tell you all you need to know about which holidays Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr will be replacing.
And to think Gotham was ruled by corruption when Bruce Wayne got back from ninja training. He had no idea.
